Reviews for Haeundae Grand Hotel
Review 1:They should have an iron box at least in the room, or over night laundry/press service. Most of business travelers reach the prior day night for business meetings, it helps to get suit wrinkles sorted by next morning for meetings.
Review 2:Room facilities are pretty old.. not really bothering though.
Review 3:Staffs are very nice, great service, beautiful lobby, clean room... In general satisfactory
Review 4:massage service cost is expensive, there is no different cusine restaurant for option. breakfast is so so. double room but only 1 key
Review 5:room is quite and clean, lobby is big and good service of staff. room service is good. location is good near beach.
Review 6:I stayed 2 nights in a city- view room which was barely 3 star qualitydue to itt's outdated worn details of the room and bathroom but whenI moved to ocean-view it was much cleaner and more modern as 5 starhotel as they advertised.
Review 7:The staffs were very helpful and friendly.
Review 8:Everything and everyone was great. We love the pool option (esp. for a five year old) and fitness center. The clean rooms and friendly service. The location is great. We would not have added anything more- all done well. A great place to stay.
Review 9:When I arrived and went to my 1st room it wasn't ready and noticed that house keeping did not change the comforter she only changed the sheets and no pillow cases.
Review 10:The staff was very helpful.
Review 11:Nothing we didn't like.
Review 12:We didn't know much about Busan beforehand but once we found out that Haeundae Beach is ultra popular then we could understand its location. It's near a bus stop and a taxi station so either way you're covered for transportation location. We didn't eat there because it looked expensive and there are lots of restaurants nearby.
Review 13:My only qualm was my rooms bathroom would not completely close. It was room 1508. Other than that, the hotel and staff are remarkable.
Review 14:I Loved the hotel itself! It is very beautiful. The staff are the utmost professional. In the evening when the lights are on, there is live piano/violin playing in the lounge where you can enjoy a nice meal or cocktail. What made me realize the beauty of this place is the elevator. It may seem strange but, once you go up it during the day and look out into the ocean and haeundae beach, it just seems so surreal!
Review 15:Sadly, shower curtain smells so smoke and bathroom was kind of out-dated. Because of smoking smell like curtain, it blocked my joy of take a shower.
Review 16:This hotel has the fabulous elevators that enables us to look at the beautiful beach. Staffs were very friendly and helped us whenever we asked things. It's my first time to really enjoy taking a elevator.
Review 17:extremely expensive breakfast (more than a good lunch in town) old rooms needing refurbishment unstable internet
Review 18:the food in the cafeteria in the lobby is of truly superior and unexpected quality very well trained and helpful staff
Review 19:charged to borrow swimming hats for pool, towels much too small in changing rooms, no fresh juice at breakfast buffet
Review 20:comfort of beds, room space, shower power, quality of breakfast buffet, friendly, helpful staff, big swimming pool
Review 21:AC, hard beds, twin size beds
Review 22:Very nice staff with excellent customer service. Breakfast buffet was highlight of the stay (included with executive room). Room was 2 small twin beds instead of queens and the AC wouldn't work...you wouldn't think you would need the AC in December but since you can't open a window in the room you have no way to keep cool without AC.
Review 23:I am a seasoned traveler and this is the only hotel I have ever stayed in that charged me an extra 25% percent for checking in a couple of hours earlier than their standard checking-in time. The rooms are really dated and lack many things travelers need. The breakfast is expensive.
Review 24:The location
Review 25:Bathroom was outdated, air conditioning didn't work in the first room. Bathroom ventilation was poor. Long way from busan Central, 1 hour tube ride to seomyeon
Review 26:Staff were always very friendly and they are very efficient. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds, near the beach. Swimming facilities.
Review 27:The reception is not being specific enough in check in procedures, resulting in misunderstanding and wanted to charge us extra for checking in but didn't say that clear enough in the beginning.
Review 28:Everything is great but......
