Reviews for Zemchuzhina Hotel

Review 1:The front desk staff is generally inattentive and incompetent when it comes to paperwork; also, they only call their own taxi service. I would have called a different service but my room phone was broken.

Review 2:The facilities and breakfast are very good for the price in Vladivostok. It is also centrally located by the train station. The rooms are clean and well appointed with modern furnishings.

Review 3:Bad smell (Dead fish smell) in the room when we just get in, but disappear after few hours. Noise from the pipe system was a little bit disturb.

Review 4:Location is good, not far from railway station. Staff can speak english. The room is new and larger than we expected.

Review 5:Pillows were a bit stiff, but that is a personal preference and not indicative of the hotel products

Review 6:The staff was kind, the location is lovely and the accommodations are well maintained. The breakfast was tasty too. I really enjoyed the stay. They helped us feel comfortable.

Review 7:I hope that the promotion of the Studio often happens. I was a little disappointed when the promotion of the Studio is over but I appreciate this hotel for supplying me the chances to stay in the good studio for a week.

Review 8:I have stayed in the studio, the single room, and the twin room. The studio was quite good but single room and twin room wasn't so clean and warm. But this hotel supply a good breakfast buffer for free, and this is one of merit for single traveler to save money.

Review 9:The bed sags in the middle, past its use by date. Have to shower in unusable jacuzzi tub, lumps and ridges underfoot making it rather dangerous, shower water goes everywhere when you shower.

Review 10:Friendly staff, good central location, near railway station, walking distance to town centre, breakfast included I price, a little quirky made for a great experience. Best of all, do eat at Brothers Bar across the road, excellent place to eat.

Review 11:slowest reception ever, prepare to often wait ages for whatever you need. breakfast not great, coffee is horrible but luckily the machines are often out of order so you'll have to wisely revert on tea

Review 12:good location, decent room furniture. friendliness of reception staff depends a lot on who you deal with, mostly ok but with exceptions. good wifi

Review 13:No problems at all.

Review 14:Good room rate, and better facilities than more expensive hotels in Vladivostok. Good buffet breakfast. Good Wi-Fi connection.

Review 15:bed was uncomfortable. sauna was only for an extra fee

Review 16:breakfast was better than in the Hyundai, which is - literally - 4x the price. not quite as many options, but they're nice.

Review 17:- Smell from toilet (no exhaust fan) - cannot Jacuzzi and Shower room 608 - cannot use sauna - some strong smell food - only city view

Review 18:+ (Studio) Furniture and Teapot !!! + Studio size and price + Studio Electric Radiator and Air Conditioner + Location near Vladivostok station + Breakfast and Dinner

Review 19:Just amazing hotel ! Huge double room with all amenities !!! Great breakfast with plenty choises ! Close to the train station and to the city center !

Review 20:3 stars max, overall impression -not bad to spend a night or two, but far from the venue "de luxe". Location is not very central as well as panorama opening from the hotel's window.

Review 21:value for money paid

Review 22:Wifi connection in the rooms is weak. We forgot couple of things in our room when checking out, requested the hotel to send us our things by post (we live in Moscow and probably will not return to Vladivostok any time soon). The hotel replied that we have to arrange for someone to come and pick up our stuff as they do not provide these kinds of services. In addition, the storage facility only requires you to say your name to pick up anything you leave there.

Review 23:Clean, good location, good breakfast, comfortable beds, towels changed everyday, water cooler, free wifi, cafe with a wide-range menu in the building.

Review 24:In Russia it was above standard. Especially the bathroom was in western standard. The room was quite clean but old carpet and furniture certainly was not perfect and a bit smells. But in Russia still good value for paid price. Staff was helpful and they a bit understand English. But if you do not speak Russian you will have definitely problem - but not only in hotel. The same is taxi and other services.

Review 25:1. The swivel that holds the shower head could not handle the water pressure. I had to hold the shower head while taking shower. 2. The check in process was a bit slow for my toddler to get tired.

Review 26:1. Nice room 2. Water Pressure 3. Breakfast buffet

Review 27:not characteristic room, uncomfortable bad, smelly blanket. Just a room with usual facilities.

Review 28:Close to the railway station, supermarket. Good breakfast.

Review 29:very poor service skill by ppl in front desk. no one could speak english and even not try to figure out how we have trouble.

Review 30:good location and good interior. we had balcony in our room and breakfast was ok.

Review 31:Wifi account allows just one device connection, and the speed is not so good. Some staffs need to be more polite. They don't have small cash, so I had to pay by credit card.

Review 32:Easy to go nearly every attractive sites in Vladivostok.

Review 33:Breakfast was poor quality. I don't eat meat or chicken. There were boiled egg but no omelette. No fruit except very poor quality apples and orange cut into pieces and some more from cans. I asked for bread and was told that it is finished. And I was in time for breakfast so it didn't make sense that bread will finish within one hour. When I complained, then they did bring bread within seconds. The coffee machine listed various options but actually no coffee was available. I was told that the machines don't work as no water. So there are many traces of old Soviet style service and the staff looked indifferent. Obviously the hotel management hasn't bothered to train them well.

