Reviews for Prie Mariu
Review 1:We had a beautiful room with a view of the lagoon. It had all the amenities, including a comfortable sitting area and a great bathroom. Breakfast was very good.
Review 2:The staff insisted on paying with cash even though there was a card terminal. No receipt was given. Breakfast rather basic. The heaters did not work, it was very cold in the room. Stinky wardrobe, spiders in the room and canteen. Leaking shower. Wifi did not work at all.
Review 3:Excellent location, a few meters to the water and 15 min walking to the town center. Building really nice from outside.
Review 4:Definitely price should be less. I would pay maximum 40 EUR for the Room (Lux)
Review 5:Location was OK, with bicycles it will take you about 10 minutes to the city center, very nice garden, staff in general OK, breakfast not so bad as well.
Review 6:We could see into another room's bathroom through our terrace. Did not bother us, but it was awkward for the guests of another room. The owners were very pushy trying to convince us to pay in cash even though we said that it would cost us a lot to take cash out with a foreign card. At the end we paid by card.
Review 7:Big spacious room. We had a nice big terrace with a lovely view of Kursiu Marios.
Review 8:Location of the hotel is a bit far from Nida town centre. Walking backwards and forwards can get a bit tiring. Good thing is you can rent bicycles. I would recommend that!
Review 9:Quiet location, beautiful views of Kursiu Marios. The owners made us feel like part of their family.
Review 10:Wifi wouldn't reach our room. The price seemed a little pricey for Lithuania, but understandable seeing as we were there during the high season
Review 11:The location, the fact that it faces the waterfront, clean rooms, fresh linen, comfy beds, beautiful front garden, very friendly hostess
Review 12:Beautiful view, very clean, towels changed every day, very comfortable bed. Good location. Very friendly staff, bikes available as well as taxi in case if you get tired while cycling! Excellent!
Review 13:Sehr gute ruhige Lage dikekt am Kurischen Haff. Ortskern auf schöner Promenade schnell erreichbar. Balkonzimmer sehr schön und geräumig, Frühstück und wahlweise Abendessen sehr gut. Service sehr freundlich, familiär- auch deutschsprachig. Taxidienst von und zur Bushaltestelle.
Review 14:Nice hotel, but we were the only ones staying that night so the rooms felt a bit disused since summer. Friendly, accommodating staff. 10-15 min walk into Nida along the lagoon front.
Review 15:Nice atmospheric room with lots of wood. Loved the balcony with lagoon view and to enjoy the sunshine. Friendly host, gives good advices on the region. Has good bicycles fro rent at a reasonable price. Breakfast buffet with lots of choice in the room with wide lagoon views. Quiet location at a nice stroll along the lagoon from the village centre. Recommendable place to stay!
Review 16:Quite a distance fron Nida, we visited late September by which time few restaurants were open and a long walk was necessary to reach these.
Review 17:Balcony view over the lagoon, nice room.
Review 18:We had a higher end room which I found to be smaller than expected or than it looked in the pictures. There was no soap in the bathroom. The price is pretty high for an off-season accommodation.
Review 19:Great location by the water. The breakfast was nice, the lady was trying to accommodate everyone and interacted with the guests as if everyone was at home, nice. Room was clean and well equiped.
Review 20:The owner of the property made an extra effort to feed us vegetarian food at any hour that we needed, despite not really knowing English. We felt so much at home!
Review 21:Breakfast starts rather late for active persons. No public rooms to gather (e.g. like a little bar). An outdoor restaurant would be great at this location.
Review 22:Very personal breakfast (warm dishes likes eggs, blinis, ...) are brought to the table and you take what you like. Beautiful location close to the water and by a promenade walk connected to the center. Architecture fits well to surrounding nature.
Review 23:Very clean and cozy rooms, pro-active, friendly and helpful multilingual staff, beautiful tranquil location some 15 min walk away from town centre. A very positive element of our short stay in Nida!
Review 24:I struggled to find a good restaurant in town but I sould have asked the owners at the beginning as they were very helpful and gave us some good tips on what to do and where to go.
Review 25:The location and nature was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a perfect stay for people looking for a relaxing and quiet escape from the city.
Review 26:WIFI wasn't working in the room so I had to go to use it in the reception.
Review 27:Amazing view. You can rent a bike or use free parking outside. Staff was very nice and room was very clean.
Review 28:Nothing
Review 29:Great location, very quiet place away from street noise, great view and lovely garden! Good breakfast with hot meal (pancakes from hostess are very tasteful) - it is more that we expected for the price we paid. Owners are very friendly and helpful. We do not know about other rooms but we had kitchen in the room with fridge and kettle (Economy Double Room).
