Reviews for Queen's Hotel

Review 1:Elevator was used only for exceptional cases.

Review 2:Good location, very nice staff, comfortable bed, wifi working fine in the room. Excelent breakfast buffet and nice to have 24 h free coffe and tea in the lobby

Review 3:Very good location very close to the main tourist attractions and clubs, yet walking distance away so you get peace and quiet. close to transportation and shops. Room was spacious clean, windows could be open for fresh air, large bathroom, wifi, gym, really good place to stay

Review 4:It is an old building. Breakfast OK.

Review 5:Great localisation. Walking distance to the main attractions. A lot of shops and restaurants nearby. Spacious room for three people. Great bed.

Review 6:Breakfast was just ok. Choose breakfast on a closeby cafe instead. Not very important, but the rooms could use some decorations.

Review 7:Perfect location. Walking distance to city and cityterminalen. Very comfy beds.

Review 8:There was some noise, but only for one day. They have taken my pyjamas with the sheets and, even though I complained, they did not return them. Ask to see their pyjamas collection!

Review 9:Clean room, nice bathroom. Good location.

Review 10:_No baby cot set up on arrival as requested at time of booking. _ Planned electricity maintenance not communicated, leaving us with no electricity for more than 3 hours. _ Staff keep forgetting to check and do what we discussed, i.e. no baby cot in our room, extra night not booked, lost our toiletry ... _ No safe in the room. _ Breakfast was less than average at best _ Housekeeping staff enter the room at the same time as they are knocking, leaving no chance to answer! ... lucky we were dressed at that time! _ Front desk staff was not willing to extend my stay directly with them and redirect me to book online instead!

Review 11:_ Very good Central location _ Quiet streets and backyard. _ Good cleanliness _Free WIFI

Review 12:Breakfast was less than inspiring, and there seems to be a "clearyour own table" regime operating, which we defied. There is room noise from the street and adjoining rooms which will disturb most sleepers. Hearing music from an unspecified location at 0630 was not the nicest way to wake up. Only one roller blind was present in our room so making the room dark for sleeping was hard, and the curtains are not quite good enough at closing for privacy. That knocks this off the honeymooners' list at once. Another washbasin with a missing plug. Is this a Stockholm tradition or are we back in the USSR? Finding electricity in the rooms was a treasure hunt. The sockets (plentiful) by the bed did not operate, and we had to go diving under the desk in order to unplug their stuff and plug in our stuff. This is the only hotel in Sweden that has asked to see our passports! The clerk had no idea why he needed to record them.

Review 13:Good shower, comfy beds, but beware the wooden bed surround, it hurts!!It's a decent, older style, city centre one time apartment block turned into a budget hotel. You get what you expect for the money.

Review 14:We had a little problem with curtains in room and it took some time to solve it.

Review 15:Best is situation of hotel, very closed to old town and turistics places.

Review 16:Location is close to shopping street and central station. Hotel provides complimentary drinks at the lobby. Staff were friendly, ready to help and special thanks to Sasha!

Review 17:The room was spacious and clean, the breakfast tasty and varied, the bathroom almost new. Though there was no air conditioning, the large windows opened enough for good ventilation. The staff members were knowledgeable and helpful. The hotel was within comfortable walking distance of the old town and harbor, and most of the tourist sights.

Review 18:Overpriced for what you get! We paid 4.600 SEK (490 EUR) for 2 rooms and one night in a weekend. Final quality touch in the room and hotel setting is missing. For examples - no external coat hangers in the room (we had wet coats), only one extra pillow in a double room (the front desk could not find more), no tea/coffee facilities in the room, no wine glasses for a glass of wine in the room (the hotel has no bar), toilet chair loos and wobbling, shower holder loose (remarked on both at the front desk at check out - these are issues that the cleaning staff should alert the management about in a well-managed hotel), breakfast below Swedish hotel standard in this price class.

Review 19:The location. Close to city centre and communications (railway stn with connections to airport, ferries etc)

Review 20:Hotel is an easy walk from train station and located at the quiet end of an interesting pedestrian-only street that has plenty of nearby restaurants. Easy to explore the city from this location. Also liked the spacious room with big windows and the feel of being in an old sprawling home.

Review 21:Beds could have been a bit more comfortable The hotel could use a facelift NO WiFi in the room; very inconvenient to have to use the hotel lobby Very noisy at night

Review 22:The facility was centrally located. A good value for an expensive city;

Review 23:Absence of plug in washbasin [although this is often the case in Sweden]. Lack of comfortable chair in bedroom.

