Reviews for Hotel Jaccarino
Review 1:Unbeatable views. Very convenient for exploring the area South of Naples. The hotel offers a very useful shuttle to Sorrento several times a day. Staff vey friendly and helpful. Location very near to Sant' Agata, a nice village with excellent restaurants if you don't want to use the hotel's restaurant.
Review 2:Wonderful view we were given a free upgrade with a balcony view of the sea and my Vesuvius . Lovely old style hotel food very good the staff in restaurant very friendly . Lovely walks nice little village hotel has shuttle bus to sorrento
Review 3:Shuttle bus was always too full to use. The waiter in bar was snobby. It was too difficult to get into Sorrento.
Review 4:Breakfast. The terrace. Music in the bar.
Review 5:A little too far from main attractions but the hotel did supply a shuttle bus that ran a few times during the day. The television in our room didn't work. We asked for a twin room with a view but got a double bed with a slight view from the bathroom window instead.
Review 6:Staff were very friendly and the rooms were comfortable. Other places to eat besides the hotel although the food at the hotel was quite nice.
Review 7:The staff is working bad.. The hotel is noisy and dirty. The room smelled from the kitchen. The restaurant was open only two hours per day and only with reservation and menu from day before. They have only instant coffee. Reception refused to make reservations in other restaurants. There is no internet.
Review 8:The location and staff make this a wonderful choice of hotel for a visit to the Sorrentine peninsula. The town of St Agata is charming and full of fine restaurants. The hotel has wonderful facilities yet maintains an intimate and tranquil air.
Review 9:The rooms for 2 could be bigger. It cost extra if you need to change the bedpreference.
Review 10:Fantastic view on a good, nice, clean, serviceminded, cozy hotel! Staff is serviceminded and glad to help or adwize you if needed. The food is good, and there are nice facilities and a quite large pool.
Review 11:Beds could be a little softer
Review 12:The hotel was excellent in most facets with the pool, views, relaxation areasand the lobby, restaurant, bar and service all fantastic. The close proximity to the great little village of Sant Agata was a pleasant surprise. Would stay again and recommend to everyone. We didn't want to leave.
Review 13:Didn't have the local Italian feel of other places we stayed as most the rooms were occupied by British package holiday makers.
Review 14:Definitely worth getting the sea view room for the great view. Lovely pool.
Review 15:Wi-Fi very poor, slow speed.. Hotel would benefit from Wi-Fi access in rooms and all hotel areas...
Review 16:Friendly staff, comfortable stay and location... Great food in restaurant...
Review 17:WiFi connection was not available sometimes.
Review 18:Staff were very helpful in organising courtsey room for us on our last day. Made the wait for our flights back smooth!
Review 19:Some staff are a little grumpy and apart from the fresh fruit, the breakfast was very average. It gets very crowded around the pool at busy times and not enough sun loungers and umbrellas.
Review 20:The hotel is beautifully looked after and the views are incredible. Local buses right outside took us everywhere and they are very reliable. The hotel provides a shuttle service to Sorrento which is excellent. There's also a village right behind the hotel with some great places to eat and drink
Review 21:Hotel was in a beautiful position and staff were very friendly. There was a lot of variety for breakfast and wonderful amenities close by. There was a free shuttle bus.
Review 22:should have better explanation on the shuttle to Sorrento (e.i.: need to reserve, not automatic)
Review 23:super view, nice pool but could be noisy, nice breakfast
Review 24:The only draw back was not having free Wifi throughout the hotel in this day and age .... apart from that everything was terrific
Review 25:Our 2nd time here and we loved every minute of it .... The American lady on reception (sorry I can't remember your name) was absolutely lovely and looked after my request wonderfully well .... I can thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who might be having doubts .. lovely little village with great restaurants located literally just behind the hotel ... Perfect ..
