Reviews for Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel

Review 1:Food at breakfast buffet was horrible and didn't even look fresh which is sad. Staff is very unhelpful with any restaurant recommendations and when asked they just hand out a preprinted map with resturant names.

Review 2:Location is excellent if shopping is your thing. Car park at basement is convenient and reasonable at 1500yen/24hours with in/out privilege

Review 3:Furniture was outdated but functional. Location was great with easyaccess to food and shopping. Though it took us some time to figure outthe walk from the train station to the hotel. Overall, will stay thereagain for its location.

Review 4:The rooms need updating. It didn't match the modern look of the reception area.

Review 5:Right in the heart of Tenjin shopping district. In the same complex of the Nitshitetsu Bus Staion which is perfect when arriving by highway busses.

Review 6:Booking.com did not state that a double bed is actually meant for one person use. Luckily my husband and I are skinny people, we can fit in the double bed which has 2 pillows. Toiletry is given only for one person.

Review 7:Very near to JR Tenjin station and lots of shopping. On the 6th floor of Solaria Plaza and next to underground shopping street. The supermarket in the basement has tons of good food. Will still stay in this hotel if come to Tenjin.

Review 8:The decor was a little outdated

Review 9:The room was spacious compared to most hotels in the area. Also the location can't be beat. There were plenty of restaurants and shopping within the building along with underground connections to

Review 10:The first room, though a non-smoking room, smelt like an ash tray. However, the receptionist was quick to response when I complained about it - they changed the room immediately, moved all my luggage for me and brought me a air purifier. The second room was flawless.

Review 11:Location was just perfect. Overall, staffs were super friendly and professional. Rooms were relatively larger than those of similar 4 star hotels.

Review 12:The hotel facilities like swimming pools need extra charge which is unexpected.

Review 13:You can enjoy a comfort stay with a low price in this hotel. And it is located at the heart of the city and shopping areas which is so convenient.

Review 14:Good location and within walking distance to transport like tenjin station, buses, shopping and restaurants. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean.

Review 15:In my hotel room, I had found a couple of hair in the beds and shower rooms. I wish they were more keenly observed and I also wish the beds and bathrooms were more sanitary.

Review 16:I liked how the concierge and front desk staff were really kind and friendly. They were always willing to help whenever I ran into questions and they were quite reliable to get help.

Review 17:There was a mistake on the reservation but the clerks didnt apologize to us. First mistake was ok but it happened twice but there was no explanation or apology...It was therefore little bit disappointing.

Review 18:Have to pay the gym extra if you want to use it. Weird opening hours of the gym, open at 10am and close at 8pm.

Review 19:Great Location, beautiful room, convenient.

Review 20:Perfect location. Very helpful staff. The hotel upgraded the room for me, which was really a surprise. Very big room and amazing view. Great experience and will choose Solaria again for next visit to Fukuoka

Review 21:The property is a bit aged but it's neat overall.

Review 22:Perfect location, everything is so accessible. Room size not bad compared with other city hotels in Japan.

Review 23:1. Usually fully booked due to having had let several floors of the hotel to shops. 2. As it is 25 years old, many things are found to be too dirty to use, especially the toilets needed to be double cleaned.

Review 24:The best location of the new downtown, Tenjin Station area, in Fukuoka. No need to take any transportation around there. There´s everything around Nishitetsu Solaria Hotel.

Review 25:The restaurant for breakfast need to do some renovation . Breakfast do not have much choice for people taking western breakfast.

Review 26:Although the room is not updated but the bed is quite comfortable and the toilet is clean. The staffs are friendly but they need to improve English to avoid communication problem .

Review 27:None.

Review 28:Lot of Restaurants inside the hotel building.Convience stores, and branded shop like Louis Vuitton and Hermes are just outside the building. Hotel is near train station and bus stops.Staff are very accomodating speaks english good and give discount coupons for the restaurants. Overall we Love it will totally check in again.

Review 29:The front desk staff speaks absolutely NO English at all makes it impossible to get the most simple message across......the male staff don't even try! With only a sheet between you and a very heavy comforter ( the comforter has no cover) makes the sleeping quality POOR!

Review 30:Wonderful location!

Review 31:The car parking is not exactly at the hotel. It caused a bit confused at the beginning to get instruction. However, after you parked the car, it connected to the hotel lobby floor which is conveniences.

Review 32:Location is good that at the center of shopping outlet and restaurants. Staff is well trained but English could be improved. Room is clean and the amenities is good.

Review 33:Would have been a lot more convenient if the hotel staff speaks and understands English.

Review 34:Its accessibility to malls, restaurants, yatai stalls and subway.

Review 35:The exceptional service of the Front Office staff. Although I speak little or no Japanese, they patiently listened and endeavoured to answer all my questions. I wanted to know where to get a "samurai umbrella" for my grandson, and after an initial 'don't know' answer, the receptionist left a message to say they found the store, and showed me an Internet posting of it! She then called the store, made them hold it, and gave me the exact price to pay on collection. Needless to say, my grandson was happy and speechless when he saw it.

