Review 6:We liked everything. The room was great, lovely bedding and towels. The gardens were a delight, the hostess was a great host and so much was provided. Breakfast was magnificent

Review 7:The loo/bathroom was far too small. I am afraid it would put us off returning because of that. Otherwise the experience was great

Review 9:We loved the whole ambiance and experience of The Martinborough Connection. It is a beautiful historic residence and Barbara is the perfect B&B host, paying the utmost attention to every detail, from the wine and cheese on arrival, the chocolates next to the bed and the wonderful breakfast made with the freshest local ingredients. We felt thoroughly spoilt. The B&B is also within walking distance of the Martinborough cafes, restaurants and shops.

Review 10:The hostess Barb was amazing. She made you feel so welcome the minute you rang the bell. The room was very comfortable and clean and had a lovely outlook into garden. The little treats were lovely and the breakfast was yummy.

Review 11:Brilliant breakfast. Properly cooked full breakfast with absolutely everything including proper fried potatoes and perfectly poached eggs. Also fruit, yoghurt etc.

Review 12:Owner is terrific. She made us feel like home, inviting us for wine and cheese whenever we wanted. She accommodates everyone's schedule and cooked breakfast when we woke up. Sitting at the fire with other guests chatting was a nice touch too. Free bikes for wine touring was also great. Thanks Barbara

Review 13:We were offered a warm welcome and quickly shown to our charming, well appointed room. The shared guest area was hugely welcoming, as was the supply of small eats and drinks. The breakfast was outstanding.

Review 14:Hostess Barbara was fantastic, couldn't, have made us more welcome or comfortable ,nothing was too much trouble. Great location too. Best breakfast ever!

Review 15:It was amazing. Amazing friendly service, great amenity and breakfast in the morning. Even ironed a shirt for us, and turned the heater on when she knew we would late back.

Review 16:the room could have been a little bit bigger, small insignificant detail though really!

Review 17:The host was fantastic, very welcoming from the word go, there was plenty of complementary local wine and beer, the breakfast was free range and home cooked along with many high quality condiments. the room was very clean and the bed was warm with an electric blanket, organic body wash and hand wash from a local producer.

Review 18:Operator was friendly, very easy to communicate with and approachable, she went out if her way to make us welcome. Excellent facilities, beautiful relaxing areas inside and out. Will definitely recommend and use again. Provided complimentary wine and nibbles and fantastic breakfast.

Review 19:The lady who runs the place is just so awesome. She's really lovely and nothing is any trouble. She goes the extra mile. The gardens are beautiful and the place is situated in a great locality. Very quiet and peaceful. Loved it.Beautiful old wooden charm.

Review 20:Jenny the hostess was very friendly and put everyone at ease - introduced other parties to each other. Hospitality, setting and breakfast outstanding. Garden - beautiful.

Review 21:Small bathroom with poor fitting door Unpersonal host Noise in room from neighbouring rooms and hosts

Review 22:Free wifi Proximity to town Free Snacks and wine

Review 23:Now let me think - ummmmmmmmmm! I'm still thinking

Review 24:Close to town, décor, cleanliness, breakfast offering fantastic. Nice and warm lounge. Definitely going back with friends. Have already told people of this B& B. Met with a lovely smile.

Review 25:There was absolutely nothing we didn't like

Review 26:We were greeted by a very cheerful welcoming woman, and a lovely open fire. The quality of the linen was a luxury. The cooked breakfast was divine.

Review 27:Early morning traffic on the main road outside

Review 28:Barbara's hospitality was one of the best b&b experiences we've had in NZ. Greeted with a roaring fire, snacks and beverages that we could help ourselves to, then a disco nap in a pre-warmed bed and room with divine linen sheets, and sans kids, it was the perfect couples getaway. Continental and/or cooked brekkie the next morn. Perfect!

Review 29:Nothing would stay here again in a heart beat

Review 30:Fantastic location, host and place. The full package. The heater was on in our room when we arrive since we were late check in, a lovely and welcoming surprise for a chilly night.

Review 31:If I had to complain about something it would be that the room was a little too warm... which, in the middle of winter, is probably the better side to err on.

Review 32:The quality, atmosphere and service were exceptional. Centrally located within walking distance to the town centre.

Review 33:The owner greeted us with a warm smile, she immediately made us feel comfortable by lighting the fireplace and providing us with some snacks, coffee and even wine :) The next day she provided us with a very delicious big breakfast and really went out of her way to make us feel welcome. We will definitely stay here again!

Review 34:We were in martinborough for an evening for a wedding. David and his partner gave us a warm welcome to their lovely B&B and the room was very comfy. Breakfast was amazing and the lounge facilities great.

Review 35:No bad experience but the only thing we would advise is to have tea/coffee facilities in the room.....

Review 36:The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The room was also very clean and tidy and excellent service. We had a lovely breakfast with good choices. Overall excellent stay!