Review 26:It could do with a little tlc here and there No hot food at breakfast Erratic opening times of poolside bar
Review 27:Fabulous view and nice pool Most staff very good Good restaurant , rooms are fine
Review 28:Would have preferred in rooms but that is a very small thing compared to the wonderful room, swimming pool and location.
Review 29:Great friendly staff and some English speaking. Bus from outside hotel was so useful and visited Pompei via bus & train, as well as Capri by bus and hydrofoil. Lovely to be able to wander into Sant Agata and experience village life and restaurants.
Review 30:The bed was much too firm for us and meals were very disappointing, probably from commercial catering packs. It cannot be said that the hotel has a chef as there was no effort to prepare original menus from local producers.
Review 31:Wonderful views from our bedroom which was spacious and well equipped. Spacious public areas and very pleasant and helpful staff.
Review 32:Bathroom is very dated and needs to be renovated. Toilet never functioned properly. Public transport by bus looks good on paper, stood in front of hotel, but it full does not stop. Hotel shuttle bus rides too infrequently to make up for it.
Review 33:Excellent location outside of Sorrento with great views. Great for exploring Positano and Amalfi and only 20 minutes by bus or car to Sorrento. Swimming pool a big plus. Close to good affordable restaurants. Friendly helpful staff.
Review 34:Staff were very formal and indifferent. Restaurant staff very effusive with their "favoured" guests which to be fair were their core market - English couples over 45yo but mostly over 60. But slightly disapproving of less favoured guests? Restaurant had "hushed" atmosphere which does not really suit families with children of any age!
Review 35:The view. Room was good.
Review 36:Bed was a little hard depending on what you are used too.
Review 37:The views are stunning from the hotel, opt for sea view room with balcony if possible, it's worth every penny, nice clean rooms, lovely breakfast and a great quiet location with good transport links to sorrento Capri amalfi positano and ravello.
Review 38:none
Review 39:Easy to find. Easy to park. Very nice room -- ask for sea-view ahead of time-- well equipped and comfortable bath room. Nice balcony. Excellent restaurant, look out for Nino -- he is a gem. They are very accommodating with dietary needs. Terrific breakfast buffet. Public areas are aplenty, and well appointed.
Review 40:Could have done with wifi in you're room. Facilities for making tea and coffee in the room.
Review 41:Beautiful views if you get a sea view room. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 42:The walk to sorrento main town was an hours walk. Very steep cliff. Not easy with a baby and a pushchair. Taxis are 50 euros each way
Review 43:The staff are very friendly and so helpful. They love children
Review 44:The breakfast was dreadful. Fresh fruit on top of tinned peaches etc.,, poor quality bread. We had lunch beside the pool one day and it was the worst meal of the week. We gave up on breakfast after day one, and ate out. Not typical of Italian cooking!
Review 45:The location was amazing - and very quiet and peaceful after a hard day's sightseeing. The village of St Agata has lots of good restaurants ( esp Mimi) and small shops.
Review 46:We only had wifi in the foyer area, not in the rooms.
Review 47:We caught the SITA bus to the hotel from Amalfi. The hotel is past the Sant Agata bus stop, but we asked the bus driver to stop at Hotel Iaccarino, and he did! Just ask and ye shall receive! We got a room upgrade upon arrival, and had the most amazing views from our room out to the ocean, Sorrento, and Mt Vesuvius. This was far nicer than staying in Sorrento. We caught the free hotel shuttle bus to Sorrento, down a windy road past olive trees, villages and with views to the coast. There are places to eat in the village of Sant Agata, just a 5 minute walk out the back of the hotel.
Review 48:Beautiful room and view.We were arrived by local bus.Reno and Laura at front desk very pleasant and helpful. They arranged two day trips for us to Capri and Sorrento with pick up from the hotel plus assistance with ongoing travel Delightful three day stay.
Review 49:Not being able to use internet! Some of the staff not very help, trying to get information or suggestions was very difficult. However, the shuttle bus driver and busboy were very helpful.
