Reviews for Hotel nr. 43 Styles Antwerpen City Center
Review 1:Noise late at night when people are in bars and restaurants adjacent to the hotel.
Review 2:Location at the heart of the city center. Great view of the city center.
Review 3:The first day that we checked in the girl on the reception was really nice and was really helpful. However, the next day we encountered a problem as when we went to have our breakfast only two out of four people were on the list (we booked the Hotel for four people with breakfast included). When we were checking out the receptionist (not the same as in the 1st day) charged us 24 Euros extra (12/person) because of the two people that were not on the breakfast list. When we asked why she was charging us extra if on the booking we specified that we were four and picked the 'Breakfast Included' package, she replied in a bad way that we never said that we were going to be four (we booked one room with a double bed for my parents and the other with two single beds for me and my sister so apart from having written the names of all the guests it was obvious that we were four). We didn't want to discuss any longer so we just left after we paid but ending our trip with this bad experience.
Review 4:The rooms were very clean and as shown in pictures. Rooms were spacious and my father really loved the 24/7 free coffee. The location was ok and it takes just about 10 minutes to get to the city center.
Review 5:There r only minor things like no shower curtain, no pen in the room.
Review 6:Location is great. 1 minute from central station. Room is large. There are 3 public parking place near by. It's about 20 euro for 24 hours but take the one under the station (Q-park) then the hotel gives u 15% discounts when check out (which I did not know!).
Review 7:You can't beat the price however, the beds are quite beaten down and uncomfortable. We woke up with sore necks most mornings! Maybe ask for another pillow. The linen was clean but homed a couple of irremovable stains.
Review 8:Location is excellent for exploring Antwerp and a trip to Amsterdam from Antwerp central, rooms are spacious, free tea and coffee was a nice touch. Really helpful staff!
Review 9:It is a bit loudy. As It is in the city centre.
Review 10:The location is just in the centre of Antwerp, they have a hospitality corner and they serve free of charge coffee and snacks.
Review 11:As we have stayed before we knew that it was a lovely hotel to stay in. Great location for bars ( Bar Central), shopping and train station. Staff very friendly and welcoming and asked if we had been before, as they would give us directions.
Review 12:They should change the rooms' pillows: they are unconfortable!
Review 13:Late reservation, but very helpful staff. The room was very good and cheap for the price
Review 14:One of the beds that were in our room was not comfortable
Review 15:Excellent location, buffet breakfast, clean and quiet room, water & coffee distributor in the lobby available at any time, nice and helpful staff
Review 16:Dirty room floor. First room's (electrical) heating wasn't working. Bent toilet seat. Damaged batteries in partially broken TV remote.
Review 17:Close to the main train station.
Review 18:The bed was a bit too soft. For one night it's fine but not for long stay.
Review 19:The location of the hotel, near Antwerp Central station. The bathroom - the room in general - and the free coffee in the morning.
Review 20:The fact that my room was on the Main Street and could hear everything that went on outside!!! Asked to be moved but they did not want to. Hotel is old and feel tacky and did not even have a wardrobe to hang my clothes
Review 21:The location
Review 22:Public Parking is rather expensive at 18-22 Euro per day. Breakfast is to expensive for what you get. It could be cleaner. The floor in the room was damaged, the TV was old. Bath room was okaish.
Review 23:It is very close to the central station. Many restaurants and stores nearby.
Review 24:The room had not been maintained. Although it was clean the lamp shades were broken. Damp patches. Holes in floor etc. It was noisy but that is expected due to location. Trams passing by. Breakfast was basic.
Review 25:Location
Review 26:Everything good!
Review 27:Proximity to trains, buses, restaurants etc. Very comfortable beds and good continental breakfast. Also free coffee in reception and free wi-fi in room. Great value.
Review 28:Noise from the street, could not sleep after 5 a.m. I could not take shower because only hot water was coming, too hot for me.
Review 29:quick check in and check out
Review 30:Elevators are terrible, old, dirty, slow. no service elevator, HK uses the same elevator, there is only two, of which one was not working for over 4 days. Beds are not comfortable, it says beds are soft but those beds were something different HK enters room after one knock, blocks the only elevator around noon.
Review 31:Location is good, front office is friendly
Review 32:The parking was 20 euros a night. We had to look for half an hour for a free parking space. The place is next to a night club, where the music was pumping all night. There was no AC so we had to keep the window open. Couldn't sleep. Avoid.
