Reviews for Piccolo Hotel La Valle
Review 1:It's rather difficult to find it in the dark as the sign is quite small. The staff was rather cool.
Review 2:This hotel does have subterranean parking. It's just a few hundred feet from the gate to the historical city.
Review 3:Splendid view of the Orcia Valley (we ordered a room with nice view) Helpful staff, though not talkative, they are very helpful Nice breakfast with view
Review 4:We had a room with the most amazing view and a small balcony - well worth paying extra for. The bed was really comfortable and the on suite shower was very powerful! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Review 5:Staff was very friendly, nice and helpful (he waited for our arrival till midnight ) There is breakfast with wide offer of local products - especially prosciuto, salami, cheese and sweets nice place very clean and nice room useful parking lot
Review 6:Breakfast could have been better. It was adequate but I feel there could have been more variety and not a reliance on packaged buns and cakes. Cold fried eggs would have been better in a warming plate or some scrambled eggs would have been nice. Fresh coffee was very good.
Review 7:Good base for traveling around the area.
Review 8:The bed was a little uncomfortable but okay, better the mattress is a little hard than to soft.
Review 9:Excellent location, clean rooms, quality fittings and friendliness of staff.
Review 10:Nothing.
Review 11:Good sized room with great view of the Tuscan hillside. Very good breakfast for Italy. Town is quiet and peaceful. Property is right across the street from old town. Garage on site. Good value.
Review 12:Well situated close to the old town. The staff helped us out with restaurant booking over a busy weekend. The onsite parking is useful as places are hard to find in Pienza.
Review 13:This hotel offers a lot of amenities and is very nice place to stay, but I can't understand how in 2014 they still do not have internet available in the rooms. They have good wifi in the lobby and breakfast area, so it shouldn't be much of a stretch to make it available in the rooms.
Review 14:The room seemed like it had been redone recently, so everything seemed very nice and new. Modern bathroom with plenty of space. Mini Fridge, safe, extra pillows, blowdryer, comfy bed. The balcony was very nice and had lovely views of Tuscany. Free Parking was great since we had a rental car. Breakfast was very nice - fantastic cappuccinos! There's also a small market within walking distance.
Review 15:NOTHING!! EVERYTHING WAS OUTSTANDING!!
Review 16:We stayed for two nights and it was picturesque, relaxing, romantic. We had a room with a balcony view that was just breathtaking! Would recommend this hotel to EVERYONE! VERY CLEAN! Breakfast choices are plentiful! Wish I could have stayed longer!
Review 17:As this was our sixth stay at "Piccolo" since 2008, it was great to find that nothing had changed in the last 2 years. Excellent family-run hotel in great location in our favourite small Town in Italy. Best tip- Try to get a balcony room with the "vista panoramica" of the wonderful Val D'Orcia.
Review 18:The only complaint was with the hair dryer, one of those small one-speed models.
Review 19:This small hotel was a gem. It’s located just outside the walls at one end of town so it is very quiet, but Pienza is small so being at one end means a five minute walk to the other end. Nothing is far away. We were on the second floor and had a great view of the valley from our small balcony. Our room was comfortable and clean although on the small side, but the bed was comfortable. Most of the time we parked in front in a small area fit for three cars. But when a tour group, small one of 15 people, had their bus park there two nights we parked in the garage. The garage is under the hotel, never had more than three cars in it, and was roomy enough to make U-Turns in, and with plenty of room to turn circles. Breakfast was superb with all the usual expected breads, cheeses, meats and cakes. But, cakes is putting it mildly. They always had at least six tarts or pies, some of which they sourced commercially, but two or three of which they make themselves. The tarts were amazing, fruit filled, rich, and it was hard to avoid getting triples. They also had fried eggs though if you were not there early they were not as hot as might be preferred. However, breakfast was, as noted, superb. A patio, and a garden area were also available to sit out on for breakfast, or anytime, and indoor seating was bright with one wall filled with windows and doors opening to the outside. WiFi was only available in the lobby, but it was good, and there was plenty of comfortable seating.
Review 20:"Facilities for disabled guests" should mean there is, first of all, a lift, that is absent, at least for first floor.
Review 21:Parking in building at no extra charge. Correct breakfast in garden. You feel like in a country cottage. Free WiFi in room. Location near town.
Review 22:Nothing. All great.
Review 23:Beautiful view of Val d'Orcia out of our balcony. Nice environment for breakfast, with a scenic view of Val d'Orcia. Great breakfast. 50 meters distance to the walls of Pienza historic centre.