Review 24:Pleasant helpful staff at reception. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Good central location.

Review 25:Not possible to get the wifi in our room. Not the fault of the hotel, but due to the uncharacteristic heat wave when we were there, air conditioning would have been good - as due to the excellent city centre location it was impossible to sleep with the windows open - due noise!

Review 26:Excellent location! Very comfy bed. Friendly staff

Review 27:We had had a problem with our airline (they had lost our backpack) and the staff was amazingly helpful to figure things out. They called the local airport as well as several international numbers on our behalf, made all the necessary arrangements, advised us on where to buy stuff. All of them were great, day in, day out. Christopher, in the afternoon/evening shift, was particularly solicitous. Thank you so much, guys!

Review 28:No bad experiences.

Review 29:Excellent location, clean and spacious room, excellent shower, very comfortable bed. Good value for money, would definitely stay here again.

Review 30:the curtains were awful as is was impossible to draw them the whole way to the end of the windows. There were not a good wifi connection. We had to go out of the room. It was also a roow near a noisy car street so there was a lot of traffic late at night.

Review 31:The location is very good and also the breakfast.

Review 32:poor breakast and very small room for eating...crowded I can say.

Review 33:the persons working there were very kind and helpful; the room was quite big ( 19sqm), but with a tinny bathroom, where indeed you had everything needed in a bath. the location is excellent, as you can reach all mainly just walking.

Review 34:You pay more the location than for the actual room, but it's ok since you won't be staying indoors, at least not most of the time.

Review 35:Located on one of the main streets next to a wonderful cafe and next to an "famous" tapas-restaurant La boheme.

Review 36:Internet did not work in our room - was great in the lobby and breakfast room. Since we were relying on internet to stay in touch with people we were frustrated that we had to go down to the lobby to get the internet to work

Review 37:Great location, breakfast was very good, helpful and friendly staff. Within walking distance to many Stockholm attractions and very close to both the central train station and subway station.

Review 38:No bad experiences; I would wish more TV channels...

Review 39:Excellent breakfast, the possibility to make tea or coffee during the day, discretion of the personell, clean place.

Review 40:A little street noise in the early evening, and trash pickup very early in the am on the street but that happens in all old hotels when you have the windows open. We got used to it. First impression of hotel reception was not good but I believe they were doing remodeling ... Also beware of taxi rides. Ask driver before you hire what his rate is.

Review 41:The staff were excellent. Very helpful! Bed and pillows good, shower excellent. Large clean room. We would recommend this hotel and we loved Stockholm.

Review 42:The wooden boxes around the beds was too close to the top of the mattresses and you often bumped into the hard edges with shins and elbows. Poorly designed modern bathroom in our room leaving little leg room in front of the toilet.

Review 43:You can stroll down Drottningg, a pedestrian only street, past shops and restaurants to the Old Town, within 10 minutes. A quiet hotel, where the breakfast staff work hard. Lots of lovely parks nearby.

Review 44:Some monitoring of the cleaning staff is required to ensure they are doing a complete job.

Review 45:Good location with access to lots of amenities - shopping, restaurants and metro service.

Review 46:The room was quite basic, although comfy. The internet did not work at all.

Review 47:The area is the best to be in Stockholm, very central and close to everything.

Review 48:Had to wait until 4pm to get the rooms. Rooms very simple, but good enough for one night stay. Ikea low-quality furniture.

Review 49:Good location, nice breakfast (but too little salad & fresh products)

Review 50:stayed 4 nights, room had not been cleaned from previous tenant when I arrived, and, after a very brief supposed clean was not cleaned for the rest of my stay. Never entirely sure about the sheets on that other side f the bed.

Review 51:Excellent location, surrounded by cafes and shops, easy access to metro for longer explorations.

Review 52:Very bad attitude of reception personel. We asked for breakfast to go, but they didnt prepared any for us and also there was huge problem wit issuing us an invoice, we do not have it untill now, altrough they were supposed to send it!!!

Review 53:very clean and centraly located, near to railway station.

Review 54:The hotel looks a little 'worn'. as it has snowed heavily the days before, a small truck cleared the pedestrian street of snow ALL NIGHT which left me unable to sleep as the windows are not well insulated.

Review 55:The location is excellent and the staff very friendly. My room was spacious and the bed comfortable.

