Reviews for Edde Sands Hotel & Wellness Resort - él’Hôtel

Review 1:A disgrace masquerading behind a fancy resort name. The rooms are spacious but furnished like a 2 stars hotel from another time. The location in an aesthetically challenged residential neighborhood doesn't add to the charm. The restaurant at the top floor generates an insane amount of noise with chair dragging and the like throughout the night. The friendly staff's response to that was: "Oh the noise only goes on till 1AM" which didn't stop in any case till 2:30. It is expensive for nothing

Review 2:Nothing

Review 3:Everything was excellent from the hotel staff especially receptionist Rita, who was super friendly and really helpful, to the hotel room, resort facilities, breakfast, and location.

Review 4:The hotel room where we stayed smelled heavily of cigarette smoking, and when I asked about changing rooms - the receptionist sent someone to spray a deodorizer in the room (which was also a strong smell so we just left the windows open for the duration of our stay). It was unclear (we received mixed responses) when we asked what chairs / amenities we were allowed to use at the resort area.

Review 5:The bed was comfortable

Review 6:The room was too small and not as described on booking.com as 30 sqm. I didn't like the hotel room and I do not recommend it. I would love to use the resort facilities but to stay somewhere else.

Review 7:Hotel staff are the best from the reception to housekeeping and resort staff at the restaurant and at the pool. The access to the resort is an essenitial. The breakfast at the resort was remarkable. I enjoyed everything.

Review 8:the sheets were a little bit uncomfortable they were polyester it made us sweat all night

Review 9:Everything was perfect can't complain.everyone must stay in this hotel

Review 10:Bad connection of the WiFi the pillows in the room are so annoying The Drivers of the shuttle have to drive in a calm way.

Review 11:staff is amazing, and special thanks for Rita she is very help full and makes our stay amazing

Review 12:The room is not spacious. The WiFi is not stable at all.the bathroomsituation is very bad and dirty and the hotel is way over priced. Alsothey don't provide a kettle in the sweat

Review 13:The resort is nice, the Lebanese restaurant is excellent

Review 14:The rooms are in need of an upgrade. The bathroom especially was outdated and felt like I'm at my grandfathers place in the village rather then a resort. I didn't like the fact that although being a hotel guest I still had to pay an extra $100 to sit by the private pool only other choice was to stay with the public who can pay to get in, issue here was that it was so busy I couldn't find a good spot to sit. I did enjoy myself but I spent less then half somewhere else that gave a more modern room to stay in.

Review 15:Shuttle access any time from the room to the resort. Nice pools and beach area. Good and friendly staff

Review 16:1) The bed has a mattress protector Like hospital beds , plastified cover unconfortable ! 2) The Junior Suite cannot be considered as a suite ! It's a normal double room!

Review 17:The facilities for moving from the hotel to the resort by a shuttle car !

Review 18:The decoration, the junior suite's bathroom is dated and does not look squeaky clean. Noisy room.

Review 19:Location, room size, friendliness, view from balcony

Review 20:- Initially a bit of confusion between the different locations of the el'hotel and the resort itself, but there is an easy shuttle and the distance is easily walkable.

Review 21:- Location is great. Walking distance from the old city but beautiful and spaceful resort. - Breakfast was big and delicious - Very friendly and helpful staff

Review 22:the showers in the spa were not that clean, they could be cleaner, no sechoir and no conditioner...you should place more signs on the entrance gate.

Review 23:the chalet and breakfast

Review 24:Little problem with the wifi strength in our room as it was a corner suite, although it was great everywhere else

Review 25:Everything. Great food reasonably priced in a wonderful location

Review 26:Room was not what was shown on booking.com. My expectations were not met at all since the room we actually got was half the size of that shown in the picture. After complaining to the reception we got a small upgrade which helped a little, but these things should be clear from booking stage.

Review 27:Service was very friendly and flexible. Shuttle service to and from the spa area was very useful. Spa experience was lovely and relaxing.

Review 28:The room is a bit too small, and the entrance to the parking is narrow. You have to be a good driver to go into it.

Review 29:It's a very clean and a true 4-star hotel. Waiters and receptionists are well groomed, tidy and polite. The breakfast is excellent, very rich with plenty of choice.

Review 30:The room was very small for two adults travelling with one small piece of luggage each (as we stayed there for one night only), let alone for two adults with enough luggage for a longer stay. It was smaller than those in the photos.

Review 31:Breakfast is served either in the resort, which is off the hotel or else in the room. We opted for the room service. The breakfast is huge. We had enough for 3 or 4 people.

Review 32:Very basic hotel, noisy until 2am as there was a party . I was supposed to pay 220$ but was charged 242$ for no reason

Review 33:Clean room, good internet, fair breakfast

Review 34:Leaving

Review 35:One of the best holiday resorts that we have ever visited. Our room was immaculate, the staff were real friendly and the breakfast was great. Food and drink for dinner and lunch was reasonably priced. We will certainly be back...

