Reviews for HOTEL UNIZO Fukuoka Tenjin

Review 1:Staff would not accommodate my request for an upper floor. When I arrived to my assigned room #301 it was smaller and not as nice as the two other rooms (302 303) for my friends. I love hotel unizo, but this time they disappointed me by assigning me a room that was below the hotel standard at street level that was noisy.

Review 2:I've always loved hotel unizo soccer I stayed there when it was hotel qurega.

Review 3:Room was a bit cramped but standard for inner-city hotel.

Review 4:Does all the basics well - clean room, plumbing worked well, comfy and quiet bed. Staff very nice and knowledgable. Fantastic location at a good price.

Review 5:The room is dark even with all the lights on.

Review 6:Comfortable modern hotel in a convenient location. It seems that it's designed towards business trip guests. We booked the Hollywood Twins room which is large and tastefully decorated.

Review 7:Don't have any in house restaurant No window

Review 8:Nice and helpful staff Modern and comfortable room design Close to the shopping area Strong wifi signal

Review 9:Not very spacious, though I've also seen even less spacious places, so see this as a hint more than as a complaint.

Review 10:Clean rooms and modern standard located directly at Tenjin (city center).

Review 11:The twin room was too small for 2 people. Who is the architect?

Review 12:I was glad to find a humidifier in the room. Some good stores and restaurants in the vicinity.

Review 13:The hotel information said there was a restaurant and breakfast with the room. It was just a cafe. So if you want some choice at breakfast, you have to go to a buffet at another nearby hotel.

Review 14:The room was small but very well designed, and perfect for one person. It would be cozy for two.

Review 15:If I had to pick one thing it would be that the washing machine/dryer doesn't have english instructions.

Review 16:This is a lovely, clean, comfortable hotel which really feels like a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. Room was quite big by japanese standards, lots of bathroom supplies included. Very happy.

Review 17:Location is perfect for people like myself who enjoys seeing the city a bit while walking. Easy access to subway via the underground shopping arcade - walking while doing some shopping, perfect. Facilities are fairly new and very clean. I am surprised I found such a good place to stay in Fukuoka. =) would stay again if back in the city.

Review 18:Lack of a Fitness Center. A bit pricey.

Review 19:Very nice rooms. 5 - 10 minute walk from Tenjin Subway Station, < 5 minutes from Bus Station. Location is excellent - close to shopping district.

Review 20:The room we stayed has problem access to internet. Although this was brought to the front desk nothing was done. It was rectified only after a strong complaint

Review 21:The mattress is too soft, I couldn't sleep well and my back was feeling a bit uncomfortable when I wake up the next day. Also, when I requested a late check-out for 30 minutes, I was a bit shock that I was asked to pay for that 30 minutes. I travelled a lot and it's the first time to be asked to pay for a late-check out for 30 minutes. Eventually, the reception staff gave me additional 15 minutes, it sounds so inflexible! Also, staff couldn't speak much English so that it's really hard to ask for their help, especially when I wanted to ask for the direction of the places I wanted to go.

Review 22:Location is really good, closes to shops, metro, bus stop, etc. Room is also spacious as compared to those in Tokyo.

Review 23:We arrived by car and we need to load our suitcases at the back of the hotel and the staff will bring our bags inside but we need to walk in front to enter though the hotel entrance. Doesn't make sense.

Review 24:The location is just great - right in the center of shopping district with a lot of restaurants and bars surrounded. Our room (hollywood studio) is really nice and spacious. there is only one of this room located in each floor. The staff were helpful.

Review 25:The location is excellent. Just u could probably miss the small entrance. The staff is nice and helpful. Price of value. I'd recommend this hotel to those want to stay in city centre with everything around. But the room is small, a typical hotel in Japan.

Review 26:just one staff was not kind but most staffs were pretty nice!

Review 27:location's perfect! the very center of Tenjin good place to shop or have drink late not dangerous at night lots of stores nearby neat and cozy room big bed and strong wifi

Review 28:We were driving and there is no drop off area in front of the hotel.

Review 29:Location is excellent if u r not driving becoz the hotel doesn't have a parking space. The rooms spacious.

Review 30:Room is a bit old, can do with some renovation.

Review 31:Location is very good for shopping, eating and travelling to other places by taking nishitetsu bus. The staff are very polite and speak good english.

Review 32:Only a single washing machine. No English instructions. Takes 2.5 hrs. Totally impractical. Lighting was moody but not of much practical use when you need to see what you're doing.

Review 33:Beautiful rooms. Wooden floors and relaxing style. Fantastic easy location. Very stylish throughout hotel.

Review 34:Wifi is inaccessible in the room.the room furniture and floor finish is tear off, appearance looks bad. There is improvement for front desk courtesy.

Review 35:Location is strategy, near to unique restaurant and local shop. The cleaning team is helpful.

Review 36:Maid knocked on the door 10 minutes before check out - but I was so relaxed that it wouldn't spoil my excellent experience in the hotel.