Review 50:Loved the view, the breakfast and the location of my room
Review 51:The lunch menu includes sandwiches with English style white bread and piles of chips/French fries. While this may be an option created for tourists, and what I ordered was quite different and good to eat, I find these sandwiches an insult to Italian cuisine and a good reason not to dine at the hotel. This is not what I expected from a hotel which on the face of it promises elegance and class.
Review 52:An older hotel, coupled with the Hotel Tramontano in Sorrento. Lovely reception/lounge area with fabulous old prints and furniture. This could be a wonderful restful luxury hotel if the staff were a little more helpful and caring. They were courteous, but only helped if you asked them. The transportation to/from the hotel is difficult, but could be made a lot easier if the staff gave adequate directions and information. The hotel is very close to the town of Sant'Agata, where you have an excellent restaurant called Lo Stuzzichino. They certainly outdo anything the hotel offers. All in all I Iiked the hotel and its swimming pool and beautiful panoramic view over the bay as a welcome escape from Sorrento and its tourist hordes.
Review 53:My biggest criticism was with the breakfast. The only hot dish I saw was scrambled egg - everything else was cold & unimaginative. Coffee was instant & appalling. More in line with a hostel not a four star hotel
Review 54:Friendly & helpful staff Extremely comfortable bed (hard mattress which I like) Spectacular views from the terrace
Review 55:Strange enter, didn't find reception very well. Lady at reception (older one and spoke Italian with an accent) wasn't very helpful, the others were great.
Review 56:Very nice location, big room, nice view. Great pool, gooed service!
Review 57:Tired, slightly shabby furnishings in bedrooms. The pillows very worn out, lumpy and very poor quality anyway. Curtains were just hanging on to rails and no more and the first room we were offered had dust everywhere.
Review 58:The staff here are excellent: friendly, helpful and very obliging in terms of giving you information on things like local reataurants, public transport and options for days out.
Review 59:Restaurant on premises. No idea of cost of dinner until checkout.
Review 60:Clean, large room. Beautiful view! Great restaurant within walking distance. It was a wonderful stay!
Review 61:This is not a blight on the hotel, the tours that you can arrange to go on through the hotel, cover nothing but the cost of transport and tour guide, you pay entry and pay for your lunch, for example a tour of Pompeii and Vesuvious will cost you €94 for two people then €11 per person in to Pompeii, you are taken for lunch to a restaraunt which is not great and costs you another €13 each and when you go to Vesuvious if you wish to walk up to the crater '300m' further it costs you another €10 per person. It does prove to be a costly day.
Review 62:The one thing that initially gets you about the hotel is the view, on a clear day it is breathtaking. Then it's location gets you, it is situated in a lovely, friendly village and surrounded by lots of friendly restaurants. The hotel is also pretty much in the middle of all the places you would like to go. Sorrento, Positano, Naples, Pompeii and Herculanem. There is also an idyllic cove called the Marine di Crappola (quite a walk). I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to all and sundry, the staff are very amenable and always willing to help. The pool is superbly situated from sunrise to sunset and if you get the right lounger, you can pretty much be in the sun all day, however, the pool is very cold but quite refreshing on a hot day.
Review 63:some of the rooms at the back of the hotel had a les than pleasant view. There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room, but room service was available at a reasonable rate. no shelf space in the bathroom for toiletries
Review 64:wonderful view of Vesuvius from our balcony. There is a hotel bus to sorento which saves travellers making the by car.
Review 65:That bit too remote from city centre for me. Even though hotel provided transit van a few times a day, this did not resolve problem. Hotel excessively expensive for evening drinks. Most guests appeared to go to local village of St Agata and therefore there was no nice atmosphere in the bar/lounge area in the evenings which was deserted No hot water in shower/room on the morning I was checking out. Shower and toilet facilities not cleaned well.
Review 66:Room spacious. Beautiful scenery.
