Reviews for Captain's Villa

Review 1:There is only one restuarant within walking distance - the Hilton resort. However the food was good there. Anyone coming here should be prepared to hire a car for their stay as it is away from any facilities - except the beach. The owner does arrange this at a good rate.

Review 2:Friendly and helpful staff. We were collected from the airport and given advise when requested. They also arranged a tour of nearby islands. When I stepped on a sea urchin they provided a good local remedy which cured it quickly.

Review 3:Everything was perfect.

Review 4:We really enjoying staying in Captain's Villa. Its such a peaceful place and location. The owners are helpful with whatever you need, they cook amazing fish every second evening and they are always smiling. I strongly recommend the place if you are looking for a quiet place away from the city just 2min from the beach. They arranged renting the car which is necessary if you want to travel around the island. Just lovely.

Review 5:Transfers are expensive,but we've learn since,that's normal in Seychelles,so renting a car is a must!!

Review 6:We only stay there for1night but the owner, did everything in his power to make it as comfortable&enjoyable as possible. It was lovely staff, lovely breakfast, just across the road from a amazing beach! Just a very nice start to a wonderful holidays in Seychelles!

Review 7:We had such a fantastic stay at Captains Villa and we were sad to leave! The property was very well maintained. Quiet and spacious room with a wonderful balcony. The breakfast was fantastic. Beautiful beach across the street from the property. The staff and owner were so helpful and kind.

Review 8:We really like the location of Captain's Villa because it's very quiet and it's very close to the beach. We also like their breakfast and the fresh fruits that they served. Thanks to Patrick, the Captain, and his family, for attending to our big group of family and making sure that we have everything we need during our stay. We really had a good stay in Seychelles!

Review 9:minor things: some water are going out of the shower and too many cables hanging on the wall near the TV

Review 10:Great Location!!! a minute to the beautiful beach of Anse Forbans. Terrific Hosts: Pat and Flo gave a great welcoming feeling, helped in every way needed and made us feels like staying with family. A new,and beautiful building, nice environment and gardening, big room with a little refrigerator, nice balcony with lounge chairs facing a nice view of the mountains and the rain forest. Very good breakfast and excellent dinner. Free and good wifi connection. reasonably priced.

Review 11:Nothing!

Review 12:Patrick is a very friendly and helpfull host. The staff will arrange airport pick-ups and drop-offs as well as car rentals for you. Occasionaly they offer an evening menu with grilled fish, which should not be missed.

Review 13:It is in a great location near a beautiful beach. A super base to explore the south of the island which we did. Patrick organised us a hire car. Patrick and his family were really friendly and hospitable. Our room was nice, clean and comfortable and it was very pleasant to sit on the balcony listening to the Indian ocean in the evening. One or two evenings we had the option to take dinner at the villas which we did and the food really good

Review 14:We did not find anything we don't like. Just keep up the good work.

Review 15:I love the homey feeling and the personalized service of the owners. I was with my brother when I stayed in Captain's Villa and both of us were impressed with our whole stay. They even dropped us to the airport for free before proceeding to their dance party at night. I would definitely recommend the villa to my colleagues and friends.

Review 16:Nothing significant

Review 17:Hotel has only been opened a few months and has that new build, fresh feel about it. The staff are excellent and make you feel at home. Very relaxed and friendly environment The beach is but a 2 minute walk away. Excellent evening meals available

Review 18:Me and my girlfriend, now wife, had 10 days vacation on Seychelles at the end of September.I wanted a not overcrowded place by tourists,a more quiet place to relax and joy.Fortunately for us,I picked up Captain,s Villa. Our hosts Patrick and Flo and their family were absolutely amazing, nice, friendly people who made our stay wonderful! They helped us a lot with complementary transport from the airport and back.Patrick helped us with anything we needed and answered many questions to help us.One day we went together to fish on Anse Takamaka and we have caught our diner-unforgettable.We had diner all together on the terrace of new villa,Flo is a great cook(and the best driver ever!).That night we were lucky to try her delicious octopus salad and very, very tasty lentils with Patrick's outstanding grilled fish. The Dolphin suit was very bright, clean and cozy.It has a nice kitchen, living and sleeping room,we liked it a lot.Wi-Fi,free of charge, worked exellent. The beach across the Villa is so beautiful with transparent, clear water and white "sand"(my favorite,it appeared only for us).I recommend water shoes for explorers.Patrick also helped us to rent a car which is the best way to see the rest of Mahe's beauty.Special thanks to Patrick for helping me to make special surprice for my future wife:)))!!!We want to come back to Captain's Villa and we recomend it!

Review 19:Nothing!!

