Reviews for Hotel Nikko Fukuoka
Review 1:Furnishings in the room and bathroom look old. Not enough English language channels on TV.
Review 2:Location, good-sized room, efficiency and helpfulness of the staff. Good breakfast fare.
Review 3:the staff including the manager do not know what to do when an issue arises! our very long wait caused us to wait for an hour and more
Review 4:the location is excelllent and very close to canal city, the hakata station and several other sites. a redeeming soul was Kidman liew who was so helpful and accomodating
Review 5:Service and location were both excellent. Requested twin beds be pushed together in advance and the room was ready upon check-in. I however suspect the carpet was a bit dusty as we sneezed a lot inside the room.
Review 6:The price is really high, maybe because it's Xmas and it's a 5 stars hotel. I will probably book a hotel near to canal city in future because I like the shopping there.
Review 7:I had booked a triple room, therefore it has 3 beds and is very spacious. It is about 10 mins walk to Canal City Shopping Center and 3 mins walk to Hakata station. Both places are great for shopping and food. Bath salt provided is very nice for soaking in the big tub. Bell boy is very helpful and smiley.
Review 8:Very expensive to eat in any of the places within the hotel, plus guests have to pay a lot to use the sports club facilities unless you are staying in the more expensive rooms.
Review 9:English speaking staff were wonderful and helpful
Review 10:Forgot to provide additional towels and pj for our 4-yr old. Mixed up our room with other family members who were traveling with us.
Review 11:Great location. Staff are helpful.
Review 12:The room carpet is not as cleas as it suppose to be. I need to wear slipper shoes all the time.
Review 13:Great location and very polite service. The room is bigger than others.
Review 14:We travelled through the smaller towns in Kyushu before coming to Fukuoka, and the staff at the breakfast area are more cheery elsewhere. Maybe it's always the case with bigger cities - the stresses and bigger crowds getting to them ?
Review 15:The location is great. The carpark is just underneath, and the hotel is linked by underground walkway all the way to Hakata Station and the shopping malls there. Great for rainy days and also when you're using the subway connection to the airport.
Review 16:nothing
Review 17:convenient location, underground footpath links the hotel entrance, subway and other train stations, spacious room with user friendly room acilities
Review 18:Smell - For some strange reason, the long corridor leading to my room was filled with a musky odor that seem to have gotten worse on my 2nd day (when it rained)
Review 19:Location - The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Hakata JR station and connected via a underground tunnel (which proved very useful when it rained cats and dogs on my 2nd day)
Review 20:Everything is very well attended. Wifi is perfect with non-interrupted strong signals. Location is good and is directly linked with the subway tunnel. Breakfast is very good with plenty of selections both Japanese and European.
Review 21:The guest relationship staff was extreme helpful. After I called them for help to contact the airline company where we left our iPad in the aircraft, the staff took only 5 minutes and called us that our iPad was found and ready for our collection in the airport. Thank you!! The bellboy, Kidman, can speak fluent English and he was an excellent guide for sharing where to go and eat!!!???
Review 22:Almost none except that the hotel does follow a strict check in time of 2pm as we found out when we arrived at the hotel. However they did try to accommodate and we managed to get a room at around 1pm.
Review 23:Hotel is conveniently located opposite the Hakata station with a linked underpass that leads to the station. The staffs are very helpful and go out of the way to assist guests' request and needs. Many of them have a good command of English. Rooms are clean and comfortable with the amenities well kept.
Review 24:They are strict in check-in and check-out time. We requested for one hour extension for check out , they gave us only 30 minutes.
Review 25:Their concierge service was exceptional. They Arranged and booked our private tour for us.
Review 26:The location was good few minutes walk to the Hakata station. The hotel provided us with a connecting room for our family. The hotel rooms were clean and spacious.
Review 27:we went to Fukuoka for 3 day, 2 days to explore the city and 1 day to relax at the expensive hotel ( was $300/night). but for using any of the facilities ( gym, sauna, swimming pool, parking,..) u have to pay extra and the biggest disappointment was that our daughter almost 3 year old Washington n't even allowed to use swimming pool.
