Reviews for Hakata Tokyu REI Hotel

Review 1:The hotel is less than 5 min from Hakata Train Station. The room is modern and has amble space for 2 persons. The buffet breakfast is great and items changes everyday.

Review 2:The location was perfect for us. So close to Hakata station. The buses stopped right in front of the hotel for us several times (from Hakata tower and the outlet). The staff were friendly and helpful. One of them (Yuko was the name if I recall correctly) actually printed out the Japanese menu for us and translated the recommended dishes of a nearby yakitori restaurant. The room was clean and definitely good value for money.

Review 3:I love the shower stall!! After staying in four other hotels with the usual shower in a plastic bath tub, it was refreshing to have a proper roomy shower stall complete with a glass shower screen and awesome shower heads and jets. The room was clean and modern but just a tad small (but then again it's the typical room size of a local Japanese hotel chain). Excellent front office staff ... Very friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located about less then ten minutes walk away from Hakata station. Family mart and Lawson convenience stores are nearby.

Review 4:The view was terrible, pretty small room even by Japanese standards, mediocre breakfast, staff not friendly or polite

Review 5:Nice bathroom, free access to washing machines for laundry, they let us check out at 12:00 for free (in exchange for subscribing to their loyalty program)

Review 6:The check-out time should be moved a little later around 11am for the guests to still enjoy some more of its amenities. Please consider.

Review 7:I love this hotel, the rooms are just the right size and well- designed, the check-in is very fast, the staff are very helpful, polite and kind. The hotel is very near the Hakata Station where you can shop and eat at various establishments. There are also free drinks at the hotel lobby in the afternoon up to 12mn.this is good when you come back from a day's tour. My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay and will surely come back and recommend this hotel to our friends and family. Truly a class A hotel.

Review 8:Breakfast is a bit western style, if they can provide some Japanese style is so good.

Review 9:The room is very clean and full facility. Staff are quite well and good service mind. Location is best near Hakata Station.

Review 10:the hotel is very near Hakata station approx 5 min walk and easy to access around city from the bus station in Hakata station. 2 convenience stores near hotel and Toyota car-rent station just at the right side back of hotel approx 100m.

Review 11:The location of hotel I very near Hakata station, a convenience store is just opposite and Toyota car rental just a street behind. Suggest to stay in twin room for bigger room size.

Review 12:The hotel is close to Hakata station so location wise it is very convenient. The hotel itself is new and modern. The facilities are in good condition.

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:Room size is above average compared to most business hotel in Japan. Comfortable bed . Very sizable washroom wth an excellent shower. Enjoyed very much

Review 15:Check out time 10 am but registered as comfort member you can check out at 12 noon No proper closet. Clothes hangar space is tight for winter jackets no shelves Some Staff are not fluent in English and their knowledge in recommending sightseeing and restaurants is limited. They can't suggest gourmet restaurants.

Review 16:The location is steps from the underground exit n the underground shopping street though consider a business hotel , the bottled shower shampoo toiletries are of quality. 3 pm to midnight enjoys unlimited tea n coffee in the breakfast lounge

Review 17:even i know japanese hotels used to have small rooms, but still small is small..... double bed in the room, and no more extra space... but it's okay.

Review 18:good location, quite close from the station, easy to find from the street. and the hotel has good condition overall, staffs are kind.

Review 19:the room is a bit small than expected

Review 20:Convenient location, very close to Hakata JR station The staff are helpful The buffet breakfast is good Have free skincare sample packs for ladies

Review 21:Been travelling Japan for a while. The room was smaller than the average hotel room. We survived somehow. :)

Review 22:Staff helped me figure out how to get tickets to the local baseball game.

Review 23:The room we got was bigger than other hotels and with cheaper price! It's new and clean also near the main transportation in Hakata. A great choice to stay!

Review 24:Just wish I could stay longer!!

Review 25:Great location with spacious double beds room. If you are girls, you may get the chance to live in girls floor which everything is pink and also get to choose small items like facial masks.

