Reviews for Hotel Cota 1400

Review 1:Explained above

Review 2:The worse hotel I have ever been too, first of all it was not that clean, very bad pillows and I had yo fight for 3 hours because the heating was off in winter...and ai am pregnant. The ambulance took me in the morning, I have all papers to prove this. A real nightmare hotel!

Review 3:The staff from reception was missing from the desk at my arrival, I had to search the hotel to find someone working there to check in. I made my reservation for one large bed and I found that they don't have this option, so, I had to make arrangement is the room to get comfortable. I didn't had a nice experience as I was thinking that could be.

Review 4:The single thing that I enjoyed was the view, it has a very nice view over the Sinaia and Prahova valley, also the price is not bad.

Review 5:Free parking near hotel (which is rare in Sinai) Great location as a starting point to reach Cota 2000 and amazing view. Staff was very kind and informative.

Review 6:old rooms and furniture; large menu but only 10% actually available; good wine list, only house wine available; had to wait 45 mins for simple breakfast order; visa and master card signs everywhere but system never worked during 2 nights stay (only cash accepted); payed cash for accommodation, received no receipt; no cleaning service during stay.

Review 7:good location clean

Review 8:Facilities are obsolete, the bathtub did not drain, make in it difficult to shower. The stuff was grumpy when asked to sort it out with the shower. The road to access the hotel is quite bumpy.

Review 9:Location is magnificent, rooms are large with balcony and clean. Price was alright with good food in restaurant. The hotel provide access to sauna and steam room plus game area for free.

Review 10:The view it s amazing but the hotel itself is so old. Furniture is falling apart, beds very noisy, stained carpet, even the window handle was broken. Such a shame.....

Review 11:Wi/Fi was bad but not horrible. I think some different routers or more can improve the quality. Where is the 313 room ?:)

Review 12:The view of the place inside and outside is fantastic, the stars and the fresh air also.. We also like the fact that we were able to play free pool or ping pong on the evenings.

Review 13:>10 years since they renovated. Sheets were dirty. No light on the balcony. Veeery old generation tv and bad signal. Breakfast not included. Road from Sinaia to the hotel is pretty bad at times.

Review 14:The location and view are spectacular. Easy access to transfortation to the sloaps.

Review 15:nothing

Review 16:The location - excellent for skiing in winter or for hikes in the summer, the staff, the quality of the reasonably priced food at the restaurant

Review 17:Hotel's interior design from 80's , not updated to modern standards, old furniture and fittings

Review 18:Location is excellent, easy access to nearby trekking paths, to Cota 2000, good location for bikers, skiers and for people who enjoy being in the middle of nature, outside noisy cities

Review 19:Old furniture, Old and broken bathroom accesories, no ventilation in the bathroom, old tv with dirty and not working remote control, dirty carpet, poor restaurant...

Review 20:The location of the hotel is nice but is quite far from Sinaia.

Review 21:I wasn't that lucky, so I got a very dirty room, shower with missing components and very low water pressure, no balcony, torn carpet, peeled windowsill. Girl receptionist courtesy.

Review 22:Amenities, big parking, the view. The road, if it wasn't awful, being in danger of falling into ravine.

Review 23:Restaurant: meals are half of what they tell you in the menu. Rooms: dirty, the ceiling is molded, the sheets weren't changed for 5 days, lot of dust, broken appliances. Personal: unfriendly attitude. Elevator: very moody, half of the time didn't worked. It's not a 3* hotel, to be avoided!

Review 24:The view is extraordinary, the air is clean and full of pine scent. The bathrooms are pretty clean and new and there is 24/7 hot water.

Review 25:When we reached the hotel, after a journey of 10 hours, I announced that we made an reservation via booking, and the guy from the reception asked if we " called to check the disponibility of the rooms ". He had no idea what booking.com means, or how it`s working, and he was at the reception, as the " receiving staff ", with an atitude that almost convinced me to cancel the reservation and to check another hotel. Luckly the young girl Raluca came after, and she solved the problem, in a very elegant and simpatic way. But is very frustrating to be received by such a guy, with such an atitude. We were 2 couples, and one room was very nice and very clean, and the other room was dirty and ugly. A huge difference between this 2 rooms. If the manager would improve the knowledges of his emloyes, and also they`re atitude, plus to clean all the rooms, not only a few, they would receive an great mark from our side.

Review 26:Nice view, good price

Review 27:- view from the balcony is amazing! Food at hotel's restaurant is delicious, fresh and staff is helpful! I recommend for those who really enjoy the fresh and clean air!

Review 28:Absolutely poor service. Dirty tables in restaurant. Expensive breakfast not of value for money. Staff smoking at reception.

Review 29:Clean rooms and towels

Review 30:No heating during the night.

Review 31:Nu existau papuci si nici feon, desi asa scria in descriere.

Review 32:Amplasare, curatenie, liniste, sauna.

Review 33:Dirty, poorly maintained room. Apathetic front desk staff Bed was uncomfortable

Review 34:The location and the restaurant service

Review 35:Beautiful view.

Review 36:Breakfast... not very hot - no toast.

Review 37:The road up in the ice

Review 38:Great location- not easy to get to or find

Review 39:- cold nights - bed - elevator - poor quality wifi (1/10 it worked, but slower than the romanian trains).

Review 40:cleanliness view space

Review 41:Staff need to working in another place not in hotel with guest.

Review 42:Food is not great

Review 43:Great location, acceptable room. It's good to have a balcony.

Review 44:At the time of our stay their card reader was not working. This was not a problem for us as we had enough cash, however it would have been very inconvenient if we didn't.

Review 45:We were the ONLY guests in the hotel on the night of our stay however the hotel remained open and they even opened the restaurant for us at 9pm after our late arrval. We had hiked on the plateau during the day so the location was excellent for us. The room was large and clean and it was great to relax in the bath after a long day. Staff were courteous.

Review 46:Internet was too slow but not a big deal.

Review 47:Great location, excellent ski pass discount, nice rooms and the balcony was great. Food is good at the restaurant, excellent service Great overall stay

Review 48:The room felt a little chilly and damp in the afternoons; as it was the shoulder season, the heating did not seem to be on (although the temperature outside dropped to 1C at night). There was not enough hot water for two people to shower on our second morning, which was not ideal. The hotel restaurant was technically open but we never saw any staff around in the evenings, or other customers. As the other restaurants and food stalls open in accordance with cable car operating hours, this means that you do need to check whether the hotel restaurant will be open in the evening, or bring provisions up from town - however, with a car, you could drive down into town to eat at night. Without a car, you will be dependent on the cable car for getting here and back down into town. You should bear in mind that it stops running by 1700 (the "telegondola" service may run later), and also factor the costs into your budget.

Review 49:We stayed here in September 2013. We booked this for the location, rather than the facilities, and were not disappointed. The location is incredible, halfway up a mountain and just metres from the Cota 1400 and 2000 cable car stations. The views are fantastic and you can either set off from the hotel on hikes or head up to Cota 2000 to go from there. Our room was fine - clean, reasonably comfortable (including TV), and with a large balcony. The bathroom was OK, although there was very little hot water on our second morning. It was a clean, quiet, fairly comfortable place to sleep: no more, no less. The hotel has a bar and a restaurant. The bar has great views and good, cheap wine. If you want to spend your time in Sinaia, with a choice of restaurants to walk to in the evening, don't stay here. If you don't mind bringing some provisions/driving down the mountain and want fantastic views, then this is a good option. The location is the hotel's main asset.