Review 28:the location was good!
Review 29:We loved the location, comfortable bed and the spaciousness of our room. We booked a Luxury Double. We enjoyed the breakfast. We opted for Western Style but didn't eat western style as there were plenty of other options. We also enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the Japanese Restaurant.
Review 30:Didn't have Breakfast though Yen 2200 p.p. is steep.
Review 31:The location is Excellent. Walk out the front of Hakata Station and the street to the right is your road to the Hotel. Cross the road from the Station on the Left hand side moving away from Hakata Station & you encounter Starbucks first and 100 metres further is the NIKKO.
Review 32:As I am a Cantonese speaker, the bellboy Mr. Liu can speak Cantonese makes us feel warm once arriving the hotel. The room is comfortable and its location is suitable for family travel.
Review 33:A very standard hotel, nothing surprised me.
Review 34:It is very conveniently located with a dedicated link at B1 level to the subway leading to the Hakata Station
Review 35:We were looking forward to the pool but it was only available for age 20+, would have been good to know that in advance and not mention to teenage boys.
Review 36:The room was perfect, all amenities were catering for 3 people. The beds were divine and we loved the pj's!
Review 37:The building is a bit old and definitely need renovation. But generally, everything is clean and neat.
Review 38:Very convenient location, 7-10mins walk to the JR station.
Review 39:The price is really high.
Review 40:It is very near JR Hakata station and the bus terminal which both takes less than 5 minutes walk. The staff are nice and helpful. The room is clean and tidy and comfortable to stay in.
Review 41:Bathroom is too small, especially the showering space.
Review 42:Location is great. Very near to the Hakata Station. Staff is good. They were wearing local baseball team uniform during my stay, which is cute.
Review 43:The bar is rather overdark
Review 44:Excellent location next to Hakata train station and to the metro, as well as walking distance to Gion and Canal City. Very comfortable rooms, large by Japanese standards.
Review 45:Breakfast is not included and is expensive than normal restaurant. No chance to taste.
Review 46:near the subway, actrually the hotel is the exit P5 of Hakata station. there are starbucks and 7-11 beside the hotel. The room is very clean and almost has everything you need.GREAT!
Review 47:SInce this is a business hotel, avoid the lifts during peak times during breakfast and near check-out time
Review 48:Friendly staff that can speak English. Breakfast buffet selection was satisfactory and there was a choice for Japanese breakfast set. Free WiFi that is very strong. Convenient location near JR Hakata station and shopping mall Amu Plaza that has many restaurant choices. Amenities in the room were generous. Pajamas are given to each guest for sleeping (it's not free) - what a nice surprise. Taxi ride frm hotel to airport took 10 minutes for about JPY 1,400
Review 49:There is a pool and a gym in the hotel and not only are they not complimentary to guests but the prices are ridiculous! Also the room type we reserved was changed when we arrived from a twin to a double. Not the end of the world but awkward considering my travelling companion
Review 50:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, airy and extremely comfortable. The location couldn't be beat. Also the hotel had a luxurious feel at a price that didn't break the bank.
Review 51:The bedroom quite small. Expensive for what you get. Not a really luxury hotel in international standards.
Review 52:Great but expensive restaurants in the hotel. Fast free internet. Very friendly staff.
Review 53:Excellent location and service! A special thanks to Himeko for making our dinner reservations and providing information re: fruit picking. Staff even moved some stuff I accidentally left behind when changing rooms !
Review 54:Except the triple room with three different size and height beds seems kind of weird.
Review 55:The location is good. Except the triple room with three different size and height beds seems kind of weird. The hotel provides keeping our luggage for 2 days after we check-out, which is very sweet.
Review 56:Older hotel, the room interior is dated.
Review 57:The location, very near the Fukuoka train station is very convenient. Hotel lobby is great, and the connection to the underground walkway/mall makes it a zip to the train station regardless of the weather outside.