Review 34:Basically clean and comfortable. Staff are helpful when approached but look indifferent.

Review 35:smell of Durian in corridor rooms very small wake up call to go to airport 20mins late and no apology poor value compared to other places we stayed in Russia Poor breakfast with worst coffee i've ever had Don't know how this place gets an average score of 8......!!!

Review 36:central location One nice staff member at check in but rest of them indifferent to serving customers

Review 37:The staff of the hotel was not particularly welcoming. The hotel has a serious problem with ventilation. It was stinking in the coridor and ther was no ventilation in the bathroom which made it moldy and stinking too. This has to be fixed. Wi fi connection was weak and frequently unstable. Breakfast looked very odd. The pricing of products in the hotel is outrageously over the margin. You can buy here champaign for 700 rubles which in a local supermarket 5 meters outside the hotel will cost only 280 rubles. 300% margin on price is simply a rip off and does not encourage consumption at the premises. The main advantage of the hotel is its location.

Review 38:Location

Review 39:the toilet smell doen't ventilate, so we are a little bit disgusted.

Review 40:we are fully satisfred with breakfast. It is really nice. And the location is nice. Near the hotel, there is sevenfeet resturant. it is really closed with hotel. It takes about 5 minutes by walk. And that is great. Last night we had dinner , we could find beautiful sunset of vladivostok. we are strongly recommnand this hotel and sevenfeet restaurants.

Review 41:We travelled with two children and we booked a room of max 4 people. When we got there there was one double bed and a sofa. It wasn't a sofa bed. I realised that each extra bed costs 1500 Rub per night. We needed 2 extra beds and that could cost 9000 rub for 3 nights. Anyway we decided not to ask extra beds and I slept on the sofa. Anyone travelling with young children please mind that you have to pay for the extra bed.

Review 42:There were two beds in my room and one was worse than the other - uncomfortable! The only way to get air in the room was to keep the balcony door open which seemed too unsafe. Very still stagnant air. Poor quality cold cuts in the breakfast buffet and impure water in the water filters. Despite the fact that there was staff at the breakfast, they had to be asked to replenish plates. Couldn't get through to ask direction questions by phone. Got hung up on, then music played incessantly and none picked up.When emailed, the person who responded was very imprecise.

Review 43:Balcony and view of water lovely and room very clean. Check in easy and registration done quickly, automatically and for no additional cost. Location quite good.

Review 44:The buffet breakfast was tedious made worse that we needed to extend our stay longer than planned. Chose to eat elsewhere. Plenty of options nearby

Review 45:Good price close to all the places you would want to go to or see. It may be bland but it is comfortable and the service is response.

Review 46:Restaurant closed before their advertised time. Staff were not very friendly, both at front desk and in restaurant. Door/lobby staff were supportive and friendly.

Review 47:It was nice to have an in-building restaurant.

Review 48:The room was very, very small and smelt of haggis...

Review 49:The staff were very friendly, and the cafe/restaurant at the hotel served excellent food. Good location for station and sightseeing too.

Review 50:Wifi times not consistent in room.

Review 51:Staff were very helpful. Secure parking for our motorbike. Close to highway. Large room. Good Chinese restaurant on premises. Walking distance to Supermarkets.

Review 52:Nothing

Review 53:This was our first stop in Russia, hotel staff spoke a little English which was very helpful. The room was comfortable and as described. The included breakfast was a buffet and plenty to choose from. We also ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner and the food was excellent. It was good to have on-site parking. The hotel is walking distance to the train and ferry terminal.

Review 54:For me, the bed was too soft. The wifi in the room was only 4mps.

Review 55:The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke good English. I liked being a 5 minute walk from the train station and harbor terminal. Nice to have a real Russian breakfast with all the veggies, soup and breads.

Review 56:There was frankly a foul smell coming from the toilet plumbing in the bathroom, so one had to keep the door closed. There is no bathroom window, so one has to 1) open the bathroom door, 2) open the balcony window, and 3) ventilate the whole room. The hotel needs to fix this problem.

Review 57:The bed was comfortable with a nice overhead reading lamp. The room was clean and quiet enough. It is good for the solo or budget traveler, and is conveniently close to the railway station, where one can either travel by train, or take the shuttle van to the airport very cheaply.

Review 58:Asked for a double bed but got two singles (both times we stayed there - hope you are not going there for a romantic weekend!) but otherwise were very satisfied with the hotel.

Review 59:Helpful staff, comfortable and with good facilities. A good breakfast and the restaurant was quite good as well.

Review 60:tobacco smell in some rooms

Review 61:good location - just few minutes walk from railway and aeroexpress terminal very close to the city core good wifi very friendly and helpful staff

Review 62:Extremly rood personnell. They don't speak english at all. the rooms are very cold in winter. the price should be twice as cheap for that way of service.

Review 63:The best possible location. Just 5 min away from the railway station

Review 64:Old soviet union style in each detail reminds me the history of this hotel

Review 65:Location, friendly english speaking staff, big room (suit) with huge jacuzzi

Review 66:They need an English tour map for us non-russians. Pointing out their location and the various historic places. Used a phone app that worked fairly well...but could use a nice printed map Encourage the front desk people to smile and act happy you are the guest.

