Reviews for Agriturismo Fattoria Voltrona
Review 1:-no wi-fi and no TV in the room but who needs them anyway in this paradise?
Review 2:-stunning place with a fabulous view -warm and quiet place just perfect for relaxation -free parking and good breakfast
Review 3:Dinner service was a bit slow but not too bad! Noise level traveled at night if other guests came in late.
Review 4:Friendly staff with a farm style environment. Lovely view for dinner sitting and food was good! Very close to San Gimignano which was awesome old city worth a visit!
Review 5:The fattoria is very well located close to San gigmiano, although you need a car to reach it. The wifi only works in common areas but you will be advised. The food and the serve was really great and they are very attentive and make your stay very special!
Review 6:Bad gravel road to access the Fattoria We had a rather small and dark room (no window!), probably because of our dog.
Review 7:Well situated to explore the Chianti region Good facilities: bar / restaurant / swimming pool / airco / WIFI Nice surrounding with lovely vineyards
Review 8:The air conditioning in the room didn't work and the ventilator was broken, with 38 degrees outside b we didn't sleep very well because of this
Review 9:The place and view is beautiful
Review 10:Stunning surrounding and pools, breakfast was various and generous. Staffs are so friendly and helpful. The location is great (if you hire a car) We will definitely going back there again.
Review 11:Dust access road, but it's a farm so it's a part of the deal. Air conditioning didn't work.
Review 12:A nice calm place, beautiful landscape, two pools. Would recommend if you're not into big crowds of tourists.
Review 13:The dirt road to the agriturismo was a bit rough and long. Also requested balcony room 6 months in advance and still was not given one.
Review 14:Eating breakfast on the beautiful terrace was incredible! A swim in the pool in the vineyard was a special treat.
Review 15:The controller of the air-condition is missing, so when it is cold in the evening, there's no way to heat the room; the heater for the bath room also stop work, so it is ot comfortable when taking shower.
Review 16:The room was big with a lot space; the garden outside the room was beautiful. it is great view from the window of the room. Breakfast is OK.
Review 17:Unlike many other is writing estate is very easy to find: pass P1 in San Gimignano, drive few kilometers to San Donato (only few houses near main road) and there is already sign to Voltrona. Then 1,6 km of "white road", dirty bumpy road and there you are. I hate this road :), but i managed to passed it and forget it as soon i came to property. Staff is very helpful and friendly, food is great, wine is great, place is great, quiet, peacefull. You can also buy wine from their farm. There are many option to explore (San Gimignano, Certaldo few kilometers far, Voltera about 20). Location is perfect for families with younger children as there are many animals on the farm, zero traffic and huge property to play. In my next stay in San Gimignano will book again here, but will be prepared for "white road" :)
Review 18:Nothing
Review 19:We especially liked the countryside feeling and the extraordinary view of San Gimignano from our room. The views of the Tuscan countryside is really breathtaking. A few minutes drive from San Gimignano.
Review 20:- The walls are a little thin - No internet, but they tell you this upfront (they actually have it but we couldn't connect from our room) - Two twin beds pushed together not ideal for cuddling :)
Review 21:- San gimignano was a short drive away and one of the best part of our trip - Awesome countryside villa overlooking the san gimignano and the rolling hills of Tuscany - Great spot to go around - Florence, Pisa, Siena were all relatively close - Breakfast was actually quite good, cold but a higher quality than expected (riccotta, croisants, fruit, sweets)
Review 22:The room I was given earlier. The room does not have even a glass to drink water. I feel a kettle with tea/coffee in rooms in a setting like this would be welcome.
Review 23:A little tricky to reach( of course you need a car) the place is pretty nice. We were offered a room on the rear side of reception which was a bit depressing with no windows , my request for change was promptly entertained and we shifted to another room in the other building which is a little distance away. The reception staff was very helpful and the stay was great. The place is quiet within striking distance of San Gimgniano. Thank you everyone .
Review 24:We couldn't sleep at all, because of very thin walls, where you could hear every single noise from other rooms (even unlocking the door or vibrating phone). Even though we changed the room, in the other house was the same story.
Review 25:Good location- close to san gimignano by car, beautiful suroundings, really toscan views, rular atmosphere, good breakfast, nice and helpful staff - it was possible to come after check-in hours.
