Reviews for Castello di Spedaletto
Review 1:Every part of our stay was perfect...the room, the property, the breakfast (big variety including homemade cakes and other yummy treats) and the view. Perfect base for exploring we went to Pienza, Montepulciano, Bagno Vignoni, San Quirico and other towns. Highly recommended!
Review 2:The location of the room is to close to the main road, so it is noisy . Poor breakfast
Review 3:The area is very nice, especially pienza. The staff is very nice Good wifi
Review 4:Host Laura was wonderful! Not only was the apartment spacious and clean, the breakfast with the freshly baked pastries were delicious. Our family had a great time during our 6 days in Val d'Orcia.
Review 5:At the heart of Via Francigena you will stay in a castle, conveniently located close to many interesting places in Val D'Orcia. A perfect base to explore Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Abbazia Sant'Antimo, Montichiello, Castiglione D'Orcia and even Cortona & Arezzo. Laura is a great host so you will feel at home. It was my birthday so my wife informed her and she prepared a nice italian cake during breakfast! It really exceeded my expectations. Great
Review 6:This accommodation was wonderful. The castle was very beautiful to look at. Lots of history. Our accommodation was very comfortable and our room was so pretty. The proprietors were very, very friendly and all the staff were very accommodating. The best accommodation in Tuscany. Perfectly manicured gardens in a wonderful setting.
Review 7:Great location, very kind and friendly staff. Perfect place to see the most beautiful piece of the world. Local breakfast made us full for entire day :)
Review 8:Note that the swimming pool is not on the property and requires a quick drive or a ten minute walk along the highway to reach it.
Review 9:Laura upgraded us to an apartment for free upon our arrival. She was very hospitable and, along with her mother, provided a splendid breakfast spread! The castle is very conveniently located, romantic, comfortable and affordable. We would stay here again.
Review 10:We had a kitchen but it was not really furnished for cooking dinners (which wasn't in our plans anyhow).
Review 11:The property was magnificent. The ownership was friendly. The pool was amazing.
Review 12:couldn't use pool and biolake on the territory because they belong to another owner (there are several agriturismo houses there) but Laura offered us another pool about 500 metres away from the hotel
Review 13:Very big and beautiful territory, free water
Review 14:This place was wonderful, so quiet. Laura went out of her way to welcome us and give us plenty of ideas as to what to see and where to dine. Loved it:)
Review 15:nothing to complain from besides a loose shower head.
Review 16:Outside of town, quiet farm. The place looked lovely. Clean and beautiful room. The hostess was great and really helpful, and waited for us even though we arrived much later than expected
Review 17:Please improve the WiFi.
Review 18:Amazing staff, great hospitality. Lovely place and rooms. Nicely quiet and confortable. Excellent location to visit many surrounding cities. You can visit a real mill and buy real organic products.
Review 19:you must come with a car, it's 10 mins drive from Pienza Town.
Review 20:Laura is super nice and helpful, she speaks English and quite caring about guests. The house is nice and room decoration is very fantasy. The neighborhood is just what you wish for in Tuscana. Wifi speed is good enough in countryside.
Review 21:This place is a good choice! we stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. Laura the girl who runs the show here is adorable and always ready to help. She is hands on with all the queries u may have. We were upgraded to an apartment instead of a room as we stayed there for 2 nights and that too for the same price. The breakfast is nice. You definitely need a car to move around. that is the need of any location u choose to live in, In Spedaletto. drove to montichiello and montipulcino...they r by far on the list of the "sweetest places on earth"
Review 22:The castle and grounds were absolutely gorgeous...nestled in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Laura and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large, clean and had a regal flair. Breakfast was delicious with a varied array of cakes, tortes, cheeses, salamis, fruit, cereals...even farm-fresh eggs. A magical place with lots of history.