Review 67:The hotel is really close to train station, walking distance to most scenery in the area.

Review 68:Too visible and obvious security guys by the entrance. I know it's needed but could be more discrete. Parking lot could be solved better.

Review 69:Courteous staff. Very good standard of the room. Quietly operating air condition. Balcony.

Review 70:No English / international TV channels Breakfast service not until 7.30 so no good if you want an early start

Review 71:Booked standard room both trips but the second room I got was much better (air con, nice bed, cleaner and well appointed). This was on third floor. First time I stayed the room was more basic but fine. Clean. Helpful staff speaking English Free wifi works ok Not bad breaskfast Location good

Review 72:Breakfast could be served earlier: 8:30 am is a bit late (we had lo depart earlier so missed it).

Review 73:Fair location, small but clean and comfy rooms, extremely friendly and helpful staff.

Review 74:One of the staff was very grumpy and unhelpful but the rest were amazing. The hotel didn't have any maps of the local area which was strange (but when I asked about a particular type of store they printed off a map to give me the directions which was good).

Review 75:The room had a second room with a second TV and a couch which was fantastic. Breakfast was good.

Review 76:basically nothing

Review 77:Top Location (close to the trainstation & harbour); friendly & english speaking staff; very good breakfast with lots of choices (for me the best breakfast i had in 3 weeks of russia); nice room with a new bathroom, free coffee and water on the room; rooms to the back are very quiet

Review 78:Friendly staff and several spoke English. The location is convenient for the train station and most tourist attractions. There is a very good 24 hour supermarket very close by.The rooms are clean, functional and have everything that you need for a comfortable stay in Vladivostok. The wifi was good and the Buffett breakfast very satisfactory. The receptionist organised a takeaway box of food for breakfast as we were leaving early to go to the airport.

Review 79:in the room, there is some smell, not sure what's it, some like glue, some like long time nobody lived in

Review 80:the receiption english very good, much better than other hotel; also the breakfast is good

Review 81:Very noisy rooms if your room is on the front side. There is a road just in front of the hotel with heavy traffic. Had to close the window in order to get any sleep. recommend asking for a room facing the back. The bathroom had only one roll of toilet paper and when that ran out... So, make sure you ask the housekeeping to bring extra if that's the case.

Review 82:The location is pretty good being not far from the main train station... It's up on the hill, so if you have mobility issues, please consider that. The rooms are roomy and clean. Breakfast buffet included in the room rate was adequate. There is hot / cold drinkable water cooler by the elevator. There is also some mineral water in the room (gas + non gas). So no need to purchase mineral water at the store. Free WiFi worked well. Overall, I am happy with our choice of the hotel. Will recommend to friends.

Review 83:All the staff was very ok but one of the reception ladies was in a constant bad mood - maybe because she was older than the others?

Review 84:Everything was very well. I'll stay there again (in a "luxury" room) if I have to revisit Vladivostok.

Review 85:This is a good basic hotel at a reasonable price. Reception staff were friendly and spoke English. The in-house cafe had very good food at reasonable prices. Location was very convenient to all transport incl. Aero-Express to airport. I left too early for the free breakfast so without prompting staff arranged a bag lunch to go and haggled a good deal on a taxi to the airport.

Review 86:not much, don't stay in basic rooms, for very little extra get a suite (really a large room). No English language TV.

Review 87:good position, close to the station for airport access, quite, staff try to be helpful, we don't speak Russian, breakfast was reasonable for Russia.

Review 88:Rooms very well organized, bathroom excellent, staff very responsive in both English and Russian. Breakfast included in price was ample, served buffet style for convenience. The hotel is just five minutes (max) walk from train station and its Aeroexpress connection to the airport. This is a great choice, especially for a budget traveler who wants a clean, comfortable option. Note: no air conditioning, but a balcony door and fan for air circulation.

Review 89:deafening

Review 90:Good location-nearby railway station, bus stop, supermarket ...

Review 91:The jacuzzi is not working. Should let the guest know if they request the room with it in advance

Review 92:Staff are helpful and nice!

Review 93:Disinterested staff. Uncomfortable beds No coffee or tea sachets. had to buy myself from outside. Room phone does't work too

Review 94:Food very good

Review 95:That they had no capacity to take guests mail to the post office.

Review 96:It's convenient location

Review 97:They barely speak english

Review 109:I don't have any!

Review 110:Great location & great breakfast

Review 111:Helpfull staff. Easy transfer to the airport. In the Core of Vladivostok, but quiet neighbourhood. Supermarket near to the hotel.

Review 112:one of reception is rude, but the other is ok.I called it is Korean hotel, many of Korean choose to live there.

Review 121:not much.

Review 122:close to the station, clean room, good price. we are all three one room but enough space.

Review 123:Arrive at 2 am. Although the receptionist did not speak much English but willing to communicate.

Review 124:Can't walk at night for the safe reasion as residence said.
