Reviews for First Cabin Hakata

Review 1:Showers are in an open bathroom. That is, there are no stalls, and everyone is out in the nude. This is on par for the course for an onsen, but a little weird and uncomfortable for a hotel.

Review 2:This property is clean and comfortable. Best of all, it's located centrally, right next to public transportation and in the heart of a downtown area.

Review 3:The bed was extremely hard! Have to be lucky with your neighbors in the capsule.. I had one that let his alarm ring for 30 minutes at 6 am

Review 4:Big capsule and looks new

Review 5:That was my first time staying in a capsule hotel and I think I made a great choice! The bed (and the capsule) was surprisingly comfortable and since there was a prohibition on making noise (and the fact that everyone obeyed it), I didn't worry about being annoyed by other guests. The amenities was also complete (the night face lotion!).

Review 6:I felt really uncomfortable in the showers because even though there are stalls for each shower head there is no curtain or door... The cleaning times were a bit too long for me cuz I took a day off, no travelling or sightseeing, and I literally had to hold in my pee until 3pm. But then again you can always go downstairs to the public washrooms!

Review 7:The location, literally in the same building as the Nakasu subway station. Just have to take the elevator up. The interior was simple and gave a clean fresh feeling. Staff were very friendly

Review 8:No bad experience whatsoever.!

Review 9:Great location in the downtown, excellent (direct) connection with the airport, cleaniness (all the towels, pyjamas, slippers, linen are changed every day), excellently equipped and manaded toilet/spa area with a full fange of body/face care Shiseido cosmetics, perwect showers, sinks, spa pool, high privacy, luxurous treatment for reasonably small money, perfect staff and management, free wi-fi, tv and locker in each cabin, overal high aesthetics of the hotel, the building and surroundings.. I rate this hotel the highest among all hotels/hostels of the similar room rate I have stayed in different countries up to now.

Review 10:Wifi connection is weak inside the cabin

Review 11:Location is excellent right above exit 4 of nakasu kawabata subway station and near the shopping arcades and Kushida Shrine

Review 12:Just a curtain is closing the cabine, Noisy with people walking by and snoring. Staff has limited English. Bed a little bit hard for me.

Review 13:Excellent location, access direct from metro station with a lift. Very clean shower/toilets and cabins. Provide towels and sleeping clothes. No cell phones and no TV noise as they provide headphones

Review 14:Most guests abide and respect the quiet policy in the capsule roomarea, but noise from the sliding screen doors of each capsule mightdistract you from sleep. However, foam earplugs are available forfree at the front desk. Also, headsets are available to watch tv inyour capsule.

Review 15:This was super easy to find! It's right there at "Nakasu-Kawabata Station" (subway Airport line), exit 4, take elevator tothe 8th floor. Staff spoke English, the capsule rooms are clean, withall amenities provided. I will definitely stay at the other FirstCabins in Japan!

Review 16:No complaints

Review 17:Great location, easily accessible with the subway, fast wifi, super friendly and helpful staff. The cabin is comfortable and everything is clean, the toilets / showers / spa. Almost too good.

Review 18:I liked everything about this hotel. But if you want to spend a half of your day here it is no idea. This hotel is for people who come to the hotel to take bath and to sleep.

Review 19:Everything is clean and modern. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great location: it is in the centre of Fukuoka, subway station Nakasukawabata is in the same buildning. I thank the manegment and the staff of the hotel. Arigato! <3

Review 20:I would really, really enjoy check-out at 11 and 2 towels :) But that's just me whining about getting up early.

Review 21:The best thing is the location right in the middle of everything. The place is clean with friendly staff and I've always had a pleasurable stay there.

Review 22:I've booked this capsule hotel last minute because I decided to stay in Hakata for one night because of the ramen. What Ann experience! The rooms are clean and pyjamas are offered. The WiFi signal is good but the common area for shower was the best: besides being clean, on each sink a complete set of skin care was offered, from cleaning oil to emulsion. All Shiseido! A must-try!

