Reviews for Lenna Of Hobart
Review 1:The room was very basic for the price. No restaurant or room service after 9pm. Staff suggested we may be able to get something at that time of night at pub style place down the road. Poor choice with a teenager. Breakfast was limited and poor quality- so didn't bother. Promotional material implies old traditional hotel instead we were in newer wing with no personality.
Review 2:It was a fair location
Review 3:While I understand that this is a heritage hotel, the lack of aircon was really not acceptable when considering the rate of the room. I also appreciate that it is not often "hot" in Hobart, however on this occasion it was and we suffered as a result of the lack of a/c. A fan was provided the room, but you would need a pilot's licence to understand how to work it. After all it was only a fan!
Review 4:Location, size of room
Review 5:food at breakfast was ordinary double bedroom was stuffy but it was warm weather for Hobart I believe
Review 6:location was terrific old world charm but great facilities
Review 7:Great location just around the corner from Salamanca square and the Saturday markets. Within walking distance to the nearby park and the river Derwent. Beautiful views from our 4th floor room. The kids loved the glass lift! Would definitely stay there again.
Review 8:We were disappointed by the housekeeping service. We stayed 4 nights andonly asked for room service on the 3rd day. We left a tip to thank thehousekeeper, but while they took the tip, the room service wasn'teven half completed. They did not remove the rubbish in the bathroom, despite it was full. They also did not change the bed sheets and notmake the bed, despite being requested. Instead, they had strangely movedall of the pillows onto the sofa and left a tissue on our bed. Mostupsetting was that we found a bag of garbage on the sofa, which wasplaced underneath our pillows. Photos were taken and the incident wasreported to the duty manager. The general manager did ring the nextmorning to apologize, which we appreciated, but we were upset by thisexperience and have never come across such housekeeping incidentsbefore. I hope that our experience in the Lenna Hobart would never everhappen again to anyone else.
Review 9:The location is fantastic, only minutes walk to the Salamanca market andshops, like restaurants, fruit shop and pharmacy. It is in thehistorical area and you can walk around to see all of houses that werebuilt in the 18th century. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to well-known seafood restaurants. The hotel room is roomy, bright, clean andquiet. The bathroom is also modem and clean.
Review 10:The hotel is perfectly located, with a short stroll down to Salamanca markets, ferries etc. Also easy access to highways in all directions. Rooms extremely comfortable, well equipped with clean, modern bathrooms. Staff extremely helpful. Really cannot fault it- it added to the great time we had in Hobart.
Review 11:Lack of staff which they took an hour to send another set of bathroom toiletry.
Review 12:A historic hotel with comfortable setting. We are being arranged to live in a family suit locates at 4F, with a wonderful sea view
Review 13:Sound carries through walls of rooms and the positioning of the toilet paper holder in the bathroom was awkward.
Review 14:Great location with easy access to city walks, cafes and restaurants.
Review 15:The beautiful surrounds, the well use of space within the building and just the general feeling of the building it has a very good vibe for a building. I felt welcomed and relaxed from the moment I got there.
Review 16:Great location and the entry building is beautiful. We were able to get a quick but tasty breakfast that was great value for money. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 17:Bed was just a bit too hard for my taste, as I have serious back problems. Regular price is a bit too expensive for a midweek stay, but we had a special offer, which was ok.
Review 18:Elegant but cosy hotel with lots of history and nice views. Excellent staff. Modern fully renovated rooms. Viewing tower and Chandelier room are beautiful and full of history.
Review 19:We could hear the lift operating and people talking from inside our room. Unpleasant at 6am. The open air arrangement makes the common areas cold and draughty.
Review 20:Heated bathroom floor Laundry facilities are good but expensive compared to similar hotels in Tasmania
Review 21:It wasn't so much a bad experience but I would suggest soft music in the lounge bar in keeping with the elegance of place (TV could have text or be on low sound)and some of the fittings clashed with the 'look' - e.g. fan could be updated or reverse cycle heat/cool pump installed; lamp.
Review 22:The location and the warm, happy, helpful staff. It is a grand old place.
