Reviews for Hotel Rendez Vous

Review 1:We stayed 2 days in December. No private parking, no breakfast the first day and very poor the other one. No adequate tv programs (no Montenegrin, Serbian nor Croatian), pillows smelled, AC too noisy an so on. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!

Review 2:The only positive "thing" was the boy who served as a manager, receptionist, cook, housemaid etc.

Review 3:There is strange bar in the entrance zone (you probably won't like the people sitting there, they looks drunk and a bit dirty). There is also a church next to hotel so the peal hinders you to sleep sometimes. The bathroom wasn't clean, the faucet was rusty. The shower cubicle was leaking so the floor was really wet.

Review 4:The place where hotel is lockated is really old and beautiful. There are a lot of places to eat around. The room was big but too compelled with the furniture. There was air-conditioning but it was not enough to make the room warm so I had to keep the oil radiator turned on.

Review 5:No hot water in the shower. Single room bathroom was in pretty bad shape with spotty mirrors and a shower stall that needs to be renovated- and have hot water. Considering value for money I'd recommend shopping around.

Review 6:Location great. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 7:The receptionist lady who works there was very cold and not at all welcoming, she looked at me strange and made me very uncomfortable there, so I left after one night.

Review 8:Right in the center of stari grad (the old town), but then again, every hotel/gouesthouse inside the walls of the old town is right in the center. The room is very nice and big

Review 9:the hotel isn't managed in a very professional way. the hotel belongs to a restaurant, which is quite noisy during the day, and the smells from the kitchen arrives to the rooms. there is actually no reception, the single room was fine but the bathroom is very old and arranged in a very cheap way. During a four days stay, they never changed the bedsheets or even tried to clean the room. The fridge is on (and old and noisy) but empty. The breakfast is at the restaurant downstairs, where you can have a coffee and an omelette. and that's it.

Review 10:the position is good.

Review 11:Free Parking can be a problem, as it is first come first served and is used by the locals otherwise you need to use guarded parking

Review 12:Good location in the centre of the walled part of Kotor Restaurant in the square offers guests 10% discount

Review 13:Reception man didn't talk in English There is no parking, the stuff just find a free parking space outside of the old city Noise

Review 14:Inside old city - good location

Review 15:The room is very small and the furniture is weak. Bathroom cleaning deserves better attention.

Review 16:The hotel is in the old town, very close to everywhere in Kotor.

Review 17:Before I booked I sent an e-mail to the hotel asking if I could have mybreakfast earlier than the official breakfast time (8 o'clock). Justin case I had to take an early bus. They answered me that I could havebreakfast anytime from 7.15 o'clock on. When I arrived I remarkedthat breakfast was at 8.30 A.M. The next day I asked to have mybreakfast at 7.45 A.M. because I wanted to make an excurstion and had totake a bus at 8.15 o'clock. A waitress answered that this wasimpossible because the cook wasn't there. Then I asked for just a cupof coffee. She answered that she wasn't a bartender. Then sheprepared a cup of coffee for herself and another waiter and drunk itjust in front of me. I never met anyone so rude.

Review 18:The hotel is unhealthy, a lot of dead squashed mosquito and bed bug mosquitoes on the walls with blood marks! We was totaly eaten by beg bug. The personnel daesnt care about customer and it is difficult to find them. The breakfast start at 8 but it is possible to have sandwitch before (They forget 2/3 times) The waterroom door was almost destroyed in both room (We change the room due to the bed bug) and the shower is fixed with toothpick. The wifi signal is very poor and it is difficult to receive it. There is no sound isolation with the restaurant and the street. All flavor coming from the restaurant (same building) is on the steeps and rooms

Review 19:Situation is great, in a middle of the old town and 10 minute walk from the bus station AC is working

Review 20:There really isn't parking so it is hard to arrive by car and find the hotel. The WiFi was poor.

Review 21:The hotel is in an excellent location inside Old Town over a restaurant. We enjoyed the breakfast and the atmosphere.

