Reviews for Atrium Resort Hotel

Review 1:One of staff at the bar female Saturday afternoon not very customer friendly

Review 2:To be together with my family and having rooms close together. The reception staff awesome when booking in and leaving

Review 3:Spa over used and water turgid smelt like old socks. Bed too soft not good for any one with back problems.

Review 4:Good location. Pool open till late. Room air conditioning powerful.

Review 5:WIFI IS A NIGHTMARE. EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONNECT AND THEN ONLY FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN YOU FOUND YOURSELF DISCONNECTED HOTEL SAID ONLY ONE LINE IN USE FOR HOTEL AND GUESTS. Airconditioning system very old needs updating.

Review 6:Staff exceptionally good.

Review 7:The pillows were as hard as rocks, the bed was hard as well. The air conditioner was too loud, hardly effective in providing cool air and it was located low down on the wall near the floor...cool air doesn't rise so we were hot all the time. The basin water was cold so not able to have a hot water shave and the toilette kept making a flushing noise every half hour or so. The tv didn't work and we had to get the manager in to fix it and the cleaners didn't come back to make up our room so we had to make our own beds and replenish towels etc our selves. Not happy and won't go back there. Oh and the elevator had broken and it was noisy, our room was close to the where the tennis courts are and the pool so we got all the creaming and road noise from these areas.

Review 8:The manager was pleasant

Review 9:Hotel was very dated. Parking area was always full. Found rooms & bathroom to be very old. Even the foyer needed cleaning at the entrance. As the surrounding area is very nice with the marina with shops, cafe's etc the hotel needs to refurbished to encourage travellers.

Review 10:Pool area was ok to keep an eye on our children in the pool

Review 11:It definitely needs an overhaul. It needs updating. We got woken up at 6.30am twice by someone emptying large bins downstairs. I'm sure there were lice in the bed. Felt like little bugs biting me. I felt uneasy about my car not in a secured car park.

Review 12:I liked that it is the cheapest hotel I could find. My son liked the pool. Friendly staff and food was very nice. Close to everything.

Review 13:The lounge was ripped the fridge was dented(like a punch dent) and the room was small. It's the smallest we have stayed in and we have been there a few times.

Review 14:The location and pool

Review 15:Cockroaches found by husband in the bathroom, linen from a lost era. Poor staffing numbers allocated to the Pool/Bar are on a busy afternoon.

Review 16:Location great, and the place had great potential. Cheap and convenient.

Review 17:all the facility are very old. room was way too noisy until 1am, called front desk right after we check in and told someone will come to check but no one came. it was too bad we had to cancel our second day of stay.

Review 18:Room was fairly clean, Price was about 50 bucks/night cheaper than other self-services accommodation in the area..

Review 19:The outside pool was not working n in poor cond so inside pool was very busy all the time

Review 20:Ample parking central location to mandurah a beuatifal beaches n marina restaurants close by n balcony rooms that I prefer is good too

Review 21:Room suited out needs, but can do with a renovation. Extra child bed was thin and uncomfortable.

Review 22:Great location with very friendly and helpful staff. Laundry was cheap to use. Loved the pool and spa. Great value for money.

Review 23:I called reception for a face washer / flannel. They said I could borrow one but I needed to collect it from reception I explained I was still in my pyjamas and they told it was ok to come like that. In the end a lovely housekeeper went on our behalf. I also missed the TV in the bedroom. Stayed there approx 30 years ago and not much has changed. The same decor same uncomfortable bed and our view overlooked the rear of a business with a pool almost drained of water but not rubbish or garden furniture.

Review 24:I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, the fact it was only a 6 - 7 minute walk along the foreshore to the shops. Room attendant on our floor was very helpful and friendly. When we explained that we required a face washer she immediately checked her trolley and then went to reception for us.

Review 25:We ate in the Atriums restaurant from the À LA CARTE dinner menu... We preferred the dinner we had from the silver sands tavern, they made much nicer meals.

Review 26:The location was good, the kids loved the indoor pool, and the buffet breakfast, Atrium was good value for money...

Review 27:Nothing, our stay was perfect.

Review 28:Staff were friendly and helpful. Even though the Atrium is not a modern building the facilities were top notch. The Atrium is clean and is the perfect spot for families. The pool and spa are great too.