Review 20:Beatiful and large brand new room and terrace (with a perfectly functioning A/C and a very good wifi connection). The room was at the 1st floor in the new Villa. Owners are very very friendly and no matter what you need they try to help you (e.g renting a car for Euro 43.--/day delivered directly onsite) or info on best nearby beaches and much more. Breakfast (included in the room rate) and when available dinner (not included in the room rate and not à la carte but offered at a very very affordable price) in the veranda. The nearest beach is Anse Forbans, just across the street (1 min walk). You can reach Anse Intendance (the most beatuful beach in Mahe) by car just in 12 min, the beach is fantastic but not so suitable for swimming unless you are a pro because of the strong currents. I suggest you to visit Eden Island (a kind of Marina/yachting club where you find best supermarket, shops and a very good restaurant "Porto Cervo"), it's about 30 min by car from Captain's villa. Captain's villa is not offering dinner every night and the only two nearby restaurants are the one of the Hilton hotel (3 min by walking) and the "Surfers" 10 min by walking but on a dangerous road so better to go there by car. Victoria (the capital) is a 40 min ride away from Captain's villa so if it's raining make sure you have some good book with you to read because there is nothing else to do or nowhere to go (unless you have a car).

Review 21:IF YOU WANT TO FEEL LIKE HOME BUT IN THE MIDDLE OF INDIAN OCEAN - HERE ARE YOU RIGHT - GREAT HOSPITALITY, EXCELLENT FOOD, NICEST PEOPLE WE EVER MET - THANKS A LOT FOR AMAZING HOLIDAY.

Review 22:Patrick and his family is very kind, friendly, helpful and flexible about our wishes and any changes. The room was beautiful and clean. The dinners were delicious and the portion was more than enough.

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:Patrick and family made us feel like home. The hospitality was exceptional. The property is located very close to an outstanding beach. They also booked us a rent a car at a convenient price. Patrick suggested various places to visit and things to do at a cheaper price. 100% recommended property.

Review 25:First, I must say apologies to Patrick for posting my review a bit late. Patrick was amazing - he was very knowledgeable of where to go and what to do, very accommodating with offering help and services that made us more comfortable, and his place is very well kept and nice to stay in. The place is an easy walk to Anse Forbans for snorkeling and a short ride to Anse Intendance. One learning was that we went in August, but fishing season is Nov - May when we could have go on a fishing trip with Patrick, but perhaps that is a reason for us to visit his villa at another time.

Review 26:The off season rains due to El Nino September 2015 tended to spoil magnificent view of the Island

Review 27:The Villa is well located especially for those travelling on vacation, with quiet neighbourhood, excellent hospitality from Patrick and Flowers, the owners, who happen to be staying within the same compound. They were kind enough to prepare dinner and even provide 6 hours tour around the Mahe Island at a very small charge. Kitchen facilities and bathroom were all well kept and maintained. The Villa is also close to the Anse Fobane beach, a clean and least populated beach.

Review 28:The neighbours had a dog which barked till 3am one night and another night they played loud music until 2.30am. Then there are cockerels (we counted 3!!!) who start cock-a-doodle-doo at about 4-4.30am! So don't expect a good nights sleep even with windows closed! The Owners have built a new B&B in front of Captains Villa so no view from the villa other than on to other buildings and car park.

Review 29:Owners were fantastic, welcoming, cooked us food, helped with site-seeing. They were amazing, treating you like one of the family.

Review 30:Nothing at all

Review 31:Great owner!!!! Super helpful with great hospitality made our stay special. Beautiful and spacious rooms with fully equipped kitchen are perfect for family.

Review 32:Everything was very good .

Review 33:Very welcoming ,polite and nice family hotel. The owner of the hotel ,Patrick is very helpful and also can organize a car rental or provide you with any information or advice you might need. Very clean house , nice location ,just across a nice beach , close to a beach Restaurant " Serfers " and Hilton Hotel. Definetly reccomend Capitain's villa!

Review 34:We had an unforgettable time at Captain’s Villa on Mahe, thanks to the very nice and caring family and the wonderful accommodation. We have never felt as welcome as with Pat and Flo. They could help with any question and everything seemed to be so easy. The apartment is very nice, big and lovingly decorated. It is equipped with everything you need for your stay and to prepare some food in the kitchen. Nevertheless, I would recommend having the dinner prepared by Flo, who is an exceptionally good cook and serves the best creole food we had on our whole stay on the Seychelles. And Pat makes a great BBQ with grilled fish. The location in the southeast of Mahe is very quiet and therefore perfect for relaxing. Right across the street is a beautiful white and clean beach (Anse Forbans) with crystal clear water and a lot to see for snorkeling. We also had an awesome fishing trip with Pat and Carlos for one day. Just with a cord and some hooks, we really caught a lot of fish together. Although we were fishing for the first time, we had quite a good success. The great day ended with us eating our self-caught fish. Pat also organized the best souvenir we ever had: he packed us 7kg of our own fish (frozen of course) in an isolation box and we took it back home with us. It was no problem to travel with the fish and to bring it to Germany. It was still frozen when we arrived at home. Car rental as well as transport from and to the airport was also organized by Pat and thus very easy for us. Additionally to the self-catering apartment we stayed in, they are building a very nice new building which will become a bed and breakfast and is nearly finished. It looks very nice and for our comeback, we might try it. In every case, we will definitely come back to Captain’s Villa!