Review 29:The beds were HARD. Very, very hard. Definitely not expected from a 5-star hotel. The city view room was okay; we could see the mountains in the background, and they were really nice. However, I did ask for a sea view room upon check-in (I knew they were available), and the representative said, "you should have paid for it"...perhaps it was a language thing, but if the room is available, why not just negotiate the price...more money and business for the hotel and a better view for me and my friend? The carpet in the room is extremely old and needs replacing. It brought down the overall look of an otherwise nice room. The temperature in the room was not good at all--it was hot the entire time. We tried to fix the temperature, and then the next day we asked for help, but the room never got cool at all. The internet worked, but again, only after we asked for it to be fixed. It also would have been nice to have a power adapter in the room already without asking. However, once the room is closed, all power is off. So we weren't able to charge items while we were gone--becomes a big problem when traveling. Again, these are things we expect from five star hotels. When I travel, I don't want to constantly be on the phone asking for things that I'm used to having in this type of hotel. At the bar in the hotel lobby, I asked for "apple juice". The waitress mentioned something about 'fresh squeezed', which I had no problem. I saw her put some cut apples into a blender/machine. Then I received a bill for 16,000 KRW for the juice. o_O Totally unacceptable.
Review 30:The hotel lobby is vast, luxurious, and well lit. There was a pianist playing in the lobby, and it was a nice environment to enjoy after a long day of traveling and sight seeing. The Grand Hotel is well known in the area; the taxi driver was able to get us to the hotel without any confusion or questions. It shows up on all the cute tourist maps as well. It's located directly on the strip of the beach, with some elevator views of the beach and the small cliffs near The Westin. It's a short walk to restaurants, the beach, clubs, and even some shopping--although the shopping is only duty free...so people who live in Korea can only look, but not touch. The hotel reps are very nice, but not overly helpful. I think it may be due to limited language. Based on all of these things, this hotel would be great to be marketed as a 3.5-star or even a 4-star hotel, but definitely not five star.
Review 31:Rude and not Welcoming staff. Poor english. The swimming pool and gym are not free...however they advertise free air for bath rings and rental of empty picnic basket...
Review 32:Nice comfy rooms. Close to beach.
Review 33:The bathroom has some mold on the wall of the bathroom, they should clean it professionally as a five star Hotel. Other than that, It was a five star Hotel.
Review 34:This hotel was fancy, cozy and beautiful. The hotel has a huge and beautiful tea shop and restaurant. The view from the window side is worth of staying.
Review 35:NOT RENOVATED ROOMS, not really a 5 stars unless you have a renovated bedroom, sanitaries too old
Review 36:LOCATION
Review 37:Room old design
Review 38:Friendly staff
Review 39:Rooms are outdated and need modernising, pillows awful!
Review 40:Reception, Foyer, Modern and classy, location is excellent
Review 41:The toilet in the room looks old and dingy....guess it's Timur For the management to refurbish their rooms
Review 42:Nothing
Review 43:Pool
Review 44:However, when I visited in summer, the service was worst in everywhere.
Review 45:When I visited a few month ago for academic conference, the service was great.
Review 46:Air conditioning could cool better
Review 47:Good hotel with an awesome view
Review 48:room carpet was very dirty
Review 49:Location and room service
Review 50:good location
Review 51:comfort bed , modern hotel
Review 52:Price/Value
Review 53:Slow elevator
Review 54:Free sauna, breakfast and dinner buffet included in the family room
Review 55:Proximity of location to various area
Review 56:The bathrooms need renovation
Review 57:It's was a nice experience, the location is fantastic, the services are excellent
Review 58:Too expensive, not value for money
Review 59:Location and decor
Review 60:Location
Review 61:The staff.
Review 62:Not located at the center of the beach and restaurants
Review 63:Old hotel but with big size room
Review 64:breakfast was too expensive for what was offered
Review 65:spacious room, hotel close to the beach
Review 66:Hotel seemed a bit dated. Room safes can be lifted out of room (not bolted down)
Review 67:Clean Spacious
Review 68:The drinks and cakes were too expensive.
