Review 1：I didn't like what I considered to be an excessive taxi fare for a 5 - 10 minute journey. Next time I'll walk a few metres and get a tuk-tuk. In all fairness the rate had been texted to me but unfortunately I didn't get it as I was on an aircraft.

Review 2：A great location very close to the airport - 5 to 10 minutes by taxi. Helpful and friendly manager. Good and ample breakfast. The room was simple but clean and quite large with a big bathroom.

Review 3：Attrocious. No lock on the door as broken. Another room offered was open to mosquitos. Booking Com should not have this accommodation on their site. I wish I'd looked at the bad reviews more carefully.

Review 5：Excellent staff, organized transport to airport and into negombo. They also serve delicious homemade meals. Hotel is also a stone throw from airport which makes it very convenient for stopover. Rooms comfortable with air con and clean.

Review 7：We paid money for breakfast. But not served. When check with the reception at front desk. Noboby was there to provide answer. The time was 8am. The entire hotel has no one manning the desk or kitchen. Hopeless hotel.

Review 8：We arrived late at night and the owner organised us a pick up service to the closeby hotel. Everything worked out well. He was waiting for us in the middle of the night and showed us our room which was perfect for the first night after our arrival. The next day he also organised us a tuk tuk to the railway station and was very helpful and friendly. We can definitely recommend this place! Thanks for helping us organise everything!

Review 10：The owner arrived late for the pick-up at the airport (more than45minutes) and took us to another accomofstions very dirty : orribile!He said us that the problem was overbooking but when we decide d to comeback to the airport and not stay there he wanted us to take to hotelThilon where suddenly a room was avaiable. We come back to the airportand slept there until our tour started! Don't book at thilon hotelthey are unriable

Review 14：Fast reply to enquiries before I arrived and amazingly warm reception on arrival. Comfortable bed. The best part of all was the excellent food the guys prepared for me- a huge fare of whatever you fancy, all delicious and for an excellent price. Really it was worth it just for dinner and breakfast! Close proximity to airport. Shower nice and powerful.

Review 23：The staff are friendly and courteous. The convenience of the airport pickup was greatly appreciated at 10.30pm. The morning breakfast was beautifully prepared and tasted as good as it looked.

Review 24：The bedroom didn't have a window which made it unpleasant even if you were to close the curtains. It felt like a shoe box and the shower drain smelt bad. The odour did creep into the bedroom and was unpleasant.

I ordered some food which was cooked by his wife who runs the restaurant..its basicallt a guest house and Oscar has renovations ongoing and hopes to be done by the end of the month. The rooms are spacious and the hotel is tucked in a little street near the main road..Overall an excellent value for money and Oscar helps you make your stay comfortable

Review 44：I booked a double room with balcony. There was no balcony, just a door that led out onto the lawn/premises. The floor was bare concrete with ants crawling around. All of this would have been sufficient for my one night airport layover since the wifi worked well, but there was only a thin sheet on the bed for my AC room. I asked for a blanket and the owner treated me like I was crazy, only offering a few extra thin sheets. It was monsoon season and it does cool down at night, I explained, but he said no, no blankets! I spent 5 minutes in the room after this trying to find another hotel to check into and he got very rude and tried to make me pay for the night. Is a blanket really that crazy of a request in a hotel that costs $25/night? I don't think so. Avoid this place.

Review 55：As a female traveling alone, I felt comfortable and safe staying at Hotel Thilon. The manager, Oscar was very kind and made sure I had everything I needed after my long journey from Galle. His wife cooked a delicious dinner and breakfast, and the tuk-tuk Oscar arranged to take me to the airport the following morning arrived on time and dropped me off quickly. This is a great place to stay if you have a morning flight or want to check out sites around Colombo and Negombo. Next time I am in Sri Lanka, I will definitely stay here again!

Review 56：The price was for a mid-range hotel, but facilities extremely basic - no sheets on (old) beds, no hot water, no lock on door, plenty of interesting insect life. The "deluxe" apartments seemed to be somewhat better.

Review 60：Everything. It smelt of damp. There were loads cockroaches in my sons room, so he slept in a chair in my room. Mosquitoes everywhere. No internal doors, just curtains. We had to ask for sheets for the beds as there was nothing except a towel in each room. No air conditioning in the 2 small bedroom, the air con in the communal area didn't work and the unit in my room made so much noise we had to turn it off. It was dirty and the staff were useless.

Review 64：No hot water in bathroom. The owner offered 500 ruppe for airport transfer but we decided not to use this service, he finally picked us up. However, extra 200 ruppe was added to the invoice without our acceptance, the owner claimed that he had arrived at the airport at 2200 hours and wait for us for 2 hours, that is totally ridiculous as we had already told him that we would arrive at mid-night! On the other hand, the most important point is, we had never accepted to use the airport transfer service!

The hotel is perfect located, in quite and safe area, only 10 minutes with tuk tuk from the airport. The room was perfect clean and comfortable. Wi-fi was available. Charunie and Sagara cooked for us very tasty food, we've got free coffee in the morning to our room. We truly recommend that place and we will come back for sure.