Review 58:it's ndear but not so near (about 7 to 10 minutes walk from exti of train/subway station) to HAKATA station so it's tiring when after a long day out, you have to walk all the way back to hotel again
Review 59:it's very comfortable, the amenities provided are of good quality, the room is spacious, staff are professional and helpful
Review 60:The free wifi was a joke - you were knocked off every 24 hours, often without knowing it, and had to reestablish the link. This resulted in emails being sent multiple times as send attempts when disconnected were cached somewhere, mthen released up restablishing your link. Service at the western buffet was spotty - it was sometimes impossible to get a cup, let alone coffee in it. Serving Staff needs to be trained to be more attentive to missing and/or empty cups; guests shouldn't need to flag someone down to get a beverage at breakfast. If you are not planning on using Hakata Station for day trips, plan to become familiar with the relatively simple subway system, since the hotel is a short distance from some of the major sights and shopping areas.
Review 61:If your main intent is using Hakata Station for day trips to other parts of Kyushu, the site is unbeatable: three minutes to the station. The variety of food at the "Western" buffet was good, as was the quality. Lobby staff was very helpful and accomdating.
Review 62:The room is not soundproof, because of the room wall. The toilet is outdated, especailty the WC is noisy when flashing. Need upgrading.
Review 63:Stay 4 nights in Nikko. Staff is friendly and helpful. Direct access to Hakata station from hotel basement, very convenient. Air-con poweful, with sizeable twin bed room. Overall a nice hotel to stay.
Review 64:No early check in despite traveling with a small child
Review 65:-Staff was very helpful in assisting with room requests prior to the stay - Clean bathroom and spacious room
Review 66:Not many places to eat outside hotel. However there are many choices across the other side of train station.
Review 67:Amenities for ladies. Cleanliness Walking distance to train station
Review 68:ThIs is our second time to stay at Hotel Nikko Fukuoka and we have stayed in various types of rooms at the hotel. We opted to stay at their luxury suite for the second period of our stay because the double room that we prefer was fully booked. The carpet was stained and the WIFI connection was not good. There were no electrical outlets near the bedside table for our gadgets and mobile phones.
Review 69:Excellent location, near the JR Hakata station and bus terminal. The staff speaks good English, the concierge is very helpful with our inquiries and restaurant reservations. The Japanese breakfast is very good. We store some of our luggages at the hotel when we leave for week long trips around Kyushu. The hotel stores all the heavy items that we shopped for, which we send by courier to the hotel, until we come back for the second period of our stay. There are several shops and restaurants nearby at AMU Plaza.
Review 70:Wifi is quite slow.
Review 71:Clean reasonably sized room. I used to stay in Fukuoka and I know the area quite well. The hotel is about 5 minute walk from Hakata Station, which is the main station of Fukuoka for transfer to the JR Line, Subway or Bullet train to various part of Japan. There is also a bus terminal next to the station, which also connects you to different parts of Kyushu and Japan). In addition it is a few stops to Tenjin (for connection to the Nitshitetsu train) and the airport. One can take the subway directly to the airport and transfer to the airport shuttle bus. Alternatively, one can just hop into a taxi and it won't cost you anything more that 1500 Yen. The main shopping areas and a wide variety of restaurants are located around Tenjin and Hakata. I will always recommend friends and family to stay in Hakata (near the station) whenever they visit Fukuoka.
Review 72:Service - very helpful and cheerful staff, really going the extra mile to help. Great concierge service - gave us excellent help with booking a restaurant for dinner Location - right by the train station Large and comfortable room.
Review 73:We liked everything, and I would like to extra mention that the staff is excellent! The concierge suggested and helped us book into a fantastic restaurant on very short notice.
Review 74:-Poor english of the staff in general; -impossible to order room service in english if needed clearificatiosn --made me move room, and I made reservation for an additional night, with an argument that I booked different room, but new room was exactly the same as the previous!
Review 75:Perfectly positioned next to the station for exploring the town then moving on to your next stop. A welcome western comfortable bed if you are craving one after weeks of futons.
Review 76:No bad experiences. The rather good breakfast buffet is a bit on the pricey side however.
