Reviews for Prince Palace Hotel
Review 1:We stayed for two night in this hotel. The room was clean and the location is okay. The hotel begins on the 11th floor, where a kind of rooftop pool is with nice view! The hotel is surrounded by markets and close to the water taxi.
Review 2:The bathroom shower made a weird loud noise. The pool had no sun lounges chairs to bath on they only had the bar seats.
Review 3:The rooms were nice and big. Quite close to the nightlife. Swimming pool was really nice. Staff are friendly
Review 4:bad wifi, no wifi in the rooms, the staff is not cheerfull, I don't know why they say it's a 3 stars hotel.. there's nothing around the hotel
Review 5:Nothing
Review 6:My room was very old fashioned, needs updating and drinks at the pool were very expensive, 2 bottles of Chang in pound sterling worked out at 8pound for 2, people told me Thailand was cheap but its not at your hotel.
Review 7:Big room.
Review 8:We had problem with the card we were using for payment and it seemed because this didn't work the staff just walked away and did another job while we were left standing wondering what to do . NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHAT SO EVER !!!
Review 9:Comfortable rooms. lovely pool area !!!
Review 10:Located in a very poor area of town, but a taxi or tuc tuc gets out of there fairly quickly.
Review 11:Lovely hotel, food was amazing, staff were really helpful, room was lovely with a stunning view.
Review 12:The location was ok but a taxi was required for most journeys, the notorious Bangkok taxi metre issue was a problem here, hotel staff did little to help and suggested we pay the fixed prices which were at least 3 times the metre price. The main issue was the considerable leak from the air conditioning unit.
Review 13:Nice spacious rooms and good value for money. Good facilities if not a little expensive for Bangkok prices, nice views of the city.
Review 14:The hotel is too old and lacks serious renovation. The window in the room was dirty. It takes about 30-40 min to get to the city-center by foot.
Review 15:Great view from the window in the room on the 25 floor! Nice terrase with a swimming pool on the 11 floor
Review 16:I had reserved 2 rooms including breakfast yet we were not registered to have breakfast included. We were given 2 rooms, both with 2 double beds instead of one with a kingsize bed
Review 17:This hotel was nice but everything close after 5:00pm so there was nothing to eat close by and no stores to shop after dark like many areas in Bangkok. Also, higher floors do not have access to wifi so we had to leave our room and stay in the lobby of our floor just to get wifi which was very inconvenient
Review 18:We like that they have a restaurant onsite since there was no restaurants or street food after 5:00pm.
Review 19:Not possible to have two connected bedroom even with young children (5, 8 and 10 years old) and even if it was requested previously by email. Very complicate to grab a taxi with a working counter even with the staff of the hotel, always double price requested !!! Last point : Not appropriate breakfast for young children (no milk chocolate, only tea or coffee, no cereal choices) and too long time to be seated and served.
Review 20:Nice pool on a roof top.
Review 21:To many extra charges. 300 baht for an hour charge for wi fi in the room. 600 baht charge to bring guest to the room at night. I had been drinking with a friend and it was not done discreetly made her feel like an escorts girl. Hotel very busy had to go to breakfast early to make sure could find somewhere to sit. Swimming pool no where to sit after 10am have to arrive early. Facilities can't cope with size of hotel.
Review 22:The room was very big and good value for money. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 23:It was really dirty, smelt old and musty. We paid for cheaper hotels before and they were kept better than this! Staff not very friendly or helpful. Breakfast was too busy couldn't get a seat. Not a 4 star hotel!
Review 24:Nothing we would not stay here again!
Review 25:You have to pay to use the spa and gym. No wifi in hotel room just lobby. Rooms are very basic and need a face lift.
Review 26:Breakfast, swimming pool area and landscape.
Review 27:Overall the hotel had a feeling of a once-impressive empire which has been in decline for decades. It's simply too big to maintain and that shows with the staff, the decor and the general atmosphere of the place. We particularly found the staff to be quite badly trained and quite grumpy! I got told off for falling asleep on a sofa in the lobby while waiting for my transfer which I found a little odd. The food was pretty horrendous too at breakfast. Don't eat the jam. Don't eat the jam.
Review 28:Pools are really nice if a little busy. The gym is really huge and well kitted out but you have to pay extra to use it. Our room was massive but very dated and showing signs of decay.
Review 29:Bed sheet did not change for 6 days during our stay. Make me think if they change a new sheet and comforter before we check in or is the same with the whole hotel room. Whole body itchy when sleeping starting second night. Both of us had the same experience.
Review 30:Staff needs to be bit more friendly, and hospitable towards guests. Guest service needs improvement.