Review 36:The suite which was $50 extra per night was not worth it. It was a little bigger than other ocean front rooms but didn't have any extra sofas or chairs. It is useful if you need an extra bed or more guests. Nothing fancy about the room though. The bathroom window points directly into the neighbors and doesn't have curtains to cover it....

Review 37:The shuttles to the beach are fast and frequent, about 5 minutes away or less. The ocean views are great from third floor and higher.

Review 38:Don't expect fancy facilities as this is just a beach resort. One thing I mainly didn't like was the sound proofing. Music from the neighbouring edde sands beach party could easily keep you awake.

Review 39:Great beach resort. Excellent staff. Comfy rooms. Value for money I'd you are targeting edde sands beach.

Review 40:The hotel room was so small, quality of furnitures are not up to the standard, toilet had a bad ventilation and smelly, AC split unit (cooling distribution was not moderate), the quilt is too heavy and bed mattress cover has plastic material in it which made us sweat all night, didn't sleep properly at all.

Review 41:The hotel is located on a walking distance from their beach facility, have a shutter transportation back and fourth, the beach is so clean and layout is well equipped with comfortable seats, breakfast is served on the beach side with wide variety, staff are so friendly.

Review 42:Enjoyed our stay there. Friendly staff. Rooms are neat. Only downside is the location. As its far from the resort. However, shuttle service is available day time.

Review 43:Overpriced and not a 5 star. Rooms are not part of the main hotel and room is barely big enough to open the suitcase. Air conditioning is a noisy split unit and tv decoder doesn't give access to many Chanel's. Sheets and towels are old and main hotel pool has terrible service with 2 staff serving 3 pools.

Review 44:Hotel staff were very friendly and happy to assist with any request

Review 45:Unique location near Jbeil; friendly and professional staff; wide range of facilities.

Review 46:It was fantastic! Great service and amazing staff.

Review 47:The mattress is not comfortable, we did not have a full night sleep.

Review 48:Helpful staff, clean hotel, perfect location, nice view.

Review 49:Rooms were a bit smaller in size.

Review 50:Friendly staff and facilities were good.

Review 51:Continental breakfast, the sea

Review 52:full shuttle service

Review 53:The view was partially blocked by the restaurant across the street.

Review 54:Breakfast as close to the beach as possible- amazing ambience!

Review 55:Everything about the place

Review 56:The AC was making a loud sound !!!!!!

Review 57:The proximity to everything in Jbeyl

Review 58:Bed smell in the room

Review 59:Calm place to relax

Review 60:Excellent...

Review 61:Bathroom tub not architected the right way. Water everywhere.

Review 62:The resort was pretty and location was excellent.

Review 63:The breakfast by the beach

Review 64:Great beach club with shuttle service (less than 5 min away), great breakfast, nice hotel with all modern amenities.

Review 65:I did not have a god view from the room and the hotel was far to the beach it was not very convenient

Review 66:The swimming pool and the beach

Review 67:Too noisy at night due to the multiple weddings that take place there

Review 68:The politeness and dedication of the service,as well as the location

Review 69:Tiny room. massive hard pillows. Staff not all that attentive. Not all facilities are included. Some you have to pay extra

Review 70:The beach

Review 71:the breakfast was incredible, the views stunning, access to the beach and resort..it was great...

Review 72:Location and access to the beach resorts

Review 73:Everything

Review 74:Excellent service and helpful staff Food was great

Review 75:Rooms were a bit noisy late at night and early in the morning

Review 76:Room is very clean Staff is friendly

Review 77:Some blind spots with the wifi

Review 78:Standard room a bit small

Review 79:Great location friendly staff

Review 80:bathroom would benefit from some improvement

Review 81:Good location, helpful staff, good food.

Review 82:The generous breakfast served on the balcony of the sea-view room. The great sandy beach. The quick response to demands

Review 83:Room finishes are rather poor and back dated

Review 84:The breakfast is outstanding

Review 85:Our room was very small.

Review 86:The location and the resort was amazing. It is a great place for relaxing.

Review 87:other pools are dirty

Review 88:the VIP pool and breakfast

Review 89:Not organised Unskilled staff

Review 90:Breakfast

Review 91:Expensive for a three star hotel, placed outside the resort and staff at the resort should be trained to meet the level of service expected by clients of the hotel.

Review 92:The view is amazing, the reception staff were cooperative. Clean and hygiene place.

Review 93:The hotel is separate from the beach and pools , you need shuttle or car

Review 94:Perfect resort, next to Byblos old city, nice beach and pools, good restorants

Review 95:at the beach, we have seen only one swimming pool : there is no map in the resort. staff checked our bag but they didn't introduce us the resort ...

Review 96:very nice to brekfeast at the beach

Review 97:The room was very small, not much room to move around.

Review 98:The hotel is basic. It is clean and good if you want to hang out at the resort. The staff were friendly and we had no problems with our stay.

