Reviews for Bagan Lodge
Review 1:breakfast was a bit disappointing. We ordered off the menu as there was no buffet but it wasn't very good. Terrible coffee.
Review 2:Beautifully designed rooms and pool area. Very good restaurant and dinner was good value. They had E - scooters for hire for getting around which were great.
Review 3:Dining staff service needs improvement. Meals came out very delayed between people and one dinner took 2 hours, even though we were the first customers.
Review 4:Beautiful facilities and setting. Friendly courteous staff, and had an amazing New Year's Eve there.
Review 5:Only one restaurant - we got bored off. Poor lighting inside villas.
Review 6:Large spacious villas. Well kept lawns and poolside. Lots of things on menu. Pretty good breakfast.
Review 7:The food. Whatever you do, don't eat here. Just get a courtesy car into new Bagan and get better food for 5 times less.
Review 8:Poolside area and gardens. Rooms are a good size.
Review 9:Had a Swedish massage but it was pretty average.
Review 10:Rooms are large, new and comfortably furnished. Nice landscaped gardens and pool. Polite and helpful staff.
Review 11:Food was average - very limited menu. Breakfast was below expectation.
Review 12:Spacious and quiet, good location and friendly staff. Extremely responsive reservation team - I asked for a tour guide via email ahead of our stay, the hotel responded within a single day with specific charges and options, and was able to make the booking immediately for me. The guide arrived on time as soon as we checked into the hotel. The seamless arrangement helped us save a lot of time. The guide that we used was called Han Zawlin. He was fantastic - gently-spoken, knowledgable, thoughtful, organised, with great attention to details. He really looked after us well during our two days and we left feeling that we have indeed seen the very best of Bagan! I would highly recommend him if you had the chance to request specifically. Room was very clean - we had a whole lodge to ourselves and it felt both secured and secluded.
Review 13:There are not many options for food and nightlife in the vicinity
Review 14:It is a heaven of peace with a beautiful pool and extensive grounds. The bungalow was spacious and comfortable, with classic and elegant decoration.
Review 15:Check in was a bit unorganized.
Review 16:Room: super! great lodge, comfy bed, spacious. Breakfast: excellent. Nice swimming pool including drink/food services. Internet works quite well. Hotel offers transfers from/to airport. Also offers bikes and e-scooters with a reasonable fee
Review 17:We were by far the youngest guests there (in our early 30's). So, if you want somewhere with a bit of a younger scene, this is not it! Saying that, just pop on your bike and within 15 mins you can be in old bagan.
Review 18:The rooms (villas/bungalows) are amazing. The pool is awesome although not very "private" as its the centre piece! Location is slightly out of town but we loved this as we could explore more on the electric bikes (definitely hire one!!).
Review 19:the location is a bit far out of the city, the hotel staff will organize an e-bike for you(check the lights! mine didn't work and it's dangerous to drive after sundawn on the dark streets of Bagan)
Review 20:The room was just great! big space, bathroom with bath tub and shower, I enjoyed my 3nightstay. tv and wifi did work. nice swimmingpool
Review 21:everything excellent - the first night our pizza's where burned and they offered us a free mail the next evening and a free massage (thanks for that)
Review 22:very good, good e-bike to visit whole of bagan - friendly staff - good food
Review 23:Location was a little outside New Bagan. Don't expect a staff member from the pool bar to bring you a cocktail menu to your sun lounge - you'll need to go and ask for one. Garden is just getting established, so there's not yet a lush oasis vibe.
Review 24:Great breakfast spread. Huge room. Awesome aircon. Luxurious bathroom. We enjoyed coming back for a dip in the nice pool after sightseeing. Quality e-bikes.
Review 25:It is a little out if the way, but we rented bikes during the day to see the sights. Just at night it makes it a little difficult to explore the happening areas. You can hire a driver who will wait for you as you done in off-property restaurants. I wouldn't let this be a deterrent though, the lodge was fantastic.
Review 26:The rooms are very clean and spacious. The pool is wonderful which was a nice treat after visiting the temples. The free breakfast is excellent. Staff went out of their way to make our stay be truly wonderful.
Review 27:The service was extremely friendly! For example, on our last day out bus to Yangon departed at 8pm and they offered us a late check out at 6pm as well as a complimentary transport to the bus station.
Review 28:The room was clean and spacious, the pool was great and the grounds of the hotel very well maintained. We highly recommend this hotel, the staff members were professional and attentive. The front desk was very helpful in arranging different tours. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of options. Overall great value for the money.
Review 29:We were fortunate to have our own driver with vehicle - otherwise this is a little far from the restaurants etc., but I do believe the Lodge has a courtesy vehicle. Slight bad odour from shower drain, and outdoors it was also noticeable at times.