Review 35:Very close to a very outstanding beach. Peaceful and very clean the villa provides a nice staying during our trip. Patrick and his family were absolutely nice and kind with us.

Review 36:a car really helps as little other facilities near by

Review 37:good location near the beach excellent room

Review 38:be aware of that all rooms doesn't have kitchen.

Review 39:The location is perfect - Close to the best batches. The owners and staff is very helpful.

Review 40:nothing

Review 41:That was excellent holiday .I would highly recommend them. Pat and his wife were great hosts and very helpful. We hope to go back

Review 42:Super silent air conditioning. Proactive informative staff.

Review 43:NO AIRCON IN LIVING AREA OF SELF CATERING UNIT. A SMALL POOL WILL ALSO BE A BONUS.

Review 44:EXCELLENT LOCATION. VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY OWNERS

Review 45:Not much.

Review 46:Everything, specially the staff and the owner, everyone was really helpful. The beach across the street from the villa was also beautiful.

Review 47:The place is run by family. They're always ready to help you. Nice breakfast.

Review 48:Great service! The owner is so friendly and nice

Review 49:nothing!!!

Review 50:Everything, Patrick and his wife are just gorgeous, very helpful and generous

Review 51:Patrick the owner was a star! Helped us with all sightseeing and which roads to use and avoid. Thank you for your help Pat.

Review 52:The hosts, the dinner they cooked for us and the location.

Review 53:This is an incredible place to stay. The appartment is really nice but the best are the owners who will do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The food that they provide (for a very reasonable price) is excellent or actually it is devine! The beach is really beautiful and not touristy.

Review 54:I stayed at Captain’s Villa for 7 nights. We arrived in the Seychelles at 7:30am, and as we were so early for checking into the villa Patrick (the owner) had arranged for his son (Carlos) to meet us at the airport.Carols gave us a warm welcome at the airport and he took us for coffee to pass some time, it was the perfect opportunity for him to tell us about the island and what the Seychelles had to offer, he then took us to get some currency (as you can only get Seychelles Rupee on the island), Carlos then drove us to some shops before taking us into his home for us to rest a little before the villa was ready for us at 12 noon.Carlos certainly couldn’t have been more welcoming and polite! – he was the perfect host!Once we were able to access the villa we discovered they had bought us the essentials (Milk, Bread, Jam, Butter, coffee, tea etc...) in the kitchen, which was a really nice jester! The kitchen also has oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and countless utensils / crockery. The villa was nicely decorated, the room were nice and large and they were also very clean, there’s 1 double bed downstairs complete with air-conditioning, roof fan, safe, iron / ironing board and wardrobe, and there’s one double bed and one single bed upstairs. There’s also a very good size bathroom downstairs and upstairs.Wi-Fi worked perfectly and was €20 for a 1GB usage card (we had 4 devices hooked up to and didn’t consume all of it) Satellite TV also worked fine (other than when we arrived, but Carlos was on hand to fix it) and we had all international TV Channels (Including sports)The beach is located across a road from the house, which was beautiful, clean and quiet, in fact we never saw more than two people on it during our entire stay.

Review 55:A little far away from Victoria and taxi can be expensive, however, a bus stop is right outside the Villa and costs only 5 rupees. A good option if you don't mind crowded busses.

Review 56:A home away from home! Flo and Pat made us feel extremely comfortable and was able to accommodate any of our needs. Literally across the road from the beach. More than basic facilities provided. Delicious dinner was prepared for us as requested. We got engaged on this trip and our hosts surprised us with a romantic trip to a beautiful beach to watch the sunset. Pat was entertaining enough to give us a demonstration on how to properly clean and cut a coconut ending with a delicious cocktail made from these coconuts. Definately will be returning to Captain's Villa in future!

Review 57:really a great place, the bungalow is big, perfectly equipped and the beach is just in front crossing the street. The owners Patrick and Flo are very helpful and really nice people, and it's a very familiar atmosphere! We'd come again anytime!

Review 58:We just spent 10 days at Captain Villa. We really enjoyed our stay. Patrick and his family are lovely people. They taking really care of the guests. The place is very clean, the beach is beautiful and they prepare very tasty dinner. We definitely recommend Captain Villa.

Review 59:Wonderful warm welcome from Patrick, Flolise and Kolos(thanks for all!).Well prepared rooms with welcoming fresh fruits. Everyday cleaning.Patrick arranged car rent for us. Sometimes we ordered amazing dinnerswith grilled fish, also Patrick and Flolise bought fresh fruits and fishfor us. Kolos connected wifi in our appartment. And during all ourholidays Patrick and Flolise fully supported us in all issues. Veryshort distance from beach (sand and serene, so it's good forchildren). We would strongly recommend a stay at Captain's Villa andwe also probably return there very shortly.