Review 23:As a group of 4 adults, we enjoyed our stay here. Laura, our host, was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Review 24:Nothing worth mentioning
Review 25:It's a family run B&B and they all are amazing, very attentive, pleasant, helpful. We've met Laura, her mom and her brother. We ended up getting there late, after they were closed, but Laura came especially for us to let us in. She was very accommodating and made us feel very comfortable, like we were visiting old friends house. The grounds are beautiful. We traveled throughout Italy and their breakfast was one of the best, very plentiful where most dishes were home made and fresh. Our room was very specious and comfortable. We stayed for just one night but wished we could stay longer. I absolutely recommend this place. Thank you Laura and your mom for your hospitality!
Review 26:Difficult to find by Gps. Mark Spedalleto short to find. Wifi very weak. Service very correct, good advice but not very warm. Felt host prefers young people and Italian nationals. Many guests, host very busy and needs help in the morning. Breakfast Ok but not great. bread not fresh, choice of cheese very limited, lots of home made pastries, some mediocre. But still breakfast is Ok, and plentiful. Room has only a very small window at floor level, giving feeling of poor aeration.
Review 27:Very beautiful property, and confortable room, good for guests that like campain lodging. Very clean, plenty of space to hang out outside room. Very good location to visit rural Toscana.
Review 28:The hotel asks to notify the time of arrival. That is absolutely impossible since the hotel is located in middle of countryside, we have spent more than 2 hours in searching this place
Review 29:Silence, fresh air and charm of medieval castle
Review 30:- Very romantic place! - incredible garden - apartments created in different styles (amazing inside!) - apartments located in a small castle in a heart of Toskania (amazing views, beautiful area) - The best location for visiting Pienza, Dorcia, Montepulciano, Montecchiello! - very very nice personel - delicious food (home-made by the owners, great Toscanian cheese!) - surrended by nature (grapes, flovers, trees) - the best place for visiting Toskania!!
Review 31:Absolutely nothing.
Review 32:Authentic location, very cozy and charming with beautiful landscape and close proximity to the Orsia river. Home made breakfast is to die for.
Review 33:We would have preferred to have been able to have an evening meal on-site rather than travel (though Bagno di Vignoni and San Quirico give you a good choice of restaurants). My wife certainly did not like the glass floor on our landing! We had understood that there is a swimming pool, when in fact you have to go to a neighbouring agriturismo to use theirs
Review 34:The setting is fabulous. Historical buildings sensitively refurbished to a very high quality. Lovely grounds to sit and relax. We had an excellent breakfast of home-baked food, sitting in the sunshine. Its location near Pienza makes it even more attractive. We stayed after a visit to the gardens at La Foce (15 minutes drive), so this was a real win/win trip!
Review 35:none

Review 38:We arrived very late but the welcome reception was warm and very friendly. The host is superb, Laura is very nice and very helpful. Best host so far. The facility is very nice, cozy and clean. Breakfast was excellent. Warmly cook and served. All was great and wonderful. We love our stay so much.
Review 39:Nobody there to await for us very confusing check inno "agriturismo" feeling, pictures include other 2 facilities, but the " castello" does not include the catle, just a little corner. Misleading flies are all over the cakes and the food in the morning, but there are no nets! They forgot to make up our room between nights
Review 40:Room very nicely furnished but dark
Review 41:Perfect location in the heart of Val de Orcia. Very beautiful landscapes around. Lots of additional facilities for free like swimming pool at the nearest hotel and a charming garden for sun baths.
Review 42:For the benefit of future guests you do need to drive out for dinner unless you book an apartment and want to cook for yourself. Bagno Vignoni and Pienza are not too far away.
Review 43:We stayed at Castello di Spedaletto for 5 nights. We used it as a base to travel around the south of Tuscany by car. It was wonderful to be able to sit in a beautiful garden after a day of touring and enjoy the restful views of the Tuscan landscape. Laura was also very helpful.
Review 44:Air conditioner didn't work very well..maybe it just needs to be repaired.
Review 45:Laura was very nice and helpful. Beautiful grounds and location! Nice large room and bathroom.