Review 33:Staff
Review 34:There was a foul smell in the corridor and in the bathroom. No airco and because of the location it was impossible to sleep with open window on the saturday night (better on sunday), then the noise in the street went on till very late (or till early in the morning rather). Closing the window did scarcely help! There should have been a better quality of panes. Of the 2 lifts only 1 was in working order. During the weekend, when the hotel was full, this generated long queues. Breakfast: meat and cheese were of poor qualitiy.
Review 35:Room spacious for an Ibis. Nici hot coffee
Review 36:Did not feel so safe as we had the room on ground floor, and due to the hotel situated in the station area.
Review 37:Position near to the city centre, even though the station area is not so nice, especially at night.
Review 38:Limited storage space for clothes, I stayed a week. Room very warm even with the window opend
Review 39:Hotel located very close to Antwerpen Centraal station and to bus and tram stops. Airport bus stops outside. Very good buffet breakfast. Free coffee / tea machine near the reception. Despite the heat I slept well. A wide choice of restuarants and bars in the area
Review 40:We visited Antwerp on a hot summer weekend and the room was unbearably hot throughout our stay, there was no air con and although there was a desk fan in the room it was plugged in to a socket so when we left the room and the electricity shut off, the fan stopped so it was impossible to get the room cool.
Review 41:Great location, room was ready when we arrived early, had everything we needed for a weekend in the city.
Review 42:Quite a noisy location, however you are in a city. The location is not perfect for the historic part of Antwerp and if we had been staying there longer we would have prefered a hotel nearer the historic centre. Having said that this hotel suited our requirements perfectly on this occasion and we would stay here again.
Review 43:A very good location for the train station and bus station if you are travelling on. The room was very clean and comfortable for the one night that we stayed. Tea and coffee was free and available in the reception area. So many places to eat/drink close by.
Review 44:Next to the hotel is a cafe that's open till very early in the morning. No airconditioning in the rooms which makes the roomtemperature very high.
Review 45:The location of the hotel is right next to the city center.
Review 46:The hotel has become old and in need of renovation!! The carperts stink at places and walls despite bright colours look tired!! The lift creaks!!
Review 47:Location was really superb!! The staff were very friendly!! The all day coffee table is a real plus point!!!
Review 48:The room was stuffy with minimal air ventilation. The window could only be opened slightly. It was hot and stuffy in the room during summer temperature especially with the sun directly shining towards the room. There is no electric kettle in the room too.
Review 49:Only location
Review 50:The lack of air conditioning could be an issue. There is an area where free coffee and snacks are available which wasn't always kept in a clean condition.
Review 51:Great location in a very interesting city. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
Review 52:It's too noisy at night, no aircon which makes the room too hot & can not use the soap since it was too thick!
Review 53:Location was perfect, near to the zoo. My daughter loved it. Breakfast was good. Clean & wifi was good too
Review 54:The room was conditioned terribly. No air-conditioning and windows are not clearly opened. If you want to have a view from the windows - ask about it. Otherwise - you risk to have just no view at all - a wall and a bit of sky.
Review 55:The price. The location, if you're travelling via trains - Central Station is 30 second walk.
Review 56:The place is a run down building, with a bad smell on the corridors, dirty walls (room 104), poor condition of the bed sheets, dirty mattress, damaged floor and bath room door because of shower water. The room had no AC although there is AC on the corridors... The bed is small (max 160CM wide) and the mattress is very soft. When one person moves the other jumps on the other side of the bed! We stayed Saturday night and there were people heavy partying on the street up to 3AM. It was THE worst hotel I stayed in for very long time. Not worth 100E a night nor its 3 stars.
Review 57:Location, close to the train station.
Review 58:The location is excellent, right next to central station and the Zoo! Friendly, helpful staff, big comfortable rooms, the bed was very good. Substantial breakfast, plenty of tables and attentive staff. A great stay, could not falt a thing.
Review 59:The toiletries... Suggest you bring you own. Towels were dated.
Review 60:Free coffee, tea, hot Cocoa and pastries during your stay aside from Breakfast! Clean and a stone's throw from the central station. Supermarket is next door and restaurants all around you. For a short visit, highly recommended.
Review 61:Everything! Wonderful location very close to the station. Near is situated a great pub with very reasonable prices and tasty food and 300 sorts of beer. Big room perfectly clean. Tasty and abundant breakfast. Very friendly staff.
Review 62:Good city centre view, spoiled only by the adjacent Radisson Blu - is this the ugliest building in Europe?