Review 22:bad beds, no parking (was promised), expensive parking in Kotor 0,8 EUR per hour (19,20 EUR per day)

Review 23:good breakfast Included, nice location, excelent wi-fi

Review 24:The breakfast is too simple but is free. We want to reserve for 2 Days more but the girl can't say yes or No in the instant. We have decide to reserve the next next few days in an other hotel but we would this one.

Review 25:We have a small apparemment for 60€ in the Kotor's center.

Review 26:Perfect place, location is amazing !! We were given an apartment on arrival and it was brilliant !! Food here also is excellent, try the mixed meat platter but only if very hungry !! Also best breakfast I had

Review 27:The bathroom needs some work to look and be more presentable.

Review 28:The staff was very nice and went out of their way to help. The owner met me to help park the car. The breakfast was great.

Review 29:- Small Room - Bathroom needs updating - Cleaner didnt speak english and kept insisting on cleaning the room even though we had arranged a late checkout

Review 30:- Excellent location - Friendly Staff - Good breakfast Included - Smoking rooms available

Review 31:Although the appartment I was given was very good, the entrance of thebuilding ans the stairs were one of the creepiest and scariestexperiences I have had on any travel. There were also lots of catsaround the location, which I found really interesting. Staff is nice, however not very helpful. They are concentrated on the restaurant of thesame name and have no time to help you.

Review 32:They gave me an appartment near the hotel because there were no morerooms available. For 1 person, this appartment was really good. Clean, comfortable, in fron of the Maritime Museum, it was a perfectopportunity to visit the marvellous city of kotor. I must say that myreview is based on the appartment I got and not on any hotel'sroom. Breakfast is awesome! I would recommend this hotel for anyonevisiting Kotor.

Review 33:Bed bugs (I was hoping that hotel will offer me some discount or free meal to say sorry but I was wrong). Breakfast not so great (my omelette was overcooked big time).

Review 34:Area.

Review 35:What they rent me it was not a single room in the hotel but a room inside the house of a woman. Besides she was very gentile, the room was almost sufoccating. Avoid this kind of situation

Review 36:The breakfat and the wobner of the soba

Review 37:There is no parking! You can try to use the public one but you have to be very lucky to find a free place. Generally in the old town you cannot park,so other hotels also cannot offer you a parking. Secure parking cost around 1 euro/hour about 800 meters far. WIFI working extremly slow. We have got a room where aircondition was evailable only in the living room, no in the sleeping area.

Review 38:Perfect location in the center of old town. Room was clean and very big.

Review 39:I didn't have a chance to see how good or bad the hotel was, since when we have arrived, we were told that there are no more rooms available, although we had the reservation made and it was a bit after 22:00 that we arrived (we informed the hotel that we will arrive between 20:00-21:00). Instead we were sent to a nereby 3 star hotel.

Review 40:Showers were cold on our last day, WiFi barely ever worked. The staff here also work at the restaurant of the same name and this is there main focus, rather than the accommodation. Don't expect the desk to be staffed 24/7 as stated, we struggled to get assistance most of the time.

Review 41:Beds were comfortable and had a great location near one of Kotor's main squares and near the north gate for quick access to the beach. Breakfast is cooked fresh in the restaurant and is nice as long as you like eggs.

Review 42:Great location in the old town. Clean and comfortable. The parking is free and only 5 min walking (outside the wall). nice and welcom staf. Recomended :)

Review 43:Got an spartaner instead of suite No wifi in the room as promised Very noisy Apartment was kind of a construction site with electricity cords coming out from the walls Air conditioner sounding like an airplane and thus hard to sleep

Review 44:Very central yet hard to find though Breakfast was good

Review 45:We booked an apartment that is located about 400 m from the hotel. It was perfect in all means: very nice furnished in a traditional Bosnian style, very clean, spacious and located in quiet surroundings. Breakfast was great, staff is extremely helpful.

Review 46:No satellite TV even though it was specified at the time of booking.

Review 47:Everything was great. Great staff. Great location. Very helpful people. Great WiFi. Reviewers said the bathroom was small but I don't think that's a correct assessment.