Review 23:The building is in the clubbing and night entertainment district. If you are female and travel alone, you may be concerned.

Review 24:Clean, economical, direct access to subway.

Review 25:It's a capsule hotel, expect less privacy and potentially noisy neighbors.

Review 26:Was a great comfortable capsule hotel experience. Really liked the airplane theme.

Review 27:Need storage for suit case although you can bring it to the front for the staff to keep it for you.

Review 28:Love the location. The drug store & supermarket in B1 floor is very well price and provide a place to shop.

Review 29:The room I stayed in had no sound insulation. I was constantly woken up by people in nearby rooms coming and going.

Review 30:Location in Hakata is convenient for sightseeing and proximity to Fukuoka airport. The onsen style bath was great to relax in after a day sightseeing.

Review 31:"1st class" cabin shutter does not seal off completly from the walkway leaving an 8 inch gap at the top and bottom, resulting in light pouring into the cabin and noise. Does not make for a good nights sleep if you prefer darkness

Review 32:Clean and modern, good location and facilities.

Review 33:I had to wait until 5 pm to check-in. Luckily I had arrived in the afternoon and simply had gone for a walk having left my luggage with the Reception. No English language TV.

Review 34:The place is spotless, almost sterile, very good bathing facilities but extra towels have to be paid for. Relaxing in the hot pool would be even more pleasureable if some soft music could be heard.

Review 35:Cabin area was heated too much

Review 36:Everything is maintained very well and kept extremely clean. Staff are excellent. Earplugs are provided and are essential. Best quality capsule I have stayed in.

Review 37:There was no space for my suitcase so it had to stay overnight outside the room, but in Japan that's not dangerous.

Review 38:I primarily liked the location, within walking distance to Tenji, Gion and Hakata.

Review 39:- My stay at the Cabin Hotel was great. At the center of the city is an excellent option. - The staff is perfect and all the receptionists are excellent, specially the girl who gave me the present at my depart and the one who speaks korean. - All is great and clean. - I will repeat if I go again to Fukuoka. Extra: Thanks for the present ^^

Review 40:The room was a bit cold, but mostly perfect

Review 41:Extremely clean facilities, good location and efficient price. This capsule hotel's quality is similar to average hostel - air conditioned and adequate shower room, not like "traditional Japanese house hostel" which is extremely cold house. If you travel in Japan in winter, I would recommend you to stay this kind of hotel - otherwise you'll die in the freezing room.

Review 42:The strictly enforced late check-in time of 5pm is a little annoying if you arrive after a long journey and want to take a nap in the afternoon. However, if you aren't tired, you can leave your luggage in their care and go out. The other thing was that between cleans, the toilet/bathroom area can get a bit dirty. Nothing super disgusting, certainly better than most hostels, but one morning I went to the toilet and th whole floor was sticky under my slippers. Another night I had a bath quite late at night, and there was a bit of rubbish on the floor. Still, these are minor things, and I still booked another night there a week later!

Review 43:This place is great value for money. The location is superb, the beds are comfortable, the staff are excellent and the facilities are (mostly) very clean. Wifi was great too.

Review 44:If you plan on sleeping at night, this is not the place to be. The hotel is above a night club! Was awaken at 5am to club music. The next night I never even got to sleep. The music started around 6pm continued till 4 am. It was incredibly loud. Even the earplugs they provided did not help. It was so bad that i canceled my last night. They tried to only give me half of the price but i insisted on a full redund and got it

Review 45:Facilities were nice. Central location. Clean.

Review 46:There is a pub or something in downstairs, so it was noisy and I could feel the vibration while I am lying on the bed ....it could be really annoying.

Review 47:It's really clean and makes me feel comfortable to stay....i could have completely private space..

Review 48:It's a capsule hotel so there is no door for your bed. There is only thin curtain. You need to be very very quiet in your own bed.

Review 49:Great location, Hi-speed wifi connection, Very clean, Good facilities, Clean toilets, nice public bath and dressing room, comfortable bed as well.

