Review 1：A/C machine was not working in the room. Meals was not worth for money. No wifi facility in the room. Bad smell in beach side from over flowing toilet pit.

Review 3：On checking in the TV albeit the fact being a cable connection had a poor reception and was impossible to watch. Was about to complain and figured there are no room telephones. The washrooms was outdated and when walking in to the change room over the pool it was under construction inside!! Was going to order a la carte for dinner at the restaurant and the manager confirmed was possible and would get the menu cards which sounded weird. On the family coming down the restaurant, the stewards convey that the chef has refused to do A La Carte and the buffet was the only available option. A shocking first in a hotel stay!! Overall fidgety TV / No Intercom to order or reach the reception and refusal of service at the restaurant summed up a disappointing stay!!

Review 4：the staff was the only exception and was helpful and the ambiance of the main lounge and restaurant was homely with Christmas Decor and good light background music.

Review 11：The room was very dark, dead and alive insects in the room. Awfull smell of the bathroom When we arrived. Very expensive for this kind of bedroom regardant the cleaniness.

Review 13：There was no water in our room for more than three hours. The intercom wasn't working so one had to walk each time to the reception. The rooms are big but the the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired.

Review 15：This was the only place we booked that didn't include 23% tax that we had to pay when we arrived. This made an already pricey stay considerably over priced. The shower was grotty, the glass doors filthy, the mirror cracked and the sink leaking. We stayed in better guesthouses for 1/3 of the price. Worth 6500LKR per night, not 16500.

Review 16：Lovely beach, room was nice enough, large but very overpriced. Food/drinks were pretty reasonably priced for a resort. Pool was very nice.

Review 17：The lower stuff were super friendly and helpful, the management however does not leave an impression that they are at work. The room was terrible, we were afraid that the fan will drop on us, it is hanged verrrry low. I don't even wanna mention the smelly tent that was supposed to be the ayurveda centre. There are much better hotels around not much more expensive, go there.

Review 18：We stayed for three nights, for some reason two first dinners were much better and reacher then the last one. The location is close to pigeon island but you'll find some weird ruins just across the fence instead of nice hotels. Make sure when you need transport to ask at reception, we send an email and they replied when we were already long gone ...

Review 19：had to change rooms 2 times in our 3 night stay-due to faulty AC leak and then room covered in insects. unhappy about lack of transparency in payment- lots of additional charges and bad exchamge rate given. run down building. during our stay- lots of work going on and not told about it. furniture was spread all over walkway. swimming pool not welcoming. cleaning staff were very good and helpful, but do not seem well supported by management who come across lazy.

Review 25：Gorgeous location. A great place to relax by the sea or next to the pool. Nothing was too much trouble for the new manager of this hotel. He arranged transport to our next destination, a tuktuk to take us around Trincomalee and offered to have the chef prepare food for us that wasn't on the menu. The food was all very fresh and the local staff attempted a lot of european dishes to cater for the variety of nationalities staying. I would have been very happy with Sri Lankan cuisine as it was all delicious and very well done.

Review 26：We got a great deal through booking.com and the duty manager Sheran looked after us well. The hotel was quiet, peaceful and whilst the sea was rough at the time, we had a relaxing stay and unwound by the pool and on the beach.

Review 30：The hotel is very far away from the city. However, if you want to find a place that can relieve you from the busy and noisy urban life, this would be a wonderful place to go. The beach here is very beautiful and the pigeon island national park is very worth going. The food is okay, and you basically can only dine at the hotel cafeteria because that's the only restaurant nearby!!!

Review 37：The weather is clearly outside the control of the hotel. Whilst it is sunny then the pool and beach are great. In wet weather, as in most beach resorts, options are limited and this may be an issue for families with small children. For us as more mature travellers it wasn't an issue.

Sea far safer for swimming than many resorts on SW coast of the island. Food was first class and plenty of choice. Access by 3 wheeler into Trincomalee was straight forward. Improved road links with Dambulla and Kandy now make this NE coast far more accessible.

Review 39：There is nothing near the hotel. We expected that Nilaveli would be a smaal town with some bars and restaurants but that is not the case. Ideal if you want to relax and want to enjoy miles of undiscoverd beaches with no tourism

Review 44：Booked this hotel as there wasnt big selection of accommodation in this area. Thought it was pricey and wasnt really impressed by photos (mostly gym and corny photos of weddings:). But this hotel is amazing! How come it doesnt have better review score?!! Rooms are spacious and comfy, staff is smiley, lovely and helpful, food is fantastic (best grilled prawns EVER), breakfast bufet is hugh, sea and beach is one of the nicest I have seen and EMPTY (no hotels around), swimming pool (which I didnt even noticed when looking at photos) beautiful, whole hotel is very clean. There are cute squirels running around the hotel area:). 4 days of our stay there were only few guests and no kids - felt extremely relaxed, beautiful atmosphere.