Review 36:At night I could hear talking voices from next or above or below rooms.

Review 37:The whole complex has everything including this hotel. Shopping, food, and the real tenjin life. Staff was super friendly and breakfast was better than only American style. Very satisfied.

Review 38:I wish the hotel could provide coin laundry service

Review 39:Hotel location is unbeatable! It is located on the hub of shopping, transportation and is surrounded by delicious food places

Review 40:Not enough elevators ( only 2 !! ). Only japanese TVchannels .

Review 41:Close to everything ! Huge number of excellent restaurants within walking distance (and even on the lobby level of the hotel ).

Review 42:Little or no help available for guests with luggage needing concierge or porter services. Breakfast buffet on the 17th floor could have a better selection of western menu selection.

Review 43:So central to Tenjin in Solaria Plaza Connected to Tenjin Kuko Line Subway via the underground shopping mall. Dozens of restaurants just outside the hotel reception. Very comfortable rooms. Breakfast on 17th floor is good value for money.

Review 44:1. Very few of the service staff can speak adequate English. Sometimes it is difficult to communicate our requests. This is unlike other non English speaking countries in Asia where I visit frequently where the Staff can speak adequate English eg Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei, Bangkok

Review 45:1. Excellent location for shopping & dining. 2. Good service from the curteous staff . 3. Hotel has clean facilities.

Review 46:Many people were waiting on each lever due to poor elevator capacity There were only 2 elevators!

Review 47:Perfect location, kind staffs, large rooms(compared other japan business hotels)

Review 48:Elevators require patience due to their overuse without an alternate stair option, and the parking situation is somewhat confusing.

Review 49:Upon arrival the staff was very accommodating and did a superb job of working through our language barrier. The room was perfect and the view of the city was amazing. Will return next time we are in the area.

Review 50:There are only two elevators, and are not for the private use of hotel guests. The reception counter has been moved from the ground floor to the 6th floor, but the hotel rooms are on the 11th to the 16th floor. Hotel guests have to queue up for a long time waiting for the two elevators as non-hotel guests take the same elevators to the floors below the 11th floor.

Review 51:The hotel has an excellent lication, can be accessed underground directly from the Tenji Station. The room is comfortably furnished and us extremely clean.

Review 52:The corridor links to public transport at level 6 was not open until 11.00 am.

Review 53:Excellent location with shopping centers around the vicinity. Good public transport within walking distance. Helpful and polite staff.

Review 54:Need to log in to wifi daily, such a hassle - since we stayed for 9 nights there. The rest all perfect at this price and location.

Review 55:The best location for eating and shopping.

Review 56:Very confusing to reach check-in desk, elevators were slow and packed, furnishings in room were a little outdated.

Review 57:Great location, huge room, nice bathtub!

Review 58:Difficult to fault, very satisfied with our stay here

Review 59:Wonderful accommodating staff Beautiful, clean Western style rooms Great location in the Tenjin area and easily accessed by subway from Hakata station (or a relatively inexpensive taxi ride) Fast, reliable wifi access Highly recommended

Review 60:- Breakfast buffet only, no a la carte - Rooms are little dated

Review 61:+ Helpful staff + Location was perfect for our group, with restaurants, shops and subway all within 2 mins walk from the hotel. + Rooms are a comfortable size

Review 62:What's not to like?

Review 63:Location 2 minutes from Tenjin railway station, superb view from panorama window in our room on 15th floor, the fact that they complied with my request for a quiet room on an upper floor, fast wifi, friendly staff, spotless room with elegant modern décor, super-comfy bed

Review 64:Hotel is located in the CENTER of Tenjin so whenever our little one is tired or ready for nappy time it was perfect. We asked for two beds put together and one baby guard so we didnt have problem worrying about kid falling.

Review 65:Nothing whatsoever.

Review 66:This hotel is in the heart of Tenjin yet within a few minutes covered walk to the subway to the airport and train station. By Japanese standards the room was massive and our view extensive. The hotel elevator takes directly into the heart of shopping and food. Staff were pleasant and thoughtful.

Review 67:The car park is under construction till end of 2014. You won't able to get in/out from midnight till morning, which is inconvenience.

Review 68:Staff are very helpful.

Review 69:The car park is under re-construction untill end of 2014. The temproary one will close at 12am!! Be careful!! But the front desk staff is so nice and take us to another hotel (nearby and under same group). Free travel to and from are free. Thanks to them once again!

Review 70:The wifi is great, sometimes it is faster than PCCW :P Near Taito station for games, Big Camera and a lot of shopping for ladies ^_^

Review 71:The location is great, you can find everything within walking distance. I have a 5 year old boy and a one year old baby, which can stay in the same room for free!

Review 72:They turn down the central air-conditioner after midnight which made me sweats and woke up. It would be good to have more choice of pillows.

Review 73:Location is superb. Staff is quite helpful. Room size is good in Japan.
