Reviews for Agriturismo Poggio Tobruk
Review 1:The apartment was beautiful with great views of the countryside from the deck. Frederico and Marco were incredible hosts…the stay here was a main highlight in our 3 week tour of Tuscany, Umbria, Rome and Florence
Review 2:the address on the booking doesn't lead you to the hotel. I had to call the hotel only to find I it's 3 mins away from the GPS point by drive.
Review 3:It's in the middle of a farm surrounded by Tuscany scenery. It's nice to walk around and take some gorgeous pictures. The room is comfortable, quiet and the staff are helpful and nice
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:The property is located 1km from the main road on a hill and has fabulous views on the Val d'Orcia valley and towns in neighbourhood. It's quiet and nice place to relax. The apartment is nice and clean, spacious. Federico the host gave us a lot of tips for places to visit and restaurants to eat. The property also offers a bike rental. It's a great place to stay even for a longer period since there are a lot of things to see in area under Pienza.
Review 6:Peace and quiet place, comfortable apartments, magnificent view of the surrounding area, friendly and helpful staff, opportunity to travel to nearby cities offer the possibility of full and varied unforgettable holiday.
Review 7:None.
Review 8:The view is spectacular! Our apartment is very clean and tidy, it really exceeded our expectations. Our host, Frederico, is such a warm and friendly man. He waited for us when we were late in checking in (aft 7pm). He even gave us a dinner discount voucher for a wonderful restaurant in Bagno Vignoni, knowing that we were hungry and had not yet eaten. Breakfast is good, with homemade pies, eggs etc. Frederico even allowed us a late check out because we wanted to visit the nearby Bagni S. Filippo. You will not regret staying at this agristurismo.
Review 9:It was a little hard to find. But that was no major problem.
Review 10:We loved the location, the tranquility, and the splendid view. The host, Federico, was really friendly and most helpful.
Review 11:The location was very good because the house was just 17 minutes away from Pienza and a few minutes away from another attractions. The house had a very nice view. I really loved looking over the view on the chair in the garden. More than that, the owner was very friendly and helpful.
Review 12:Peaceful setting over a hill in the middle of the most incredible Val D'Orcia landscape. A great breakfast to start your day full of energy and quality local products. Our room (not an apartment) had a small terrace where you could chill and relax after a day of sightseeing.
Review 13:Marco is the first reason we loved that place. For some reason, we had to check in 2 hours after the scheduled check-in time. We called Marco at 6.30pm to tell him about this and he was so nice to drive all the way from home (@San Quirico) at 9pm to welcome us. Finding us not having had dinner, he offered to reserve a table for us at a nice restaurant in Bagno Vignoni and he even drove ahead of us to lead us there. It was a nice restaurant and it was a lovely night. The location is the second reason we loved it. It was 2/3 up on a little hill. We enjoyed picturesque scenery from the terrace of our room and anywhere outside of the house. We climbed up the hill top along the passage behind the house, and the view is gorgeous! It is within 20 minutes drive to Pienza, San Quirico, Monticchielo and Bagno Vignoni. Quite convenient. Last but not least, the experience living there is incredible. As we don't cook and stayed only for 2 nights, we ordered the guest room without kitchenette but with a terrace. The room was decorated in country stlye and very comfortable. The amenities are enough and the shower room was spacious. I still remember the sunlight shining through the keyhole of the bathroom door to our bed to wake us up as I intentionally left the large windows of the bathroom open. Besides, Marco cooked us delicious eggs and offered a wide range of tea choice. In all, the experince was wonderful. We loved Val d'Orcia and would love to come back. And we would stay with Marco again next time.
Review 14:It is remote, but that is the nature of agriturismos. The views were lovely and the owners, two brothers, are delightful, welcoming and very helpful. We didn't need it, but the suite was very well set up for self catering. The space was by far the nicest we experienced in our two weeks in Italy. It's a great place to stay and take a lot of day trips around the area.
Review 15:Fedrico and Marco were very welcoming and really helpful regarding the area. Poggio Tobruk is on a hill, up a "white" road from SP53 and commands the most beautiful views of Tuscany.....truly breathtaking. Our US relatives were staying at Castello di Spedaletto at the bottom of the hill, so we would go out for the day, eat out at lunchtime then all meet up for bread, cheese, fruit and wine in the evening out on Tobruk's patio. A truly wonderful place to stay A*****
Review 16:Marco and Ricardo were absolutely fantastic and their service was impeccable. The room was very clean and tidy. Easy to tell that they have a lot of pride in what they do. Perfect location and close to thermal baths and Pienza. We would definitely stay there again. 10/10
Review 17:We can not say enough about our stay. We were made to feel like home from arrival to departure. This was our second stay here and we will be back soon!
Review 18:Everything is nice for a stay in Tuscany countryside, except price. Location is convenient in the daytime travel. Quite difficult to find during night.
Review 19:nothing
Review 20:Everything is great there, nice persons, amazing place with awesome views! We had a great time in Tuscany! Marco is a fantastic guy can help with everything, food, tour... I hope to be back in Spring for a green Tuscany!
Review 21:We enjoyed a room with balcony, so enjoyed beautiful view over the valley to the hills beyond. Good accommodation and great host who provided a delicious breakfast, straight from the garden to the table. It was a good location from which to spoke out and visit the surrounding areas and it was a lovely experience.