Review 56:1. Booked 2 rooms - only 1 was available on arrival, took over an hour waiting to sort out. 2. Walls between rooms are very thin - I could take part in conversation with my neighbours if I wanted to. 3. The streets outside the hotel were noisy from very early morning.

Review 57:Very central location

Review 58:Old-fashioned charm - including parquet wood flooring in my room, old-style cage lift/elevator, alongside modern facilities including recently refurbished bathroom. Great central location (10 mins walk from central station). For Stockholm, it is excellent value for money.

Review 59:Building is converted into hotel from apartments, so all sound is heard from the rooms next door - even normal talking comes through clear. Lots of bright light shine in through the windows even with the curtains drawn. Rooms are large but only have 1 sitting chair and no table

Review 60:Location is great, free wifi is fast and reliable, staff was friendly, rooms were clean and spacious

Review 61:There are no electric tea-kettles in the rooms, only on the reception floor. It`s not expensive to drink some coffee, but if you need some boiled water (to take medicine) - it is a problem, far to go downstairs.

Review 62:Quiet, rather comfortable hotel in the end of the central trade street, what was important for us - several 3-beds rooms. Usually it is not cheap, but sometimes you can wait and receive reduce of the price (two-three days before the date of your stay).

Review 63:The bed was narrow and the wooden box around the matress was dangerous for me. The Internet connection in my room was poor.

Review 64:Location, breakfast, size of the room

Review 65:Perfect location, nice personnel available 24/7, good breakfast. I stayed in a small but clean and cosy double room. Luggage room available after check out.

Review 66:short walk from train station to hotel, which was in centre for shops and sights. great room for a single person clean and modern bathroom. good breakfast

Review 67:- The room was cold and the heating wasn't on yet. - An unpleasant surprise! Our room had a locked door that connected it to the room next to it, but there was a small gap through which one could actually see the light and hear every sound. So, that significantly reduced the level of privacy.

Review 68:- Localization (shopping area) - Great breakfast - Comfortable bed - Close to the train station - Value for money

Review 69:Our room looked worn out with very basic facilities. There was a connecting door to the neighbor room which caused the sound transfer easily. No coffee or tea facilities in the room and we had to go to the reception to get tea or coffee.

Review 70:Excellent location, very good staff, clean rooms and good breakfast

Review 71:- Reception guy at check - in ( Thomas) - too many things to mention - Elevator - often not working - Most rooms look like hostel rooms and not 3* hotel

Review 72:- Location - Lobby - Reception guy at check-out - extremely polite and helpful - Breakfast

Review 73:There is only ever one person on the front desk, so if it's busy you can wait for some time.

Review 74:The hotel is situated on the pedestrian thoroughfare, which makes it ideal for visitors to the city. Our room was on the road, but there was no noise with the windows closed and we got the morning sun, which was a bonus. The front desk gave us great recommendations for local restaurants. The breakfast wasn't fancy but it was certainly sufficient. Every hotel in Stockholm is expensive for tourists so in context we felt the hotel was good value.

Review 75:No soaps, just some bulk really really awful cheap shower/shampoo gel. No slippers. 1st room was really small and unpleasant, and had to complain to get a better one.

Review 76:Location 2nd room was better (still overpriced though)

Review 77:There were no facilities. There was a step to the bathroom which I missed a few times. The internet was not connected to a printer so I had problems printing my boarding ticket for my flight home.

Review 78:Great location, convenient for Central Station and main shopping area. Very central. The bed was ever so comfortable. Staff were helpful and instructive.

Review 79:bathroom facilities were adequate but certainly not luxurious

Review 80:fantastic and central location generous and healthy breakfast buffet excellent bed and sleeping comfort

Review 81:They seemed to have my payment in a bit of a fix. I had paid 6 months in advance, yet they wanted my credit card to guarantee this amount. What?

Review 82:The location is amongst restaurants and is close to public transport, especially the airport railway.

Review 83:Room 100 was very basic and had road and street noise. Room 110 was a lot better both in size, decoration, en-suit facilities and comfortable bed. Towels still seem well used.

Review 84:It's central location

Review 85:The bedrooms could do with an air conditioning unit for the summer months. I had to have the windows open overnight and this did not help with getting a good night's sleep.

Review 86:The hotel was very clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was pretty good too.

Review 87:No hot water kettle in room. There was only 1 warm dish (scrambled eggs) for breakfast. Would have been better if there were more warm dishes options.

Review 88:Breakfast was good, and the catering staff was friendly.