Review 26:Beds are too hard.you need to invest in better sleep quality for guests. I've heard this from other guests and experienced it myself. A mini fridge in room would be great so guests can put drinks and snacks of their choice in it. Dinner staff needs more than one waiter and a helper (thats doesn't speak english) so it doesn't take 2hrs plus for one table of 2 to eat dinner. During our stay at dinner there were a lot of guest frustrated with waiting to be helped, having to get up to get waiter, raising hand to get next course and refills on drinks. And lastly the shower curtains need to be longer where it goes down to shower floor. Our bathroom floor was flooded every time due to this problem. My husband actually took it down and lowered it himself just for a quick fix.
Review 27:Claudia at front desk is a gem. She was so helpful and spoke great english. The location was stunning and you can tell taken care of with love. Horseback riding is a must. I look forward to returning again. We spent 15 days in Europe and by far this was our favorite spot. Cant say enough good about it.
Review 28:expensive and not too good food, A little bit too far to reach other places
Review 29:Wonderful caring staff, family feeling, resonable price, special location with plenty of space to walk in nature, an animal farm (horses), a little lake and two sweeming pools, one more children oriented and the othr more adult.
Review 30:The fattoria is beautiful and a perfect place to forget about everything and just rest... Wonderful breakfast with breathtaking views. We only stayed one night and wished we could stay longer. The staff was great
Review 31:Be prepared for a rustic landscape. Fattoria is beautiful, but it does not have air conditioning. The bugs are also pesky in the summer time. Be prepared with bug spray.
Review 32:Fattoria Voltrona offers the true Tuscan experience. The staff and accommodations make you feel as though you are visiting Italian relatives. Its a perfect getaway spot for a group seeking a quiet Italian escape or an adventure in the countryside.
Review 33:This has nothing to do with Voltrona and are more of info to future visitors - if you travel by car - don't trust your GPS or maps! You must take the road from San Donato. If the GPS indicates you to Montauto don't believe it. The road to Voltrona is a one-way and not a drive through as it may appear on google map and all GPSs. Secondly the road from San Donato to Voltrona is very much the "authentic" version of a road - i.e. gravel and dust, so if you arrive in your fancy sportscar you might want to reconsider driving all the way. But if you are like my fiancé you'll enjoy the drive along the dusty windling path to paradise!
Review 34:This is simply the best! Voltrona is situated in the middle of nowhere, which in Tuscany means with the rolling hills and the silhouette of San Gimignano on the door step. It's within easy drives to a lot of interesting villages and cities. San Gimignano is only an hours WALK away. Voltrona is the perfect place to make day trips from - Siena, Voltrona, Florence and Monteriggioni is just around the corner. The rooms are well kept and perfect in their simplicity. Keep the shutters closed on the warm sunny days and you'll have a nice night's sleep! With two pools there is always time for a jump into the cooling water. But Voltrona is so much more than great rooms and great views. There is also great food - even fantastic food - dinner is very much recommended to have at least once at Voltrona. The wine and olive oil are "home made" and it is also possible to bring some with you home. The staff is lovely and helpful, the horses are well kept and I did a morning tour which was lovely and a new way of experiencing Tuscany and those rolling hills. I recommend Voltrona to everyone - it's lovely, it's a tiny bit of paradise! We are already planning our return trip!
Review 35:Bed was a bit too hard.
Review 36:Location is beautifull and very relaxing. Food is great and prices are good. Their red housewine tasted perfect and is very cheap. Rooms arw basic but clean. Swimmingpool is nice, breakfast great. Try their fresh yoghurt!
Review 37:Had a real Tuscan feel. Room was big for three people. Liked that there was common space both inside and out as we had two rooms and we didn't have to hang out in either of them to all be together. Food was good. Large breakfast selection and the dinners were very good and a good value for the cost. Was just what we wanted. Downside was that we only booked for two nights - I could have skipped Cinque Terre and stayed here longer.
Review 38:I was there in June. Its a very dry and hot place. All the places in the building are really hot and there is not AC in the rooms.
Review 39:It is a very beautiful farm with a beautiful old building. There is a wonderful swimming pool.
Review 40:Very helpful staff. They assisted after our departure when we forgot something valuable - Thank you!!
Review 41:Breakfast could be more variable
Review 42:Great view and atmosphere. Friendly staff
Review 43:Bad road to access
Review 44:good food good location beautiful area
Review 45:Hard to find. GPS took us off course. Approach needs to be paved
Review 46:Open space. Out of town but close enough to be convenient. The view
Review 47:Absolutely loved it!!