Review 67:No complaints at all.
Review 68:Location, the village of St Agata was the find of the year. Lovely Italian feel with lots of little bars and kind people. So nice to get back at the end of the day and look over Sorrento and Bay of Naples in peace and quiet away from all the tourist traps. Hotel staff are lovely and facilities clean and well maintained. Intend to return next year and stay longer than 5 nights.
Review 69:Quiet location, free Wi-Fi despite confirmation saying there was a charge, free upgrade to fantastic room with balcony and view, decent choice of food at breakfast.
Review 70:Great view from the pool The room was quiet big Relaxing atmosphere The room was always clean and the made took care of all the small details Great resturants close ti the hitels
Review 71:No lift access to our room at side of main building so found steep, spiral staircase a bit challenging!
Review 72:Quiet location, but easy access to Sorrento and other areas. Lovely views. Excellent choices at breakfast. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
Review 73:Dinner was served far too rapidly for me and I had to ask them to slow it down. Staff need some more training
Review 74:Beautiful location. Easy access to local village with lots of restaurants, bars, shops etc. We had a very nice room in the annex with great views and terrace(but quite a few steps and no lift in annex). Dinner was good quality but not aa lot of choice. Breakfast choice very good
Review 75:Air con unit under bedroom window which required keeping it shut at night. Pool bar opening hours should be longer. Would have appreciated a kettle in the room.
Review 76:Location, pool, proximity to St Agata and it's restaurants. Breakfast and snack bar food were both good. Size of the bedroom and view of the sea were excellent.
Review 77:Our bed was, comfortable but the pillows were all hard and lumpy. We had them changed once but the replacements were no better. Our filthy balcony looked over a dingy back alley and somebodies home. But We had the worst room, most others had nice sea views of their small balconies.
Review 78:Pool was lovely. Nice bar serving lunch and snacks alongside. Lovely view over Sorrento and Vesuvius. We were b&b only so ate in the village (2 minute walk) where there a number of lovely restaurants. Free wifi in lobby. Free shuttle service to Sorrento.
Review 79:Only minus is Wi Fi: it is free but only available in a limited area
Review 80:My son (12) and I stay for 4 nights in August 2013. The hotel is very nice: fantastic views, friendly and helpfull staff, comfortable and clean bedrooms with good air conditioning, good breakfast, very reasonable price for the location and season. We got a bedroom overlooking the pool with a private patio and view of mount Vesuvius. We loved it. Only minus is the Wi Fi that was only available in a very lited public area
Review 81:Front desk staff acted like they would like to be somewhere else & we felt they did not come across happy at all
Review 82:Fantastic views from the room Location to Sorrento & Almafi coast Close to Santʼ Agata which had great food & small shops
Review 83:The biggest negatives we found was with the staff, noise and Wi-Fi. With the exception of a friendly door man / parking assistant, all the others were relatively unfriendly and seemed generally disinterested in our visit. The noise was very loud from the hallways into the room and we were woken every morning by the room service lady banging her buckets and moving beds around upstairs or in adjacent rooms. There was ZERO Wi-Fi in the rooms, which meant you had to go sit in the lobby area - really impractical and dated for the amount this hotel is charging. The pool was really cool and so was the bar (wonderful views) - but it was more of a family scene with children - not a negative necessarily, but we chose to head to the coast instead. You will want to have a car because it's too far to walk anywhere (including Sorrento) and the hotel shuttle bus runs only a few times a day.
Review 84:We picked this hotel because we thought it would be a good location from which to visit surrounding areas. It has a great view over Sorrento and off to Mount Vesuvius. I think the rooms were very basic for the amount of money we paid. We did have a sea view, which was nice, but other than that, not much in the way of amenities. The breakfast was decent with a good buffet selection. There is a small little village behind the hotel with some really nice local restaurants - check them out!
Review 85:When we arrived, the hotel staff go in the elevator before us - he could wait to the next tour.