Review 37:Everything: cleanliness, freshness, interior of the room, location, staff. I saved my 10 rating for this hotel as it fully met my expectations.

Review 38:Nothing.

Review 39:The hotel is recently opened and it’s classy, comfortable, and modern. In addition, the services there were very nice and the hotel staff are friendly and attentive.

Review 40:the front desk team were oddly disinterested in helping (even in japanese) and seemed to be using some sort of rote approach to any request that became very rapidly frustrating / annoying.

Review 41:the entrance to this hotel is hidden beside a tully's coffee shop, it's discrete and lovely - which unless you need a paparazzi photo call every time you leave the building (or a taxi) is perfectly ok. the rooms are really well designed with a modern japanese feel, well manufactured joinery and a high level of material appointments.

Review 42:They only give you one face towel and bath towel. There should be at least 2 sets of towels in the room.

Review 43:Friendly staff and great location. You also don't have to turn in your key at the front desk every time you leave the hotel and there is no curfew!

Review 44:Front desk female staff has no smile to welcome guests; upon inquiry for information hotel staff gives a flat answer and unfriendly respond.

Review 45:Location spot is the only advantage of this hotel and its price, more of a business hotel for short stay - not suitable for long stay

Review 46:All of the other hotels we stayed at ;P

Review 47:We stayed here for a few nights in the middle of a long-trip, and it was by far our favourite hotel of the trip. We took a suite on the top floor of the hotel which had a large double bed, a terrace, a properly sized bathroom and a place to sit and eat and do some work. The staff were really friendly, and the hotel had the feel of a high-end place without being expensive. They're about to rebrand as a Unizo hotel, and having stayed in one of the same chain in Shibuya - I have a really positive impression about the chain, it's attention to detail, and it's tasteful but not generic design style. Location-wise, you couldn't be better placed for accessing the public transport network, or hanging out in Tenjin/Daimyo.

Review 48:The breakfast options at Tully's cafe just doesn't make sense at all.

Review 49:The Hollywood room is big compared to other Hotels in Japan. Location allows you easily to walk to a lot of spots. The lady at the reception was most helpful in getting us a cab to the airport and even helped us with our bags!

Review 50:Room a bit dark, you had to turn on and off each light(no global switch)

Review 51:Location was really good, 5min walk to tenjin, many good locations near the hotel.

Review 52:difftren with what ive seen in introducing picture on booking.com I was expected to use nespresso on our room but i cant(was on picture)

Review 53:on good location as what we expected.. Really nice and clean conditions BGM systems etc I recommend this hotel anyway

Review 54:I got lost when walking there from the station, but I think that was more of my GPS' fault and not the location.

Review 55:The location is the best, real close walk to the train or bus station at Tenjin, all the shops and restaurants are right around you. A Tully's Coffee downstairs. Straight across from a small temple and park. The underground shopping in Tenjin is huge.

Review 56:I would forego the breakfast arrangement at Tully's and suggest finding a place with a proper Japanese breakfast.

Review 57:Great location near shops and restaurants. Very clean and modern.

Review 58:On fringe of bustling commercial district...can hear the traffic at night...

Review 59:Great Location, easy access to three major Japanese department stores all with 5-10mins walking distance. Apple Store, Barney's NY and great number of noodle shops and variety of restaurants and coffee shops! Fukuoka JR station 5mins away on foot.

Review 60:There was no breakfast at the hotel, but it is served for an extra charge at the Tully's Coffee shop right out front of the hotel. The hotel lobby and elevator smell like smoke. Ensure to book a non smoking room if you are not a smoker.

Review 61:Nice room, great service, and excellent location (perfect for our trip), but don't expect anything more for the hotel. The queen room (dark wood room interior) for two people was very large by Japanese standards. Beds are extremely comfortable. There is no parking at the hotel, but there is a coin parking lot that is reasonable located at the back of the hotel.

Review 62:the lobby was quite dark and overwhelmed by smoking smell. but you can endure those cause u will in the lobby short time.

Review 63:i had a good experience in fukuoka, especially in this hotel. this hotel has good facility, and very clean. bathroom, livingroom, bed were very clean. and staff was speaking english very well and also were kind. location was really good. so you can reach to everywhere from this hotel. subway, shopping place, restaurant anywhere..

Review 64:It was seriously centrally located in the city. Conveniently next to Tully's, Japan's very comprehensive answer to Starbucks, the hotel is within walking distances to the gardens, shopping, street food and restaurants. Staff was helpful and the room was spacious.

Review 65:There's no free breakfast, unlike some of the other hotels I've stayed in Kyushu. The lobby seems to stink of tobacco all the time, probably from the smoking room of Tully's Coffee, situated next to the lobby. Walking into the lobby can be a stinking experience especially for non-smokers like me.The wifi can be unstable at times. Would be good to have more washing machines and dryers. Currently, there's only one washing machine serving the entire hotel and no dryer.