Review 48:Beautiful location, good accomodation, helpful&friendly staff, good kitchen.
Review 49:Beautiful landscape. Super friendly staff. Very nice rooms and terrace.

Review 55:everything! best place to relax
Review 56:Location and landscape.
Review 57:Too hard bed
Review 58:Good food
Review 59:Beautiful surroundings, helpful staff, excellent food.
Review 60:Very very very beautiful place. Out in the nowhere, with silence. Nice people.
Review 61:Energy saving light bulbs in the bathroom with no window
Review 62:Beautiful location and amazing views very good value for money
Review 63:would appreciate fridge
Review 64:great staff, excellent cuisine, magnificent place - were there 2nd time a would come again
Review 65:We really enjoyed it. Amazing place, stuff, food, wine...
Review 66:Nature, location, silence
Review 67:We spent 5 nights at Fattoria Voltrona and we loved this place. Staff is really nice and helpful the landscape is beautiful. I also tried the horse riding tour it was amazing. We would highly recommend staying here!
Review 68:Nothing to complain about. Don't expect metro standard but appreciate the true tuscany countryside.
Review 69:Claudia on reception was a gem. Peaceful, lovely amenity and the dinners were top quality.
Review 70:its hard to find it without GPS
Review 71:beautifull place, lovely view, very good breakfast, nice and peacefull location, magnificent Tuscany atmosphere, very nice rooms
Review 72:The room did not smell that nice (airing out helped though) and the bed was a little too hard for my taste. They could also improve the lightning in the room.
Review 73:The location was definitely the best part of this place. The view is absolutely breathtaking, and it feels so secluded all the while being close to San Gimigiano! There are two pools, one of which has an amazing view. The staff was very nice and helpful. The facilities are also great - horse riding, vespa rental etc.
Review 74:The road to Fattoria Voltrona is twisty and a dirt track which is difficult for a motorbike. We had been advised that the car park is gravel too so bikers make sure you take your wood block! Whilst the restaurant is popular in the evening, we found the service very disappointing and slow and the meals themselves equally disappointing as they lacked taste - no lovely fresh herbs and although this is an olive growing region there were no olives in the salad which comprised of lettuce leaves and a few quarters of tomato - we visited the wine shop and the young girl was very helpful but was not able to give us all the information we needed as we are great wine lovers and interested in wines and the wines themselves were of a disappointing standard. We had hoped to fish as Fattoria Voltona has a lake and looked good in the photos but in reality is quite small....San Gimignano was much, much busier and more touristy than we ever imagined with coacloads of tourists, but if you walk into the side plazas you can find smaller bars and several served really good food at reasonable prices..
Review 75:The location is in lovely countryside and the swimming pool area and restaurant are attractive. The room itself is sizeable. Breakfast was well presented and plentiful. Fattoria Voltrona is about 15 minutes from San Gimignano and is in a peaceful location.
Review 76:There was a dog, in next room, and yapped non stop during 2 hours from 21h to 23h00...
Review 77:restaurant: good food, personnel helpfull (for my young child) The landscape, wonderful and quiet Clean pool Pony ride, is a nice concept Réception also helpfull, whn asking question, always have answer and good tips.
Review 78:The bedroom was a non smoking room but it smelled like cigarette smoke.
Review 79:The place was absolutely beautiful! I would come back to this wonderful farm stay every time that I am in the area.
Review 80:It was difficult to find it first time. Please provide GPS coordinates. There was no WiFi internet in the room only at the reception.
Review 81:Nice surrounding. Rich breakfast. Good location. The room is simple but the surroundings are gorgeous and fully compensate the simplicity of the room.
Review 82:Nothing :)
Review 83:A great place with beautiful views of the San Gimignano towers. All rooms come with a separate entrance, which was very comfortable to us because we traveled along with the dog.
Review 84:Nothing - is 1,5 km from the major road
Review 85:Everything. We extended our stay as we liked it so much - staff is extremely friendly - location is just taken from the postcard - you can do hiking, horse riding, rent vespa, etc.. - restaurant is great and every evening is full
Review 86:This place was very special - we had a beautiful view on San Gimingnano from our window, room was clean and pretty. Staff was very supportive and food was delicious ! There are great facilities - no chance to be bored! Its a pity we stayed there for such a short time!
Review 87:Bed was a little hard, but thats my personal preference. Otherwise, perfect!
