Reviews for Palais Oumensour

Review 1:The food was good, but we would have liked to have had an additional Moroccan salad course. Dining options are very limited in Taroudant.

Review 2:We booked a standard double room, but were given the option of upgrading to the rooftop suite which was just beautiful! The common areas at Palais Oumensour (of which there are many) are charming and well-decorated in a calming minimalist style. The pool area, which is where breakfast and dinner was served, is intimate and lushly landscaped with banana and orange trees.

Review 3:Dinner needed to be ordered by 12.00 ...5 min after arrival. There is a bar in the tv room unstocked so inclination is to locate a hotel for dinner and drinks. Palais Salaam in my case as Hotel Taroudant on shut down for a month. Cockerel in neighbouring property means sleep disturbed from 02.00 at 60 min intervals. Then muezzin called the believers to prayer at .04.57 and at 05.15 and 05.35.Get over it its what happens here every night and American couple in next suite only woke for the call to prayer!!!! Taroudant is a authentic Berber town not ruined by catering unduly for the tourist voyeurs. Breakfast was very basic a yogurt would nt break the bank.

Review 4:Suite excellent and roof communal area. Courtyard garden/ swimming pool absolutely superb. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 5:Warm welcome, friendly staff, spacious hotel, good breakfast, good value dinner but only one choice, pleasant room, comfortable bed, hot shower, toilet strangely in a tiny room inside the bathroom. The pool was large with sunbeds around it, set in a large, nicely planted garden

Review 6:Wifi a bit tempermental but that is not what you go to Morocco for. Bit hard to find staff to help at times but probably because we were travelling during Ramadan. All in all a lovely hotel

Review 7:Beautiful oasis in the middle of an otherwise busy medina. Pool and gardens were beautiful and the food fabulous.

Review 8:Thought the staff coukd be more personable. Also difficult to find peopled during the day but this may be due to us being in ramadan.

Review 9:Great location for centre, lovely gardens with lovely pool. Very spacious rooms with luxurious feel. Lovely place to stay.

Review 10:All good

Review 11:Best Riad we have stayed in after many years travelling in Morocco. Suberb surroundings . nothing to much trouble all done in a relaxed way . Excellent breakfasts and evening traditional dinner in an ideal setting .

Review 12:Wifi is a bit hit and miss, especially in the rooms..

Review 13:We loved the design of the riad, we almost always had the pool to ourselves and our room was comfortable, large and had great views. The staff made the house special and kept everything pristine and clean. Guests are asked to book ahead for meals but they kindly prepared a lunch for us with no notice. All meals were delicious and freshly prepared. The best thing were the smiles from all the staff!

Review 14:We had a suite on the top floor and although the room was gorgeous the shower was awful. It needs a new head and something to be done about the the pressure, especially when you are paying for a more expensive room. Wifi was only accessible on the ground floor, but the signal was very poor.

Review 15:Lovely peaceful location in the centre of the city. Lovely grounds and beautifully maintained.

Review 16:Wifi didn't work in the room, but did downstairs in the courtyard. It is centrally located in the medina, but hard to find. Our sat nav got us close but the wrong side of the souk, and eventually we gave up and followed the usual boy-on-a-bike. The entrance is deceptive - just a door in a side street. They take cash only - euros or dirhams.

Review 17:Beautiful building once inside. Lovely roof terrace. Large bedroom and ensuite bathroom. In the morning there was no water, but this was a problem in the town and it came on again pretty quickly - however unasked they took ten euros off the bill for the inconvenience. Dinner was good and breakfast OK. There is a menu to order from if you are there more than one night. Nice staff.

Review 18:ONLY downside was that it was not easy to find. (We must get GPS!)

Review 19:Upon our arrival, somewhere to park our car being very close by, we were treated to lovely little pastries to accompany our welcoming mint tea which we enjoyed in the small garden, the centre of which was an attractive pool. There was the use of a television in a pretty little lounge/bar area, and our room (Jazmine) was delightful. Our very tasty meal couldn't be faulted and we spent a very enjoyable overnight stay here.

Review 20:Difficult to find in the medina - but SO worth the effort!

Review 21:This riad is a gem! We visited in January, so could not make good use of the lovely garden or roof terraces - but everything in it was a pleasure for the eye. It was exceptionally good value for money and the all-female staff were very friendly and competent.

Review 22:Touradent is a good city for shopping and relaxing in your beautiful hotel, but it is poorly provided with monuments and a bit dull city.

Review 23:This place is totally runned by women, never saw a man in the staff. Also the Belgian owner is female and a good decorator. You can feel the female touch and service mindedness in every contact. We liked the spa and beautiful garden. The room and the many common rooms look tasteful. The location is fine. Stay for dinner here! The route to Asni is amazing and a must-see!

Review 24:Sorprendente. Un oasis dentro de la ciudad.

Review 25:It felt like closer in

Review 26:It was quiet

Review 27:Staff not exactly as friendly as possible. A little bit "cold".

Review 28:Elegant rooms, good breakfast.

Review 29:everything

Review 30:Not enough room in the w.c. No big deal.

Review 31:The excellent room. Good breakfast.

Review 32:A very comfortable refuge from the heat of Taroudant .

Review 33:Exceptional service from the staff, a beautiful riad.

Review 34:Only Wifi could have been better, otherwise perfect location. THE way to experience Taroudant in a relaxing way

Review 35:Warm welcome, helpful staff

Review 36:Poor wifi communal rrooms rather soulless

Review 37:Attractive grounds

Review 38:Pool and hot tub a bit chilly but it was February

Review 39:Staff, food, location, ambience. Lovely. Highly recommend it.

Review 40:no internet on the room

Review 41:This is an outstanding riad with superb facilities and the staff are excellent. The evening meals were fantastic and great for vegetarians.

Review 42:Nothing

Review 43:Location, set-up, ambience, facilities, garden, hot-tub, pool, rooms ... everything

Review 44:Arriving in the dark driving into Taroudant after driving over the Tizi n Test looking for the hotel almost was a disaster. Luckily an old guy on a bicycle volunteered to show us where it was and so we tailed him. It was in a little street in the heart of the city - behind a grim and dingy entrance. They never replaced the towels during our 3 day stay. We ate dinner twice - 3 course meals for16 Euros. The first night the grilled lamb cutlets were very tough but the chicken couscous the next was terrific, even though we had to remove the bits beef from it (we had told the hotel we don't eat beef).

Review 45:There is a gorgeous courtyard with palm trees, a large cold pool and plenty of loungers. We were served sweetmeats and juice when we arrived. The all female staff were very friendly. Our room was fantastic - large and comfortable . Plenty of cupboards and excellent shower gel. Breakfast was plentiful with good Moroccan breads. We ate dinner twice - 3 course meals for16 Euros. A great place to stay and they have parking. But be prepared to get lost and do a lot of walking