Review 66:Its central location in the heart of the Tenjin shopping district is an absolute plus. Room is spacious for a Japanese hotel, and the bed is very comfortable.

Review 67:Great location. Close to many coffee shops, restaurants, train stations and shopping place. Nice and friendly staffs. All facilities are great. Worth for money.

Review 68:I arrived at 10am and was told that I could check in at 1pm, which I think it's considered pretty good because most hotels only allow check in after 3pm. So I left my baggage at the reception. When I returned at 1pm, they have already moved my baggage to my room. That was very nice of them. Location was really good. Near to subway (airport line), surrounded by lots of shopping malls, nice restaurants. Size of hotel room was just nice for a single traveller like me. It was spacious enough for me to lay my luggage flat on the floor. I would stay there again.

Review 69:Breakfast is in a crowded public cafe next to the hotel. For that cost I expected something better.

Review 70:Convenient location, clean and everything was correct.

Review 71:I missed at least one foreign TV channel (BBC or CNN ...)

Review 72:Perfect location, close to Mitsukoshi and Tenjin Station,on a main road but my room 1401 was ultra quiet! everything is tidy and new, rooms are small but very well designed, every single inch of the room is well used, and even the bathroom has a small bathtub ! Price -Quality: you can´t expect more!Don´t expect room service or spa or restaurant.

Review 73:poor English staff and rigid check out time. I paid a fine for 45 late check-out at 11:45. My first ever time penalty for 20 years

Review 74:Like the location, the design,

Review 75:Staff are great, Rooms are modern and wide, beautifully furnished. Plus, the laundry is complimentary. Location is also exceptional, close to Tenjin station and in a lively borough with lots of restaurants, cafès and shops

Review 76:Good location in tenjin's shopping area and many surrounding ramen noodles shops. Taxi to airport was reasonable at ¥2k. 5-10 mins walk to tenjin station which has direct train to domestic airport. Catch free shuttle between domestic to international terminal (~10mins).

Review 77:The room is comfortably dark, and in good design. However, only for an artistic reason (I couldn't understand the reason), the bed was separated by a step from the floor. The step was dangerous when still only half awake.

Review 78:The price was not expensive, but the quality of the room was much better than what I expected from the price. I was really satisfied with the room.

Review 79:The parking facilities isn't too convenient to travellers with cars.

Review 80:It locates in the middle of the town. It is easily accessible to shopping area.

Review 81:The room was a bit on a small side. I was still able to open my suitcase, but it was a 2-persons bedroom and if there was another person, it would provide insufficient space. Breakfast was not included and you can get a breakfast set at the coffeehouse downstairs for 1200JPY. However, I found out that a cup of latte and a nice bis toast was only half the price :)

Review 82:The location of the hotel cannot be more perfect. In the lively central of Tenjin and I could walk to pretty much everywhere. The hotel itself was very nice. It has a chique and modern design and all amenities needed were provided. The staff were very friendly. The check in time was actually at 3 p.m., but since I just got off an 11 hrs flight, they were able to get my room ready by 1 p.m. Thanks a lot for that!

Review 83:I don't like the way they asked me to pay another extra 1000 yuen for not checking out on time(1hr) Late. Ever since I've stayed in Osaka(The New Otani - Five Stars Hotel) and they charge me for checking out late.

Review 84:the hotel was clean, smart and brilliantly priced. the staff were helpful (although didn't speak much english) it's also really close to the train station which is great.. easily one of the best hotels i've ever stayed in and will happily go there again

Review 85:Everything is good !

Review 86:Nothing!!

Review 87:This is the greatest hotel I have ever visited. There are so many famous places to visit.

Review 88:lobby has smoking smell

Review 89:Location is good.

Review 90:Great location right in shopping district - very lively with lots of bar and restaurant options. Small rooms but very nicely designed

Review 91:Location, clean, all the comforts plus some.

Review 92:The entrance is too dark and the clor is not so welcomed and some smells of cigarettes were unpresent.

Review 93:The room was cozy.

Review 94:Room too small, very few staff speak English.

Review 95:Best location!

Review 96:Facility (soap ,tooth brush etc). In bathroom. Is good. Hotel location.

Review 97:Location

Review 98:Cozy environment and good location.

Review 99:There is a lingering smell in the toilet...not that bad but can be improved. ;-)

Review 100:Helpful counter service! Shower room is spacious! Good view!

Review 101:limited breakfast choices provided by the hotel

Review 102:Ideal location in the heart of the shopping belt

Review 103:Very smoky in lobby and elevators.

Review 104:The location was good. Easy access to shops and station.

Review 105:room layout

Review 106:so good at all

Review 107:No help for carrying luggage from Taxi to check-in counter.

Review 108:Good location for shopping.

Review 109:A little bit far away from station

Review 110:A little dark.

Review 111:Modern, clean and great location.