Review 24:Great location. Easy walking distance to the whole town. Best pecorino cheese shops in Toscana.
Review 25:View from the balcony took my breath away!
Review 26:However, there was no staff in the evening or during the night.
Review 27:The staff were helpful.
Review 28:quite narrow entrance to the parking
Review 29:Lovely nice comfortable small hotel; breakfast on terrasse.
Review 30:Great location, perfect breakfest, possible to park a car in a garage, great view, friendly staff and atmosphere ...
Review 31:View
Review 32:On site parking in an underground garage. Fantastic views from our room and a good size bathroom. 5 minute walk into town.
Review 33:The attitude of the hotel management. Being adjacent to Pienza with its many restaurants and bars.
Review 34:Room was a bit small, parking awkward, staff marginally friendly.
Review 35:View from the room. Proximity to town of Pienza
Review 36:Staff was extremely accommodating and the hotel was impeccably immaculate. The convenience of the location made our travels easy.
Review 37:No storage drawers in the room.
Review 38:Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent continental style breakfast.
Review 39:Piazza is a gorgeous little village and this bnb makes the stay here perfect. Beautiful views, great breakfast and comfortable rooms.
Review 40:Did not plan to stay longer .
Review 41:Very nice hotel freindly staff that were helpfull with any concerns and spoke reasonable English considering you are in country Italy . Very close to the centre of the village in this lovely lovely part of Italy . The view from the rooms with balcony ver looking the valley are nothing short of stunning .Great breakfast Great place .Would not hesitate to stay here again if ever back in beautiful Pienza .
Review 42:Absolutely nothing to criticise.
Review 43:The location, just outside the city walls - the view over the valley - the convenience of having a number of good places to eat within 5 minutes walk - all that plus a superb breakfast. But above all, the welcome & attention of the staff to whom nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We spent 5 nights there - & could happily have stayed longer.
Review 44:I enjoyed the lovely location of this hotel, just outside the town center, but positioned perfectly facing the sunrise over Val D'Orcia. I've stayed here now twice...and hope to return again. I also thought that the breakfast buffet was generous with a lot of healthy options, like fruit, rice cakes and artiginal yogurt -- something I truly appreciate.
Review 45:Room was heated a bit high, so tended to get stuffy at night.
Review 46:Charming hotel in a prime position overlooking a picturesque valley from a private balcony, close to shops, great restaurants and tourist attractions. Staff were very helpful. Highly recommended.
Review 47:We couldn't connect to the internet in our room =(
Review 48:We loved the personalized attention, the capuccinos and breakfast every morning and the rooms which are clean and new.
Review 49:our only complaint is the comfort of the bed which should be better for such a nice hotel.
Review 50:this is our favorite hotel in all of tuscany and maybe italy. i can't say enough about it that is not glowing.
Review 51:The best view in Toscana on the land from the hotel (room). Perfect for visit Pienza, or small citiec around. Very clean, great breakfast, no problem with praking, 150 m to the historic centre. FALCO - very good restaurant in the centre. Small town, but i´d like to come there again. If you want to find the ideal hotel in Toscany, you must go there.
Review 52:Booking.com listed that the hotel had laundry facilities, but they did not (and the only laundry in town was not self serve). Garage held 4 cars and was nerve wracking to get out of.
Review 53:Breakfast was great, setting was fabulous and facilities fairly new and well cared for. Little details like Kleenex in the room, a pen and paper, etc...were nice and not found in all of our hotels in Europe. They also provided slippers!
Review 54:We could hear the neighboring room's toilet flush, it was quite loud. We could also hear the garage door, for the car park, opening. Aside from these minor issues the hotel was wonderful & we would go back again!!
Review 55:The staff was friendly, the breakfast was fantastic, and the view from the outdoor sitting/dining area was phenomenal!!! It is a very short walk to the heart if Pienza!!!
Review 56:- No tuscan atmosphere except for the tarrace: a good quality hotel resembling thousands of similar hotels around the world
Review 57:- Decent breakfast in comparison to other *** hotels in Italy. This first only hotel we had eggs served in :-)- underground garage - good local wine in the hotel bar - friendly staff - LOCATION - 3 minutes walk from the very city center
Review 58:The terrace is fantastic. Very clean, comfortable, and sizeable rooms. Located immediately outside the city walls, with a better view than most places inside Pienza.
Review 59:nothing
Review 60:Breathtaking countryside vistas from room and grounds, great location, easy stroll to the beautiful village of Pienza, extremely friendly and helpful staff
Review 61:Absolutely nothing to dislike here!