Review 26:the staff with each shift have different english, some not really good. for cleaning time, should be done when guest not in the room, a little inconvenience

Review 27:good location, right next to Hakata station, clean room but a little small Helpful staff

Review 28:Very convenient location (just 5 min walk from JR Hakata Station). Friendly staff and their English is good. Very comfortable clean, comfortable and modern style room, good free wifi connection. Highly recommended to friends who stay in Hakata !

Review 29:Stayed 2 nights. Housecleaning left used cups unwashed and didn't throw out rubbish.

Review 30:Location is excellent. Really close to Hakata JR station yet quiet enough. Checking in and out is easy.

Review 31:Small rooms

Review 32:Excellent location close to JR Hakata station which is so accessible to anywhere in Kyushu. Near shopping and numerous eating places. Easy check in and self check out really convenient.

Review 33:The price should be including breakfast at the type of hotel in Japan but they don't.

Review 34:Very close to the station and there are many shopping malls and restaurants nearby. Convenient location and quiet. Free wifi and free drink bar at lobby.

Review 35:It would be great if bathtub can b provided in more rooms

Review 36:A trainee staff with good english and very helpful Room is big and clean Location is very good

Review 37:Had a double room and it was kind of cramp (tho the overall design was very functional)

Review 38:Close to hakata stn Close to shopping n food Great breakfast and free cups for coffee to go

Review 39:Rooms are very small for 2 persons and will suit an individual traveler better.

Review 40:Quiet location next to a well known conglomerate. The Receptionists are most helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was adequate and would suit all tastes and cuisine preferences. I would strongly recommend this hotel for value.

Review 41:I think the non smoking floor/room has not always been non smoking. But you only notice it when you've just walked in, half a minute later you don't notice it any more

Review 42:Room and bathroom were clean, bed (a queen size!) was comfortable, breakfast was good (we as western really appreciated the bread and yoghurt). The hotel is very close to an exit of the JR Hakata (shinkansen and other trains) station and the subway. Only two stops to and from the airport. Staff is very friendly. If I would go to fukuoka again, I would definitely not mind staying here again.

Review 43:Our 2nd stay at this hotel. Close to Hakata Station where there is always something going on. Last time the cherry blossums were out so it was different seeing all the trees green. The rooms are small but the showers were great. Everyone was friendly.

Review 44:Less considerable to the guests, when. We showed up with a baby, there wasn't any suggestion to upgrade with some cost . Not so friendly to family with kid. And even I listed my special request for stay with infant, there was any preparation for it . I was very upset and disappointed about this hotel

Review 45:Room and lobby is tidy and well organized

Review 46:Surprised by the condition to pay in full (for two nights) upon checking in.

Review 47:The front desk staff was very helpful when we encountered a package delivery issue. The new shower and water pressure were excellent.

Review 48:There is no drinking water in the room and no shower cap .. not a big deal tho (free drinking water at the lobby )

Review 49:I like that the hotel is very clean, comfy beds and close to the Hakata Station ( a little bit hiding tho, its 5 steps in the alley opposite the Nikko hotel )

Review 50:Only Japanese TV stations on free TV.

Review 51:Located 3 min walk from Hakata station in a quiet side street; 1700¥ taxi ride from airport. Modern, super clean & friendly hotel. Great breakfast with freshly prepared dishes that change every day (don't expect a full English). Twin room was quite spacious.

Review 52:Nothing, really. Wifi works well.

Review 53:Enjoyed the variation of salad, breads, croissants, juices and hot foods at breakfast. Not too much, not too little, just enough variety to get me going in the morning. It was warm in the rooms, so I slept with the window cracked open just a bit. Staff were very polite and helpful. Convenience store across the street and only 3 minutes from the Shinkansen station.

Review 54:I spent a bit of time looking for this hotel, not to realize that they had just changed their name. So basically I was at the right place but it just said something different.

Review 55:Minutes away from JR Hakata (perfect for shopping also) and the subway. The decor is excellent and modern, comfortable, clean and relatively spacious (by Japan standards).