Review 54：the septic tank is placed between hotel and beach. So the stench of the wastwater treatment is felt on the beach, since the wind blows in summer from the landside. Since the hotel was built on a narrow strip of land, a better solution seems difficult.

Review 58：Beautiful setting for a hotel in a beautiful setting. Would recommend upgrading to suite if available, which gives you a balcony and views of garden or sea, but not essential.Great food, great staff, great place.

Review 59：one of the managers is clearly there for business and he'll try to sell you days out and activities a little too often. not enough cushions for the sun chairs on the beach sitting on wood is a little hard!

Review 60：great location with a beautiful view on pigeon island. beach is everything you'd expect from a tropical island and the hotel is right on it. The boat staff they use to take you snorkeling on the island is extremely nice and actually they'd tell you not to go to pigeon but to another one further away. now the hotel does not arrange for that other one that's why they don't tell you about it. so if you have a chance speak with the boat driver (you'll see him on the beach by the hotel) Staff was nice, seafood was incredible! room clean and comfi. hotel is a little isolated which for us worked fine as you can take a touk-touk everywhere for very cheap but some people might find it a bit secluded

Review 61：Beware of beeing cheated - for first dinner we paid twice, that we 've noticed that to late. So be carrefour signing bills! Difficulties to get some table in air conditionig restauant, once we had to wait because of reservation of all tables.

Review 81：Management should pay more attention to quality of service. Our room personnel cleaned at different times, twice they came in the evening forgotten that they cleaned it at day. They changed new towels on dirty ones. Also they cleaned rooms not when we were out and asked to do this but in afternoon when we wanted to relax in the room. There are so many ants in the room, we also saw a cockroach and a spider. Electrician old, sometimes we scaried to use it.

Review 82：There are not so many things we liked in this hotel. The best of all was restaurant. Cuisine is great, everything was very tasty. But due to lack of alternatives, prices on food are quite high. This is nice place for quiet rest.

Review 109：We had read in advance that the rooms were overpriced and this turned out to be more than true. Gaps under doors and windows meant that bugs were constantly getting into the room, the management left a note saying to keep lights off after 6pm to stop the insects from getting in but as it gets dark at 6 this is hard to do. The management should really do something about blocking up the gaps as this is an avoidable problem. Generally cleanliness was extremely poor, towels did not look or feel clean and the room wasn't cleaned during our stay despite our request. During our trip around Sri Lanka we stayed at much nicer places for much less money. It's a shame as the location is beautiful.

Review 115：(1) No facilities. There are 38 rooms but only 7 beach umbrellas and nowhere to sit. Rooms have no terrace and no chairs to relax. There is no shade except at the tiny bar and no chairs at the pool.(2) Not clean. There was an invasion of insects which they totally failed to deal with. We lifted the mattress to find it packed with dead insects - a disgrace. (3) Pool not cleaned and small. The water was very cloudy which indicates the pump broken or bad filters. (4) The restaurant is a la carte but very understaffed we waited an hour for our order before leaving. (5) Hugely overpriced for what you get. If the cost per night had been $50 instead of $150 we would have been prepared to put up with more but they also quote NET prices and then add on over 20% tax and service - ha ha. To top it all we found a frog jumping round the room after we which we left after the first night. WE CANNOT BELIEVE HALF THE REVIEWS ARE GENUINE THEY ARE DONE BY THE OWNER'S FRIENDS.

Review 117：The shower doors opened the wrong way and clashed with the bathroomdoor! Not a major problem though. It would have been good if there hadbeen shade round the pool area.

Review 119：- We found 3 cockroaches in our room upon arrival. Not sure if this was due to the fact that the room was unoccupier for a long period of time before we arrived or if the hotel is generally dirty...- not enough sun loungers available around the pool. There were plenty on the beach not being used but the staff refused to bring one over for us - the staff means well and is very attentive but you can tell that it doesn't come naturally to them (i'm talking about the waiters in the restaurant who were all very attentive but very awkward about everything). Twice we ordered appetizers and never got them because I think the waiters just didn't understand what we were saying, and rather than asking us to repeat they just walked off - no wifi in the rooms but only in the lobby and the connection is VERY slow

Review 121：Lovely resort, situated right on the beach. Rooms were good but could probably be a little more luxurious considering the price. Pool is amazing! Access to the beach is also fantastic. Would definitely recommend the on-site restaurant and pool bar - has very good food and drinks. In a quiet location, about 15-20 minutes from the main town of Trincomalee.