Review 23:Good hotel - not over the top but well appointed. Great location - close enough to Salamanca Place yet enough distance so you don't hear the noise from the area, especially Fri & Sat nights. Check in was hassle free and quick.
Review 24:Lovely room with coffee maker, fridge with real milk, kettle and view of the harbour. Nicely appointed. All seemed newly refurbished in neutral tones, very clean.
Review 25:I appreciated the warm welcome and care of each staff member I met. In particular, I appreciated the opportunity to check out a little late as I had been unwell for a couple of days. The staff were gracious and most supportive. thank you!
Review 26:Not great with young family as only one seperate bedroom which had queen bed and not two singles as we thought we had booked. Also not self contained in anyway. No toaster or cutlery or crockery which you often need when travelling with children. For $320/night I think it could of been more accomodating.
Review 27:Clean
Review 28:Bed was a little hard.
Review 29:Location - Battery Point is beautiful and 2 min from Salamanca Market which is on every Saturday. Walking distance to some wonderful places to eat. Ps. Loved the apples at front desk every day : )
Review 30:The internet kept dropping out.
Review 31:This hotel is in an excellent location just round the corner from Salamanca markets. There is convenient parking and very comfortable accommodation. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
Review 32:Suprisingly, walls are thin -- one night there was a crying baby and a man with an incessant hacking cough. Felt as though I was in a tenament flat.
Review 33:Great central location near Salamanca wharf, and in a quiet neighborhood.
Review 34:It didn't feel like a 4.5 star hotel. The bar was mostly completely empty, and you hardly saw another person which gave the place the feel of a ghost town. It felt more like an unattended B & B. In summary - ''no vibe"
Review 35:Location
Review 36:a car alarm sounded all night and was not switched off. the bedding was too hot
Review 37:We loved the location, we loved the gardens, we loved the lookout, the view, the fact that it was independently owned.
Review 38:Nothing - great place for a quick getaway to Hobart, and able to do most things on foot.
Review 39:Great location - really close to Battery Point cafes and restaurants, Salamanca Markets and ferry to MONA
Review 40:The staff could have been a bit more friendly.
Review 41:Really good location for Salamanca, Battery point and the harbour. By far the most comfortable beds we slept in while in tassie. Modern interior clean and well kept.
Review 42:There were stairs between the lifts & reception/restaurant which was. Bit tricky with a (double) pram. The heater wasn't working (but hotel staff responded quickly & identified it was a defective power point), cleaners didn't always clean as I would expect
Review 43:Location, accommodated children's needs with mattress on floor & ports cot, and high chair in breakfast room, great views & location, very comfortable room
Review 44:We stayed a week and the bed was a bit uncomfortable by the end (too hard!). In room dining offered the same menu as available in Chandelier Lounge - just not enough variety when you are there for an extended stay! But with so many amazing food options in Hobart, it's not a major concern.
Review 45:I really liked the location - easy walking distance to Salamanca, Castray Esplanade (great coffee shop at the bottom of Salamanca Wharf Hotel), Brooke St Wharf (better coffee), the replica of Mawson's Huts, Maritime Museum etc etc. Great view over Constitution Dock through to the Derwent Bridge - ask for or book the Seaview room. The main house is a fabulous old building and a great example of heritage architecture.
Review 46:I enjoyed the ambience, history, gas log fires, ornate ceilings, proximity to Salamanca Place and Battery Point and friendly, courteous, helpful and efficient staff. I will definitely return.
Review 47:It rained every day !!!!!!!. A small glass, under half full of sherry.
Review 48:Cleanliness of all facilities. Restaurant food, and service, very good. Polite and courteous staff.
Review 49:We ordered breakfast but it came with no cutlery or butter/jam etc - had to chase someone up for it.
Review 50:The location is absolutely perfect for sightseeing around Hobart and it is very quiet. We liked the public area best - very traditional.
Review 51:Having to leave, I will be back, hopefully soon.
Review 52:Comfortable, friendly hotel warm bathroom floors a treat on cold mornings and windows that open. Great location for the markets and great dining options.