Review 77:To begin with, Nikko Fukuoka is a friendlier establishment than the Osaka branch and offered all the same amenities in an ideal location. Only ten minutes away from great shopping and nightlife and closer still to the station, it's definitely a sound option.
Review 78:room has no view
Review 79:During our 3 day-stay in Fukuoka, we have to leave Fukuoka for Yufuin on the second day, returning on the third. The hotel offers free luggage storage so that we dont have to carry them around. Very good wifi
Review 80:Our whole family felt itchy when staying in the living room of the Luxuery Suite. We suspected there were flea in the sofa or carpet. There were some steps going to carpark. Hence, we needed to move our baggages up and down the steps. There was no elevator for B3. Hotel did not know we had 3 people and so the slippers & toiletries were only for 2 people.
Review 81:Very convenient, near shopping centre. Staff services were good. Luxury Suite was very spacious. Parking spaces were sufficient.
Review 82:Things are well organized that you do not even have to ask. If it happens you need something, staff are genuinely courteous, available and would go beyond all the expectations.
Review 83:still bit pricey, and rate does not include breakfast, though there are plenty of other choices for breakfast to choose from.
Review 84:hotel location is very convenient to access to most of the area. free wifi is a a plus
Review 85:You know with a Nikko Hotel you will experience quality. The hotel nikko fukuoka was no exception. In fact, you could say the whole experience was exceptional. Nicely furnished, extremely helpful and friendly staff.
Review 86:Breakfast is only okay
Review 87:Location is excellent, room is very clean and spacious compare with other Japanese hotel, and the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful!
Review 88:- The bed was way too hard for my back (but this is of course a very subjective comment)
Review 89:- Location: 2 minutes walk from Hakata station, which is 5 minutes metro ride from the domestic terminal - Nice breakfast buffet
Review 90:Really nothing I can complain. Only remark is TV/Cable network inside room basically all in Japanese (they do have CNN in English) but it doesn't really matter much to us.
Review 91:Very clean even in Japanese standard. Impressive attention to details with many amenity items subtly made for "him" and "her". The shower head is amazingly fine and smooth (the best I have experienced). Very helpful staffs always with a smile. One of them even speak Cantonese! 5-10 minute walk (either above or underground) to JR station and bus terminal which you can go anywhere.
Review 92:Hotel location was convenient. There is a subway directly outside the hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They could speak good English and took the extra mile to solve all enquiries and issues. Staff were all very patient and polite. Room was clean and quiet. Highly recommended.
Review 93:There is no easy way to cross the Street where we had the business to do. We would wish there is an easy way to get up to the hotel floor level from the underground subway exit P-5.
Review 94:Location and they respect your booking.com
Review 95:Right in the heart of Hakata but the rooms were nice and quiet. Comfortable beds with all the necessary amenities. Directly linked underground to the train station which made it very convenient.
Review 96:The only thing is the accommodation fee is a bit high, I can find many hotels nearby which are cheaper.
Review 97:Location is good, near Hakata Station. Staff are nice and helpful. The room is clean and comfortable. When I checked in on 1 January, the hotel gave me a new year gift.
Review 98:Not at all. Every thing was wonderful.
Review 99:It was worth to stay compare to its price. Japanese average room size are very small but this hotel's room size was quite big and it is very close to Hakata station.
Review 100:View from the room is podium garden, little boring.
Review 101:Underground walkway directly connected to Subway, JR station, and basement shopping street, very convenient. Quite silent, bathing room is large enough, sanitary supplies are very good.
Review 102:no convenience store nearby
Review 103:close to JR, the bed is so comfortable, and air con works very well, not like other small one only with hot air, access to underground passage, no need to worry raining, bus stop very close, easy to go to tenjin
Review 104:big difference in price per night, i stayed 2 nights, one night was 180 dollars and the other was 80 dollars. when i was here they had a internet blackout. you have to pay for pool, but then again its not crowded so thats ok.
Review 105:free upgrade. pool. close to central station. staff.
Review 106:We got a smoking room and, although there is an air purifier in the room, I was bothered in the night by the pillows' smelling of smoke.