Review 29:Blast from the past, stuck in the 80's It was not explained to us,nor was it advertised anywhere (stated in lift sat/sunday only) thatthere was a buffet breakfast everyday during our stay, the cleaningstaff left a pair of used rubber gloves on the couch and on another dayput and left my pajamas on the floor and we were refused late checkoutafter it had been pre arranged but it didn't transfer when weextended our stay for one day.Room facilities were very basic...we asked for an iron and ironing board but had to collect from reception as there was only one staff member on reception. The ironing board was miniature and the legs collapse under load. There was no information in the room about local things to do and see. There was no safe and no bench space (or adequate lighting) in the bathroom. The hotel and decor is very outdated and really needs some TLC. Such a great location and such potential.

Review 30:Short walking distance to most of the main shopping and restaraunts.

Review 31:Cockroaches and spiders in room, decor was outdated needs an overhaul

Review 32:Great swimming pool good for toddlers, lovely breakfast and lovely staff. Great location!

Review 33:We had a great time with our family. Our granddaughter used all of the facilities! It was terrific to see so many other families enjoying the Christmas holiday period happily together. The restaurant catered for our needs. There was more than adequate parking. The resort was close to all of the facilities that Mandurah has to offer. The staff were polite, helpful and super efficient. It was a real value for money experience for us.

Review 34:Nothing was to dislike! It was great value!

Review 35:We just needed a little family weekend away and it was perfect! Staff were great! Family room was great. We were shocked that the room included a little kitchen. Was super clean & comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

Review 36:Staff were great except for the 1 bar attendant she was miserable, terrible customer service.

Review 37:The location was great, it was a short walk to cafes and the foreshore.

Review 38:Pool had white film on it and my child was sick after swallowing the water. The breakfast was poor.bacon burnt poached eggs hard. Asked for more and the cook didnt do it. The asian barmaid could be taught to be friendly to the customers. We were made feel a nusiance

Review 39:Relaxing

Review 40:Little outdated. Has old wall air conditioners. No air con in the bedroom of the one bed apartment. No options for eating except $140 banquet being it was Christmas. Too expensive for a family.

Review 41:Staff were accomodating.

Review 42:That being Christmas the only food available was a $140 banquet. Nothing in local vercinity was open. Banquet for family (7 of us altogether) wasn't a budget friendly option.

Review 43:The staff were accommodating and it was a good location.

Review 44:There was a lot of noise going on up until very late; well after 11 p.m. which kept us awake. Also, one of our bath towels had a fresh blood spot on it. It was replaced promptly.

Review 45:Our room was clean, pleasant and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. We had a nice view from the window.

Review 46:It was so great staying at the atrium we have stayed there before but this stay was even better. After one night we got our room cleaned which we weren't expecting so our second night we enjoyed it coz we had a nice clean room to come back to after going on little adventures during the day.

Review 47:We returned at night to a wet kitchen floor as the built up ice in the fridge had defrosted. The TV volume didn't work on all channels. No face washers in the bathroom. Cramped dining suite.

Review 48:Location is great. The kids love the indoor pool as they can swim regardless of the weather.

Review 49:The room smelt like stale cigarette smoke, decor is very old and outdated and carpet was disgusting. Toilet was on an angle so felt like you were going to fall off and there wasn't a face cloth to use the body wash in the shower.

Review 50:Location and bed was comfortable.

Review 51:Where do I start. What has happened to the Atrium- used to be a fave- this time had to ask someone to actually clean/mop our floor, sticky and filthy on our arrival, kettle leaked!! :0 ONE set of shampoo and Conditioner for a TRIPLE room. Looking out to a revoltingly filthy pool is and I thought that 2 YEARS ago as well, hasn't been touched. Also bad service at dinner time, waited to be served whilst others after me were served first! Was ridiculously rude!!

Review 52:The location is central.

Review 53:The lack of wi-fi is the only thing I thought was disappointing. If you wanted internet you had to pay for it by the hour.

Review 54:Close to the Mandurah foreshore. Lovely indoor pool. Spacious room.

Review 55:Slightly lower rates

Review 56:Friendly, helpful check in. Useful local information. Central, free parking and uncluttered lobby. Did not use restaurant or bar but staff were pleasant and welcoming. The atrium is light and spacious giving a soothing appeal. Nice stay. May use again if there is a 3 night offer on. Came up from Albany for hospital stay in Rockingham.

Review 57:The bathroom size is reasonable but the shower area is extremely small, even for Asian size ! My wife got a scratch on her arm while soaping. We stayed on the 5th floor , the mattress is uncomfortable but bearable . Woken at 5am by the birds & by people shouting ( including @#$%*@ ) on the 3rd floor to the gardener working below. Apparently the workers seems to know the guys staying on the 3rd floor as I saw them at the balcony on the 3rd floor room talking after my breakfast.