Review 30:The rooms are VERY spacious with a fabulous veranda with x 2 sun loungers - the bathroom excellent too - a stand alone shower x 2 wash basins, plus a separate loo. Very tasteful decor, and bungalows are spaced through the grounds. Lovely pool with dining room on one side.
Review 31:Far from old bagan (minor point)
Review 32:Beautiful resort, ample space, impressive food / probably best salads I've had in the country, best tea leaf salad I've had and great cocktails - try amaretto sour
Review 33:Really nice lodge, good standart and style of the rooms. The staff was helpfull and friendly all the time! Wifi is very good for myanmar standarts. Bike and e-bike rental at the hotel.
Review 34:This resort was fantastic Great big rooms with everything you need in them Awesome restaurant overlooking a magical swimming pool The General Manager Mr Dissanayake is there to welcome you when you arrive and takes time to get to know the guests during your stay ensuring that all your needs are met This in turn has given his staff the confidence and willingness to assist and go beyond their role to ensure that you are a satisfied guest I had a great stay and would highly recommend this resort
Review 35:It's a 15 minutes walk to the restaurants in New Bagan, the first 5 minutes along a dark road where you need a torch (provided by the hotel). It would be nice if the hotel foresaw some kind of shuttle.
Review 36:Very beautiful hotel, excellent service and spacious rooms.
Review 37:The restaurant deserves a cheaper prices, but there are many alternative places where you can eat
Review 38:Bagan its a paradise place, highly recomended. The resort is fantastic. There is a lot to see in Bagan, but the couple of hours we spent in the resort itself were magnificant in the swimming pool and bar. The staff speaks an amasing english, considering the Myanmar average. The sunset from one of the pagodas you can climb is amazing
Review 39:no buffet breakfast, bacon tastes old, ham turned out to be a corned beef from the tin, espresso costs an extra $3! Language skills of staff, especially in the restaurant, is not sufficient for one of the most expensive resorts in Bagan 80m² room, but A/C blew down on our bed - could be better constructed
Review 40:brand new, very stylish Resort just outside New Bagan, location a bit remote but with the E-bikes no problem staff at reception very polite, large swimming pool area is well maintained extra large rooms with very tasteful interior, wooden floors, colonial-style furniture, extensive bathroom and separate WC E-bike service for $8 per day is worth the Money nearby is a temple where you are allowed to climb up - great place to watch sunrise
Review 41:Awesome staff who got us out of a serious issue we had when one of our children was injured. They simply couldn't have done more, from the Manager to every member of staff. Wonderful. This plus a beautiful resort make this a special place.
Review 42:The foods are slightly disappointing. Tried both western and local cuisine at the hotel restaurant, it was not up to the standard of the hotel. Hotel is quite far out from the rest and main visiting site but Bagan is so small, not a major issue.
Review 43:Staffs are exceptionally friendly and always ready to help. The rooms are new and spacious. `
Review 44:Nothing - everything, from the small touches like fruit in the room to ensuring the resort was insect free were brilliant
Review 45:By far the best service that we received in Mynamar coupled with high quality facilities and room. This is a good 5* hotel
Review 46:when we went to the room by the end of the day, there was a terrible smell (cesspool), but the staff took care of it immediately while we went out for dinner and gave the possibility to change rooms...
Review 47:beautiful room and wonderful pool.
Review 48:Nothing disliked.
Review 49:All the staff are truly nice, everyone shows the best hospitality. Really enjoyed our 6 nights stay in Bagan Lodge. Will definitely back again!
Review 50:The only fault - though I have since figured out that's not the hotels fault - is a faily unpleasant sewage smell from the bathroom. I read this in many reviews of hotels in Bagan, in all price categories, and have had a similar problem in another hotel. I am guessing that's just the sewage system there and they can't do much about it - but at least there you have individual cabins and you can air through.
Review 51:The staff was wonderfully helpful extending to more difficult requests like a specific local sim card with loaded with data. We liked the location as it wasn't in the middle of one of the old/new Bagan towns but pretty much on its own. It does mean you have to find transport of some sort (eBikes will do the job) to get into "town" for dinner or some shopping. Food was good though so you can have dinner there. The pool looked very inviting, unfortunately we didn't have enough time to enjoy it! Hiring of eBikes is uncomplicated and possible at short notice for a pretty low price. Overall with all the travelling we did, it was a lovely oasis of calm - would def recommend.
Review 52:Only downside is the location, a bit outside of New Bagan or Nyaung Oo, which means it is impossible to walk to the village's restaurants at night... a cab or motorbike is needed.
Review 53:Bagan lodge is a world class hotel in Bagan, where few of these options exists.