Review 48:Room very small - tiles in the bathroom broken with no maintenance Food smell in the stairs Staff not very reception breakfast - no buffet and very limited choice (only eggs in a different way)

Review 49:Good position inside the old town. Good wife

Review 50:A bit noisy at night because restaurants n pubs are at ground level.

Review 51:Location to main bus station within walking distant. Located inside old town, amenties not too old.

Review 52:reception - lack of stuff. breakfast - not what you used to get for a choice of breakfast, no buffet

Review 53:location ideal for someone who wants to stay where it's at. just in the old town. the stuff was friendly with the exception of the boss/owner who also takes care of the reception, but does not have time for that and is not willing to answer questions. wifi fast.

Review 54:Small bedroom & bathroom, much noise from room above, advertised fully equipped kitchenette was only fridge & sink, nothing else

Review 55:Wifi, breakfast

Review 56:Everything was perfect.

Review 57:We stayed a few days and if we knew it is so good we will planed our trip otherway... we will stay at least 5 days in Kotor. Location is great! Staff werry kind. For breakfast they will make everything for you.

Review 58:Staff were beyond rude, were disinterested and unapologetic that the 'hotel' was in an unfit state to be open. Rooms were filthy with light fittings hanging loose, body hair all over the mouldy bathroom and bed was unmade. We booked a double and got a twin and although we were upgraded to an apartment when we threatened to shorten our stay and look elsewhere the sentiment was hollow and the staff lacking in any customer service skills. We have stayed in hostels recently and are not high maintanance in any way but the Rendez vous was by far the worst and also the most expensive on our trip of eastern europe. Kotor is a joy though

Review 59:Location outstanding. Close to city wall walk and in the heart of the Old Town. 15 mins walk from the bus station

Review 60:Rooms could do with some refurbishing.

Review 61:The location of the hotel is very good - in the middle of the okd town on a cosy square. Rooms are very basic but affordable. Good value for money.

Review 62:See shower issue.

Review 63:Breakfast lady was nice but spoke no English. Brekky was coffee, omelette and dry bread. Shower rose didn't work well, drain was blocked and bathroom always flooded. We did, however get upgraded to a bigger room than we'd booked, which was nice of them.

Review 64:According to the booking the breakfast was included but in fact we were offered only coffee or tea. The rooms were called "suites" but were just simple apartments. No slippers in the room (really necessary in such kind of apartments).

Review 65:The location was excellent in the old town. Room is clean.

Review 66:Breakfast option is just a coffee and/or tea, at least outside of season.

Review 67:Staff, Room, Price, Location, you name it, it's not 5 star hotel, it's a little cozy place that's hard to find, but simply good.

Review 68:Location is in a middle of old town, easy to find (try talking with locals). Room is big enough and clean. They provide a parking place and help for paking near the old town. Staff is polite. Price is ok (value for money).

Review 69:There was a young man who seemed to be a general helper. He was supposed to help me get my luggage to the bus station. I was told the range of Euros that I should pay him and it seemed reasonable. Well, it wasn't reasonable to him apparently and he demanded much more. It upset me and we struck a deal but I was not happy with his behavior.

Review 70:The staff members were very helpful and friendly especially one who seemed to do everything: i.e. managed, worked the front desk, waited on tables to name a few. I did not have a computer and when I asked where there was an internet café, he said why do you need one since we have Wifi. I told him that I did not have a computer. He said that I could use the hotel computer as long as the staff did not need it for the hotel business. It was very convenient but also saved me much money during my stay. I also had a problem with another reservation at another establishment on my itinerary and the staff at the Hotel Rendez Vous. There were many other instances of helpfulness during my visit to Kotor. I hope to go back and stay there again.

Review 71:Right on the center of the old town, close to all the stores, restaurants, cafes and sightseeings of Kotor. The staff is very friendly and the rooms very good. I also appreciated the breakfast and restaurant services. More than recommended :)

Review 72:Noise at night from down below on the small plaza can be a problem but this is common in any old town.

Review 73:Restaurant is excellent. Staff exceptionally good. The hotel had overbooked double rooms, so se were upgraded to an apartment at no additional charge...a very fair gesture. Our companions had a standard double, which is on the small side.

