Review 1：Appi is a bit isolated with limited food options at night

Review 2：food was excellent, Tomoyoshi (the owner) was very glad to run us back and forward to the slopes (good km away) as it's part of the deal given the distance to the slopes

Review 3：We stayed for three nights and it was very cozy, the food was great, the hot tub was wonderful, short walk or drive to the resort. Wish there were more snack options, but onsite the beer vending machine was great.

Review 4：We would highly recommend a car as the train station is remote and there are no taxis or buses. You should eat at the hotel as there are limited other options Lawsons is about 2km down the road. Only 2 bikes were avaliable so don't plan any bike trips!

Review 6：We did not like the smell of smoking all over the public places. There was little to see and do in Appi Kogen.

Review 7：After complaining about the bed the owners referred us to their partner who offered us a Japanese style room, which was nice. On the day after complaining about the dinner, they provided a really nice dinner. They drove us to the restaurant and to an onsen, free of charge.

Review 9：I loved the hosts of Rocky Inn and how they went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable and cultural experience! I loved the meals they created for us each day, sushi party one night, Shaba Shabu another night, just simple delicious!

Review 10：My husband and I had a fantastic stay at Rocky Inn. The owners Sato and Nora were friendly and most hospitable. The food was sensational and plenty of it. All the food is grown at their farm and the river fish we had was caught 3 hours before we ate it. We went during the week and it was very quiet. The skiing at Appi Kogen was really good (great powder) and the owners were happy to drive you to the slopes and pick you up. It was great value and I would recommend this accommodation for a stay at Appi Kogen.

Review 14：Stayed here for 4 nights. There is not a lot of choices for dinner but you could walk up to one of the large hotels. We preferred to stay at the inn. The food was fantastic and we ate here every night with different cuisines. Nothing was too much trouble. The onsen was small but a welcome relief after skiing thru powder every day. They picked us up at appi station and took us up to the gondola every morning (about1km). Just a phone call after skiing and they came to get us. The rooms are small but they all are in japan. And you only sleep there. The fire in the middle of the dining room was lovely. The manager spoke a little English but we could get by with our limited japanese. Drinks from the bar were reasonably priced. I would recommend appi rocky inn.

Review 15：The staff were wonderful, they upgraded us to a bigger room for free which is always nice. The breakfasts and dinners are a cheap as you'll find in appi kogen, a fairly delicious too. They drive you to and from the ski fields at no cost. If you are arriving by train make sure you call them in advance and they will pick you up.

Review 16：There was no snow so the owner let us cancel the remainder of our trip and we had fun with the owner and his wife