Review 54:Pervasive smell of sewage apparently coming from ventilated cesspits and from recycled irrigation water. Staff barely speak English. Disappointing breakfast.
Review 55:Very tastefully designed new hotel - spacious rooms, comfortable beds, beautiful furniture, floors and fittings. Nice pool but really cold in December!
Review 56:A free shuttle to the restaurants in New Bagan would be welcome. Although everything is walking distance, the first 400 yards from the hotel into town are pitch dark. Alternatively, the hotel could have a few street lights installed on the road near the hotel direction New Bagan.
Review 57:The hotel is conveniently located near New Bagan. They have bikes or e-bikes for rent to go and see the temples. The hotel is brand new and very clean. Garden needs some maturing.
Review 58:The driver was late to pick us up at the airport. The shower's water temperature is not stable.
Review 59:Free airport pick-up service. Its location close to most of the sight-seeing points. Staff's hospitality and itinerary suggestion.
Review 60:Blinds didn't entirely block the light Smell from shower drain for first day or so
Review 61:Huge rooms in great condition Large, clean pool Fantastic massages Close enough to reach temples and restaurants by electric bike Electric bikes available onsite Helpful staff Nice restaurant Reasonably priced airport transfers
Review 62:My friend and I had a wonderful time in Bagan Lodge. We stayed in the hotel for three nights ( 4th Oct- 7th Oct). It's far beyond our expectation: the hotel is wonderfully designed, room is spacious, modern and clean, each room has a small patio where you can lay in the chair and watch the sky at night. The location is okay, with an electric bicycle, old Bagan is only 15 mins ride away. Lovely pool and great breakfast, the most important thing is the staff is very friendly and helpful. In general, the hotel is very well managed.
Review 63:Spa was fantastic and the manager of the spa was amazing. The restaurant onsite was impressive and we found our room very comfortable.
Review 64:Professional and friendly staff, beautiful rooms. No obligatory new years dinner but facultative
Review 65:Food in restaurant so so- and staff hit and miss
Review 66:Nice rooms, beautiful facilities,
Review 67:The property is nice and quite new. The way rooms are disposed, really look like a lodge. Good structure.
Review 68:Nothing not to like about the place actually
Review 69:Free wifi. Good internet speed
Review 70:The food was ok, not great
Review 71:The rooms are beautiful and staff very friendly
Review 72:Everything Beautiful resort And Villas Great staff
Review 73:The staff and the service were excellent. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 74:A little bit away from the action ( location)
Review 75:Great pool. Friendly staff. And brilliant rooms.
Review 76:the location is a little isolated to the restaurants or view sights
Review 77:good service and accommodation
Review 78:relaxing & quiet place, nice salads ;)

Review 100:Beautiful hotel, nice villas, nice pool area.
Review 101:Everything was perfect. Everybody was so helpful, solving all kind of requests. Would definitely go back.
Review 102:Quite Cold pool water
Review 103:-Comfort Rooms and spacious bathrooms - good breakfast
Review 104:Location a bit out of the way and the hotel price. But the good service is worth it
Review 105:Good customer service, excellent room facilities and cleaniness
Review 106:Location a bit remote but you need to have a transportation mean in Bagan anyhow.
Review 107:Brand new resort. Superb facilities.
Review 108:Construction work going on but did not impede our wonderful time. Wish the Happy Hour was longer. LOL
Review 109:Excellent facilities. Attentive staff and very helpful.
Review 110:None!
Review 111:Beautiful Hotel, big rooms, comfortable beds, bathrooms are great, have 2 sinks and separate shower and bath tub, wifi in room, nice pool, great food at the restaurant, relaxing and clean spa, close to the airport (10-15 min drive), central location to new and old Bagan.
Review 112:Lack of trees and shadow, the hotel is brand new, needs time to get more atmosphere. Location away from everything, almost impossible to go out at night, or only in new Bagan. 15mn bike ride from any temple. Wi-fi almost unusable.
Review 113:Nice layout, big and very comfortable room. Good Food and affordable wines Nice pool
Review 114:The staff were pleasant and eager to pleased but could still do with more training. But the resort looks as it has the right recipe for even greater success.
Review 115:The rooms were wonderfully decorated and outfitted with all modern luxuries; they resemble a posh safari tent. The food was reasonably good and there were enough options nearby if required.
Review 116:Wi-fi rarely functioned
Review 117:Spacious room with lovely decor; loved large bath with separate sinks. Liked quiet location.
Review 118:Very basic hotel. Simple level of staff.
Review 119:New , limited number of bungalows
Review 120:Noisy rooms
Review 121:Staff, architecture, pool, restaurant
Review 122:All good
Review 123:Very good stay Helpful and generally excellent
