Reviews for Hotel Molino
Review 1:It was the best accommodation we had during our whole stay in Morocco. The manager is really nice and helpful we got some tea when we arrived and he even got us our bus tickets to our next destination. They have a lovley garden and the breakfast there is also worth trying. We definitely recommend this place.
Review 2:The next door mosque can be a little loud at 6 in the morning.
Review 3:There has been work done since staying at the hotel 2 years ago. The staffer, Bellal, was extremely helpful.
Review 4:The staffs are really nice and always offer you tea and coffee. The hotel has excellent location and is itself very lovely with all the decoration. And you will fall in love with their cats!
Review 5:None bad experience coming into my mind , so I don't think I did had any bad experience .
Review 6:Beautiful rooms , garden, available kitchen to use, family and cozy ornaments/environment hotel
Review 7:Cats liked to enter our room, we liked it but for people with allergy can be a problem
Review 8:Best breakfast till now, nice staff, super beautiful, amazing price
Review 9:A bit hard to find.
Review 10:Great place to stay. Very beautiful spacious rooms. They also offer you heating, which is basically great. The breakfast is good. Upon request and a small fee they can wash your clothes.
Review 11:- the house is very charming - welcome with mint tea - and the best: helpful staff (bought us bus tickets, met us in the bus station, called taxi... everything we needed they supported us, very kind and not hassle at all).
Review 12:I like soft pillows and no one has them anywhere.
Review 13:I especially liked the room I had which was not only very blue coloured, but also very eccentric in shapes and spaces. The staff were helpful just when you needed them, as opposed to too present.
Review 14:Could get a bit noisy sometimes, but earplugs should do the trick.
Review 15:Very cute rooms and well taken care of, friendly and smiley staff with a good sense of humour. The location is just perfect, we had a car and the parking is just 2 minutes away, plus its cheap. The mosque is right next door, but don't be alarmed- the sweetest voice you'll hear in Morocco :)
Review 16:Virus on PC :-) Do not put your card from the camera to the PC. Toilet with shower shared for all - often occupied.
Review 17:Accommodation in traditional style. Very helpful staff. Beautiful surrounding with terrace and botanical garden An oasis of tranquility in a beautiful part of town. Kitchen available plus additional services of personnel - breakfast, coffee tea ... Wi Fi excellent quality. I highly recommend it.
Review 18:Cats everywhere. No breakfest To close to mosque prayers wake you up at 5.30. The door locks are not working well Only 1 bathroom for all guest rooms
Review 19:Garden Flare In the medina
Review 20:It is a very nice hotel...comfortable,good embiance, very firendly and clean. It is well situated, very quiet, good water from the tap. You can prepare your own meal. The will go the extra mile for you and you can trust them. Good breakfast.
Review 21:It's so nice they had all their rooms booked, so when we decided to extend our stay we could only get a room with shared bathroom...
Review 22:Very lovely hotel, it has some really nice rooms and garden, friendly patient & helpful staff. I will stay there again if I ever go back to chefchaouen.
Review 23:The hotel is noisy, the mosque is really close to the hotel and during the night it is a nightmare :). The beds are not so good, and we found two cockroach into the room
Review 24:The staff is amazing, kind and very helpful. The location is good, inside the media and outside of the crowd
Review 25:Room very cold in the night which I didn't expect, I booked a private bathroom but the bathroom was just outside my room.usually this is no bigdeal but my room door was difficult to close.I had to either lock it completely or it would swing wide open.plus since my room was on the roof, sometimes people would be sitting there and it was awkward to use my own bathroom..like I could not simply walk out in my underwear, which was the whole point of booking a private bathroom in the first place. One other thing which is not the hotel's fault but it is hard to sleep cause small boys are all around playing outside and very very noisy.the mosque will also wake you up and I saw people complain about this and thout it is silly.I lived in the middle east before and used to this but the mosque here is super loud..they must have good speakers. The wifi was terrible which I usually would not care about.but I had an emergency and needed it and it was a hassle
Review 26:design of hotel and rooms very nice, good area, staff is pretty good, security guy at night in case you need anything....clean hotel, just beautiful and good price.
Review 27:internet could be quite weak in the last top level.
Review 28:Each member of the staff was like a family member, they were the best hotel staff i have ever met so far (Yasmine, bilal, Yassin, Fatema & Awatef, all of them). Very comfortable rooms, the garden is beautiful for having your tea or coffee there.. I totally would suggest people to go there if you are looking for a cozy feeling.. Location was good as well..
