Reviews for Hotel Valkenhof

Review 1:Steep stairs with no elevator

Review 2:Beautiful central location in a nice quite village 10 minutes train away from Maastricht, good food, large pedestrian area with lots of reataurants, value for money

Review 3:But the small room is extremly small, without clima, refrigerator, wardrobe. There is no reception only bar. Smell food through window, the stairs ate very steep.

Review 4:The location is really good.

Review 5:Very noisy in the weekend. Music outside till 2 a.m. Price at arrival was more expensive than booked. Arranged over there without a problem.

Review 6:Nice decoration. Clean.

Review 7:It was too warm in the restaurant due to the heater, candles and fireplaces all going at the same time.

Review 8:Great location, friendly staff, the best spareribs, basic but comfortable rooms and the restaurant with several fireplaces has a cosy atmosphere.

Review 9:Room was small, very steep narrow stairs, more than one flight, and no wardrobe to hang any clothes, only a rack in a non ventilated bathroom toilet

Review 10:Location, restaurant

Review 11:We liked the position right in the centre of town and close to everything and parking is close by. After 10pm the town is very quiet so it's easy to sleep. The staff are really nice and always happy to help. The food in the restaurant was beautiful with really quick service.

Review 12:No kitchen ware (pots and pans) but were arranged when solicited.

Review 13:The ambiance, the decor was absolutely lovely. the personnel was attentive and nice. the apartment was big and charming

Review 14:- Due to the location (middle of town centre) very noisy in the night, lots of bars/restaurant around with parties and loud guests - Very narrow dark staircase, no lift - I'm not sure what bugs were they (flea, bed bug) but during the 2 nights we spent there I got ca. 150 bites/stings on my legs/arms/shoulders. They are itching like hell. I'm hoping very much that we didn't bring them home. - No private parking space were available but it can be due to the Andre Rieu concert - WiFi was OK but keeps dropping off

Review 15:Delicious breakfast

Review 16:No lobby, checkin at restaurant bar; walk past diners at restaurant to checkin; need to walk a awhile from car parking area to hotel.

Review 17:Location, view from room, value, surprisingly quiet, breakfast

Review 18:steep stairs. Has safety gates for children

Review 19:Room to entertain a small gathering.

Review 20:Lack of drawers to put clothes

Review 21:Everything it was just perfect

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:Great apartment with plenty of room. Would definitely go again

Review 24:The value for money, the room was great and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly, skilled and helpful

Review 25:Very difficult to locate hotel & parking not easy to find.

Review 26:The room was reasonable but had no air conditioning difficult to get to sleep

Review 27:no parking and having to walk through restaurant with luggage

Review 28:Location

Review 29:Stairs to apartment were quite steep.

Review 30:Convenient train station. Food amazing. Great local beers.

Review 31:There is no parking near the hotel. You have to walk in the restaurant to get to your room.

Review 32:Designed rooms. Located in the center

Review 33:Very nice staff

Review 34:Amazing location right in the center of town. Vibrant atmosphere.

Review 35:Tiny room Noisy Horrible bed and pillows

Review 36:Location was great, in the middle of the main street filled with restaurants

Review 37:No nearby parking.

Review 38:Nice and comfortable place to stay

Review 39:'s nachts geluid van de terrassen

Review 40:The room was tiny, on the 3rd floor without elevator. Cheap, you get what you pay for

Review 41:the location is excellent, right in the centre of the village. The breakfast was OK. A cheap hotel;

Review 42:small things that do not properly work e.g. thermostatic tap shower, no toilet roll holder anymore, missing light bulbs in bath room. the very small and steep stairs to climb, literally, into the room on the level between first and second, which is actually under the roof. the views at the back are not nice (huge extractor fan, rubbish, metal chimney pipes), hard to reach roof windows and no private parking. it's a paying public parking nearby the pedestrian zone in which the restohotel lies. ask for the parking address before arriving.

Review 43:room A2 is a quite big apartment with 2 double bedrooms, a big bathroom and 2 sofa's with coffee and tea facilities and a microwave. quietly located under the castle ruines which you can see from the room windows. excellent offer for the price and nice breakfast. v stylish decorations in the room and in the hotel and restaurant

Review 44:Steep stairs, not safe for elder people. Inside the apartment more stairs. The door height to the bedroom is dangerously low followed by more stairs, I banged my head twice. The bathroom is too dim. The breakfast is very limited in choice and only from 9-10 o'clock. but they didn't mind delaying the layout for us, and that was nice of them. No hair-dryer and no iron, but when we asked they brought them.

Review 45:Location is right on the pedestrian area were all the restaurants and cafes are. The castle is just behind the hotel.

Review 46:No lift. In a no parking/driving zone so parking was at a different hotel about 250 mtrs. at 8.5 euro/night.

Review 47:Ribs were excellent. Plenty of room to sit, Inside and out. Close to local tourist spots and short walk to train station. Owners and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by.

Review 48:Excellent hotel, staff friendly and attentive, room spacious, clean, and comfortable and location right in town......brilliant. Great value for money, would book again.

Review 49:Load music from the bars and clubs around, no closet, no hair dryer. One of the bedrooms had almost no windows (small window near the floor). Сeiling has signs of leakage.

Review 50:Hotel is located near the castle, in the middle of old center. Hotel has its charm, since it is furnished like old house. Breakfast was fine.

Review 51:really nothing enough to mention

Review 52:The owners and staff were amazing and the location could not have been better. Get off the train walk to the center, towards the castle and there it is! Food was good as well. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The people in the town were especially kind and helpful. A nice place to visit.

Review 53:Sharp stairs to the appartment. No parking space next to the hotel but a bout 50 meters there are public parking spaces with free weekend and evening parking.

Review 54:Superb breakfast. The destination a few meeters under the castle was excellent. In the middle of the center of town with a lot of pubs and restaurants. A lot of space in appartment that we have.

Review 55:There was one small flaw with the wifi which was not available

Review 56:It was a beautiful hotel, the staff were very helpful and kind. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Review 57:That breakfast is normally only between 9-10 am, that's nice during a weekend, but not during the week.

Review 58:Breakfast is only between 9-10 am, but since I had to leave early, they arranged an early breakfast for me including coffee, orange juice, warm paninis and an egg.

Review 59:not many taxi's in the town

Review 60:excellent welcome lovely large apartment room excellent restaurant in hotel big portions. The included breakfast was continental but all fresh produce excellent choices of breads close to all Tourist attractions castle catacoombes casino terme2000 grooto museum shopping Many restaurants and cafe bars to sit and people watch a fairytale town

Review 61:The bath room was very small. The sink was hanging over the toilet so you couldn´t sit properly on the toilet, nor could you dry yourself comfortly after having had a shower. Further needed the bathroom a good make-over. It was very old with cracks in the tiles. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special The hotel is a big restaurant with terrace and you got the feeling that the hotel was a by-line, not their main priority.

Review 62:The service off the staff, the location in the centre, the walhalla.

Review 63:center of the town, many restaurants around the hotels

Review 64:Great location and excellent food and service at restaurant.

Review 65:The breakfast buffet was a bit poor, a choice between cheese and pork.

Review 66:Friendly staff.

Review 67:Perfect :-) Friendly staff, candles, fireplace, very cosy and romantic place.

Review 68:I asked for an early breakfast twice, I even phoned them about it theday before and all was alright, unfortunately they forgot about it....

Review 69:Steep stairs to room is awkward with heavy luggage.

Review 70:Excellent restaurant.

Review 71:Nice restaurant, good location