Review 53:A party was being held in a penthouse suite on the 6th floor. The party guests continuously dragged furniture on the balcony until 2am.After us complaining at around 12.00am, a hotel staff said he would speak to them which he no doubt did and to which the penthouse party took no notice.
Review 54:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very quiet with little or no noise from other rooms.
Review 55:The room was overpriced compared to other rooms we had on our easter long weekend trip. No air conditioning just a heater and a fan. We had to get staff to get the heater going as isnt wasnt working. The room was dim and ordinary even though it had been refurbished. We could here alot of street noise even with the windows shut. We had to lug our bags from the bottom car park without assistsnce.
Review 56:The view was beautiful from the window in the morming looking to Mount wellington.
Review 57:The bed a standard double; for this grade of hotel would expect Queen or King size. But they did provide another one so we had to sleep separately.
Review 58:Location, all but bed size.
Review 59:No happy hour! lol! also a few nibbles on the tables whilst having cocktails would have added just a wee touch of comfort to the weary travellers.
Review 60:The meal we had in the restaurant was impeccable and the staff both there and at reception and not to forget the wonderful housecleaners were a credit to your hotel.
Review 61:We really liked the location of Lenna of Hobart, convenient to Salamanca Place, the wharf and a number of restaurants. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Review 62:Parking is a real issue and very inconvenient. Ensuite was so small it was impossible to dry when stepping out of the shower over the bath, great sized rooms very poorly furnished and the lighting was atrocious.
Review 63:The bed
Review 64:Only good impressions .
Review 65:The location of the hotel staffed by pleasant competent people with a willingness to help you enjoy the facilities of the hotel and the city.
Review 66:Ground floor room - noisy due to open atrium giving access to all rooms - could hear people above using bathroom! No air conditions or heating and no window to open. There was a floor standing Electric heater and fan in the cup board.
Review 67:Location - parking - restaurant
Review 68:it was close to salamanca, it had old world charm exterior but rooms were modern. surrounding suburb great to explore with old houses lanes and streets. staff were so helpful and friendly
Review 69:Great views of park and harbour, very comfortable room and very attentive and friendly staff. Ideally located for shops, restaurants and harbour excursions.
Review 70:No air conditioning and windows would open 15 cms only so had a very hot night and very little sleep.
Review 71:Staff helpfulness in relocating to a cooler room for the next night stay.
Review 72:My only complaint is the breakfast. It was a sunday but....a continental breakfast that costs $16 in a hotel that cost nearly $200 a night needs to be more than toast, muffins and cereal. There was no cheese or ham. There were no croissants.
Review 73:I like the hotel's atmosphere and location.
Review 74:Technical problem with the card entry to the free parking area.
Review 75:The location was perfect - close to Salamanca Place and Battery Point. Rooms were spacious and the bed was great.Staff were friendly and very helpful.
Review 76:the sheets were old some staff were greeat, but one was inattentive and not helpful 9in fact, gave incorrect information) laundry took away a clothes item by mistake, and the follow up of this was not efficient
Review 77:location the building the attached restaurant
Review 78:The exterior hallways leading to rooms made the hotel feel insecure and cheap, but maybe that was just the part of the hotel we were in (at the front).
Review 79:A stone's throw from Salamanca Market, and an easy walk to the harbour - fantastic location! Room was spacious and very clean (we were given a free upgrade as it was my boyfriends birthday!)
Review 80:Hotel is in great location to easily walk to restaurants and shops. Very clean and rooms felt comfortable. Staff pleasant and helpful. Would stay again and highly recommend.
Review 81:The "modernist" part of the hotel is ugly - has the transient ambience of a motel with harsh sounds echoing in the atrium from slamming doors, cleaner's trolleys and elevator. The transition from old to new is dissonant in this hotel. Also the passage from one to the other is convoluted entailing elevator, steps and a crossover bridge. The suite lacked character - it was fairly large but bland. The bathroom was functional but small. The toiletries were nondescript - not worth using or keeping. The room was affected by noise emanating from the movement of furniture in the penthouse suite above which suggests the rooms are not really soundproofed. The reception and dining room staff were just going through the motions - efficient rather than empathic. It really needs a makeover by a talented architect with experience in combining and balancing new/modern with the heritage elements of the building.