Review 29:The mosque next door makes a very loud and long morning prayer call. It will wake you up every time.
Review 30:The garden is beautiful. The view of the mountain was lovely. The overall old world charm Hotel Molino offers is simply memorable. Great location, as it is close to the square and hidden in many blue alleys.
Review 31:The smell of the sewage was coming out of the bathroom, and it was too strong and disturbing. Additionally, the WiFi was not available in the rooms, contrary to what was advertised.
Review 32:We were given a very spacious room. The location was also great.
Review 33:Very nice clean place. Has all the basics. Easy to find and close to everything with a touch of solitude. You'll find out when you get there. Good value. Very nice people.
Review 34:nothing at all
Review 35:It's a good place to relax your mind, hotel location is not bad its in the old medina just little walk you come to the famous souika ......
Review 36:Excellent location right at the edge of the medina. Lovely garden to get some rest after strolling the lively medinas. Personnel was very friendly and helpful as we ate something wrong at the main square, not the hotel). (they walked with me to a pharmacy, brought us tea). the wifi is not great; android devices get an error and cant connect. laptop worked
Review 37:The Hostal Molino is beautiful and very confortable. Grate location because the river is five minuts walking and it is in old city near of famous square and the shops. The staf people was very friendly, and we has been a grate stay here.
Review 38:location is difficult to find and difficult to get to with heavy luggage. Arrive with portable luggage and find a local kid to guide you to the hotel and it is easily overcome. The hotel and medina in general is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.
Review 39:The location was superb for exploring the medina and local attractions. The staff were extremely helpful.
Review 40:Very nice place to stay. The room is clean and big. Good patio where you can relax. Staff is just great, very kind and helpful (and speak Spanish perfectly). They even got us the bus tickets from the bus station and called other hostels to change the reservation (because we wanted to stay one night more!!)
Review 41:There's no parking on site (despite stated so on booking.com). You must be very careful when paying for the "parking guard" - most probably they will try to charge you for it at arrival and then again at departure (different persons, who "do not know each other"). Our tip is to pay only at arrival and ignore the guy who wants the money from you at departure - we did so and it works.
Review 42:Great location, very nice room, beautiful terrace.
Review 43:The staff always went out of their way to help us. My boyfriend got sick the day before we arrived and one of the staff members went to his house and made him a tea that made him feel so much better. The gardens are beautiful, I had the most relaxing time with the cats while my boyfriend got better.
Review 44:Toilet and shower floor could be cleaned more often but no bigging
Review 45:The staff tried to be as helpful as they could be. The girls did a good job of cleaning bedroom each day
Review 46:The only negatives are the hard beds (but that's normal in Morocco), and the fact that there is a mosque right next door so don't count on uninterrupted sleep .... Also, our bathroom was not actually ensuite but right next to the room (it was still private and not used by anyone else though).
Review 47:Wonderfully layed-out and decorated hotel, a very cute and funky room, clean, friendly staff, excellent and quiet location on the edge of the medina and close to the mountains and waterfall. The hotel also has a lovely botanical garden with seats. Our room was on the rooftop terrace, which gave us great views as well as a lot of privacy. We haven't tried breakfast in the hotel, because you can eat so well and cheap on Plaza Uta el-Hammam. All in all: definitely recommended and a great price-quality ratio!
Review 48:Too many flies (?) in the morning and midday. They don't reallybother you much, but might annoy some, and they're just gone by thenight. Although the location is great, finding them at first was achallenge. Thank goodness the locals seem to know it, and showed us theplace (but we separated in two groups, the other group took a bit longerwalk within the shoplots to finally reach it)
Review 49:The interior is so Chefchaouen-cliched (everything was blue), and weloved it! Looks like you're in a Ghibli film. We took the top mostroom for four. Once we got a hang of the confusing street, the locationwasn't so bad, the shops, mosques were nearby. The staff wasfriendly and very helpful young men, helped us with our heavyluggage... The cheap prices in Chaouen makes us shop a little bit morethan we needed.
Review 50:Bathroom is tiny.
Review 51:Great location - quiet and peaceful, but only a short walk from everything; kitchen facilities to do your own cooking; lovely, peaceful garden.
