Reviews for Il Giardino Segreto
Review 1:Beautiful garden and location, very friendly staff, delicious sweet breakfast, great coffee, excellent bed and quite environment, great value for the price.
Review 2:Our room was on the ground floor, next to the entrance and the coffeemachine. So we woke up early, as soon as the first guest decided to make a coffee, or people leaving early.
Review 3:the room was beautiful. nice to relax in the garden!
Review 4:Rooms were spotlessly clean, well appointed, tastefully decorated, with a view over the private gardens where each visitor has their own private table for breakfast. Rossella could not have been more welcoming or helpful.
Review 5:The staffmember doesn't speak English. I missed some sandwich filling; the breakfast is alright, but practically no filling for on the toasts and cakes.
Review 6:The rooms and location are just wonderful! For breakfast the manager bakes cakes herself and the rest is provided in the room.
Review 7:being centrally located there was a bit of noise, mainly from a street cleaning machine early morning - but this only happens once in a while I think. Breakfast is self service from a little fridge in your room and didn't have any fresh bread, cheese or meat etc like other breakfasts we'd had. They did bring some cake up to the room though.
Review 8:The accommodation feels very authentically Italian within a beautiful part of the old town. There's a lovely garden and everything is within walking distance.
Review 9:Our room, to the left of the front door was a little noisy with visitors returning up to midnight. Impossible to close the door without banging
Review 10:We found this romantic place 20 years ago. It's now busier but still magical. Rosella still as patient and kind as ever. Wish we spoke Italian and ashamed that we don't after so many visits
Review 11:It's a lovely place where you can also enjoy sitting in a garden while you are tired of walking. It's pity that I can only stay there 1 night because it was fully booked on those dates I were there.
Review 12:no parking lot available, for the breakfast you have to go downstairs in take it into your room
Review 13:very nice rooms in the middle of the city centre, very clean, nicely furnished
Review 14:The provided breakfast was disappointing so we went out and bought what we actually wanted - bread, cheese, ham and fruit. I didn't like washing up in the washbasin.
Review 15:We loved the peace and quiet, the convenient location and the lovely maid.
Review 16:Clean, neat, own bathroom with shower. East access and free parking within walking distance. Fresh fruit and pastries for breakfast.
Review 17:Very good location. Nice people and very clean and comfortable
Review 18:small family atmosphere; private garden
Review 19:Perfect location for visiting Pienza, and a quiet getaway to escape the crowded streets when you need some quiet....
Review 20:Location, very friendly reception
Review 21:Everything
Review 22:I liked everything .... I'll stay there again
Review 23:Nothing!
Review 24:Location is wonderful Very pleasant and welcoming host Good breakfast Special atmosphere in the rooms Garden is very nice
Review 25:ambience and Rosellas warm welcome.
Review 26:The breakfast… Though we loved the idea of being able to have it in the room and have a water kettle and even a small burner to heat up the milk, when you come to Tuscany you are not ready for packaged cornettos (croissants) and biscuits. You want delicious, fresh and warm pastries!
Review 27:Excellent location, beautiful garden and nice, spacious room.
Review 28:Would have preferred fresh bread/cornetti for breakfast but there was a good range of packaged food and an excellent coffee machine.
Review 29:Very comfortable room with lots of character. Tranquil and convenient location. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 30:I enjoyed being able to walk out of the garden gate and be inside the walls and on a quaint, picturesque, no-traffic street. Within 15 minutes, we could walk to the farthest points in Pienza.
Review 31:Breakfast was limited but the fact that it was all self service (full fridge and food basket in the room) meant that it was very flexible for early/late risers.
Review 32:The room here was fantastic - there was a reception room, large main room with view of the garden and ensuite bathroom. The place was ideally located in the heart of the old town in Pienza. The staff were friendly although did not speak much English (this wasn't a problem). Great value for money.
Review 33:Parking in Pienza is difficult at the best of times. but we were told where to find free parking a short walk from the hotel.
Review 34:We liked the large size of the room and the peace and quiet of the garden and its shade, right in the very centre of town.
Review 35:The noise in the morning (lawnmower in the garden on Saturday, hammer on Sunday at 7:30 a.m.)
Review 36:The beautiful garden and room, this one refurbished with care for every detail, very intimate, really really nice; the fridge in the bedroom and the possibility to have breakfast inside it with products of high quality; the central location
Review 37:None
Review 38:We arrived more than 2-hour later than the latest check-in time(wecalled in advance), but when we came out from the parking place, we wereso surprised to find the lady from the hotel were waiting for us outsidethe town! And although it says breakfast is not included in the roomrate, but they prepared a lot of snacks and beverages in the room, and acoffee machine outside the room. And the coffee is really good!
Review 39:I loved evetything about Il Giardino Segreto, very big, clean, nicely decorated room with windows facing the garden. Fantiactic facilities and very friendly & helpful staff. Perfect location for exploring Pienza. Simply loved it!!
Review 40:We were upgraded to a lovely apartment and quite enjoyed having so much space and the wonderful decor. We were given much helpful information including where to park for free and tips for good and inexpensive restaurants. As soon as we saw the room, we decided to stay another night in Pienza.
Review 41:Beautiful garden courtyard with direct access from apartments. Charming apartments with all of the basics. We stayed a week and felt at home with the staff and other guests. Great location for a Tuscan vacation. Great value.
Review 42:Would have benefited from a more comfortable sofa. Internet a bit flaky in the rooms but fine at reception.
Review 43:Very friendly staff. Lovely garden. Beautiful location. Week supplied kitchen. Great heating.Coffee maker.
Review 44:Nothing.....place was great for our needs.
Review 45:This was a great find, as the room was the most spacious of any rooms we stayed during our trip. The room was very well appointed and very comfortable. The room included a wine bottle opener, which was a small note to make.....but needed while we were there. The breakfast was provided in the room with a basket of packaged breads, juice in refer., and jam/honey. This was really nice, as we could lounge in the room while having a bite to eat. I would return to this B&B, as the location is great and the staff very friendly. Our host could not speak much english, but we managed quite well with smiles and hand gestures. Parking is tough, so you will need to park "off site"....was not a big deal to us and would not deter us from staying there again.
Review 46:Its location - within the city walls and very close to the main sights- as well as the room, which was well appointed - and the hotel staff, which was very attentive.
Review 47:Would have liked to have an earlier check in time.
Review 48:Really appreciated having access to a lovely peaceful garden. Great being able to make a hot drink and have a refrigetator in the room. Loved it.
Review 49:The garden is really amazing. Location is great, staff friendly(unfortunately, no English speaking stuff, but we managed tocommunicate). Our room was actually a lovely renovated apartment withown kitchen and decoration from previous times (fire place).
Review 50:None. The only negative point is that the check in is between the4pm and 7pm
Review 51:The hotel is in a wonderful middle age house with a flower garden. Theparking is very close and the rooms are big.Everything is thinked tofall you down in the past
Review 52:Communicating with the person who checked us in was difficult, althoughshe went our of her way to drive in her car and let us follow her toknow where to park outside of the city wall.
Review 53:I liked the fact that this facility had an apartment setting and wasfamily friendly. The fact that it offered a private outside garden areawas a bonus, like having anoher room to enjoy outdoors.
Review 54:Would have been nice to have some fresh fruit for breakfast
Review 55:Lovely setting Friendly staff despite us not speaking Italian Characterful room
Review 56:Bad Parking - very bad parking facilities in Pienza!
Review 57:Pienza is a lovely destination even though its touristy