Review 31:Over all facilities were very nice. We rented a prince suite rooms were nice, clean and comfortable.
Review 32:It's a big one, two gates got the drivers confused sometimes
Review 33:the location is good, not far from the grand palace. As it's a big hotel, it has 2 gates and sometimes the taxi drivers got confused. We didn't have a safe box in our room.
Review 34:Staff at the front office when we checked in is rude. No greeting and smile at all! The location of the hotel is also not convenient. While there is a wholesale market just downstairs, we find it rather chaotic. For family with young children, it is rather troublesome having to take the lift up to level 11 to reach the hotel lobby and walk a good 7 mins to get to our suite on the other block.
Review 35:Bed is comfortable. The 3 rooms suite we stayed at comes with a large fridge so that makes storing food for the kids alot easier.
Review 36:The food. No Wi-Fi in the room.
Review 37:Huge hotel that once would have been very grand. The couch in our apartment sums up the whole experience. It looked fantastic but was uncomfortable to sit on. The two bedroom apartment we had was absolutely fine (a little run down) and the beds were comfy. Clean at first glance but loads of dirt/dust under the beds. Our kids loved the over the top Christmas displays and thought the pools were fantastic. Unfortunately the food was not up to scratch, and again, a lot of effort had been put on the displays of the food (including breakfast) but it just didn't taste right. It seems they have fallen in to the trap of trying to please the European taste and in that, loosing the Thai touch. An exception is the Japanese restaurant on the premises that has lovely food. If you are looking for great pool areas and are happy to eat somewhere else, this hotel is for you.
Review 38:Disgusting !!!, Repulsive !!! We saw in our room a lot of insects and cockroaches (Bugs). I even woke up at night because I felt something on my head and when I switched on the light, I saw a bug on the pillow Disgusting !!!, Repulsive !!!
Review 39:The Pool and its area. The Morning Breakfast. Very fast and quiet elevators. Friendly staff.
Review 40:Very Good Reception Service. Very Polite and Expedient. Checkin was quick. Rooms well prepared and clean. Though the whole complex very crowded yet efficient and very easy to move around.
Review 41:I felt it was ridiculous that there is no internet in the rooms.
Review 42:The hotel was very comfortable, and although its location was not the best, the view was really good. Also, we could get everything we needed around the facilities and because it is not on a touristic centre, transportation is cheaper. We went there with a 40% discount and I felt I got my money's worth, however, I would have been upset if I had paid more.
Review 43:Nothing.
Review 44:Though bit away from noisy shopping areas, this hotel is ideally located and has easy access to city center. Staff was good and very helpful. Breakfast was good and we had a very good stay at this hotel.
Review 45:few comfort in the bathroom: no toothbrush, no comb, humidity on the wall, no extra towels for the pool old style in the room: cathodic TV with a few international channels no free wifi
Review 46:swimming pool breakfast design of the hotel
Review 47:Only wifi in reception and pool next to reception. No restaurants or bars nearby ( only local markets )for European tastes . Food , drink quite expensive in hotel . A little dated in bedrooms but v clean .
Review 48:Friendly and helpful staff. Both pools good. Good fitness centre . Very pretty at night with trees and plants all lit up . Large variety of food for breakfast . A top class grand hotel but a little dated in certain areas ( bedrooms )
Review 49:Even after my request for late check-out while booking the room, they have charged THB.500/- for being late for just 15 minutes after staying there for three nights. It was very disappointing as I stayed in so many 5 star hotels around the world and first time got such an experience. 2 pm is the check out time and I informed them to keep my bills ready at 12:30 pm. We were ready before 2pm and waited in the room for someone to come & check the Minibar/others which is a usual practice, but nobody came and when we reached at the reception, they have charged penalty of THB 500/-.
Review 50:Location is good. Liked the Breakfast
Review 51:I found stuff to be rude. We were asked to pay for drinks twice and when we pointed out we had paid already they demanded we pay again. Very rudely and embarrassed us.
Review 52:The staff in the lobby when you check in are incredibly rude all the time. some rooms are very far away from all other parts of hotel. Only has wi-fi in Lobby! (Major pain!) you have to take a taxi/tuk tuk to get anywhere outside the hotel. needs to be upgraded. AC in sleeping rooms was horrible!
Review 53:The price is hard to beat. good views of the city. 2 pools. nice spa
Review 54:A very big complex of 4 high-rise building which could be a disadvantage if you get a room far from the lobby
Review 55:Beautiful Hotel , Nice rooms, multiple pools and resturants, very luxorious. If you really love authentic food, look for Floor 6 under building C
Review 56:internet not available in all room equipments are very old did not provide necessary things including shower gel, toothbrush and paste, need to ask daily slide door is locked for viewing
Review 57:good breakfast
Review 58:Very good location, various choices on breakfast. Unfortunately very poor WiFi available only in lobby and few more places. Very crowded area but very close to river boats which partly helping.
