Reviews for Hotel Embajador

Review 1:They attempted to charge me an extra night because I arrived at 4 in the morning when I had previously asked if I could have early check in and they had confirmed. It took an hour and a half to resolve so it wasnt a great experience. But we resolved it and they took the money off my card.

Review 2:Staff was very nice and helpful. Clean room and bright place.

Review 3:- Included breakfast was a little meager at my first stay. Didn't have it at my second stay but preferred the nearby cafes instead.

Review 4:- Staff is extremely friendly and caring. - The colourful rooms are perfectly clean. Room service cares every day. - Free airport pickup service is great. Though the Peruian airlines seem constantly delayed, the pickup guys will not miss you :-)

Review 5:The matrimonial bed was a bit narrow. We waited a long time for our food at the hotel restaurant.

Review 6:The staff were really kind and helpful. We were picked up at the bus station for free. They helped us with our luggage. Receptionists were helpful and spoke English. The food at the hotel "restaurant" (more of a grandma's kitchen) was nice and simple, the portions were generous. Do not expect dishes from a professional chef, rather simple homemade food. The room was clean and quiet (considering the location). The hotel is not far from the centre.

Review 7:Odd breakfast room but we think this was a temporary measure due to a refit. Average breakfast.

Review 8:Really attentive staff and English speaking too. Lovely room. Good shower.

Review 9:WiFi didn't work at all.

Review 10:Very kind staff. Good location, about 10 minute walk to main square (taxi drivers said it was a dangerous area but we never felt unsafe).

Review 13:Room didn't have external windows which was probably a blessing because the street is noisy. Rooms have fans but Chiclayo is hot and so the rooms don't cool down. For a night or two it's okay.

Review 14:The staff were welcoming, friendly and kind. Collection from the bus station late at night was great. Staff allowed us to use our room until 11.00pm when we had another late bus after a day visiting the ruins - thank you so much!

Review 15:Great value for this price. The staff is so helpful and professional. The hotel has a small restaurant where you can have a very affordable lunch or dinner. I definitely recommend for a clean, comfortable, economical stay in Chiclayo.

Review 16:Loud noise from nearby nightclub on weekend nights. My room had no external window. Breakfast minimal.

Review 17:Reception staff spoke good english and were exceptionally helpful with advice on how to get to places and arranging tours etc. I loved the outlandish colour schemes too!

Review 18:Food not readily available in the attached dining area. However, the food sampled was quite good.

Review 19:Extremely friendly and helpful English speaking staff. A very clean, comfortable and quiet room.

Review 20:One morning some guests were very noisy-thoughtlessly so. Other than that the place wqs great and I would definitely stay there again.

Review 21:The staff was so attentive, friendly and helpful I think they may have thought I was a travel reporter which I am not. they recommended some cool places to visit and even arranged transportation with reasonably priced taxis. Also the place was spotlessly clean and seemed newly remodeled.

Review 22:THe night Person was incompetent and gave poor Information. We were not able to pay with MasterCard

Review 23:Breakfast was good and nice friendly person

Review 24:Everything!

Review 25:Staff helpful and obliging. Nothing to write home about.

Review 26:Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Fairly quiet. Walkable to plaza.

Review 27:Spotlessly clean, love the bright colours. Staff went out of there way to help. One of the best hotels I have stayed in Peru.

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:Helpful staff. Bright, clean accommodation. Hot showers.

Review 30:The heat

Review 31:The staff, value for money

Review 32:Nothing bad but weather.

Review 33:Clean and attentive. They cannot control city's hot humid weather.

Review 34:Room was quite basic

Review 35:People

Review 36:The staff were friendly, and very helpful. Hotel's location was a few blocks from the main square. The hotel is also called the Empajador.

Review 37:Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Everything worked and the tours organised by the staff were great.

Review 38:Veryhelpful staff who all spoke very good english

Review 39:Staff Design (lots of colors)

Review 40:Sometimes noisy

Review 41:Staff, location, clean ... Very good hotel in chiclayo

Review 42:Breakfast is not very good, as in al hoteles of this price range

Review 43:The hotel has a good situation, nice personnel and is clean.

Review 44:Nothing!

