Reviews for Simona House
Review 1:The coin operated coffee machine on the foyer.
Review 2:The size and quality of my room. the suite is possibly the best value/square ,metre in the whole of Lithuania 85c / m2/ this is incredible value
Review 3:It was a really cold day and the room had no heating and was freezing inside.
Review 4:Staff were friendly. Easy to find, close to the supermarket. Had use of a kitchen and had parking for our motorcycle.
Review 5:The shower head holder was broken so I had to hold the shower head byhand. The other rooms on my floor were rented out to Russians and itseemed like they were staying long-term. They made noise in thekitchen directly adjacent to my room from 23.00 to 05.00 and nobodyfrom the guesthouse told them to quiet down. The lady at the receptionspoke not a single word of English and was unable to help me to getthe wifi to work. The curtains did not cover the entire window. Therewere two (blinded) windos from my room to the kitchen, which made theroom even less sound proof. Room got pretty cold at night, and heatingwasn't on.
Review 6:At 15/eur night the cheapest option in Siauliai during my stay andyou get what you pay for. A clean room with a chair, desk, closet andbed and fast and reliable wifi.
Review 7:Nothing negative
Review 8:Close to bus station, only around 5 mins walk. Room was okay, clean & spacious. Shared bathroom & toilets were alright as well. Good wifi signal in the room. Highly recommend this place !
Review 9:The wifi had a strong signal all over the house, though it is separated into 3 network connections. The one serving my room wouldn't authenticate to my phone, so I ended up using wifi in the kitchen a lot. Not very convenient for trying to Skype with my boyfriend back home, but it worked. FYI if you are traveling soon - the indoor pool (a soaking pool, not a swimming pool) and sauna are not yet built; they are under construction, which looks like it won't finish for a few more months.
Review 10:The location was great! A short, pleasant walk from the bus station / mall to a lovely home in a residential neighborhood. My room, which could sleep 3, was comfortable, clean, and VERY spacious. The owner/manager didn't speak English, but was very sweet and accommodating. We had a whole conversation using gestures and Google Translate. The ad says that bikes are available for rent. When I asked to borrow one, she said no charge. I don't know if that's the policy, or because we had been so friendly.
Review 11:Kitchen was noisy in the morning but that wasn the hostel's fault - maybe a notice to keep the noise down before 8am would help.
Review 12:Good size single room with desk and big Windows. Close to the bus station. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 13:No plug in the room basin, a common problem in Eastern Europe. Why cannot plugs be secured to the basin as in the rest of Europe?
Review 14:Pleasant standard accommodation at a reasonable price and convenient for Hill of Crosses. Well-equipped kitchen for guest use. Would benefit from some modernisation.
Review 15:The room was super stinky.. Something between cigarettes and sweat. Facilities not really clean and nobody speaks nothing but Russian and Lithuanian
Review 16:Really good position, 5 mins by walk to the bus station and a big shopping mall
Review 17:They only speak Lithiania. But speak with hand and feet is also possible
Review 18:I had no car..It was only 100 metres from the busstation! I was thre only one night . They are kind en helpfull in a friendly quiet house
Review 19:Nothing
Review 20:Nice staff (they had no problem checking us in although we were very early, always asking it everything was ok ...), nice location (peaceful street not far from bus station), clean, comtortable rooms and beda, cheap
Review 21:Staff not very friendly or available - maybe due to language issues (fair enough - I don't speak Lithuanian). Bathroom was clean-ish but a bit 'old' and 'tired'
Review 22:It was cheap
Review 23:Page said staff speak Englush,; they don't. Turned up at 1.30pm & they were visibly annoyed as check in is THREE. Try to avoid the rooms next to the kitchen, the noise spill means no sleep.
Review 24:Acceptable
Review 25:I wasn't given a triple room although it was already confirmed in my booking. Unfortunately I was given a small tiny room with single bed. The staff can't understand English. The atmosphere is not very good.
Review 26:location
Review 27:It's just 5-minute walk away from the bus terminal making it a convenient location for travelers planning to visit the Hill of Crosses with public transportation.
Review 28:According to their business card they have single rooms, but I could only book twin rooms online, even I'm a solo traveller.
Review 29:Very close to the bus station and relatively close to the train station.
Review 30:Wifi connection was bad in my room, and none of the staff/owners I met spoke more than just the most basic single words in english.
Review 31:It is close (but not inside) the downtown area, and close to the bus station.
Review 32:the walls are thin and for the 2 nights i stayed there, a big group upstairs were loud and noisy into early hours in the morning. the hostel owner haven't thought about other guests' comfort enough to set a curfew. i didn't rest well at all.
Review 33:the staff and the location.