Review 63:Convenient location, nice touches like the free hot drinks. Spacious, comfortable room.
Review 64:The image - thick plant plastered over old walls. I had breakfast at 7.30am. There was a group in the breakfast room and the service would not re-fill empty breakfast baskets and trays...
Review 67:TV never worked. Even after nice people came to "fix" it. Wifi never worked. Very noisy with trams running and people yelling outside most of night
Review 68:Friendly
Review 69:Bit of a walk (or ride) to the old town.
Review 70:Handiness to rail station and bikehire point. Looks on to attractive square. Lively eating areas nearby. Lots to admire in Antwerp for at least a day, probably two.
Review 71:The bed was too soft.
Review 72:It is very near to the railway station and bus station, it was perfect to travel furtherby train. We could leave our luggeges in the hotel and without luggages to visit MONS, cultural capital 2015 town. The breakfast was perfect, the service too.
Review 73:Would have preferred coffee and tea facilities in room.
Review 74:Ideal location for central station and zoo. Very close to the diamant district. Plenty of electrical points at desk in room. Free wifi is great!
Review 75:The bed was very uncomfortable, did not have a good night sleep. Bed appeared to slope from the foot end down to the head end. Ended up "sleeping" with the pillows at the foot end of the bed.
Review 76:Within easy reach and walking distance reach for the majority of locations we wished to visit
Review 77:The hotel advertises how you will sleep peacefully but there was a lot of noise from the local area and from other parts of the hotel. Glad I brought my earplugs.
Review 78:Location is good next to the station.
Review 79:I stayed here to attend a concert in Antwerp it was extremely close to the train station and the metro which made travelling to and from the concert/airport extremely easy, the staff were lovely and marked out the ways to get to and from the arena. Very close to main shopping street of Antwerp.
Review 80:Breakfast could have gone a bit longer. I had a late night so I missed on breakfast.
Review 81:The complimentary bottle of water was a surprise, usually hotels charge you huge amounts for the smallest beverages.
Review 82:Beds and pillows are to soft. Smell and noise from Italian restaurant from back side of the hotel - for that reason you can't open the window.
Review 83:Perfect location, clean room with new furniture, polite and friendly staff, good breakfast, free coffee and thee, perfectly functioning WiFi, gay friendly.
Review 84:Location. Its close to the railway station and metro. Usually stay there when going to concerts, in Antwerp. Good location and reasonable in price. Plenty of places nearby to eat. Breakfast plentiful and hotel always spotless.
Review 85:Bed soft, lumpy, and squeaky. Rowdy guests in hallway, no soundproofing. Room is a bit dated.
Review 86:Convenient location, friendly staff, free internet, complimentary breakfast
Review 87:The bed was not comfortable at all. It was really noisy, I had a room on the street side.
Review 88:Good location, friendly staff, room was nice. Breakfast buffet was pretty good and there's coffee/tea available all day.
Review 89:Location and the staff friendliness was what surprised us the most. The "extras" without paying extra of Ibis are always a plus. Really nice option to stay in Antwerp, especially if you don't want to spend too much money.
Review 90:hotel is clean but looks smudgy due to stains in the carpet in the hallways and halls and door posts in need of paintjobs/damage repair
Review 91:good value for money, good bed and good location & nearby parking facilities.
Review 92:It is a bit noisy (but that is to be expected if you want to be in the center). The shower quality was not the best.
Review 93:Value for money was nice. Hotel is well equipped and reasonably spaced for the price category. I will certainly come back to it if I need to be in Antwerp again.
Review 94:min 15 min on foot to the Grote Markt but on the other side its very nice 15 minutes of walking (main pedestrian trackt in Antwerp with plenty of shops and cafes)
Review 95:close to central station of Antwerp, nice staff, good breakfast
Review 96:No specific comment on this.
Review 97:The convenient location, next to a supermarket, close to the railway. All expected services fullfilled. Breakfast cheap & good!
Review 98:- walls are made out of cardboard, you can hear all the other guests - bed is very uncomfortable: hard and thun mattress and squeaking when you turn around
Review 99:- location is very convenient - low price - clean - therefore value for money - suits the purpose if you only want to sleep there and not actually enjoy your room
Review 100:Weak wifi signal, soft pillows
Review 101:Location, good size rooms, friendly and helpfull staff. Late check-out at 13.00h without extra costs. Breakfast was basic but good.
Review 102:Bathroom basin fittings. Plug system not working. Impossible to cup hands under taps fitted too close to basin wall. Terrible waste of water.
