Reviews for Hotel Mar e Sol & Spa

Review 1:Rooms are not very attracting, but OK if you just want to sleep.

Review 2:The view from restaurant for dinner and breakfast is the reason why you might want to come here.

Review 3:When I was in the relax massage I can ear some noise from the Gym.

Review 4:The View from the room and the location of the hotel, very quiet, and it worth pay a bit more and have a room with a balcony. Cause u have many thing include. The staff was very friendly and helpful

Review 5:The wi-fi connection was unable to reach in the morning, but after my notice to reception desk, they restore it. Than it runs well.

Review 6:This hotel is located on the seaside in nice small wilage. Rooms are nice and clean with everithing what is necessary for my satisfaction. There is also fridge in the room. Hotel have it own SPA and there is very nice view from restaurant.

Review 7:The air con was poor and did not cool the room sufficiently for a good night's sleep. The smoking area for the bar is contained within the building and smoke drifts into the main area. Not good for 2014. The management of the bar on the roof was poor.

Review 8:Fabulous location - great sea views. Quiet seaside town. Dining room also looks out to sea - wonderful sunset.

Review 9:Location, orderliness, comfort, good staff

Review 10:Excellent value - helpful staff.

Review 11:The breakfast not enough selection or amount

Review 12:The location and the room balcony furniture needs upgrading

Review 13:outdated, needs renovation

Review 14:My shower was leaking water everytime I had a shower, and the floor room was with dust

Review 15:The terrace and the staff there.

Review 16:The complete village was empty of people

Review 17:The view and the upstanding landscape

Review 18:Hotel is a bit old already therefore needs renovation

Review 19:Location and view is amazing! Hotel stuff was extremely helpful and check in fast.

Review 20:Would benefit from a pool 2 spa baths accommodating just 4 people each is not ideal.

Review 21:Noise from the fridge; tv channels were not working properly; water from sanitaires were not being retained.

Review 22:Nice view to see; silent a part from the fridge

Review 23:Food and drinks expensive. Spa and pool table expensive. No tea and coffee facilities in room. Coffee machine in dining room disgusting!

Review 24:The hotel is very modern and clean. Views of the coast amazing as right on the seafront. The rooftop has two hot tubs and sunbeds and fantastic views which must be great in the summer. Staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking space.

Review 25:The hotel has quite an excellent location, just by the sea of thevillage and is rather friendly, including its staff and facilities.Breakfast is also very pleasant, in relation to the price so, I woulddefinetly recommend it to anyone.

Review 26:We just needed a place to crash that didn´t mind our insane hours. They had no problem with us checking in at midnight, leaving again and arriving at breakfast time. They even offered us a late check out :) The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good with lots of croissants, eggs and bacon.

Review 27:The cleaning could/should be better. I've got this really big hair justhanging in towel hang for two days. It eventually felá off, orherwise bythese time it would be there. The breakfast was nothing much. But you get what you've paid for.

Review 28:I got a big corner room with a magnificient sea view. I believe thisroom was the biggest one in the hotel. The location is phenomenal. The staff quite helpful.

Review 29:The lack of a free internet connection in the bedrooms.

Review 30:This refurbished hotel is in an ideal setting. Well appointed in both public areas and the rooms. There is a roof garden for sunbathing and relaxing overlooking the ocean. Breakfast was excellent, copious, varied and good quality. I found that the coffee was good despite other comments to the contrary ! Sao Pedro is a gem, pretty and a little chic with restaurants, cafés, boutiques and a swimming pool. Try this hotel ...you won't be dissapointed.

Review 31:The breakfast is bad. The personal rude. There was no option to get a large bed only twin. You need to pay extra per hour for the sauna. We will never go there again

Review 32:The rooms are fine what you expect from a hotel in the price range. There is free parking in the street

Review 33:No hotel parking, but ample parking is available on the street. No free WiFi, costs 3 euros per hour. Better to buy a USB dongle (stick) for the internet from Optimus Kanguru (1 euro per hour, billed in 5 minute increments).

Review 34:The lunch and evening buffet is excellent value for 15 euros.

Review 35:Simply need bell service for luggage, in light of no parking structure.

Review 36:Loved EVERYTHING... The only 'good' rather than 'excellent,' is for facilities and services. Understandably, in a very small, quaint town, there is no parking structure for the hotel. They could have compensated, however, by providing bell services. Otherwise, what a beautiful hotel and a majestic ocean front town!