Review 58:The location is very convenient

Review 59:Room well cleaned however carpets stained and need replacing Dinner at restaurant not up to standard - pork belly special was too fatty and needed more cooking time. Tuna special x salad was too large and unappertising - was a nice effort but missed the mark.

Review 60:Property was comfortable for a 3 day stay. Rooms although dated were clean and well serviced. Kitchen facilities adequate for couples or small family Renovation no doubt would be a winner

Review 61:The rooms were tired and was overpriced for the facilities. Drove right past it and couldn't see any signs on it as we approached or drove past. Told abruptly - there are signs but they were on the other street frontage!

Review 62:No exhaust in the bathroom (or if there was it didn't work very well) so the mirror fogged up quickly when showering. It would be better if there was a mirror in the bedroom too (maybe over the desk) then it would make it easier to get ready.

Review 63:Staff were lovely. Hotel was clean and comfortable, great value and parking was easy!

Review 64:The furniture in the room was tired, my husband was suffering from a pinch nerve in his back, the bed was so tired it sagged in the middle. The sofia also was of poor condition. we did not report it as we to stay only the two nights.

Review 65:The restricted view of the canals, and the proximity to the main visitors hub / river front.

Review 66:Didnt like everytime the room next to us would turn on the shower loud noises from the tap could be heard in our room.it woke us up on our first morning. Was very annoying hearing it for 3days.the room next to us was 411.we were 410. Other than that we enjoyed our stay at Atrium.

Review 67:Loved loved the location. Was close to everything. Loved that we could just walk down to the boardwalk, to restaurants, beach and lots to do in the City Centre which is just minutes away. Even if we drove to the shops, the Mandurah Forum isnt far either. Rooms were always cleaned. Will definitely stay again.

Review 68:The Internet was shocking, advertised as available in all rooms but when I asked at reception why it didn't work in the room I was told that it only works well on the ground floor and I think this should be advertised- that there is free wifi on the ground floor, not in every room. Most of the rooms also face out onto a busy road that is very noisy.

Review 69:Shower was too small needed bigger shower head on shower plus quick mixer adults bed room needed a king bed because bed was too small adults bed room needed air conditioning may be ceiling fan

Review 70:Food was excellent kids loved deserts and the inside pool "staff were very helpful and would stay again

Review 71:we had the buffet lunch and it was terrible we had six at our table and no one enjoyed it. it was cold and all the dishes were runny and watery and food very dry. Had a meal monday night in bistro and it was lovely. Rooms were clean but couldnt sleep due to noisy airconditioners in surrounding rooms

Review 72:Convenience to everything as was in walking distance

Review 73:Non-smoking room reeked of tobacco. A non smoking room with a small balcony for smoking and a sign to close the balcony door is an oxymoron. Smokers stink. Their breath and their clothes stink. That is what gets into the room even if they do close the connecting door. It is false advertising to say that this is a non-smoking room.

Review 74:Adequate for my need. Good bed and good lighting for writing reports.

Review 75:Just a thought - perhaps the addition of a toaster in the room would be great to have along with the tea and coffee making facilities. Also, providing a shower cap would be helpful.

Review 76:The Atrium is an honest, clean and friendly hotel stay - and with the deal we had, a really good price. We wished we had been able to stay longer.

Review 77:Rooms smell a bit old and musty, outside area covered in cigarette ash. Staff advised us spa was out of order, we phoned an hour later to enquire when it would be fixed, advised at least a week.... It was working half an hour later!! Bizarre communications!

Review 78:Price is good value. Like the kitchenette and spa

Review 79:fridge could do with upgrade, view over green smelly swimming pool, next door, disgrace, shire should be doing something about it.

Review 80:walking distance to shops and markets. choice of meals at hotel

Review 81:Your staff and your room is very outdated. To us it was just a bed not an experience of a lovely hotel.

Review 82:Your receptionist didnt greet with a smile neither did she give us a map or directions to our room.she didnt explain or tell us anything about your hotel. Nothing about the pool hours , bars , brekky, room service. Nothing was mentioned.

Review 83:Very bright lights in the atrium which shone directly into the eyes for first floor clients when leaving the room. Otherwise all good.

Review 84:Value for money & very friendly , accommodating staff.

Review 85:Had to knock on glace door to get back into hotel after finishing watching movie after 11pm, auto card reader was not working.

