Reviews for Agriturismo Fattoria Terranova

Review 1:Terranova is remote, a restful working farm, not a resort type hotel. We are active walkers/hikers/explorers and came home Grateful for the immersion in culture. If you want guides, drivers, etc the staff helps you find the best.

Review 2:We stayed at Terranova twelve days and took day trips to Amalfi, Positano, Capri, Sorrento. The staff was most helpful in helping arrange boat tours, bus/taxi, etc. the food at the restaurant is a veritable organic feast at prices comparable to average places!

Review 3:There's a huge difference between the beautiful reception and restaurant, and the rooms. Our room was really dirty, we found pubic hair everywhere even in the shower. The sink smelt of sewage and every time we needed to open it, a roach came up. That was really disgusting. Very bad price/quality ratio.

Review 4:We have really appreciated the place where we ate breakfast and the reception. The atmosphere is really cozy, they really pay attention to details (fresh flowers, everything clean, at the arrival they served fresh water, ...). The breakfast is a buffet full of various cakes, fresh fruit, yogurt, bread, and salty plates. Staff is really kind.

Review 5:I was given a stinky room " rose " with old furniture, furniture may be from a church bazaar. I could not help but having my imaginary half transparent dead old lady standing at the conner of the room quietly. I found that I booked a room with a air conditioner but that room did not have it. The reception told that room was superior with an extra bed. They did not accept to change the room for 30 min. Finally, I contacted booking.com and explained about incident then got a better room with an airconditioner. I booked this hotel for horse riding and told about it to the desk at the arrival as the hotel email reply instructed. The owner was not helpful at all and kind of ignored it. The next morning, I saw the same staff at the desk, they did not help with it last night. I feel that I was lied. Please take out horse riding from activity lists. Dinner took 3 hours, they need more staff.

Review 6:Swimming pool is filthy. Ants in great numbers in the room. Old furniture in the room. Breakfast, instant coffee and cooked eggs cost extra Eur 3.00. Dogs bark in early morning. It was difficult to communicate with staff in English as they did not speak well.

Review 7:If you are looking for a scenic, gardened atmosphere with home style living and fabulous food, this is your place. Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples, then get ready for a quiet stay with a lovely staff and an incredible deal on a 5-course dinner special at a most reasonable price.

Review 8:I travelled in the early march and the restaurant was closed at that time (because it was too early in the season). The room was not well insulated.

Review 9:very nice room and very nice location.

Review 10:- steep 20 to 30 walk to Sant'Agata, so all services are remote from the hotel- room was large but dark (VERY dim lighting), with uncomfortable furniture (the sitting room had 2 small uncomfortable chairs and a futon that doubled as an uncomfortable sofa.- Room was buggy and we had a lizard in our bedroom- AC didn't work.- The only real ventilation was a window in the bedroom, but there was no mosquito screen, so mosquitos were a problem. The window opened onto a terrace, so leaving the window open at night was a privacy concern. The window had heavy blinds that kept the window from providing lighting to the room during daylight hours.- The dinner was a fixed price 4 course meal--with limited menu choices, served at a specific time only. One night, we were the second table seated and somehow, one of the 2 entrees available was already sold out. (!)- There is no cell phone service, you have to hike 10 minutes or drive to a higher point where there was cell service. So if you want to call a cab, for instance, you have to walk halfway to town before your cellphone will work. It's not the hotel's fault, but it added to the sense of isolation while at the hotel.- Allegedly there was wifi service in the room (at extra cost), but hotel employees were unable to get it to work.- The steep walk into town was on a narrow road that felt dangerous to walk on at any time (aggressive Italian drivers flying past), but especially in the dark. A cab ride was 10 Euros each way if you didn't want to walk.- Since the town was a considerable distance and we didn't have an automobile, it was difficult to get to town to try other restaurants, the bus station, the pharmacy, the grocery store, the Tourist Information office, etc. and be able to get back to the hotel before dark (when walking on the road back to the hotel was even more dangerous)- Be sure this is what you want before booking.

Review 19:Ants in the room

Review 20:Location, room, restaurant, swimming area

Review 21:Fantastic food, helpful staff, great resources for children

Review 22:A little far away from the main area if you want to shop etc

Review 23:Room View Restaurant Relaxation

Review 24:No internet connection in the room despite the advertising

Review 25:Beautiful location, lovely, friendly & helpful staff, many activity options in the area

Review 26:A la carte food ordering was pricey..sometimes just didn't want the whole meal (so much good food!!) but the pricing was sometimes more than ordering for the full several course meal!

Review 27:The farm is beautiful and comfortable..great location, great food, lovely accommodations.

Review 28:The room we had needed a face-lift. Some of the staff were very professional, but unfortunately the young woman we met at reception on arrival was not very friendly.

Review 29:the location was fantastic and the food in the restaurant was very good and good value.

Review 30:It was just delightful.

Review 31:The whole atmosphere and environment was quite unique and very relaxing and comfortable. The food was delicious and the ambience in the restaurant was lovely. The staff were friendly and professional and efficient. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Great centre from which to explore this lovely little western point of the Amalfi coast. The walking was fantastic and the local towns were very easy to access by bus.

Review 32:Once there the setting was fantastic, staff friendly, food good etc. The only problem is it's in the middle of nowhere. The hotel arranged for us to have a transfer there from Sorrento but told us that one isn't arranged to go back. That was a bit of a problem as they called a taxi which wanted 40 euros. We were lucky that in the end a member of staff took us to a small village and we were able to catch a bus to sorrento.

Review 33:This beautiful authentic agriturismo, runned by Luigi and his family, fulfilled all of its promises. The (homegrown) food is amazing and not expensive (€20 for 4 courses!), the (English speaking) staff is very friendly, and the rooms are basic but clean and spacious. The view from the balconny of our double room was absolutely stunning! We had a very pleasant (four day) stay with Luigi, his family and the dogs. Thank you and until next time!

Review 34:Do not expect much of the swimming pool. Do not go here if you prefer the modern hotel chains this place is authentic and located in a rural area

Review 35:Great atmosphere in a very nice but remote location. Excellent value for money, superb restaurant with very low prices (20 euro for a very nice 4 course menu) and serving "home grown" products. Friendly staff.

Review 36:The rooms are located in cottages, scattered around the compound. The rooms are run down, with drawers missing from cupboards, faucets coming off the wall in the shower, stucco falling off the walls here and there and a lot of other things that tell a story about "the good old days". The swimming pool is dirty and the garden furniture is rotten, broken, dirty or any combination of the latter. The whole idea of "agriturismo" (living at the farm) is reduced to a limp goose, 5 chickens and an old horse, kept in abominable circumstances. Not a place to stay over night. Also not suitable for minivans (like our Sprinter) because getting there is a steep ride up the mountain through extremely narrow roads with impossible turns.

Review 37:The restaurant, the staff and the kitchen. Terranova may position itself as an agriturismo, it is, in fact, a VERY GOOD restaurant. But not more than that. The food they serve is abundant, varied and very Southern Italian. Worth a try. The restaurant and reception staff are very well mannered, proficient in English (which is quite an exception in that part of the world) and tend to make you feel as comfortable as they can.

Review 38:The staff were very accommodating. They helped arrange transportation for tours. The food was unbelievable in both quality and quantity. The location was beautiful.

Review 39:No dislikes

Review 40:Friendly relaxed atmosphere - peaceful setting - good views - well run

Review 41:Some issues with the toilet and shower were a nuicanse. No free wifi from our room.