Review 52:- nice, warm room with window looking on the mountains and garden, - beautiful garden were U can seat, drink, read a book, relax:), - communal kitchen, really handy when U buy staff on the market and want to cook or squeeze fresh orange juice, - Bilal was a great host, nice, friendly, nothing was to much for Him, - will stay again there when in Chefchaouen:)))
Review 53:Hotel Molino is such a beautiful little oasis. There is a huge garden to enjoy and sunny outdoor areas and terraces to relax on. It feels like you are at home. There is a kitchen where you can cook your own meals if you like and the staff are always offering tea or coffee. And the hotel itself is beautiful, with plants and blue rooms with lovely decorations. The staff are so helpful and went out of their way to help us have a wonderful trip. Thanks so much for all the help and the wonderful stay!
Review 54:I Loved everything about this little hotel, the staff are wonderful and can speak great English. It is a small comfy hotel on the far edge of the Medina near to the waterfall but easy to find with a direct walk to the central square. I liked hearing the call to prayer early in the morning but some people might not. when you first arrive you can always get a taxi for around 10 dirhams and then a short walk to the hotel. This is until you get used to the walk into the central square. it is very close to the river and waterfall area and there are some wonderful areas to discover close by. I loved it here and will come back soon to this hotel.
Review 55:I hate to complain about this, but the mosque that this hotel was by, was very loud and would wake us up around 5:30 every morning. My partner started sleeping through it, but I kept waking up from it.
Review 56:The staff was very helpful. The hotel had a nice garden with views of the hillside. The location of the hotel was also in good proximity to the markets.
Review 57:People welcomed us like family. Everybody there was making us like part of it, we could share a mint tea anytime in the day or night with staf and had talks. They drove us really well in all things to enjoy in the city. Relaxed and warm people, so good souvenir :)
Review 58:The call to prayer is very loud in the morning, but you live with it. The boys who run the place are generally very helpful, but behave like you would expect teenagers to. Toilet and showers weren't that convenient, but it is a cheap room.
Review 59:We took the charmingly rustic downstairs room which had views of the cat strewn pergola through four alcove windows and the garden beyond. Located in the west of the medina, you have easy access to the river and town. Everywhere is within easy walking distance. Use of the kitchen meant we could squeeze our own orange juice, make coffee and pick up beautiful pastries from the cooperative bakery. Breakfast is available here, despite what is advertised.
Review 60:Everything, location, pretty blue cottage, friendly manager and you could not ask for more. Been all over Morocco but felt at home in Chefchaouene, highly recommended for any travellers.
Review 61:The bed was not very comfortable and the toilet situation was not good. there was no shower area, I mean the shower was right in front of the toilet with no separation or curtains or bathtub so you would take a shower and wet the whole bathroom, so it was a bit of a downer. Having said that I would still recommend this place as we had a good stay there.
Review 62:Lovely place to stay in. Very nice and helpful staff, willing to go the extra mile to help you. Good breaksfast with bread, eggs, fresh orange juice, pastries, etc. (is not included on thr price but it was really cheap and totally worth it) good location, a bit difficult to find like any other place in Morocco, but lovely in general terms. There are heaters in the rooms so no problem if it gets cold, and the rooms are very colorful and nicely decorated just like in the pics, there is enough space for two people.even though there was no closet in our room. Overall, a great experience. There are a couple of things that could be better, but we were quite happy with our stay at Hotel Molino.
Review 63:nothing
Review 64:That was my favorite place in Morocco! There is a nice sharing kitchen and not city tax. Staff was great and the offer us a tea. The garden of the hotel is a must seen. I recommend this hotel also because of the amazing interior design!!!!
Review 65:Such a beautiful and stunning hotel! Great gardens and cute and clean rooms. Super friendly staff who helped us with absolutely everything- from going to the waterfall to booking our bus to Tangier! Awesome location- would definitely recommend this place to my friends
Review 66:I wondered how often the blanket is washed. There was a clean sheet between the blanket and bed, so it was not a big problem. A little bit dusty.
Review 67:The hostel was so lovely with nice furniture. The terrace was relaxing.
Review 68:Everything was great.
Review 69:The staff were very friendly and spoke English. The place was also very well furnished. There is a kitchen for budget travellers who like to cook, and also a washing machine to wash your clothes. WiFi was also strong in our room. Amongst all our hotel in Morocco, this hotel has the best heater that keeps the room warm at all times. The terrace is also a must visit, both in the day and night. In the day you get a mountainous view, and at night you see a starry sky. The staff were also generous in providing refreshing mint tea!