Review 30:cosy room, nice surrounding area
Review 31:large room with balcony, sufficient parking space, TV with German channels, nice breakfast buffet
Review 32:Room quite small
Review 33:Great location war walking in to Nida
Review 34:No bad issues
Review 35:They were very friendly and efficient and it is in a beautiful location.
Review 36:Very friendly.
Review 37:It was quite cold in the room, no toiletries in the bathroom, expensive
Review 38:Nice location, room was spacious
Review 39:Limited soap and no shampoo in room. Towels very worn!
Review 40:Positive greeting and welcome and good location.
Review 41:Very quiet place and very nice owner.
Review 42:Amazing and very welcoming place. Booked for 3 nights only but extended for another 2. Will definitely go back, highly recommended. Thank you
Review 43:The summer rate is a bit of a rip-off. It is way too expensive for what you get
Review 44:The owner's smile and energy: she's amazing!
Review 45:Lovely lady to deal with, I love Mariu Krantas and Nida!!!! Highly recommend to all!!!
Review 46:Amazing place and Owner
Review 47:Location!
Review 48:Everything was great. Sea 20m away, Staff helpful and nice, breakfast good.
Review 49:hoist of the best of the best!!!!
Review 50:nothing special
Review 51:Quiet and comfortable. Noise proof and excellent view to the water from balcony
Review 52:Need to pay 17 eur to go to the island by car Room is a bit wet
Review 53:very nice view Staff are very friendly
Review 54:Hosts are very friendly Great seaside location
Review 55:Nothing bad to say about the place.
Review 56:Very clean, friendly staff, good breakfast. Would recommend to everyone
Review 57:Location Interesting building Nice breakfast Friendly hostess
Review 58:A bit expensive and old fashioned.
Review 59:Breakfast are really delicious, nice little balcony for a cozy morning coffee.
Review 60:There is nothing to object.
Review 61:The beautiful scenery, the peaceful ambiente, the location all in all. We certainly would like to return to the place.
Review 62:The breakfast was a bit poor and time for breakfast is very limited: 8:30-9:30 a.m. If you will come after 9 a.m., almost nothing will be left from breakfast
Review 63:Location is just amazing! Clean and warm rooms
Review 64:At bathroom there was only a hand soap. There weren't any shower gel or shampoo, after the long ride with bicycles it would be great but it was the only minus for this hotel.
Review 65:The room was great - with balcony and view to the Lagune.
Review 66:We didn't have breakfast because it wasn't included and we thought that the extra money we were asked (7 euros pp) was a lot. As another guest already mentioned they accept cash payments and they charge an extra fee of 3 euros if you want to pay by credit card. This policy was not mentioned neither at our booking terms nor at the booking web site. Since we stayed only for one night, we had enough cash and we paid in cash, but I am sure this might cause inconvenience to someone who is staying longer. Moreover, we weren't given any receipt!
Review 67:Although the hotel is located about 1 km away from the Nida town centre, the walk or the ride is so scenic that you can hardly notice the distance. Upon arrival we appreciated the map and the informations/instructions/recommendations we were given. Our room was simple but clean. The free parking was a bonus.
Review 68:A lovely hotel, great view of the Bay where the swans were in in large quantities. The hostess serves tasty home-cooked breakfasts. The young man kindly recommended the places to be visited. We will definitely stay here again!
Review 69:Almost all visitors were russian speaking. That was not so good for us only because of too many political discutions and conversations.
Review 70:Owners are very nice people. They speak russion or English without problems. Hotel is 20 minutes from the city center, what was quit good for us: silente, no problem with parking.
Review 71:The service was very poor. On the second morning, the staff "forgot" our breakfast. The staff was cleaning the breakfast room for the evening-diner....although it was only 9.00 a.m. (breakfast time was 8.30 to 10.00 a.m.) After asking why there was no more breakfast, they even did not apologize for their mistake. Less civility in this hotel for the price you pay...
Review 72:The place is really wonderful, close to the Kuršių marios.
Review 73:Had I known we would have an electric tea- pot without any tea or coffee I would have bought some before arriving. It is always very nice to have a nice cup of tea to enjoy this marvelous panorama
Review 74:The envirement, Peace you can breath in this place. . Although the weather was still cold we really enjoyed it- Owner is very gentle.
Review 75:First and the main thing the room and the bathroom were too cold. Bathroom was always cold and heating in heating in the room was off at night till the morning. So later we couldn't do anything else in exept of sleeping. Secondly, cash payments are prefferred because fee of 3 EUR is taken for the payments by credit card. I found that strange as I never had a similar problem anywhere else.
Review 76:The hotel was well located abut 1 km to the Nida town centre, also 5 min walk from the famous former summer house and present museum of a writer, Nobel prize winner Thomas Mann. The room was simple but clean, the bed was comfortable and the water in shower was hot. Also the building we stayed was very calm even if not empty. That is a huge advantage.