Review 59:The kids thought it was haunted. We arrived at night and the lighting is not great - anywhere. Very dark. Big quiet common areas added to the atmosphere. The place is huge - three towers, rooms everywhere. In need of a makeover. Some would say it added to the charm - some may think it would all over in the next wind. Depends on who you are.
Review 60:Great view. Quirky and clean. The location would depend on what you are looking for - close to Ko Sahn, palace and other sites yet with the amount of roaming overpaid Tuktuk drivers would be quicker and cheaper to get one from another part of town. I could get to the airport for what they quoted for the 3 minute drive to Ko Sahn!! Bargain hard. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 61:No internet in rooms! Slow internet. Not a great location need to take taxi everywhere. Indifferent service despite having many staff including opening doors! Inefficient. Big hard pillows.
Review 62:Big rooms, nice pools. Great views from high floors. Good breakfast buffet.
Review 63:The location was okay but we always ended up get tuk tuks to places. The hotel felt a bit dated but was good value for money. They have a really strange light system in the room that means you cannot use some of the plug sockets ay night.
Review 64:The hotel had a good facilities and the breakfast was quite good.
Review 65:Too expensive to eat and drink at hotel, no wifi in room. When asked if there is anywhere to eat nearby was told no. Check out Bobae tower underneath hotel, local food cheap and good shopping. No vibe!! Give me cheap guesthouse on Ko san anyday!!
Review 66:Location was excellent, canal boats right there! Facilities ok, as was breakfast.
Review 67:- the connection wasnt free in our room - restaurant was too expensive for us
Review 68:- The view was wonderful - the staff was very kind - our room was clean - the pool was avalaible - free coffee and tea in our room
Review 69:It was dirty and with bugs Uncomfortable pillows Shower flooded the whole bathroom every time Shower cap over the smoke detector
Review 70:Views from the bar at 11th floor Decent location Reasonably helpful staff (limited English though)
Review 71:Staff extremely friendly. Rooms really good, particularly the double rooms as we were travelling with young children. Walk outside an there is the street market and there is a market in the same building as the hotel, fantastic clothes shopping and massage amazing!!
Review 72:It is very old hotel and nothing is modernized, worst part is they are charging for local calls within Bangkok and it is costlier than our roaming rate. One minute charging is 54Baht.Touting for taxis are allowed just at the entrances
Review 73:Location, value for money, good breakfast
Review 74:Yes had bad experience with the travel dept for the trips out and the when I tried to discuss the problems he was very rude
Review 75:not too much I am afraid and I have been to many in bangkok
Review 76:Breakfast a little bland (for the price). Staff tend to favourite guests who seem to have more money.
Review 77:Great pool! Very clean and friendly staff. The views are fantastic!
Review 78:the fact that there was not any decent restaurants close by plenty of food vendors though
Review 79:it was pretty handy for places of interest many temples not too far
Review 80:It says the gym is part of the hotel but when we got there the lady said it wasn't part of the hotel and we had to pay 150 baht to use it ! I would expect someone to warn you of this before and for 2 bottles of water it cost 150 baht which is ridiculous
Review 81:Friendly helpful staff, comfortable clean and modern rooms!!
Review 82:Breakfast selection limited for those who are veggie, just bread and fruit if you don't eat egg. Food not halal. Wifi not free in rooms. Hotel transport a rip off. Big AC van gave a tour but was moody and resisted taking us places. Tuk tuks there would detour to another shop for us to buy things. Blood on our bedsheets when we arrived which was quite disturbing.
Review 83:Good location next to a wholesale market. Good breakfast although limited selection for veggies, a few different cuisines available. Clean pool. Good size room and big bed.
Review 84:Although no check in time was available I was made to wait three hours in the hot sun as there was no available seating inside due to a conference taking place. I had been travelling for nineteen hours.
Review 85:Everything was available within the hotel.
Review 86:Dirty windows, lack of good English speaking staff
Review 87:A wide range of food to choose from for breakfast, swimming pool on 11th floor, amazing view (26th floor)
Review 88:I would not even start to write about the thing that the hotel is very shabby and run down, but the staff is VERY RUDE! My children got ice cream on towel, nothing big, just a stain. When we chacked out the staff asked me to pay for the towel, when I asked them to show me the towel to prove that it can not be washed, they took me the dirty, unwashed towel and told that if I am not gone pay than I should "go and wash the towel with your own white hands" and that they are keeping our bags until we pay, of course I paid as we had no time to deal with them, but it was a disgusting experience. The hotel itselfs is not great on cleaning standards as there was dirty rugs around the room when we arrived and they never in the 3 days colected dirty towels, just left them on floor and put out new ones.