Review 86:The room had good facilities

Review 87:Felt staff could have been a little more welcoming

Review 88:The rooms were an excellent size with kitchenette which would have been great for a longer stay Bed was comfortable and toiletries excellent Lovely view

Review 89:Room service lady was rather rude on the phone a friend who also ordered food said the same thing

Review 90:Facilities price reception and security staff very friendly

Review 91:We are locals from Pinjarra and chose to stay at the Atrium for my wife's birthday due to the fact it was close to all restaurants and facilities we wanted without having to drive and could therefore enjoy the evening. Location perfect, hotel facilities and room surprised us due to the age of the hotel and value for money excellent. We will no doubt stay again when we need to celebrate an occasion and not have to drive home. We had a view of the ocean as well, another plus.

Review 92:Location was perfect, within walking distance of most cafes restaurants and bars. Pleasant walks along the foreshore and Dolphin Quays. True value for money.

Review 93:This hotel is very old. The rooms are old fashioned and in need of renovation. Nothing relaxing of luxurious about the place. I wouldn't stay there again.

Review 94:Desperately needs an upgrade. Last time I stayed here 20 years ago, seemed besides the paint changing everything else the same. Toilet didn't flush properly, towel rail broken, could hear next room's noise, shower taps made loud noise when on. Expensive breakfast $25 for a buffet. Went elsewhere.

Review 95:Cheap and cheerful. Room clean and beds comfortable.

Review 96:The toilet drips and when complained about this to several members of the staff, they mentioned that they already knew about it but did not see on top of saving water.

Review 97:nice kitchen facilities

Review 98:Decor was a little dated.

Review 99:Friendly and accomodating staff Breakfast was great. As part of my role in sport development with the Institute of Sport, I need to visit Perth at least monthly. Usually I stay (at work's expense) at the Rendezvous in the city but a pit stop in Mandurah on the way back to Bunbury seems more condusive to my schedule.

Review 100:This is my third stay at the Atrium and my husband's second. The 1st time was before the Dome and The Cultural Centre were built, so years ago. Our little apartment was perfect for us and it was lovely that my husband could bring his 'gopher' into the unit for topping up the battery; This meant I didn't have to push a wheelchair and we were both able to move freely. Ashley and the other ladies at Reception were very helpful and friendly, as was the staff in the restaurant, where we had a buffet breakfast. Yumyum. We'll be back, no doubt about that! WENDY HABOLDT AND GARTH SLADE I love this place: it may be an oldie, but it is definitely also a goodie

Review 101:Lowest level room right beside an internal atrium swimming pool full of noisy children and noisy parents. The room was old and in need of repair- large holes in the vinyl flooring in the 'kitchen' area, stained couch, overlooks an old dilapidated property with a half full dark green algae filled pool, and worst of all TINY NITS on the sheets when we pulled back the bed covers. We did not/could not sleep there and left and obtained accommodation elsewhere.

Review 102:We did not like anything about this property. The reception staff were disinterested and we were disappointed that booking.com had this accommodation listed. The pictures and description were very misleading. The hotel does not even have an exterior sign any where stating its name! Cant believe the property is rated 7.6 - it should be 2.9 - it is overpriced - have stayed in $70 per night roadside motels which would leave it for dead.

Review 103:The smell of chlorine as soon as you walk pass the reception desk and when you leave/enter you room.

Review 104:Friendly greeting from reception staff. The welcome from the bar attendant Miss Usa & the way she gently guides the staff from assisting in drinks to waiting on guest in the restaurant & the vast knowledge she has in making cocktails that is very pleasing to the eye & taste-buds. How comfortable the bed is & cleanliness of the room.

Review 105:The door to our room was very stiff being a fire door, which is also a hazard because getting out of the room took some time.

Review 106:Good central position. Lots going on around the hotel.

Review 107:As a business traveller it was the wrong place for me to stay. No iron or ironing board in room, had to ask reception staff and was given an ironing board a child would use as a play toy, so small, legs collapsed.

Review 108:Meal in dining area good value

Review 109:We had to ring reception to ask how long the people in the bar was going to be allowed to be noisy as at 10 pm they were still loud.

Review 110:Having a comfortable bed to sleep in as we had a busy day and the next day was going to be busy

Review 111:A bit on the noisy side...

Review 112:Rooms clean/tidy and comfortable. Meal in the restraunt was excellent, they were very busy with the riders from the ride for cancer over the weekend.

Review 113:Being asked for photo ID when the room had been paid for. No D/L no passport. Bit of an issue

Review 114:Restaurant is great. Great value for money. Awesome food.

Review 115:Whilst the staff were very lovely and the hotel was kept very clean, it was very outdated. When walking into the building there is an overpowering smell of chlorine from the indoor pool. The rooms had old decor and the bathrooms were very outdated. The room had an old noisy box air conditioner in the wall.

Review 116:Good amenities.