Review 89:Had to pay upfront for the room. Never experienced this before!! Staff argued that this was normal in Sweden!!!???? Our room faced the street, so was very noisy, and we did not even have the windows opened! Could not close curtains properly, so light from the street at night was disturbing. Miniscule bathroom, had to sit sideways on the toilet so as not to bump my head on the wall. Room okay, but with a lot of stains on the couch, walls and floor. Very small wardrobe for a double room. Photos on booking.com must be very old. Hotel and our room looked much older and un-renovated. Breakfast too simple, limited and boring, considering the large price paid for our room. Good for one meal, but we had to eat the same things for 5 days. Breakfast tables were mostly messy as they were not cleaned after use. We had to first wipe our table before setting down. Staff were only there to re-fill the platters it seemed.

Review 90:Located on a pedestrian/shopping street, where most tourist attractions are easy to reach by foot. A lot of eateries around the hotel, and the central station is nearby too. Our room was big and was cleaned every day. Fast Wi-Fi that always worked. Staff were friendly and helpful, and answered all our questions about the city.

Review 91:The Queen's Hotel is so large and spread out you might get lost looking for the elevator. But once you do, you'll find it delightful. My room overlooked the main street. but was quiet not too late in the evening. It was spacious and functional with character. The English speaking staff is patient and friendly though highly professional.

Review 92:Beautiful old building that has been renovated to be modern and comfortable. The room was clean and large enough to accommodate all of us. Bathroom was roomy and had a hairdryer. The large windows in our room overlooking the courtyard were superb. The room was quiet and comfortable even with the windows wide open.

Review 93:The room was way too hot to sleep in July heat! Receptionist looked a bit bored and could've smiled a bit more.

Review 94:Location, atmosphere, cute backyard, cute rooms, desent breakfast with fresh fruit and basics, price was ok, rooms were tidy

Review 95:Air con would be great.. The room was really hot.

Review 96:Location was excellent. We stayed in a triple room and it was great to have a three"real" beds instead of a double bed + sofabed. Breakfast was good.

Review 97:To stay only two nights

Review 98:Staff :kind and helpfull Location: just in the middle of Drottinggatan Room: wide, clean with confortable beds and large windows.

Review 99:Not able to have a cab park outside the hotel. Too many trips with luggage to and from the corner where parking is very difficult especially with a rented car. Hooks in the bathrooms for makeup bags, teeth/mouth/soap face care bag. No place but toilet seat to put things. down.

Review 100:Staff (Front Desk) was very helpful. The food choices were good. The hotel was quiet. Great, great location. My "Didn't like" are things that would be more helpful to people over 60yrs.

Review 101:Location. Easy access to Arlanda airport and to the central station.

Review 102:Not much.

Review 103:The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location was brilliant, right in the middle of a great part of town.

Review 104:Nice staffs, sufficient size room, private bathroom, elevator facilitated, less than 10 minutes walk from central station

Review 105:A little bit cold room and no one cleaned the room on the third day.

Review 106:Great location, great breakfast and nice staff.

Review 107:The staff were friendly, the location is central, and the room was quiet.

Review 108:Worn place, noisy walls.

Review 109:Good service, super-central.

Review 110:Quiet in the hotel although in a busy street. Excellent location in city centre.

Review 111:Great location, comforty bed, good breakfast, big space in the room.

Review 112:Excellent location and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Good buffet breakfast.

Review 113:Location in a city center, near subway and Main Railway Station. Good wifi, decent breakfast.

Review 114:The heating in the room was very low so it was really cold. The breakfast was poor. I am sure there are better places for this money

Review 115:Great location, spacious comfortable room with good breakfast and free WIFI.

Review 116:Noisy street. Funky elevator. Slightly weird night clerk

Review 117:Big room. Nice bath.

Review 118:Leaving!

Review 119:Can't fault a thing

Review 120:Noisy and rooms were hot..

Review 121:bit noisy in the evening, though not surprising given the location.

Review 122:huge room, very central

Review 123:Facing street and rather noisy at night.

Review 124:Good location for exploring city. Sizeable room which catered for 3 adults.

Review 125:Sometimes the receptionist could not speak in English

Review 126:Its very cozy. The restaurant is good. Free water dispensers in the corridors .

Review 127:Location, great breakfast, proximity to venues, and wonderful assistance from staff(needed phone adapter). courtyard rooms overlook garden.

Review 128:very clean. nice location near the station and shopping. pretty decent breakfast