Review 56:I have stayed in 2 rooms during my trip, the bed is a bit too soft in one of them, the other one is ok.

Review 57:I love the easy access location. Subway by foot in 1 minute. JR by foot in 5 minute. The bathroom is clean with walk in shower.

Review 58:Bathroom occupaied too much room size, so comparatively small for the rest of the room.

Review 59:We stay in this hotel three separated period of time and for everytime we place our luggage in front desk. Its good for us to travel around kyushu. Room is clean and tidy but also tiny as you could expect. I like the bath shower with modern design. We stay three room in difference level, always good water pressure. Free laundry(expect to spend 4hrs each time).

Review 60:None, everything was great. Though it was a bit difficult to find at first it was still close to the JR Hakata station.

Review 61:Free wifi in all rooms plus a super good healthy breakfast at a 1000 yen price.

Review 62:The room was a little bit cramped but of course we are more familiar with wider spaces of hotel rooms in the states. It took a little while to adjust.

Review 63:Staff was very helpful and friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable about information that tourists may need. The facility was very clean and very pleasant to behold.

Review 64:The hotel is just 2 minutes of Hakata JR station, where you can take the Kyushu Shinkansen anywhere in Kyushu and the mall has many brand name stores: Tokyu Hands, Hankyu, Yodobashi and many brand name eateries that is worthwhile to go through all of them

Review 65:Staff: Fair attitude but could be warmer. Room design: Stayed in a 2-bed double room. TV is setup in the back of the room and not the middle of the room, so it only faces one of the beds.

Review 66:Location: 5-10 min walk from the front exit of Hakata JR Station. Tip: Take the skywalk that goes in front of the Tokyu Hands store and passes the bus terminal building. This side of the JR station is a business district, so the hotel is surrounded by business buildings and no 24 hour restaurants. Also, just around a 20 min walk to Canal City following Google Map.

Review 67:When travelling with children ensure you book a twin room as the double bed in the double room is just a queen size bed. Moreover the room size is also rather small.

Review 68:Location

Review 69:It is very close to Hakata Train station/Subway so you have access to the whole city of Fukuoka. It is also very close to Canal City(walking distance) which is one of th coolest malls I've been to.

Review 70:very tiny room. absolutely no space to put down even a carry-on bag. i have to put our luggage right outside the bathroom - a tiny hallway. almost tripped a few times. while the location is very close to the Hakata station - which is excellent, it's hard to find the property. it's hidden away in a quiet side st.

Review 71:very close to the train/bus station (if you can find it)

Review 72:poor wifi connection especially it still couldn't work after reported to counter. We stayed for 7 nights, the housekeeper didn't refill the tea bags at some of the days.

Review 73:very helpful staff and cleanliness of the room

Review 74:I stayed in a double room and it exceeded all my expectations. Value for money was really good and this was the most comfortable accommodation I had during my trip. A nice bed, clean room and super shower combined with really friendly staff made my stay. Great location, a few minutes walk from the Hakata station and about 5 minutes from Canal City.

Review 75:We didn't like the fact that check-in was not possible before 3:00pm. After a long flight you want to take a shower and have a rest. Instead we wandered through the city for four hours, but in Fukuoka that's no punishment.

Review 76:The hotel is located close to the Hakata trainstation and it is ideal for arriving at Fukuoka from abroad when you want to travel through Japan with the Shinkansen. Clean, good beds and excellent shower. Friendly staff.

Review 77:Breakfast time started at 7:00 am. I would have liked a 6:00 am opening. (Food was excellent. Freshness, presentation and taste were enjoyable.)

Review 78:Staff gave excellent service with sincerity. From greeting you upon arrival through the doors or leaving the premises with smiles each time. Hakata train and bus station within 3 minute walk, 95 percent under covered walkways which helped during the rains. Room was very clean and fixtures very modern, especially the bathroom. I am hoping to stay at other Tokyu hotels in the future.