Review 99:The lack of clarity regarding the hotel location outside the resort. The smoking smell in my room in the middle of the night. The smell of the towels (Kind of like an old smoke smell on them).

Review 100:The cleanliness in the room

Review 101:You are definitely paying for the resort because the standard room issmall with barely enough room to move. The service is well below averagein the hotel. We were given the key to our room and it had somebodyelse's bags in it. Simple requests failed, such as "do you haveany change?" (no) "can we have an iron?" (ironing boardbroken) and in general the staff came across as very pretentious. Therewere many "extras" in the resort E.G. sun loungers/VIPareas which you would have to pay more money for that made it feel morelike a european easy jet flight rather than a classy hotel/resort.

Review 102:This place is all about the resort and the resort is done well. It'sa special place, great to hang out during the day on the beach or by thepools. The shuttle is always readily available to take you between theehotel and the resort and its just around the corner. The restaurantsare nice and a great environment to watch the sun go down over the beachin the evening. We stayed two nights, specifically for a wedding and thevenue was fantastic, the food delicious and the service at the weddingperfect. There are also many events that take place at the resort suchas beach parties which are great if you're there to relax but stillwant entertainment. Free wifi always a bonus in Lebanon and right besidethe beautiful Byblos!

Review 103:The location is not prestigious on the contrary to Edde Sands beach, Spa... The bathtub window was broken so water was going on the floor

Review 104:The white sheets The cleanliness

Review 105:The staff was very friendly and professional. We appreciated the way they welcomed us. Shuttle services from beach to hotel and back at any time. Comfortable rooms. Perfect breakfast setting by the sea... Excellent spa experience.

Review 106:The rooms are very small with basic requirments

Review 107:The location is very convenient and close by Edd Sands beach resort. One can get all the beach facilities. and the staff was very friendly.

Review 108:A lot of employees working and no-one too intentive to help. When asking for information, no-one seemed to know anything. E l'hotel restaurant never seemed to be serving complimentary breakfast, always had to go to resort to get continental breakfast. Construction work on beach with front end loader going up and down the beach. Loud music late at night, but wasn't too bad because we had a courtyard facing room, I'm sure it would have been different on the ocean view side.

Review 109:Stayed at the E l'Hotel, with courtyard view, just outside of the resort which was clean and comfortable. Not a far walk to the resort and shuttles were easy to get between hotel and resort. Felt safe walking from hotel to resort and to nearby Souk and Byblos ruins. Beach was nice and it was never a problem finding a beach or pool chair. Food was good.

Review 110:Location: It is not a beach hotel. The hotel is split into 2 parts whichis not clearly advertised on the website. BREAKFAST:The breakfast wasaverage on the first morning. On my second morning I was told to get theshuttle bus to the beach resort part of the hotel for breakfast or incuran additional charge if I ate in the apartment block - this infuriatedme as breakfast was part of my room rate and I did not want to travel toeat. I think this is a con by the hotel to raise additional revenue. Notgood. Front desk: The front desk staff are not proactive and needfurther training. It took about 30 minutes to check in and out and 45minutes for them to order a taxi as they 'kept on forgetting to bookit!' Alternative hotels: Many of my friends staying Byblos thatweekend in other hotels had very good, clean and efficienthotels/rooms and in much better locations than this hotel so lookaround for alternative options if I were you.

Review 111:The pool was nice (but the website doesn't tell you that the cheaperrooms are a shuttle bus away from the beach resort.)

Review 112:The staff that we did not have to deal with on a regular basis (guards, shuttle drivers..etc), ironically, were beyond "unfriendly". Their behavior can easily be categorized as being rude. They never responded to greetings, never responded to "thank you's", never even smiled, and never provided any help. One guard, upon our first entry to the hotel, almost yelled at us for "parking in the wrong place" (we did not park in the wrong place, it turned out. He was simply misinformed). The guards at the beach and pool facilities were no icons of friendliness either. They obviously mistake their job for that of investigative agents, repeatedly asking for our entrance tickets in such suspicious ways it looked like an interrogation at times. For such fees that the hotel charges, it would be the minimum expectation that everybody, from doorman to guard to receptionist, adheres to the same standards of excellence in service. There should not be "good guys" and "bad guys" at such a resort. It is simply a shame that this was the case.

Review 113:The reception staff were simply phenomenal: helpful, friendly, quick acting, resourceful... you name it. All the while never failing to keep a shining smile, no matter what they were doing and no matter how demanding the guests were. The breakfast menu was one of the richest we have had, and certainly the most delicious. The beach and pools at Edde Sands are simply unbeatable. All in all, the hotel is in no way cheap, but it certainly provides what you paid for, and exceeds it at times.

Review 114:Staff was very friendly. Even sent some shirts we forgot all the way to Beirut without any cost. The resort is great and next time I will come around June where the season has picked up.