Review 34:This hotel is cash only. we arrived late to find an unmanned front desk. And when we finally got the owner he didn't want to let us stay because we had no cash on us. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CASH
Review 35:free WiFi
Review 36:The room had a powerful smell to it. It was like dust and damp, not sure how to describe it. That made my stay less pleasant
Review 37:Loved the location, the wifi, the facilities.
Review 38:Toilet flush does not work. Shower contains hot water for one minute.
Review 39:Location is rather good. Shopping mall is 5 min. away (on foot), Downtown - 12 min. away.
Review 40:The staff didn´t speak english and there was no luggage storage room. We had to leave our luggage at the lobby, unguarded. The breakfast was not specially good, and the walls were rather thin. Finally, the bed linen was too small for the bed, so part of the mattress was uncovered.
Review 41:It was close to the bus station and there was a nice fully equipped kitchen. The room was comfortable and big.
Review 42:eveything was v good value for money :
Review 43:if you come out of the hotel and turn right, then first left there is a big hotel that does a good value breakfast
Review 44:The hotel is situated in family house, but the family running hotel has no business spirit. We had problem to understand them, because nobody speaks English. The room could be cleaner, in the bathroom was no clean towel for foods, on the floor was just small Ikea carped, seemed to be used for weeks. In shower were funghi. I definitelly not recomend, if I compare to family hotels in Germany, for the same price you get much less.
Review 45:Location close to bus terminal, not far from city center.
Review 46:Good location, very close to the bus terminal. Quiet neighborhood. Very clean and enough amounts of toilets and bathrooms! Our room was huge and comfortable. If you visited the Hill of Crosses, I would recommend there.
Review 47:Good mattresses.
Review 48:Owner didn't speak anything.
Review 49:It was clean.
Review 50:Shower cabin was awesom !!!!
Review 51:Lack of mirrors in the rooms - it is difficult for woman
Review 52:Staff is very responsive
Review 53:in a quiet neighborhood while only 10 mins walk to the bus station. owner is very nice
Review 54:Good facility
Review 55:Hosts very kind. Hearty breakfasts.
Review 56:Good value for money, good location, friendly staff although they don't speak very good English,
Review 57:Only there one night- no time to observe more
Review 58:Convenient to bus station. Clean
Review 59:Nothing.
Review 60:Staffs were nice. Room was bright and clean. Shared toilet and bathroom were clean. Great location.
Review 61:Drunken customers running up and down the stairs. School party Children running up and do n the stairs till 01.00hrs.
Review 62:Initial impression were good
Review 63:Cold shower
Review 64:Internet
Review 65:Kartonines durys i kambari, viskas labai girdisi.
Review 66:everythink is terrible ... dont come to this hotel ...
Review 67:It was no towels. In sted of the it was floor mats. Poor servis will never be back !!!!! Owner or servis people were drunk!!! Terrible smell!!!!
Review 68:mess in the kitchen rusty water mouldy shower
Review 69:wifi clean room
Review 70:Walls are very thin. Room and hallway smelled of petrol in the morning.
Review 71:Funky decor. Good location
Review 72:shared bathroom has no window or ventilation and was not so clean
Review 73:just a few minutes walk in the city, my room was nice and clean
Review 74:The shower room has no air flowing, there's some smell when go inside.
Review 75:The staff is so kindly, helpful and hospitality, made us feel like home.
Review 76:Lack of language skills. Russian was the only language we couls communicate on with owner, no English, nor German.
Review 77:Helpful owner.
Review 78:- can maybe be a bit noisy in summer when it is busier and all the rooms are taken
Review 79:- location is average still close enough to centre and bus station - owner doesnt speak english but his daughter translates and they were very nice in changing dates of our reservation and taking care of laundry for small price - good choice for overnight stay
Review 80:The shared bathrooms didn't look so great but as we were "upgraded" to a room with with a shared bathroom I can't really complain!
Review 81:When booking, the room description stated a shared bathroom however we were given a large room with private bathroom which made it very good value.
Review 82:The shower room
Review 83:Close to centre of town everything within walking distance, its also on a quite road Sometimes hard to find staff which appears that to be family members.
Review 84:Don't have attached bathroom and their is no water to shower. I can't shower until I check out. Bad for summer months.
Review 85:Walking distance to bus station, shopping mall, museums. You can base yourself here if you plan to Hill of Crosses. You can arrange when to depart according to bus schedule. Even can connect you to Vilnius , Kaunas and Riga.
Review 86:Naftaline balls in WC, unpleasant smell in bathroom, no mirror in the room, noise from cuisine + dirty plates after other guests.