Review 69:The view was fantastic. The room excellent, clean, spacious and the beds very comfortable. We slept very well. The entertainment was enjoyable.
Review 70:Possibly the very worst 5star hotel swimming pool that I have seen so far Expensive breakfast which´s quality is definitely not justifying the price
Review 71:Great location
Review 72:The bathroom door cannot be closed, the telephone is out of order in the room. The hotel should have better maintenance in the room.
Review 73:The view of the Beach view room is good. Hotel location is very convenience. Just one minute walk to haeundae beach and few miunute walk to APEC house and around 10 minutes to metro station. The staff in reception are nice.
Review 74:The swimming is not a free facility. The design is a bit old fashion. No exchange service for Hong Kong Dollars. No shuttle bus service provided to nearby subway station, Centum City with a 5-star grade hotel. Their wi-fi is not strong enough.
Review 75:It close to beach, and Apec.
Review 76:I didn't like that staff did not speak English very well. The restrooms were in need of remodeling along with the rooms itself. We received an actual key to unlock room cute but very outdated.
Review 77:I loved the entrance of the hotel. First thoughts makes one think this is a five star hotel. I loved the size of the rooms.
Review 78:Supplied water to cook tea was, with one mini bottle for two people, a bit at the low end.
Review 79:Impressive entrance hall, spacious room with sea view. Friendly staff. Good location. Nothing to complain!
Review 80:Amazing location, Foyer of the Hotel is really spacious and impressive, the reception staff were so courtious and friendly, the room was spacious and well equiped
Review 81:Nothing made my staying feel bad or having a single observation against the hotel.
Review 82:What's not to like, the rooms, facilities, staff, near to the beath location, internet, the price , the view and again the staff
Review 83:Overall the rooms are ok, but there are are some unnerving details; E.G.when turning off the "room" button, which cuts all lights, thepower supply is cut as well, so if you wanted to recharge your phoneduring the night, it wouldn't work.another thing was the water faucet: someone had the bright idea to reverse the direction in which the faucet bar typically opens, so every time i wished to increase the pressure or change the temperature, my gesture resulted in the faucet being closed; the light in the bathroom is very weak, especially in the bathtub. the revolving door at the main entrance remained closed for unknown reasons during my entire stay (4 nights); while walking in the lobby from the main entrance to the reception desk in order to picj up my room key, someone from the staff would every time intercept me with "how can i help you, sir?", as if they were seeing me for the first time, which made me feel like intruding; don't know why they need to do that; i was under the impression that they wanted to bar access to non-guests to the guest rooms
Review 84:1. The attitude of the staff at the reception & check out was poor. I guess they do not understand the meaning of the word " hospitality ". 2. The restaurant staff were poor in English. 3. Poor choice of TV channels in English.
Review 85:1. The concierge staff were good. 2. Staff & service at the coffee shop was good.
Review 86:The place is so big that it is difficult to find things. The pool is really dated and in desperate need of an upgrade. I also didnt like that it is not included in hotel price.
Review 87:I liked the bedding. I also liked the classic feel.
Review 88:In the swimming pool only one or two line is free for hotel members. Others was occupied by child and swimming school
Review 89:Good location in the best place of Busan
Review 90:The price was to high for a single traveller. Also I believe the price changed on Booking.com at the last minute so I wasn't in time to get a reduction in my rate. Not good value for money.
Review 91:I enjoyed the location of the Hotel - near Haeundae Beach.
Review 92:* arrived at 22.10. No one helped me with my luggage from the taxi to the reception. They staied inside. * The lounge is under refurbishment and no information was given in booking.com. A lot of noise due to it and no place to receive and talk with persons, unless a bar. * rooms are not 5 stars and bathrooms need refurbishment.