Review 37:Traffic noise from Jellicoe in the night was annoying. Should have brought my earplugs. That would have sorted it out.

Review 38:The hospitality was faultless. The grounds were gorgeous. The room was small but wholly sufficient. The breakfast was exceptional and unexpected.

Review 39:Ensuite is of minimal size, had to dry oneself in bathroom area. I hope the next owners (On the Market) can do something about this. A quick, easy, but temporary fix would be to put the sliding door on the outside of the wall

Review 40:Discovered it was the same B&B we had stayed at many years ago with our whole family (for a wedding)

Review 41:The owners were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very comfortable and in a beautiful setting. A good, substantial breakfast. The local town/village is lovely. Good food available locally. Very good value.

Review 42:A little noisy in the morning as traffic went past the house, its right on the road which gets a bit noisy with folk going off to work and the bedrooms (well the little bathroom which had no door) fronts onto the road.

Review 43:the location, could walk to the little town. The yummy cooked breakfast shared with other guests in the cosy lounge/ dining room. The whole ambience of the place...it's so pretty and welcoming...and quiet at the back in the pretty garden.

Review 44:We felt we were intruding in someone's home. The floors creaked and you could hear people move in the other rooms.

Review 45:If you like B&Bs this one was lovely.

Review 46:Hosts were brilliant, location super handy for town, and breakfast was amazing - fresh fruit, cereal, toast, etc - and a cooked brekkie to follow. Awesome. Couldn't have felt more at home. Great shared facilities too, and a very pretty garden.

Review 47:The walls were paper thin - you could hear everything happening in next unit. Room was tiny. Parking poor.

Review 48:Very clean and tidy. Good quality appointments.

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:David and Lorraine made us feel most welcome. Rooms clean and very comfortable. Breakfast very good. Location within easy walking distance to the square.

Review 51:Very noisey in the morning being right next to the dinning room. No hot breakfast was available due to one staff member being away.

Review 52:Very nice room and bed

Review 53:Curtains allowed light from cars in, not a big issue as once asleep we didn't mind.

Review 54:Staff were friendly and welcoming. Place was in excellent location and was easily accessible fro/to town. Breakfast was amazing thank you!

Review 55:There wasn't anything we didn't 'like' but the only reason I didn't score the facilities 'excellent' was that the en suite in our delightfully furnished little bedroom was a bit too cramped though everything worked well - good shower too.

Review 56:Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful, suggesting places we might like to visit and David recommended several of the popular restaurants and cafes they and other guests enjoyed. Lorraine served the most generous and beautifully presented breakfast ever! All done seemingly effortlessly!

Review 57:Beautiful B&B, friendly staff very welcoming, clean and warm. Excellent facilities, surroundings and amazing breakfast. We booked all 4 rooms and we all would definitely return.

Review 58:Bathroom a little cramped but we chose the room out of 2 and selected the larger room knowing the bathroom was a little smaller.

Review 59:Friendly owners. Excellent breakfast. Pleasant surroundings. We found the experience really great. A lovely character home.

Review 60:Lovely facilities, welcoming hosts, beautiful gardens and rooms. Had a fantastic time with the other guests and amazing brekky. Will definitely return!

Review 61:Thin walls and creaky floors - person walking in the next room sounded as though they were in ours... Tea & coffee making was in lounge - no facility in bedrooms - not so good for wake-up cup of tea.

Review 62:Lovely peaceful garden Very nice breakfast Comfortable character home Very welcoming

Review 63:The fact that we stayed only one night. Definitely should have gone for at least two!

Review 64:- Hosts. They were very friendly, recommended places to visit etc. - Breakfast included in the price of the accomodation. It was such a rich breakfast, literally blew my mind! Even catered for our high dietary needs.

Review 65:Room was what you'd expect by the pictures....felt like grandma's house. Nothing fancy....no frills, just functional and clean... met our needs. Definitely the smallest bathroom I've ever been in. I'm a small person and could barely fit comfortably in the shower.

Review 66:Hosts were absolutely lovely people and made a wonderful, large breakfast with eggs made to order, bacon, coffee, tea, juice, muesli, cereal, yogurt, plums, and toast with jam and butter. They definitely made us feel welcome. House is 8-10 min walk to the square, in a very quiet area. Small, but pretty back yard/gardens. There appeared to be 3 rooms for rent, all of which open to the outside, separately from the main house. Your key still works to get into the living room area with a tv (Sky) and fireplace though (no tv in your bedroom).

Review 67:Breakfast was fantastic, and the owners really made us feel relaxed and at home. The open fireplace was also very comforting. Thanks for a very pleasant short stay!

Review 68:There was an initial mix up with the booking, but it was sorted straight away. Our shower wasn't hot, just luke warm which was disappointing. Family in other room had hot shower, notified owener and they will get it fixed.