Review 62:The Piccolo Hotel La Valle was fantastico! The position is perfect fro visiting Pienza. Located just outside the wall a short walk the the center and all activity. The staff is very nice and will help with planning your days and evenings. We celebrated the New Year in Pienza in 2011/12 and again this year. This was our first stay at Piccolo, and will not be the last stay. We love this region of Italy and visit often as we live a few hours to the south. Pienza in general is in a perfect location to see the quintessential Tuscany...rolling hills, cypress lined drives, medieval villages etc.... If you do visit Pienza ask the staff to reserve a table for you at Latte di Luna Ristorante...order the "Maialino Latte di Luna" you will not be disappointed....
Review 63:Payed 130,- Euro per night (room with balcony), that is quite costlycompared to other hotels.
Review 64:The location is very good. Eating breakfast overlooking the Toscanianlandscape is also a very nice experience.
Review 65:We stayed 1 night in this very convenient and comfortable town centre family run hotel. This purpose built hotel is within a few minutes walk of the centre of Pienze with onsite car parking. The staff are helpful in providing advice about places to visit and eat. We had a small, comfortable, clean, quiet room with cotton sheets on the bed and a small balcony with lovely views across the Tuscan countryside. The continental self-service breakfast, served on the terrace, was good. We would have no hesitation in booking a future stay at this hotel.
Review 66:Staff were not exactly friendly, not unfriendly either but 'neutral'. Breakfast was disappointing, no fresh fruit salad.
Review 67:Rooms were nicely appointed and clean. View from the balcony was fantastic (premium rate mind you fro this).
Review 68:This is a great hotel just outside the walls of Pienza. It has a great view of the valley. The breakfast is good and internet functions well. Great hotel.
Review 69:Piccolo Hotel la Valle is a gem in Pienza. Located in a quiet quarter ofPienza it offers fine rooms with en-suite facilities of top standard. The city center of Pienza is within 5 minutes walking distance. Thehotel offers parking in their own rather small garage. If full, you canuse free outdoor places available within easy walking distance. Staffwas friendly and helpful. They speak very well English. Breakfast -which you also take in the nice garden - was of superb quality witheverything you can wish (including even a fruit salad, which is ratherrare in Italy). The price-quality ratio is excellent. Difficult toimagine that there would be something better in Pienza or vicinity.
Review 70:We would recommend this hotel to everyone. The views from the room were amazing and the staff extremely friendly. It was ideally situated in Pienza for trips to the surrounding Tuscan villages.
Review 71:The hotel was in a great location and if you have a car, they offerparking (and even park it for you). I believe this is a new hotel, aseverything appeared to be up to date. The service was excellent, as wehad several requests to the front desk, and they always helped and werevery friendly. One of the highlights is the view from the breakfastarea. It is a gorgeous view of the surrounding countryside. It was alittle chilly, so we didn't sit outside, but they have some tables in alittle courtyard with roses along the wall. Really beautiful!
Review 72:The staff was extremely professional yet warm and friendly. Marco was very helpful and well informed in guiding us explore Val D'Orcia. All his suggestions were on the mark. Parking was tight at times but he was always available in valeting the vehicles at the hotel. I would return without hesitation. A hidden gem when staying ib Pienza.
Review 73:Having dreamt of Tuscany for years now, my expectations were high for our weeks roundtrip in the area. Booking rooms online on short notice is a chance to be dissapointed.. But our "Room with view" turned out to exceed those timid terms. The view was spectacular! From early morning sun to the golden light of the late afternoon; from our own little balcony the green valley lay stretced out below, far and wide, with the glimpse of the village Montepulciano in the distance and the high end of the castlewall of the charming little village of Pienza right next to the breakfast garden. The Renaissance village is situated on a high cliff in the middle of the Tuscan countryside and makes it a perfect base for daily excurscions, the distances are short to the more wellknown villages. The old center of Pienza is beautiful and very quiet. Our room at Piccolo Hotel La Valle itself was small and simple but the spectacular view and our little private balcony compensated for anything! Everything was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was very nice (with window with the same view!). One single thing; the cheap bedside lamps kept falling apart! The breakfast buffet was good and and the staff very friendly. The hotel has its own underground parking and a very nice little outdoor area and garden to sit in. My husband and I was very pleased with our stay and can recommend staying there. Espescially in low season it can be a good bargain for the area. Thank you, we had a wonderful stay with you and would love to come back! Vicky and Erik
Review 74:We didn't realise it was a new hotel. Possibly we misunderstood the description on the site.
Review 75:Very friendly. Great location just across the road from the old town of Pienza.