Review 93:I did not have a good feeling with this hotel since my arrival. The only thing I could appreciate is the location, just cross the raod and are on the beach. Unfortunately, the bad weather did not give good chance to sunbathe or going to the beach
Review 94:I did not like the fact that some of the hotel amenities were not included in the cost of the stay. As expensive as this hotel was at the least the swimming could have been free.
Review 95:The location was great. Close to the beach and a short walk away from the attractions.
Review 96:Cost must be mentioned I suppose...
Review 97:Everything but the location was slightly far from any means oftransportation besides taxi (of which there is always at least onewaiting); just that little bit too far (to be bothered) to walk to thesubway, and even further to any beaches. Mind you, the view you get fromthe ocean view room (mine was 18th floor) is superb! Also, it must besaid the swimming pool is excellently designed and gives a nice feelingof serenity.
Review 98:We thought it was mean-spirited that hotel residents were charged extra to use the swimming pool and leisure facilities and we did not receive advance notice of this additional charge. Being there for a short stay we decided not to bother with the pool and just went and paddled on the free and very nice beach across the road instead, but it would work out quite expensive for people and especially families staying longer. We also had to ask for the English language TV channels to be switched on as they were not available (although advertised) when we arrived.
Review 99:Our room was lovely, very comfortable and clean, surprisingly spacious and had a beautiful sea view as promised. It was very nice to be able to sit and have a coffee with table and chairs at the window. The hotel atrium and glass lifts were very modern and impressive.
Review 100:The room is not worth 225,000 won. You are paying for location. The beds are small and need new mattresses.
Review 101:You cannot beat the location. Across from beach and restaurants up and down the street. Nice night club in hotel called the Hive. Played a lot of techno music.
Review 102:The view used to be even better before that hotel was built which blocksoff most of the view to the left side of the beach. Of course, there's nothing they could have done about that.
Review 103:Free cable internet. Excellent view. Good room. Excellent servicefrom staff.
Review 104:Many staff do not speak English when such hotel has many international travelers. The breakfast is bad compared to other 4-5 star hotels including Westin Chosun Hotel across the street.
Review 105:The bed is very comfortable. The front desk answers the calls promptly. They made changes quickly to make customers happy.
Review 106:I didn't like that the hotel is advertised as having a pool when infact it is a community pool that even guests have to pay to use.
Review 107:The location is perfect!! Rooms are very comfortable and offeramazing views.
Review 108:Big swimming pool 4 flor not so good
Review 109:Spa/relaxation very good Forgotten my sunglasses in 1618,put themin reseption and Ill pick them up later.thanks. Bufe very good, fishsuchi mmm!
Review 110:Not worth the money. People smoking in bathrooms so it comes into yourroom. Beds were small. Breakfast was not worth it. Foreign friendly butnot friendly to foreigners.
Review 111:Location.
Review 112:Old doors.
Review 113:Location and comfort beds.
Review 114:Why wouldbt y let people check ib a little early? 2 o'clock seems so late and we had to pay extra for 1 hour chekc out
Review 115:Good location.
Review 116:Location is great. Staff is very friendly.
Review 117:hotel is currently being refurbished it misses a cosy bar
Review 118:close to the beach friendly staff
Review 119:Rooms and bathrooms are a bit dated
Review 120:Location and lobby
Review 121:Raining one day
Review 122:Close to the Beach. Many food places in surrounding area, western and korean. Large and clean room
Review 123:coffee shop/bakery ..service was slow..Lack of staff
Review 124:Food was excellent
Review 125:Nothing.
Review 126:Staff are amazing and fast in preparing rooms. The sea view is nice. And it is near Busan aquarium, and good restaurants.
Review 127:No little window could be opened to let fresh air going in
Review 128:Clean and well decorated
Review 129:the room is quite comfortable and the view of the hotel is quite good
Review 130:location, bed room, washroom