Review 87:TV, good price, not far from center, good view from the window
Review 88:Pretty poor sound insulation - when hotel gets crowded its a bit noisy if you want to do some serious work
Review 89:Verry fast and stable wifi, nice and helpful staff, enough place to set up pretty large workstation, really good location - everything is ~5mins on foot from there.
Review 90:Bed was trashy. Yes, it looks nice and big in fotos and life, but the mattress was old. We felt its springs badly.
Review 91:Room was quite big. (called luxus). Near to the town centre. Good price.
Review 92:There was no hot water in the shower room when i tried to use it at midnight. WiFi signal was weak and not stable.
Review 93:Quite close to the city. The whole apartment is nicely decorated.
Review 94:The toilet near my room ran out of water.
Review 95:Good for travelling with dogs: room was spacious, window could be opened, and possibility to exercise the dogs very close. Also the possibility to use the kitchen.
Review 96:Staying at this city was unplanned, but since I missed bus to Riga, very quickly found this guest house on booking.com for very budget-friendly price. All facilities were good and staff friendly, also not far away from main bus station.
Review 97:There was a little problem with the shower in my room - there was much water on the floor after taking a shower every time.
Review 98:It was pretty good. Good place but bad neighbors. Maybe that was my "luck". Two steps frm the center of the town. A parking place.
Review 99:Family run hostel, mix of long-term and passing travelers. Fine for passing through, and there doesn't seem to be much else to see other than the Hill of Crosses...
Review 100:There was no staff around. The toilet and bathroom(!) stinked urine. At the website, they're advertising a sauna, but, for some reason, guests can't use it.
Review 101:Price and location. Room was nice and clean.
Review 102:Simona advertises a sauna and indoor swimming pool. Upon us asking where they are, they told us they didn't have any (!). On the last day, just before departure, we discovered the sauna and indoor swimming pool (!), cleverly tucked away inside the guesthouse. In my book that's called lying and wrong advertisement, now isn't it?
Review 103:Great room with private toilet and shower, spacious and with wireless internet on the room. Very comfortable bed.
Review 104:The rooms are nice but there are just a few showers and some of themclog up frequently. So, if you're travelling with a large goup (asit was our case) it becomes a serious problem. It's difficult tofind the owner and he doesn't speak English at all.
Review 105:The house is nice and the rooms too. The beds are very comfortable. It's a very cheap place not far from the town centre.
Review 106:I was at the far end of the top floor, and could not get the Internet, unless I used the common area.
Review 107:For those visiting the Hill of Crosses the location is perfect. A 5 minute walk to he bus station, where you arrive, and from where you catch the bus to the Hill of Crosss. There is a shopping mall at the bus station. The facilities were good, but I was the only guest
Review 108:Nothing really -this was a basic lodging - our room contained two beds, a wardrobe, TV, desk and chair nothing more. But this was fairly reflected in the very cheap price.
Review 109:This is a large rambling house in a quiet residential street with very many rooms. It's really a glorified hostel. We had a twin room on the top floor - bathroom was separate there was a kitchen available with a twin hob and a microwave and fridge.. It was a 10 minute walk into town.
Review 110:Very friendly family. Bathrooms/toilets on every floor. Good location-Very close to Bus and train station (shopping center at Bus station with Restaurants)
Review 111:They tried to put us in a twin when we had requested a double. The staff could have been more welcoming.
Review 112:It was a bargain. Close to the bus station. Our room had satellite tv which was good.
Review 113:Hosts did not speak English and I did not manage to ask for log-in for internet, which I would have liked. Hosts did not show where was swimming pool, which I never found either.
Review 114:Very good value for money and 5 minutes walk from city centre.
Review 115:Salia centras
Review 116:Really nice familiar guest-house... :)
Review 117:Bathroom out of room. No swimming pool as it said when we book.Noisy rooms
Review 118:Location
Review 119:Room is not clean, especially the beddings. And the whole room smells bad.
Review 120:The owner is kind, even though not good with English.
Review 121:Quiet place. Lovely room.
Review 122:The cleaness, the disgusting odors ( humidity and wc ones); and the noise.
Review 123:the price, the space in the rooms, wifi free and plasma tv
Review 124:Toilets are too close to the kitchen, shower location is not good
Review 125:Cleanliness
Review 126:email reply is slow.
Review 127:Location is good, near main shopping centre, train station and central bus station, all of us are within 10 minutes walk.
Review 128:some mould in the shower
Review 129:large room with sofa and table. Very close to bus station. although hotel in dimly lit area it felt very safe
Review 130:moldy shower
Review 131:nice room friendly staff close tp tpwn
Review 132:We had to put the sheet on the bed ourselves, the doonas were ready. Minimal service, but OK for a one night stay.
Review 133:OK breakfast.