Review 74:- Wifi didn't work in the room (worked outside by the restaurant) - Bathroom needed maintenance

Review 75:- Very good location in Stari Grad. - Staff was helpful. - Room was efficient, sheet and towels changed daily and was clean. - Retaurant (owned by the hotel) was very good. Have 10% discount as well. - Breakfast was very well.

Review 76:Bit noisy at night as above restaurants, wifi did not work in restaurant

Review 77:Suited my budget as a solo traveller yet still right in the old town. Handy location for starting the walk up the fortifications. Friendly staff in restaurant

Review 78:10 percent discount in restaurant, but we never got it, small bathroom, broken light in bathroom, broken doors in toilet

Review 79:situated in the city center, restaurant staff was nice

Review 80:the room was too small and noisy until after midnight from the music downstair. The dinner option which included in the booking.com wasn't the option at all- more like a dirty trick to eat in the hotel restaurant, since you had to choose the food from the menu and paid the price difference.

Review 81:the location and breakfast

Review 82:Good location in old towm. Very busy hotel in peak times. Comfy rooms though small due to historic building architecture. The less expensive option in the pricey old town area but most apartments and other accommodation is further from bus station, So ideal for a one night stay.

Review 83:Bed was a bit noisy and cooking smell in the staircase.

Review 84:The hotel is located in the wonderful old town. Staff is very friendly, small but nice room, free wifi, air conditioning, everything you need in bathroom. Breakfast is taken at the restaurant and you have a couple of nice options.

Review 85:It is not in a "main square" of any sort and is exceptionally difficult to find. "Parking available. Reservations required" does not mean reservations are required for parking. There is public parking available but you are on your own to find it and when we explained to the staff where there actually was parking to be found, they were not interested. The internet was usually not available. When I told them I could not get any internet they condescendingly insisted I had put the password in wrong. Internet was sometimes available at the check in desk. There was a lot of noise outside

Review 86:I liked staying in a UNESCO world heritage city

Review 87:The wi-fi in room wasn't good, could not connect.

Review 88:The location in the middle of UNESCO heritage, cozy restaurants all over the old city. The most beautiful walk we had in very early morning, when the town woke up.Hotel has a very nice open air restaurant right in front of it.

Review 89:The bed matress had a strange smell like wet cigars. The bathroom was outdated. There is no free parking even if you make a reservation. ( only if they find you a free public parking space at the time of your arrival).Wi-fi was unstable.

Review 90:Good location, good food (10% discount), free breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 91:Bathroom clean, but quite old and not in a good condition (we stayed at the 3 person room at the top of the hotel). Almost no light in the room (the only small roof window covered with duck tape). Wi-Fi did not work well, connection poor, we got disconnected a lot and were not always able to connect at all. Owner organized us a taxi to go to Dubrovnik, but the price we had to pay in the end was not the same one (but higher) that had been told to us by the owner.

Review 92:Excellent location, good breakfast, clean rooms, hotel owner helpful.

Review 93:The shower didn't work. The receptionist told us twice that it would be fixed right now.. We had no WiFi in our room. The air conditioning wasn't workin like it should be. The receptionist did not spoke english. At 7 in the moring there was no one to check us out. The free public parking near the hotel was small and full, so we had to park the car 15 min. away from the hotel.

Review 94:Honestly, nothing. Don't expect a four-star place. Rooms are small and the decor is a little retro. But I think that just adds character. I'll definitely be returning.

Review 95:The hotel is located in an historic building and courtyard in the old town of Kotor. Rooms are small, but have air-conditioning, private bathrooms (no problems with hot water) and views of the old fortification walls and the dramatic black mountains behind the town. Breakfast is included in the cost of the room, and the breakfasts are excellent. The hotel makes coffee as good as I've tasted anywhere in the world. You sit in the sunny courtyard and can take your breakfast any time between 8 and 12. Never had any problems ordering a second coffee, and the hotel will even make you a pizza for breakfast, should you wish. (I usually had the excellent prosciutto omelette.) The restaurant itself is as good as any in Kotor, and offers a discount for guests. The owner is a very nice, friendly fellow, and allowed me a very late checkout time because my bus wasn't until 14.45.