Review 77:No negative sides to this hotel. We all really enjoyed it.
Review 78:Very beautiful place. Excellent view of the sea. Friendly staff. Very tasty lunch. Silence. Comfortable and clean room. Free parking is available.
Review 79:Lack of shampoo or shower gel. But... We got 5 rolls of toilet paper asa compensation. :)
Review 80:Spacious room with free wi-fi and large smart tv, excellent view tolagoon and balcony with chairs and table. Location is very beautiful andit was nice to live there despite the fact that's hotel is 15minutes away (by foot) from city center. Staff is very friendly. We're really happy with our hotel choice.
Review 81:Unexpectedly expensive for such a place. Tens of small spiders inhabiting the balcony.
Review 82:Very accommodating stuff. Clean rooms. Beautiful view from the rooms looking on the seaside. Good location, a bit far from the center of Nida though (20 minutes walking). Great breakfast. A lot of parking slots around. Bicycles for rent are very useful considering great infrastructure for cycling.
Review 83:All good!
Review 84:The overall impression of our stay was Very Good! Nice staff who were very engaged and helped us with bikes that we rented from the hotel as well as with a fantastic recommendation of restaurant with excellent staff, interior and quality of the food! You will be pleasantly surprised with this very nice hotel!
Review 85:- Slightly too expensive for what you get (e.g. breakfast could be more rich, bikes should be for free at such rates) - More tables for breakfast outside could be provided - 3% will be added to bill if you pay with CC
Review 86:- Nice location within walking distance to Nida - Bike rental - Wonderful views and beautiful house with Garden - Very relaxing stay and quiet in the night - Nice staff and owners
Review 87:excellent food -breakfast and dinner- home-cooked, very tasty, mouthwatering traditional local recipes plus fruit and veg from the hotel'S garden very nice friendly cheerful owners ideal location, right on the seashore in quiet part of nida, intresting old traditional building and wonderful fruit/vegetable garden
Review 88:No fridge in the room.
Review 89:Just fantastic!!! Have you ever heard that a hotel owner and guests kissgood-bye when guests are leaving? In other words - a unique atmosphere, very warm and non-official.Excellent location just on the beach, stylish rooms with wooden furniture, a very good breakfast.
Review 90:Incompetent reception staff - it took him 15 mins just to find us in the register as he was looking at the wrong date; the room was not ready and we asked if we could get some stuff out of the luggage and leave it there he said we could leave the luggage but won t wait for us to take anything as he was rushing to get to town. The supposed check in time is 2 pm but the room was not ready until 3pm - reception s excuse was that guests left late but the most likely explanation is that cleaning staff showed up late for work at 1:15
Review 91:The rooms (we have booked economy) were clean, fairly comfortable and overall good value for money. The hotel offered bicycle rental which wad very convenient.Mostly mature guests as opposed to families with young children - more quiet and relaxed atmosphere compared with the rest of Nida.
Review 92:Shuttle driver from the ferry knew right where to go. Offered a few room options. Helpful, down to earth staff told us what other cities to go to in the area.
Review 93:-Arrogant administrator at the reception -The bed was squeaky the first night but fixed it ourselves. The hostess was happy -The place is a bit away from the town centre, but it is good to have walks during vacation -We were not informed in advance of housekeeping service happening at noon
Review 94:-Very welcoming and friendly hostess -Very tasty breakfast on the shore of the lagoon -Great holiday atmosphere -Not many Lithuanians around
Review 95:We were happy with every aspect of our stay
Review 96:Lovely big rooms with french windows out on to a balcony overlooking the lagoon. Absolutely quiet except for the sound of the water. The guesthouse is located in a great spot away from the centre of Nida and it is a very pleasant 20 minute walk along the waterfront into town. There are fabulous cycle paths around Nida, including one along the waterfront in front of the guesthouse and you can rent bikes at the guesthouse. The Curonian peninsula is a wonderful unspoilt place - quiet woods, bird life and empty beaches. You can even cycle to the Russian border.
Review 97:The rooms are really small, have mini shower where only one person can fit. Each of them has small kitchen but it does not work, so you can not count on that. Beds are quite uncomfortable, no doubt they need to buy new pillows and bedding. To my point of view, it´s too expensive for what it offers.
Review 98:The place is incredible, in front of the sea, surrounded by pines. There is only tranquility and piece. The hotel is clean.
Review 99:We booked the room with the view on the bay (more expensive) - as we thought that means the view on the bay from the window - what was only partly true. the view from the window was on the opposite building, but if you went out onto the balcony you could have had seen the bay...
Review 100:Very nice and with a home atmosphere place. nice and cosy rooms. The owners very friendly.