Review 82:Battery Point location was ideal. Close to cafes, pubs, restaurants, cafes and galleries. Historical ambience in the older part of the hotel. View from suite window.
Review 83:Loved everything.
Review 84:Loved the friendly staff, quite peaceful room, location and proximity to all that we chose to do. The history and decor' very comforting and welcoming. Would gladly return.
Review 85:Room was perhaps not used for some time and had a strong odour when we entered. Took 2 days, with the two tiny windows that opened, to bring the odour down a bit. Large floor stand fan is a little 'archaic' when it comes to ventilation.
Review 86:position
Review 87:The location if Lenna is fantastic for exploring Hobart. Salamanca and Battery Point are within easy walking distance with great restaurants and shops close by. Service is friendly and rooms are very spacious.
Review 88:Nothing we thought it was great.
Review 89:Our room has a little balcony set amongst the garden that we enjoyed for morning coffee and a glass of wine in the afternoon.
Review 90:Common areas in the newer part of the hotel were a bit tired looking. Furniture in room, in particular, the lounge was also tired looking.
Review 91:Room was nice, bathroom was great. We had a view. The gardens were fabulous. I didn't try the restaurant, unfortunately. The old part of the hotel was stunning - very grand old-world charm!
Review 92:Limited in room dining menu. We were exhausted after a full week of touring and had a night in. Dinner was prompt and hot though.
Review 93:Close to Salamanca and the restaurants and tourist sites of Battery Point. Easy access by car. Very clean and comfortable.
Review 94:Steep hill up frm salamanca. Restaurant not open Monday night. Bar snacks not great quality.
Review 95:Balcony. Extensive tv channels/films. Proximity to salamanca sq. View.
Review 96:Room service food choice. I would have liked a couple of simple lighter options such as sandwiches or a side salad with the burger. mind you the chips were delicious, quite the best I've had in a long time.
Review 97:Quiet location yet handy to everything. Room was comfortable, excellent bed, good TV and the bathroom was uncluttered and nice to be in - good shower
Review 98:It's my personal opinion and it does not minimise the quality of service. I would like to see a bath in the room.
Review 99:This hotel has its character. A walking distance from all main sightseeing. It's clean with friendly staff, easy to find while driving, with a parking area. We'll stay there next time.
Review 100:The temperature in the room was really hot even though we turned off the heating well before we went to bed. The fridge was not working well and food that we had brought had to be thrown out. A beautiful building but the bar is totally disappointing considering it has so much potential
Review 101:The location is great and can't be faulted.
Review 102:The little things... room was heated when we came in, electric blankets on to warm beds. Use of the car park very early on our arrival was not a problem. A call to say when our room was ready was appreciated.
Review 103:Restaurant was closed
Review 104:Old charm hotel with large comfortable room.
Review 105:Location excellent to cafes , port and markets. Staff very friendly and obliging.
Review 106:Great position,lovely old building
Review 107:Pillows a little soft for our preference.
Review 108:Location was ideal. Large room with super view of the mountain range.
Review 109:The location is so good, very near to the restaurants.
Review 110:Should provide wider range of pillow options
Review 111:Excellent location
Review 112:Not applicable.
Review 113:Everything was excellent, accommodation, service, staff, cleanliness and location.
Review 114:No air con in room, so was like a sauna every day. Terrible water pressure in the shower.
Review 115:Friendly staff, great location, fantastic view from room
Review 116:Our room was opptessively hot. No air circulation.
Review 117:Location and size of room.
Review 118:Perfectly located for Salamanca Market! Nice touch of arranging for complimentary icecream on a hot day.
Review 119:Restaurant was closed.
Review 120:Excellent location alongside Salamanca Place. Modern rooms in historic building. Good service and facilities.
Review 121:The location.
Review 122:Was a little noisy as there was a wedding on.
Review 123:Lovely hotel. Was very close to everything.
Review 124:Lack of proper restaurant.

Review 127:Hard mattress
Review 128:Super location, beautiful building and grounds, friendly helpful staff, free wifi
Review 129:Small windows