Review 89:pool
Review 90:the room was not up to standard, cockroaches in room. they ask if I am sure I saw them. really??? they gave us another room but the shower water kept messing the floor. I did not complain just put towels on the floor.
Review 91:The hotel location is up of the cloth markets and in the day is so busy and noisy , and is far from the BTS , and Bcs hotel busy so no have some secive, for example no have scale and can't help keep luggage, and the last check up room and the stuff say we lose one slippers but at last say mistake
Review 92:Room is big and look clean , swimming pool and countunt bar is nice , breakfast no have so many choice and very busy but delices . We have put the cloth in the shower room and stuff help wash .
Review 93:The staff did not speak English, not even at the reception and therefore they could not give us information. There was wifi only in the lobby, where tourists had to squeeze in to connect. Found cockroaches in the room.
Review 94:The location was quite good and central. It has an amazing rooftop pool with a breathtaking view over Bangkok.
Review 95:There is a clothing market outside the ground floor. A bit noisy and messy. We did not hear noise perhaps because we stay at high floor
Review 96:It is indeed a four star hotel. The service and facility are great. The swimming pool has city view. We stay at 29th floor and have city view at our room. The room is very spacious.
Review 97:The place is a bit quiet after dark unless there is a market going on and there are few restaurants outside the hotel unless you want to travel. Prices in the hotel are not cheap but in line with hotel food anywhere else in the world. Just because it it Thailand doesnt make everything cheap.Taxis are readily available though. There is a canal next to the hotel which will get you out into some other areas.
Review 98:This place was fabulous. I upgraded my room on line and had another upgrade on arrival making my double room into an executive suite. It was great. A little dated but nothing was lacking. There are several choices of restsurant and bar available to suit all tastes. I paid around £33.00 per night which is really good value. The pool bar is the main attraction and there was always good music, great views and food available. A terrific hotel.. Despite the location I will say there again. I know how to call a cab.
Review 99:no wifi, no water in mini bar or table, chinese style of service, cola, water or drink in the restaurant only, but VERY, VERY expensive!!!
Review 100:Beautyfull view from 17th floor, big room, fast lift, nice reception,
Review 101:Nothing to complain about hotel. Just nothing to see outside hotel. No cafe, no restorans outside hotel. Nothing to do on street outside:)
Review 102:Very good breakfast. Clean room. Very friendly staff. Nice pool. And nice pool bar. Tall building which was nice.
Review 103:Reply from one of the staffs (then when we went to another one she said yes and helped us out but the other one said no) NO HAND SHOWER beside the toilet Not enough items for breakfast
Review 104:>Cleanliness >View from the room >Decorations >Breakfast area
Review 105:1. Limited access to Internet (No internet access in rooms). 2. Service from non-management staff (watering, bar and front desk staff needs improvement.
Review 106:Helpful and friendly management staff.
Review 107:The area is quiet after dark so taxis required but not really a problem.Tours and entertainment can be arranged on site.
Review 108:I read some earlier reviews but should not have worried. This is a great find. Excellent facilities. Bars and restaurants on site. Very helpful staff.
Review 109:The swimming pools were lovely and had amazing views. Free use of towels too which is always a bonus. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was brilliant and excellent value.
Review 110:They cannot order taxi to airport! Usually the airport taxi price is ~400TBH, but hotel offers car for fix 1500TBH...
Review 111:Huge night market around, with boat taxi the city center is 5 minutes Street food around the hotel cost 1$/day
Review 112:room dirty (curtains so dusty, windows very dirty, scratches on the wall) always missing something in the room (i.e toilet paper) everything is an extra: what hotel make the client pay 300 Bath per hour for Wifi in the room? the hotel taxi is the double price of the city taxi...
Review 113:nice top view, nice staff
Review 114:The service is the worst I've ever met! The manager, who was working 19.11.2015, is the rudest and angriest person! He ruined all our impression about this hotel. I don't know, maybe it's ok for them to act like this. We had some issue with our bed-linen (it was accidentely stained), housemaid haven't changed it. When we asked why, the manager came to our room, scolded and told us to wash it by our hands or pay for it! They haven't even tryed to wash it in the washing machine! Which respectful hotel (not even speaking about 4 stars) will force his guests to wash the bed-linen?? Never will come back to this hotel, all they need is to take as much money from the customers as they can.