Review 70:No private bathroom, the mosque is nearby, so be ready to hear the prayer early in the mornng for about 30 min. Anyway, I recommend this place!
Review 71:It is a nice house with a great green garden, small terrace, kitchen. In December it was warm, were no problems with hot water.
Review 72:Prayer calls can be easily heard at 5:30am. Although we didn't mind being woken by this as they are beautiful sounding and we came to Morocco to experience the culture.
Review 73:Friendly helpful staff. The garden is gorgeous with lovely seating outside under a pagoda with grape vines. There is a communal kitchen. We kept adding extra nights to our booking as we enjoyed it so much. When they didn't have room we were upgraded to a penthouse suite at the owners friend's hotel. Wifi was great and available in rooms, fastest we've had!
Review 74:Great location. Comfortable facilities and room. Staff were extremely kind and helpful. The garden is beautiful, and the tea is delicious. Would definitely recommend.
Review 75:The room and a whole hotel itself are really beautiful. We traveled in november aтв it was quiet cold inside, but the heater was provided such as warm blankets, so it was warm! Several cats live in a hotel and like to communicate) It's nice) We also liked the staff. They are family and speak french, spanish and english, so you can always find the way to communicate. Breakfast was not included, but once we paid 25 dirhams each and got an omlet, toasts, butter, jam and coffee, that the staff prepared. I definitely recommend the hotel to travelers!
Review 76:-Shared shower and toilet were down steep stairs… one for all shared rooms and staff. -Stoned staff promising to help out, get a taxi, show us things then forgetting. -Polyester sheets
Review 77:-Great view from room -Location in Medina -Quiet
Review 78:It was perfect!
Review 79:This was the perfect getaway from Casablanca. The hotel is very Moroccan with a lot of character. The garden for breakfast and for relaxing seems a world away. We will be back again and again. The young man who owns it has a very interesting story to tell. The manager took us and should us places to eat. A very happy experience!
Review 80:Very charming place with beautiful garden and a very relaxed atmosphere. Nice and helpful staff, very comfortable rooms and a great location in the medina.
Review 81:Very homely little hotel with an amazing backyard garden which is perfect for hiding from the heat or having breakfast. Everything is very clean and well maintained, our room was comfortable and beautifully designed. Very helpful staff! Will definitely come back for a longer stay there.
Review 82:Bed was uncomfortable. Wifi was spotty.
Review 83:Great location, good service, the brothers are very, very hospitable and kind. They will go out of their way for you. They will share their food with you. It's a quaint place with great design features. The garden is worthy to be in a mansion. Beautiful place. Lovely kitties everywhere.
Review 84:Linings were not totally clean (common in Morocco budget hotels)
Review 85:Good location near the central square, nice decoration, good tip for a local restaurant, beautiful garden
Review 86:Set within the medina walls, the location of Hotel Molino Garden is ideal for exploring the village or heading into the mountains. We stayed here for 14 nights and the general hustle and bustle of a place like Chefchaouen is something to get used to, the relaxed atmosphere and helpful staff of Molino was very positive. Hotel Molino has a beautiful garden which is an ideal place to escape the heat and relax. We also had a roof terrace which was excellent and had wonderful views of the mountains and the Spanish mosque. I can't wait to return, our first trip to Morocco was made magical by Hotel Molino Garden and Bilal and his team. Thanks for a great stay.
Review 87:One cleaning lady (the taller one) is noisy and impertinent.
Review 88:The garden is truly wonderful. The manager is very friendly and helpful: and gave us home cooked food. Despite the lack of air-conditioning, the room is not uncomfortably hot.
Review 89:Mosque is close to the hotel so got woken up by the call to prayer but wasn't too much of an issue.
Review 90:Great location just 5 minutes walk from square and waterfalls. Easy to walk into the mountains from the hotel. Hotel was lovely and traditional with a garden and pond out back and a kitchen that could be used by guests.
Review 91:Very cosy and relaxed atmosphere, the garden is really beautiful and a great place to just chill out. The staff is amazing and so helpfull. We got sick and needed medical care and Bilal went with us to the hospital and made sure we felt safe and comfortable the whole time. I would definitely recommend Molino to anyone going to Chefchaouen!
Review 92:Only one bathroom to share among all guests.
Review 93:Location was excellent and the staff were very polite and helpful.