Review 86:The hotel service was very good. Hotel location in St. Agata is almost near the center and nearby restaurants are very easy to reach by foot. The hotel has a nice pool with view. The breakfast is very good and offer a lot of different kinds of food for everyone.
Review 87:Internet only available at the reception and lobby. Location is about 30 min drive from Sorrento.
Review 88:Pool, shuttle services and bus station nearby. Staff was nice and helpful. View was amazing.
Review 89:Sometimes a bit too basic. Bar at pool area could use some refreshing. Food was also rather expensive. Personal is correct but that's how far it goes, except for the guy running the breakfast. Wonderful guy!
Review 90:Very nice hotel at a wonderful location with view over the bay of Naples. Good startbasis for visits to the Vesuvius area and Amalfi. Not the great luxury but very clean and all the necessary comfort. Nice swimming pool which helps when you get back from excursion.
Review 91:While not the fault of the hotel: 1. Cab was incredibly expensive ($80USD from train station). They did have a free shuttle, but difficult to arrange the initial pick up (before the check in) 2. While they may encourage u to go to Naples, it was a friggin dump, we left after two hours.
Review 92:The hotel's view was amazing, the hotel itself was ok. Mostly older guests. The best thing about the hotel was that there was a cute little town with a great restaurant walking distance from the hotel. The shuttle service and excursion to Pompeii was nice.
Review 93:Wifi reception. Bus was always too full for the trip to Sorrento. Found that an inconvenience.
Review 94:The terrace
Review 95:Food was always lukewarm....breakfast was only fair and evening meal was poor
Review 96:Views were good
Review 97:Great little town. Walk down to Sorrento was wonderful
Review 98:Friendly staff, very clean, lots of relaxation space, good bars, quiet, free shuttle, nice views, very good restaurants in village.
Review 99:buses didnt arrive on sunday
Review 100:loved the style of the hotel
Review 101:Pillows weren't great, quite alot of noise around the Hotel, dogs, mopeds.
Review 102:View was spectacular, staff were lovely, public areas beautiful.
Review 103:Wifi was not strong
Review 104:Very near village Authentic hotel Great view
Review 105:Nothing.
Review 106:Good location; courtesy bus available for Sorrento or a local bus ride (20-30 mins). Stunning views, all staff friendly and efficient.
Review 107:Nothing
Review 108:Great place to go to
Review 109:Staff in dining room a bit curt
Review 110:Views over Bay of Naples
Review 111:All
Review 112:Room, view, pool area, excellent lunches and dinners when we ate in, friendly staff and general ambience of hotel
Review 113:Wish it had WI-FI in the room.
Review 114:Great hotel. Beautiful views. Wonderful staff.
Review 115:The pool, the breakfast, the grandness of the building, and the town.
Review 116:Pool, style, ambience, breath-taking view. Food. Staff vey attentive and polite.
Review 117:hard to find
Review 118:Well positioned over looking Sorrento
Review 119:no internet in the room pool
Review 120:view
Review 121:WiFi only in lobby. Very dated.
Review 122:Convenient location, full/good breakfast, airy lobby.
Review 123:The view is simply breathtaking and the hotel is well equipped
Review 124:No wifi in the room. Restaurant closes at 9 p.m. Breakfast could be better.
Review 125:Great view. Nice terrace.
Review 126:nothing
Review 127:Location, the pool, the room, the view, the breakfast and the service
Review 128:All staff on front desk did not seem overly helpful
Review 129:The view is amazing.
Review 130:Location - excellent view. Good facilities. Good value for money.
Review 131:We did not get a pick-up in town that we booked in advance with the van service and had to pay 40 euros for a taxi back to the hotel.
Review 132:Location serene, beautiful vistas, bar area and bartender, NINO and the restaurant crew, cleanliness, walk up the hill in back of the hotel to St. Agata town center, excellent for the money, excursions