Review 107:Excellent service, the room was spacious (we went for the "luxurious" room), the bed comfortable, the towels of good quality, the toileteries very nice (including solid soap, which somehow hotels nowadays seldom provide), newspaper brought to you in the morning; in sum, things you'd expect from a 5* hotel.
Review 108:Practically none!
Review 109:We had a luxurious twin room, which is very spacious and comfortable by Japanese standard. Got a very good offer at Booking.com and hence very good value for money. 3-min walk from Hakata Station.
Review 110:The hotel is deemed a "five star" but it is not a five star hotel. In Japan this might be a five star, but not anywhere else. The fact that guests need to pay for the fitness center and the hours of the fitness are not convenient. It's a bit too "snobby" and the facilities are dated. The hotel needs a renovation and to adjust their gym facilities in order to be considered a five star.
Review 111:The hotel is in a good location and very close to Hakata Station.
Review 112:I stayed there for one night. It took 3 minutes to get to Hakata Station by foot. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. A breakfast buffet was included and it was quite satisfactory. And the doorman who helped us could speak fluent English. Overall, it was a very satisfactory experience.
Review 113:They shouldn't charge for gym entry especially for guests staying there for more than two nights.
Review 114:The service is warm especially that of the concierge and the staff didn't accept a tip. The room service is efficient and the rooms are clean and fresh. Everything in the room works. I also enjoy the breakfast at Serena cafe. The buffet dinner there was a little disappointing as we were given the 7.30pm slot and by 8pm they're already not refilling the food. The gym is available for guests' use at a cost. This should be reviewed especially for those who stays for two or more nights. The location was indeed great being near Hakata Station and a bus stop is just outside the hotel.
Review 115:Very close to Hakata station. Convenience stores, shopping mall and restaurants are very close. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are spacious and lots of amendities are provided.
Review 116:although our early arrival, the stuff welcomed and almost immediately accepted us to check-in. My daughter who is 4 years old was especially happy and enjoyed to stay in this hotel. I'm always appreciate their excellent and warm hospitality whenever we are there.
Review 117:The man who checked me in made mistakes. First, he could not see that I have breakfast included even I questioned him. Second, the room key he gave me did not work.
Review 118:location. Room has good space.
Review 119:That we were only staying two nights! We didn't want to leave. can't wait for our next stay.
Review 120:One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. We had a superior room which lived up to its description. It was huge and very comfortable. Bathroom was lovely and loads of products were supplied. The location is ideal too.
Review 121:Decor a bit dated in the rooms.
Review 122:My wife said the Japanese breakfast was absolutely delicious - Thewestern one isnt bad either.Staff very helpful when I complained about a wifi connection , even though it turned out I hadnt switched it in on in my ipad!! Great location too.
Review 123:Arriving at evening by car with our 3 years old after 2 hours drive. Was exhausted but got a surprise upgrade to a suite. Very spacious room which allow my son to run around. Location is also excellent which is just across the road from JR City which offers shopping and many dinning choices. Will definitely stay here again.
Review 124:Very good location just near Hakata station and bus stop. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Have fee bottle water each room. With full set of body wash, shampoo even they provide makeup remover, face wash and bath salt etc..... We are highly recommend and will come back for next trip.
Review 125:The hotel is located a short 3 minute walk from the Hakata Train Station. There is also an underground passageway to the train station from the hotel. The Fukuoka Circle bus route runs directly in front of Hotel Nikko and the Canal City complex is a short 10 minute walk away. The elevators have a safety feature that requires the use of your room key to access the floor levels. Overall, a very convenient location for access to the trains and buses.
Review 126:This hotel is located very near Hakata station, approx. 5 mins walk away. As with most hotels in Japan, the service is impeccable. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. One thing that impressed me was how comprehensive the toilet amenities are. They even provide makeup remover, cleaner, facial moisturiser and lotion. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Fukuoka.
Review 127:It is for business traveller mainly, not for young teenagers . overpriced
Review 128:The service provided is professional, especially for the staff when checking in. Everything is well planned during checking in.