Review 96:Upon check-in, we had to wait for the unfriendly receptionist to finish her cell phone conversation. We were then brough to the most miniscule excuse of a hotel room that I have ever seen! Despite the reservation description, there was no view of the square below and we immediately asked to be moved. We were taken up a narrow flight of stairs to the top floor to one of the smelliest rooms I have ever envountered, even in an old building. I ran the water a minute to brush my teeth, and the sink overflowed. Then, the bed collapsed when sat on it!!! We therefore had to sleep in single beds on seperate ends of the room below a smelly old air conditioner with no windows. Dismal cleaning (for ex. there was a mix of spaghetti and hair in one corner of the floor!!!) and pathetic service. We arrived late but informed them we would leave early, and checked out immediately the next morning rather than staying the second night. We also skipped the free breakfast as we were so grossed out by the conditions of the building, who knows what was hiding in the kitchen!!!

Review 97:The location was the only decent aspect of this hotel.

Review 98:I bit expensive The wifi didn't work in the room

Review 99:Location is good in the middle of the old town Personnel is friendly and professional Breakfast quite good too with many options.

Review 100:The wifi was constantly switching off, very irritating if you are trying to check emails or looking for information. The sheet barely fit the bed. No lift , stairs only not suitable for older people or if you have large bags or small children. The tv package was strange, only news in English , all other channels seemed to be from outside Europe

Review 101:Great location, perfect for walking around the town. Early check in was available.

Review 102:Nothing

Review 103:Great Little Hotel in the middle of Old Town Kotor. Basics Rooms, but comfortable bed, good air conditioning and good WiFi. Restaurant at hotel gives 10% discount on food. Free Breakfast.

Review 104:We had to ask for the separate bed even though it was stated in the booking also. Wi-fi didn't always work.

Review 105:Location was great and everything worked quite well.

Review 106:Owner wasn't the friendliest, this may have been language barrier though.

Review 107:Good location in middle of town. Can hear some noise at night but it wasn't as bad as I thought was going to be following reading other reviews, it stops after midnight and not much noise on morning. Good breakfast.

Review 108:The Manager let us check in a little early and gave us complimentary drinks while our room was being prepared. He wwnt over and above letting us check out late and calling us a cab ensuring the local discount rate for the taxi applied. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with air conditioning. The location was also fantastic and scenic. Loved the price and the whole experience. The restaurant was great too.

Review 109:- For breakfast you can only pick just one thing of the menu (pancake, omelet or something similar) and also one drink. Anything else had to be paid separately.

Review 110:- Very nice location in the center of the city. - Nice view from the room - Not expansive

Review 111:didn't take credit card.

Review 112:Provision of some services - there was issue with the TV and one of the bathrooms.

Review 113:The location - old town center.

Review 114:Shower head broke and shower leaking

Review 115:Great location and price

Review 116:Located in really old building. So little bit shabby here and there...

Review 117:Nicely maintained, conveniently located hotel.

Review 118:tv did not work

Review 119:warm and comfortable

Review 120:In summer area may be quite busy (therefore noisy at night). In October it was totally fine.

Review 121:Great location

Review 122:I'd appreciate larger bathroom and more TV channels

Review 123:Great location, very calm environment, friendly staff

Review 124:Very Close to all important Sightseeings and the central bus Station. Friendly staff. Fine English breakfast with ham and eggs.

Review 125:Location of the hotel is great.

Review 126:Bathroom was very unhygenic. Also found a coke bag on the floor......or rather my 1 yr old son did

Review 127:Gteat staff

Review 128:Bed collapsed as soon as I arrived and sat on it. Extremely cramped room

Review 129:Central in old town

Review 130:Good breakfast, served in the heart of old city

Review 131:Hotel serves a pretty good diner, especially fresh fish.

Review 132:Gloomy decor, breakfast was available but choices were odd - pizza for breakfast?

Review 133:Good welcome, help with free parking and our bags. Helpful staff

Review 134:A little noisy at night, but by the same token it's only because it's in a great spot.

Review 135:Great location in the old town, and helpful staff.