Review 37:I have a very specific complaint - and I have had the same complaint since I first visited the hotel 8 years ago. The coffee at breakfast is disgusting; it is simply not drinkable. The coffee machine itself seems to be very expensive, so there must be a problem with the actual coffee (and the milk) that you put in it. Please fix this!!!

Review 38:This was my second visit since the refurbishment, and the hotel continues to be a great place to stay.

Review 39:The hotel has a rooftop bar that is hardly used except on Sundayevenings when they loudly play beach party music 'til 9pm so be preparedand either stay on the beach late or eat out early. The sea is rough -great for surfers but not for swimmers - very vigulant lifesavers onduty all day will stop you trying so do as the locals do and stands inthe shallows to keep cool or use the pool.

Review 40:The view from the sea-facing rooms with balcony was good and worthpaying extra for. A very quiet and peaceful location with no traffic ornoise from nieghbouring properties (but see comment about Sundayevenings). The town/village was attractive and authentic Portuguese andlocal restaurants were all good. The nearby salt-water swimming complexat 5Euros also good. The surrounding area of pine forests and beacheswas exceptionally beautiful and unspoilt.

Review 41:For the price we paid, I had expected the rooms a bit bigger (as theyseem to be in the photos), the bathroom very basic, very small.Breakfast was very basic but it would have been fine if the coffee hadbeen different. The coffee machine desperately needs a change as youcannot swallow the coffee it makes! As an improvement, the hotel might wish to consider having its own bicycles for the hotel guests at some better price (we borrowed the bikes from another hotel in the vicinity but as we were not the guests of that hotel, we had to pay more).

Review 42:Location was excellent, as we had a room with the sea view and abalcony, it gave more space and a beautiful view to the ocean. The hotelis also very close to the beaches, restaurants in the village andeverything you may wish to have. Nice massages. Friendly staff. We madea nice stay there.

Review 43:Like many hotels...they also think that by joining together two single beds they make a double bed :) not true :) hate this in so many hotels!!! :) Apart from that there isn't anything bad to point out.

Review 44:Location is close to the center and with a good sea view. It is pleasent to stay there, not the least expensive place...but not bad considering the offer in S. Pedro de Moel

Review 45:That the spa not was included in the price.

Review 46:The beautiful view from the restaurant and the room. Also the nice surroundings and the good restaurants in sao pedro de Moel.

Review 47:Poor quality coffee, orange juice, fruit, egg and bacon etc. at breakfastdid not make us want to try dinner--expected better for the price. Weupgraded to sea view which was good but much more expensive but we foundout they were charging us same price as for a junior suite. We had muchsmaller room, balcony and shower no bath----they gave us 10% off when wecomplained! Spa very expensive even for sauna and jacuzzi--did not usebecause of this.

Review 48:Location,modern and clean

Review 49:Continental breakfast, could be more wealthy.

Review 50:Hotel is located very close to coast. It is mice hotel with nice rooms and personal is obsequious.

Review 51:Great staff, nice view, very clean rooms, heated bathroom floors, and a pleasent breakfast.

Review 52:Breakfast was not that good.

Review 53:Location and surroundings is lovely. Hotel is good value for money.

Review 54:Dinner wasn't great - overcooked vegetables

Review 55:Location, helpful staff, sea views, good breakfast

Review 56:Restaurant Mattress

Review 57:Location

Review 58:it was to expensive what you got

Review 59:very modern big clean room, breakfast

Review 60:We loved everything about Sao Pedro de Moel especially the hotel however we cannot recommend it as the lack of visitors is its main attraction.

Review 61:Excellent hotel, best location ever and very friendly and excellent Hotel staff and service. I will come back.

Review 62:Nothing

Review 63:Location , value and cleanliness

Review 64:airconditioning in the room not so good

Review 65:location is excellent, roof top bar very good, quiet

Review 66:The blackout was not eficient. Some lights didn't work. Shower waterpulls out of the cabine.

Review 67:Location and price. Staff.

Review 68:Room design a bit low-cost. Breakfasts also low-cost.

Review 69:Stunning ocean views.

Review 70:No coffee making possibilities in the rooms.

Review 71:Close to the orienteering terrains.