Review 50:It didn't bother me so much, but just a privacy screen on the cabin instead of a lockable door my not suit everyone.

Review 51:Very clean and comfortable capsule / cabin hotel in Hakata, Fukuoka. Facilities excellent, albeit shared bathroom and shower section. Felt safe and undisturbed. Will definitely use again as great value.

Review 52:Was a little bit difficult to find.

Review 53:Large Hot bath available 24 hours Bedroom was comfortable and had all the space I could possibly need. Internet access in the room enabled me to get a lot of work done

Review 54:Had to packed my luggage in the common room since did not want to disturb other guests.

Review 55:Location, cleanliness, facilities, staff are friendly and communicable in english.

Review 56:Perfect. Best capsule hotel ive ever seen. I had a upper class capsule (2×3m) for the same money as a normal capsel (i think it was a special offer).

Review 57:I said "almost" because the reduced time that rooms are available (check in at 5 pm and check out at 10 am). This is very bad for a nice place like First Cabin.

Review 58:Almost everything in this compact hotel is nice.

Review 59:Door separating cabins from bathroom/common area needs a damper as each time it closes it thuds and shakes the walls. Bath has no jets.

Review 60:Sleek, modern style. Large cabins/capsules. Clean and bright bathroom. Close to transport, restaurants and museums.

Review 61:wifi in first class room barely worked, first class not really worth the money unless you have large luggage

Review 62:Bathroom/shower facilities, very helpful staff, great location, fast wifi in business class

Review 63:24hrs checking also means 24 hours potential noise.

Review 64:24hrs checking hour is good for the tourist who not only arrival at Fukuoka at nite but also need to spend time in Hakata station for buying JR pass. Equipments are out standing for backpackers.

Review 65:The pillow. It was uncomfortable .

Review 66:My second time at first cabin was better than my first. I guess weekdays is better than weekends cause there's no club music banging. Got a massage near the hotel, it was great. Overall, this time was better.

Review 67:Bath is not jetted. Sliding entryway door to cabin area slams every time someone opens/closes it causing a loud thud to interrupt sleep at times.

Review 68:Large capsules. Big enough to stand up. Personal lock box in cabin/capsule. Free lockers for additional items. Futuristic-looking hotel. Modern bathroom had plenty of stalls and basins - kept very clean. Very professional staff. Good central city location.

Review 69:The weird Smell, Clubbing noise and the Female Manager Ms. Exxxxx (she wears a pair of black glasses and never smile. and very rude... very very rude and she will stare at you like she wants to start a fight!)

Review 70:Location, Big Bath, Clean

Review 71:My one proble was that my particular bed was on the other side of the wall from the door to the main sleeping area. While it was dampened so as not to slam, it still sent strong vibrations into my cabin, which hindered my sleep. Avoid beds F27-30 of you can.

Review 72:Right in the best area of Hakata. Staff excellent as always.

Review 73:Noise from nearby building was loud but bearable.

Review 74:Staff was very polite and eager to help. The bed was clean and comfortable. Amenities like makeup remover and face lotion were also provided in the bathroom.

Review 75:The location is really nice, on the 8th fl. of GATE'S (building name) connected to Nakasukawabata Subway Station which is only 2 stations from Tenjin. Plus there are many shops & restaurants around the accommodation! Even it is a cabin without private bathroom, it's clean & tidy! (I don't know about men's bathroom) It's quiet since they do not allow you to talk or turn on any sound in your cabin. So you will sleep easily. (No worry. You can make some noise in the living area) On Saturday night, it's a bit noisy so i gotta get earplugs from the reception. (I think it's a music from the upper floor and i don't know it happens every Saturday night or not. But it's just one night! So i don't really mind) But most of all, the staff is the main reason that made me gotta recommend others to stay at First Cabin Hakata. They don't fluently speak English but they try so hard to assist me. Plus they are polite with great service-mind. So! This place is really perfect for you if you travel alone! :)