Review 101:Perfect view through the windows - 50m from the lagoon. Room was clean and tidy, TV got upgraded during the stay, nice surprise. Convenient access and parking available.
Review 102:When we arrived the receptionist was talking over the phone and we had to wait until he finishes his call. When the receptionist saw our two children (1-year-old and 3-years-old), he started arguing whether it is allowed two children into one room with their parents or no and whether we shoudl pay extra or not. He was arguing for half an hour while showing us into our room. He did not check his own marketing facts until he left the room and went back to the reception. He was back with 5 minutes apologising he was wrong and there is allowed two children into the room with their parents! The receptionist made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. We don't recommend the hotel to families with children.
Review 103:The internet connection in our room wasn't very good, but we were able to do what we needed to do by sitting in the hotel office, where the connection was very strong, so it was fine.
Review 104:The location was at the end of Nida, and right on the coast, so the location was quiet and beautiful. Our room was simply furnished, and with everything we needed. The breakfast was very generous, and the hostess of Prie Mariu was very lively.
Review 105:WiFi was claimed, but never worked (no internet signal on the router)during our stay, as well as before we arrived. Would recommend thishotel if you can stay without internet.
Review 106:Exelent food, very freandly owner.
Review 107:Owners very friendly and accommodating. Position excellent overlooking the lagoon and easy to walk/cycle into Nida along the lagoon. Good buffet breakfast with different specials each day (eggs, pancakes, ...). Bikes available to borrow free of charge and boat trip organised for us.
Review 108:Small rooms, but you don't spend much time indoors anyway. Lots and lots of wasps and flies in some of the outdoor spaces, but I think that is inevitable on that side of the Spit outdoors.
Review 109:Nice location away from the main town (Nida), breakfast was decent, staff was friendly, bikes were available to rent on-site, wi-fi in public areas.
Review 110:Be aware that Prie Mariu is quite a walk from the center of Nida, which can be an issue given the unpredictability of the weather in Nida, where it can start pouring at any moment. When booking, I'd recommend avoiding the "category C" (the least expensive) rooms that are located in a separate building (we were in room 22). Due to the "A" shape of the upper floor, one entire side of these rooms is unmanageably crowded due to the low ceiling (if room 22 and the room next to it were combined and priced at a higher rate it would be a totally different story). If I were to stay there again I'd specifically request to be in one of the main buildings.
Review 111:The hotel is generally nice and the staff are helpful. The breakfast in the main building is very good. Overall, the hotel represents a good value.
Review 112:Strange not to find a little kettle with complimentary tea and coffee. Never been to little hotel without this. If you do not order breakfast, you are left without the pleasure of cup of coffee in the morning during holiday? Duvet covers not the newest in the world, specialy for the price. Very clean though.
Review 113:Really fresh, nice and home made breakfast. Helpful and character hostess. Marvelous view through the balcony, piece and quiete at all times. Great local feel, very pleasant atmosphere.
Review 114:Everything was lovely here except I didn't feel like I was in Lithuaniabut Germany while staying there. Almost all guests were German as werethe owners Having travelled from a week in Druskininkai which we adoredwe found that being immersed in a total Germanic environment a littledisappointing. I must add I love holidaying in Germany but not when I'min Lithuania!
Review 115:Lovely guest house in a beautiful location.
Review 116:Mosquitoes (there are no gauze on windows). Strange smell into thetoilet (dressing-room) - moisture+cleansers. Small room and oldfurniture.
Review 117:Nice view from the balcony, tasty breakfast, bike rent possibility, notfar from city center. Helpful staff.
Review 118:We stayed there 4 days in June 2012. The hotel' s not large, but it's very comfortable and the personal's ready to help you. The meal's good and natural, rooms're comfortable and price's fine. We sincerely thank boss Gradgina and hope to repeat our visit to Prie Mariu. Lucy, Tatiana, Alexander*2, Sankt-Peterburg, Russia
Review 119:This family-friendly Hotel is run by an extremly friendly female host. The location is only 15 metres from the sea border and the view from ourroom is absolutely phantastic. The hotel is very quiet with nearly notraffic. The rooms are extremly clean, the beds are comfortable (not toosoft). The breakfast is good and offers a nice choice. You can rent abike directly in the hotel and get excellent hints what to do in Nidda.- We really had four marvellous days in Prie Mariu. If you are lookingfor a quiet and romantic place, this is where to go!
Review 120:The hostess, Grazina, does a fine job of making her guests feel welcome and at home! They also offer great Lithuanian home cooking style dinners upon request, which is a nice change from eating restaurant food 24/7 while on vacation. The breakfasts are also always very varied and often involved a fried egg or pancakes done on demand. For us that special touch of responding to guest's needs with fresh produce/food really makes this hotel a place we have chosen to come back to for now the forth time if I'm not mistaken!