Review 45:Their staff are excellent! Rooms clean; its location is near the Witch Market which is very busy at night. We enjoyed walking out at night and watched daily life of local people.

Review 46:Very friendly and helpful, picked us up at the bus station, helped us organize our bus tickets to Chachapoyas and organized a great tour for us to visit the museums in the area.

Review 47:It seems many Peru hotels share the same design around an open central air well, therefore no external windows and any small noise gets amplified 10 times, meaning the rooms are very noisy.

Review 48:Funky colours, friendly staff, able to arrange tour with English guide at short notice via email, comfortable rooms

Review 49:The staff was very friendly and helpful, although (unfortunately) they made mistakes here and there so you should double check (they forgot to pick us up at the bus station & during the organised tour we didn't have an English guide as promised). The breakfast was good, with a fresh fruit juice. The wifi was good. The room was ok. Overall, I thought it was a little expensive for what we got.

Review 50:It was rather noisy: we heard the tv of other guests until late at night and early in the morning (we may have been unlucky). Limited natural light in room.

Review 51:Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Review 52:room was rather hot - little air circulation - no outside windows, just window opening onto interior opening.

Review 53:convenient to walk 15 minutes to center of town. staff very friendly and helpful

Review 54:Staff are courteous and extremely helpful and ready to go the extra mile to ensure guests enjoy their stay both in the hotel and in the city of Chiclayo. Very clean and neat hotel with everything in good working order. Extremely good value for money and close to the main square, banks, shops and restaurants. One of the best value for money hotels I have stayed in during my trip to Peru. Totally recommend.

Review 55:The breakfast is very small..literally one egg and a piece of bread with tea or coffee.

Review 56:Staff went out of their way to help us. The trips they offer are very good value when compared to some of the downtown options. Room was very nice and clean.

Review 57:Location is not in an attractive area of town.

Review 58:Staff, especially the administrator was very attentive and helpful. They went out of their way to help us and make us feel at home and welcomed. Location is centrally located.

Review 59:No rooms with air conditioner (it gets hot in Chiclayo during the Summer). The suites are really honeymoon suites. They lack windows.

Review 60:Attentive, friendly and helpful front desk staff. Free pick up at airport. Great tours given by individual driver recommended by hotel. Good value for the service provided.

Review 61:Chiclayo can get very hot in summer. Air-conditioning would be nice.

Review 62:The staff were fantastic - friendly, full of information and incredibly helpful. Easily some of the best hotel staff I've had in Latin America.

Review 63:In my many years of travelling I have never encountered hotel staff as kind, accommodating an professional as those at the Hotel Embajador. They do everything to insure their guests are happy and comfortable, and were generous enough to have a room cleaned and immediately prepared for us when we arrived in Chiclayo after a very tiring bus ride at 9:30 am at no extra charge. The room and facilities were beyond spotless and comfortable, breakfast was good, and the WiFi was excellent. By far and away the best value I got for my $$ in any place I stayed in Peru over the course of a month here. Absolutely recommended.

Review 64:Nothing.

Review 65:From the moment we arrived at the bus terminal at Chiclayo, the staff did everything they could to make our stay a memorable one. We were met at the bus terminal, escorted to the hotel and made welcome. The room was very clean and comfortable. A little noisy in the late evenings but to be expected in the centre of the city. Close to everything and again the staff arranged our tour of pyramids and temples which was really interesting. The owners oversaw everything and went out of their way to make sure our stay was a memorable one. Highly recommended if visiting Chiclayo.

Review 66:Quiet room location, but like everywhere in Peru, children reign supreme. Next to us a family of 3 thought playing in the hallways and slamming doors at 7 a.m. was ok.The only flaw of the hotel renovation which continues is the cheap hardware which means that shutting a door requires a slam. Perhaps try better hardware or rubber bumpers. Otherwise everything was great and I liked the bright colours that are seen on the beach and in Chiclayo.

Review 67:Close to Plaza. Very accommodating staff; Jocelyn and Daniel spoke some English which is a real asset to international travellers. Good room, new bathroom. Overall a friendly place, and great value for 90soles/double. Breakfast good but held to a tight budget.

Review 68:Nothing!!
