I drove for 14 hours to arrive at the hotel and have the valet guy shout at me because my friend didn't give his car keys for his car. we place the luggage in the room and go to checkout the restaurants. first restaurant (i think silk road) told us that they would seat us but service would be slow. We figured 10-15 minute slow. We left after no one showed up for 40 minutes and people got frustrated and started leaving. We got a room which didn't get the wifi signal. When I called the reception, I was asked to use the paid internet. I might have if I could get the signal. I ended up subscribing to a roaming data pack and using my mobile. 2 days of eid, alcohol was not allowed, On the third day, we could only have beer. The guy refused to make cocktails. Just said "no cocktails". Swimming pool closes at 9PM. You go up the mountains, hike and come back hoping to sit in the swimming pool; but its closed. Leave glasses outside of your room and it will be there for 2 days. you have to specifically ask them to pick them up. Some of the staff was super helpful, some were just rude. but the rude really stick out on a vacation and ruin your mood. I was denied valet parking for 2 nights. was asked to park myself, but there was no space so I had to park it outside the hotel and walk back. hotel is huge walking with kids is not easy.

Review 31：We had to pay for our Internet connection during our stay. They offered a free connection but it was VERY slow. If you are only planning to check your emails and social media posts on your smartphone then the free WiFi is fine. Because we had a lot of school work to complete during our holidays we decided to pay for the 3 day WiFi package which equates to about $55 USD. On the third day we could barely get a connection. Luckily when we mentioned this to reception after our checkout, they removed the cost for the three days which we thought was a wonderful gesture. But to be honest, in this day in age, the majority of hotels offer free WiFi and the fact that we had to pay and the quality wasn't great would make us second guess another holiday at this resort. Second, there was no minibar in the room. This is not a big deal for us but it may be a big deal for other travellers. There was a fridge in the room but it was empty. Additionally, there were only 3 restaurants to choose from, one was Asian, the second was a beach grill and the third was an international buffet. After staying there a few days we were a little bored with the menus. It would be better if this resort had more restaurants to choose from. Finally, the outdoor pool wasn't very nice. It reminded us of a lap pool in a recreation facility.

Review 32：The staff were very accommodating any time we had a question or required additional services. The beach was pristine and the food at the Asian restaurant was delicious.

Review 63：I booked an king size ocean view which I didn't get next day when I spoke to the reception he changed our room to a smaller one and still no ocean view which I paid for. Wifi was very weak. Unfortunately when we were in the pool just before the sunset someone decided to spray insecticide all aroun the hotel, he was wearing a mask but no other guest was wearing neither we've been informed before so we can aviod the spraying areas. When we wanted to check-out from the hotel we called the reception to send us someone to pick our luggage waited for 30 minutes no one showed up I had called reception 3 times each 10 minutes the answer was "hes in the way" when I was getting late I had to take my bags all the way to the reception and check out.

Review 64：Fridge cabinets and doors full of green mold. Food, other than breakfast, is really inadequate, limited or inapproprIate cuisines. Poor quality Frozen meat and fish. Lots of flies, mosquitoes (and fruit flies) despite regular defogging. A bad odor, sewerage-like, coming from the ocean (might be the algae and other rotted seaweed).

Review 65：Breakfast in Saffron is great. Lots of varieties and space. Food islands segregated into 5 locations. Quiet and privacy for some balconies. Kids enjoyed the pool, and were excited at the location walkways in open air, and buildings being divided into clusters and private balconies, riding the buggy cars as means of transportation.

Review 66：transportation within the hotel is very bad due to the non availability of the club car (golf car) it takes more 25 minutes to get one. I spoke to one of the key staff and he informed that they have only 7 club cars which is not enough for a big hotel like Rotana. They shall have 30 club cars as a minimum.

It makes no sense to even pay for a sea facing balcony if you don't enjoy it. During our 6 days stay the electricity went off more than once per day!!!! Guest service staff they are acting nice but you can really tell that they are not listening to the customer complains. House keeping staff lack training. oh and one more thing, no ice cream sold at the swimming pool bar area.

The night staff took almost too long to get anything that was asked for. Food was delivered within 20 mins. But for example getting the tray back took a staggering 40 mins or so.

Review 82：The comfort level is amazing. The view from the room is great. There is almost no disturbance or noise in the rooms. Very high build quality.

Review 83：There was no free wifi inside the rooms. You have to leave the comfort of your room to have wifi connection. If you ask for a box of tissue or something it takes alot of time for them to bring it to you. Either its because of the large compound and the distances between each buildings or there seems to be a shortage of staff. The other thing is that when we arrived tired after a long day at the airport and the 30mins ride to the hotel, we ended up having to wait for the clubcar(golf cart) to recharge or we can walk to our rooms. Eventually we waited in the lobby, but i never got to ride on it again cause it was always"recharging". Other than that it was great!

I spent 45 minutes just for the check-in & out. Review 112：WIFI coverage doesn't meet the resort standard. It should be faster and should be included in the room rate. The beach shoud be cleaned better. No beach cafe was open during my visit

Review 124：There's no dedicated car/pick up service from the airport-well it advertises they can organise it but the car didn't seem like it. No problems with pick up except the driver didn't speak barely any English but wasn't a problem. The problem was the taxi to the airport,firstly I was told a price inside then the price increased when I got in the taxi,I told him to take me back as I hadn't agreed on the price he was trying to charge me (there is of course no meter). We got into a little argument and the hotel staff sorted it,then I was very uncomfortable with the driver the whole way,as a woman travelling alone I had ready many stories about staying safe when alone with male taxi drivers. When we approached the airport he told me I had made problems for him with the hotel and the reason he asked for more money was because it would help him out,he was sleeping in his car,he made me feel incredibly guilty and uncomfortable. After such a luxuouris stay it put a real downer on the weekend.i think the hotel seriously needs to have proper service to and from the airport

The staff are the most polite,lovely and helpful that I have ever encountered,they seem genuinely interested in you and not just because it's their jobs. They really helped my overall comfort during the stay Everything was great,the food,beach and pool! The spa was something else,I went for the 3 hour treatment and it was worth every penny,one of the best massages I've ever had!

For a simple mistake, they provide us with complementary airport pickup, late check-out and free delivery of breakfast to the room (cuz my mum used wheelchair)... we got a discount for a trip and gift at the end. I think people loved us and so we are :) Very calm environment, happy staff, nice location for meditation. This is my second time at rotana and i will go again for sure.

Review 137：the best hotel you can stay in salalah staff amazing and everything is 20 min drive not more, away from the city but you dont need the city when youre in it, rooms are very well done and amazing gives you a home feeling

Review 139：Rotana Salalah is an amazing property. Slightly far from the city but the location gives a sense of peace and tranquility. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful. The resort is on the beach and there are beach bars and beach facing restaurants. The food options are amazing. We visited Cafe arabesque, saffron and Silk Road. All great in terms of food options and quality of food. The resort has quite a few things to keep kids busy as well.