Review 115:breakfasts were good
Review 116:Nothing it was great !
Review 117:Everything, this place is awesome. I was really impressed. It is so grand and the staff really go the extra mile. It's fairly pricey but I felt the service and facilities were unbelievable for the price we paid! Definitely going to stay again !
Review 118:Bugs in the bathroom, the hotel rooms look nothing like the pictures, everything feels damp and stale.. spend a little more and get a better hotel
Review 119:The pool and breakfast was nice, and we managed to get an early check in since we arrived early in the morning. the airport is a half hour drive if traffic permits.
Review 120:Good location- 10 min drive to khaosan road and grand palace. Room was very comfortable- way more luxurious than our previous hotel for only slightly more money. Lovely pool area though pool itself is not very deep.
Review 121:Wifi only on the reception floor, strong sewer smell out side our room and on each floor by the lifts.
Review 122:Great huge rooms, comfy beds and amazing rooftop pool, lovely staff, and service around the pool area.
Review 123:I really don’t understand how someone can call this hotel modern ornice. It’s an old, tacky and dirty place, decorated with very bad taste.Everything there should be renovated or at least cleaned. Carpet in theroom had stains and looked like it haven’t been washed for ages. Showerand shower curtain were molded. Windows were so dirty you could barelysee what’s outside. We even received a dirty towel… There arecockroaches there!!!!! It’s also a very noisy place. Walls must be madeof cartoon, because you can hear everything that is happening in otherrooms – people talking, playing music, etc. If your neighbors are takinga shower or flushing the toilet you can barely hear the tv – it’s thatloud. The ac is also really loud. Next to the hotel there is an outdoorcinema that is extremely noisy. The WiFi is a joke. It’s available onlyin the lobby but it’s difficult to connect with it and works veryslowly. So forget about a good sleep there. You’ll be waken up at 6 amby your noisy neighbor or noise from the street. If you’d be able tofall asleep in the place where you know the cockroaches live and canenter your bed when it’s dark…
Review 124:no wifi in the room and poorly connection in the lobby
Review 125:+ two swimming pools + in the same building there is a huge shop where you can buy whatever you want in reasonable price
Review 126:For the price this hotel probably wasnt worth it and should only be a 3 star, staff could be a lot more attentive
Review 127:Good facilities, great pool and bar overlooking the city
Review 128:Room was a bit dated but served its purpose for my stay it was still clean and didn't smell The beer at the pool bar was over priced not excessively but still expensive The wifi was non existent in the rooms but was good in the lobby Overall it was mediocre
Review 129:Staff were friendly and polite Views were nice from the pool bar roof terrace
Review 130:The wifi in the lobby barely worked. There is no wifi in the rooms. The non smoking room we had booked smelt quite ashy and also smelt of drains. We found cockroaches in the bathroom. We were also woken up every morning at 8am by room service coming in.
Review 131:The breakfast which was payed extra for was excellent. The bedroom had a great view, comfortable beds and hot water. The pool area was also fantastic. The staff were very helpful with planning what to do and how to get about.
Review 132:No free internet in the rooms, and the wi-fi downstairs was extremely weak. They charged for using the fitness rooms and for local calls. The food was not very good and way overpriced.
Review 133:- USELESS tourist info, the city "map" given at info desk is not to scale and marks their own hotel in a wrong place. - Hotel desperately needs refurbishment; wallpapers are peeling all over the room and curtains tear if you touch them - hotel spread across three towers, placed in the most remote one - Tower B only accessible via flight of stairs - location is close to the city centre, but it won't make a difference with most of the tuk tuks or taxi drivers - most of the time you'll get charged for skin colour not for distance travelled - no WiFi coverage in room (not even paid one)
Review 134:+ good breakfast buffet + friendly reception staff + clean room, comfortable bed + close to river tram - best option to get to the skytrain +some rooms (not ours) should have nice views of Golden Mountain and the Palace
Review 135:Shared bathroom facilities aren't my thing, but the shower here always seemed to be cold! Also, the air con in the rooms were absolutely freezing and unable to find staff most of the time to have this changed.
Review 136:This is my first time staying in a hostel and to say I was wary is a massive understatement, but the stunning location of this place makes any worries quickly fade away! Situated right on a street of idyllic Restaraunts, bars and a market leading you right to the beauty of Aonang beach. The place is gorgeous. The hostel itself is very secure and I felt safe. Dormitory rooms are relatively spacious - although I don't have anything to compare this to.
Review 137:Nothing bad, but few restaurants in the immediate walking area.
Review 138:The hotel is clean, the breakfast choices wide & tasty and the views from the higher floors amazing. Wish I'd had time to use the pool.