Review 22:The room downstair is a little weak, but you still can find the signal in some place so it is OK.
Review 23:The view worth 5 starts.Federico is so kind. And the room is very very lovely. If you go there, you can spend some time to talk with him, it will be a nice memory.
Review 24:The agriturismo is on a hill amongst the beauty of Tuscany. It is so quiet and secluded. The location is a little hard to find due to the seclusion, but just follow the map on the website and it will take you right to it. Frederico is a wonderful host and very willing to accommodate his guests. The apartments are comfortable, clean and have a lot of space. They are equipped with anything you might need for a short stay. Very close to the Castle of Spedaletto and town of Pienza. Altogether FANTASTIC!!! Will definitely stay again.
Review 25:Kitchen equipment in the apartment is limited.
Review 26:Great location for wine tasting tours in central Tuscany, very helpful and nice owners, clean and nice apartments, great view, good breakfast!
Review 27:It may be tricky to find with the GPS if you do not enter the exact coordinates. I suggest routing to Spedaletto and there are signs from there! :)
Review 28:We stayed here July 2014. Marco and Federico are brothers and both were such wonderful hosts! They are so warm and friendly, and very eager to provide information about the V'al D'Orcia area - see, eat, do! There is a 360 view of the quinessential tuscan countryside from their property and you can even see it from Pienza! It's easy to get to the neighbouring towns and the colors of the landscape were just amazing. It's quiet and easy to relax with some wine on the balcony. Breakfast was great and they actually make THE best cappucinos! :) They are also olive oil makers and we purchased a large bottle home. We would love to stay here again when we return to Tuscany!
Review 29:Nothing!

Review 52:Poggio Tobruk is a perfect place for couples looking for a Tuscany farmhouse in the countryside. The rooms and bathroom are big, clean and well updated. The breakfast and coffee are wonderful and very adequate. Federico is very nice and has great restaurant recommendations in the nearby hill towns. Would definitely stay here again!
Review 53:Two rooms with one bathroom. Noisy door - so some problem in usebathroom during deep night.
Review 54:Gorgeous view, kind staff, Wonderful atmosphere, good fascilities...Good meals and wine..
Review 55:Really uncomfortable mattress. Poor breakfast for extra 5 euro (no eggs, tasteless cappuccino).
Review 56:Very nice location and memorable view from the balcony. Very clean and comfortable bathroom.
Review 57:Everything was great, but breakfast should be included in the price.
Review 58:This was a beautiful place in the countryside. We were worried we wouldhave difficulty finding it at night but our gps led us there easily.Marco (one of the owners) let us check in later after dinner at 10pmwhich was very accommodating. Even offered us some wine and drinks whenwe arrived.
Review 59:Nothing! Absolutely perfect!
Review 60:The outstanding surroundings, the FANTASTIC staff, the gorgeous rooms, the great terrace, the beautiful valley around the farm...
Review 61:The owners don't actually live there so there was no feeling of actually staying in a farm house, just appartments on the hills. Breakfast was typical intercontinental, was hoping for a more rustik approach but maybe it's just me.
Review 62:The floor was a bit dusty, looked like it hadn't been used for a while. Very quite location with a nice panoramic view of the near by hills in pure Tuscany style. Very spacious appartments and a complementary bottle of Orcia wine from a near by producer.
Review 63:Coordinates given by website was not accurate.
Review 64:Value for money, clean and very spacious rooms with a large patio to view the surrounding countryside and the stars at night.
Review 65:That we had to leave :(
Review 66:Everything! Breathtaking villa and working farm in the heart of Tuscany. We stayed in an immaculate, lovely 2 BR apartment, fully equipped including a spectacular complimentary bottle of Brunello from their vinyard. Wonderful country breakfast of assorted meats, cheeses, eggs and sweets, all produced from their farm and leisurely eaten as you gaze out at the most incredible rolling landscape under the tuscan sun. Brothers Federico and Marco were gracious, attentive and accommodating hosts and Federico shared stories of the workings of their beloved agriturismo. Mom is in the kitchen baking all the beautiful and delicious breakfast cakes and tortes.....brava mamma! Wonderful, memorable experience and we hope to return someday!
Review 67:wifi should be improved.
Review 68:We had a lovely stay, mainly the view from it, looking over an amazing valey, absolutely stunning. A friendly place, comfortable and worth while.
Review 69:Absolutely marvellous, we can't fault it and Frederico was especially kind and caring to us. I would recommend to everyone and certainly we will return.
Review 70:Wonderful rooms, excellent and friendly staff, very good breakfast- fresh fruits, strawberry, tasty baking, salami, etc...) Perfect location! (But not without a car)
Review 71:It is not a classical hotel, we felt like a farmhouse. Stay there for two days was a unique experience in our two weeks travel to Toscana. The hill where it is build give impressive views from the surrounding. The beautiful D'Orcia Valley and towns such as Pienza, San Quirico D'Orcia, Casteglione D'Orcia etc could be apreciated from our windows. We stronly recomend for anyone interested to know the rural side of Toscana and in particular the impressive d'Orsia Valey.
Review 72:It was a little cold at night in the apartment.
Review 73:Nice and very clean apartment. Friendly and helpful staff. Amazing views of the valley.
Review 74:Adress is incorrect hard to find
Review 75:Marco is very kind nice location