Review 88:This was my second stay here, would stay again any time Im in the area. Great complimentary breakfast, dinner is fantastic and well priced. Staff is very friendly/helpful. Good location, central to places to see in Tuscany. Amazing views.
Review 89:Check-in only before 8 pm
Review 90:A very picturesque place, you may take a photo you were dreaming about to make in Tuscany. The room is good (4 out of 5), but the place itself worth going there. Olive trees, vineyards, ponys, a pond, the hills... You will love that! They also rent Vespas and bykes. A breakfast was ok and a dinner was very good.
Review 91:Wonderfull stay, excellent staff, great breakfest, great countryside location..just like we remembered Tuscany (having been there before 15 years ago)
Review 92:Soundproofing lacked a bit; we heard next door quests having an intimate time :) no big deal
Review 93:Breakfast, great landscape, helpful staff, close to San Gimignano, horse riding possible, caring for the environment, clean, simply quiet and peaceful.
Review 94:Voltrona is amazing! We stayed here for 6 days while visiting the Tuscany countryside. What a joy to wake up every morning to the beautiful view from our window and the lights from San Gimignano in the evening. The breakfast buffet is huge and delicious. And definitely try lunch and dinner--prices are good and you can order a la carte.
Review 95:Room was stuffy and smelled unpleasent and moldy upon arrival - airing out helped. Furniture and bedding was musty. There was significant noise until late in night.
Review 96:Beautiful location.
Review 97:The breakfast is quite basic but sufficient.
Review 98:Wonderful location off the beaten path. Great value for the money. Nice hosts, great food and excellent wine. Everything is quite basic but you will not lack anything. I unique experience.
Review 99:very hard to reach,20 minutes from main road.location is not good.meal is disappointing in terms of content and taste. There are no room numbers on some of the doors ?!
Review 100:beautiful view with great swimming pools, clean rooms, one of the best facilities for an agricultural holiday.
Review 101:Breakfast was not homemade and there was no variety of products (for vegetables just tomatoes, for fruits just apples etc.). By contrast to the tranquil surroundings, in the room it was very noisy because the doors that slamming shut all the time. The design of the doors was the problem.
Review 102:The swimming pools were great, so as the view to the hills. Great location for walks in a natural environment (pond, olive trees). Very relaxing and tranquil environment. San Gimignano, a remarkable medieval town, is close, only 6 km away by car and 5 km by foot.
Review 103:The road to the hotel is quite bad, steep and gravel surfaced. The window opened to a sitting bench so we had to keep the shutter closed. Because of this the room was quite dark. No mosquito screen on the window.
Review 104:The room was clean, the breakfast was excellent. The food at the restaurant is really good. San Gimignano just a few minutes drive away.
Review 105:A bit off the beaten path
Review 106:Beautiful landscape, comfortable room, attention to detail, lots of outdoor seating, pool area, walking paths, delicious food
Review 107:Everything is perfect at Fattoria Voltrona !!
Review 108:I loved everything about this place. I would highly recommend Fattoria Voltrona. It was clean, peaceful, and it had outstanding views. The walk to San Gimignano was spectacular! I did not want to leave.
Review 109:If the hotel know they are far away twon center, hope least can pick upfrom to San gminignano
Review 110:The view is great, and people all very nice and helpful,I like here, makeme feel goog
Review 111:It was all very nice, perhaps a little too polished for an agriturismobut that's being very picky
Review 112:The location is lovely and not difficult to find. Our room was greatvalue for money considering the size and the breakfast was good.
Review 113:Loved everything about this place! Beautiful facility with a beautiful view. The food was great, the staff was very friendly and the prices were excellent.
Review 114:Nothing.
Review 115:Everything was excellent from the panoramic view to the authentic rooms atmosphere. The barn-restaurant serves amazing traditional food in a warm environment. All the staff was very nice and adequate. Even the horses were nice! The pedestrian walk from the Fattoria to San Giminiano is a great experience, between grapes and olive trees!
Review 116:Beautiful, peaceful location. The staff was very helpful and went out oftheir way to try and help us map out various trail runs that we did. Thefood was excellent. They also called to make sure the wineries we wantedto go to were open and made appointments for us.
Review 117:Everything. Just magical and charming little farm off the main road. Excellent staff and really good food.Best vacation ever.
Review 118:Rural setting and hospitality
Review 119:view
Review 120:Absolutely nothing.
Review 121:Purely amazing.