Review 103:size of room, flooring, storage, quietness.
Review 104:Was beyond impressed with the service from the staff, comforted at every moment. The room was value for money with comfortable beds, large bathroom. Overall my stay with Ibis was amazing.
Review 105:- Noisy at night outside until late. - Beds and rooms are starting to get older vs. previous years but still clean. - Breakfast room has loud television news every morning instead of nice music -
Review 106:- Great location. - Rooms and bathrooms are OK - Breakfast is good continental with reasonable choice (especially for price) - Value for money - Possibility to have cod beds for baby in the room. Some room are spacious for it with same price
Review 107:My room (604) was a bit smelly. suspect from smoking although indicated as a non smoking room. My colleagues room next door (605) was the same. It's right in the square and busy roads/trams outside. Not a problem for me but might be for anyone expecting a quiet night's sleep.
Review 108:Clean rooms, modern facilities. Great walk in shower. Good buffet style, all you can eat, breakfast.
Review 109:Rooms are basic but it is ok for a short stay.
Review 110:THe location is excellent very close to the Antwerp Central Station. THe rooms are basic and clean. Breakfast is good but there are no other restaurant facilities.Price is good for a city centre.
Review 111:Old and dirty furniture, shaking bed, bad mattress and pillows. Bad breakfast - poor selection and not fresh fruit salad. On top of that they didn't have hot water during the whole stay.
Review 112:This hotel was awful! We were placed in a room on the top floor next to the area that had electrical equipment running ALL the time. We got no quality sleep! The room was supposed to have a quality duvet and pillows. It was more like a temporary bed with flat pillows and a sheet.....
Review 113:My room was on the road side & it was noisy. So,as a result of that I could'nt sleep well.
Review 114:I like the staff hospitability & the room was ok.I also enjoyed their breakfast.
Review 115:Nice breakfast, though replacement of buffet itens was a bit slow on sunday at peak of guest use, but ok on other days (we stayed 4 nights).
Review 116:Fluent check-in/check-out, tea/coffee available in lounge, clean and spaceous room. Location excellent for guests using central train station.
Review 117:Nothing
Review 118:We liked the location so close to the railway station old tow nanda supermarket. The breakfast was good ad very healthy. The staff were most helpful and friendly
Review 119:bed mattress is not as soft and comfortable but it is okay. It is little loud outside of hotel in the evening as there are bars and it is front of central station.
Review 120:very convenient location from central station, as my luggage was quite heavy.
Review 121:No air con' and you have to have the window open if you are not to over heat, this lets in mosquitos and I spent a sleepless night; no water pressure in the basin and shower on the 8th Floor. Reported to front desk who said they would look into it, plus no cooked breakfast!!
Review 122:The location is excellent and the room was good and clean.
Review 123:No A/C means you have to sleep with windows open. There was singing and shouting in the square outside the hotel until 4am (also traffic noise but that didn't bother me); decor very old; breakfast a very basic affair.
Review 124:Friendly welcome, good location, drinks' station in lobby
Review 125:Very noisy location making it impossible to sleep Poor quality breakfast and breakfast room
Review 126:Beds very comfortable Bathroom lovely Staff very helpful
Review 127:It don't have air conditioner.
Review 128:This hotel, different to most Ibis other hotels, don't have air conditioner. The window only open a pair of centimeters, the room became like a sauna! And this hotel is not cheaper than another hotels close it! I do not recommend.
Review 129:Perfect location and very friendly personel. I didn't ask for something specific so I got a simple room. I would like a little bit harder mattress.
Review 130:No air conditioning in the room, I had mosquitoes biting me all night and for a small room the TV was even smaller. :).
Review 131:Hotel was fine, really good location. Staff was friendly.
Review 132:Location and incredible breakfast. Also the free coffee all day and the available microwave and refrigerator. Ibis really seemed like it was looking out for the traveler.
Review 133:A lot of Public Parking fairly nearby but is expensive for 24h - 18 euros! the 3 rooms on the ground floor are too close to the coffee facilities and the staff entrances and were VERY noisy even at 4am! Breakfast was average at best! Not worth the price imho
Review 134:Right in the centre for shopping and one minute walk to the nice Zoo and station. Rooms were large and clean.
Review 135:Very good price !
Review 136:Missing knobs in the bathroom, completely impractical tab
Review 137:Nice, colourful room, good beds, free coffee in the lobby, friendly staff