Review 117:We had a bad experience in that the lift chose to break down with my husband and 7 year old inside. It was a fairly anxious time for all of us, staff included ! Everyone on staff was very helpful and did everything they possibly could to help us. I was very proud of my 7 year old grandson . He was very brave ! It was one of those experiences that was nobody's fault and ended happily for us . Thank you to all staff.

Review 118:We had our 2 grandsons with us ( aged 7 and 9 ) as a special treat, having never stayed in a hotel / resort before and it was back to school time soon. They and I loved the pool- couldn't keep them out ! Also loved breakfast, specially as the Bain-Marie chose to have a hiccough at breakfast time !! We had great fun !

Review 119:It would be nice if refurbished a bit modern The couches very uncomfortable How the tv is set up

Review 120:Close to everything We ate at the restaurant and liked it very much

Review 121:Horrible smell of chlorine from the pool pervaded the atrium and seeped into the room. I can’t imagine eating or drinking in the poolside restaurant or bars. The whole place has a tired, dated, run-down feel and the room, although well-equipped and spacious, had the feel of a 60s/70s flat – maybe it was the low ceiling and painted brick walls. The bathroom was OK but not great and instead of toiletries they have liquid soap and shampoo dispensers.

Review 122:Studio room was spacious, had balcony with reasonable outlook, good bed and TV, good kitchenette. Parking was easy and there seemed to be plenty of free bays.

Review 123:Lovely spacious room, modern decor, comfortable bed. Good location walking distance to the marina area & restaurants. Really good value for the price.

Review 124:The hot water in the shower took for ever to regulate, and even then it never actually worked properly, always turned cold then hot too hot! And the restaurant buffet was not very appealing nor was the selection.

Review 125:The kids love Having the pool inside, and the tennis courts are always fun! Especially when I found out about being able to turn the flood lights on when it gets dark!

Review 126:We had no air vent in the shower bathroom, and the shower hadnt been cleaned. Lights kept flickering and inly some of them worked.

Review 127:The staff were very helpful and couldnt have asked for more accommodating staff.

Review 128:Carpet was smelly and so was the lounge. Very noisy room, you could here all the traffic. Our oldest daughter had bites all over her, we are hoping it wasnt bed bugs. TV sound was crackling. No AFL channel, no gym room

Review 129:Location, price of rooms were resonable, it was clean, bathroom and kitchen had been renovated. Swimming for the children.Pizzas, movie channel. heating, aircond and fan in room.

Review 130:The noise from the children in the pool radiating upwards towards all the rooms in the hotel. I heard screaming etc until late. It's great that the pool closes at 10pm, but the noise needs to be regulated and noisy players need to be shooshed!

Review 131:Location was brilliant. The hotel's own woodfired pizza 'brand' was absolutely delicious! Amazing, brilliant and way under-advertised!

Review 132:On the morning of check-out, we checked under the beds to make sure we had left nothing behind and we noticed that one of the beds that the kids had been sleeping in was smashed at the bottom, with splinters sticking out. There was also a wine glass under the bed, which had been there obviously since before check-in, so the room had not been checked or cleaned properly in our opinion. Also, on the morning of check-out, I picked up a sanitary packet in the bathroom and under it was a suspicious plastic package, which looked like it had contained some kind of illegal drug - looked like tiny crystals!! I filled in a "comments" sheet and took this and the suspicious packet and handed it in to reception. Nothing was said about the package or the broken bed, and no refund was offered, so consequently this left us feeling very disappointed when we left. It's the second time we have stayed here this year. Hope to hear further about this issue, but the hotel has not made any contact with us. Hence the low review score, as the room cannot be said to be either clean or comfortable when "drugs" were left lying around, and our kids could have easily picked them up and the bed was broken and dangerous in our opinion.

Review 133:Great location. Breakfast was good.

Review 134:Fridge in the room was noisey, kept waking up when it turned over. Shower curtain in bathroom & exposed plumbing is out dated.

Review 135:Staff, service & meal.

Review 136:No option for breakfast except $25 and $13. No way I'm spending $25 or even $13 on each child for breakfast. There should be other more affordable options.

Review 137:The staff.

Review 138:Sound from pool, but in saying that it wasn't that bad.

Review 139:The apartment was great value clean well set out comfortable size. Shower was nice and hot with great pressure.. Beds were very comfortable. Staff were very polite and happy.

Review 140:The lounge was uncomfortable and the carpet was old and worn. Music in the main Atrum was too loud and could be heard clearly inside my room.

Review 141:Convenient location, friendly staff and very clean. Free onsite parking.
