Reviews for Lange Jan Hotel
Review 1:Warning- it is noisy because of the location. But that was a fair trade off for me given all the positives, plus I already knew about the noise when I booked (thanks fellow reviewers!) Plus, they provide ear plugs if you need them!
Review 2:Perfect location on one of the town squares. Super-friendly staff, comfortable. Great value.
Review 3:There is nothing not to like.
Review 4:Great little place to stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was extremely clean, with a small en suite shower room with toilet, only missing a wardrobe but as we only stayed for a night this wasn't necessary. There were coat hooks with hangers provided to hang your clothes. The hotel has a lovely little garden next to a canal that curiously shares menus with the restaurant next door. There was a great vibe in the evening and we had a wonderful dinner and drinks. We were not very hungry, so we asked to share a meal and they even brought it separated on two plates. The breakfast was also excellent, bacon, scrambled eggs, different types of bread, cold meats and cheese, cereals, coffee and tea and juices.
Review 5:Not so much a bad experience, but it was a little difficult to find due to its location within an area that has limited vehicle traffic.
Review 6:The staff was great.
Review 7:Showers are in the room, but toilets are not. I think that is the only reason while this is comparably cheap, because everything was great.
Review 8:Very friendly and helpful staff. Located at one of the central squares of Amersfoort, still quiet at night (because of double glass window). Very good rooms for this price class (just no toilet in the rooms). There is a nice pub downstairs, you can sit at the water and enjoy a beer and a burger.
Review 9:The place was amazing, located in the very heart of Amersfoort. The city is like a fairy tale with almost no tourists. Loved the place and we're definitely coming back to the same hotel!
Review 10:Neighbours,but you cannot choose other guests next tó your room.We got two drunk "ladies".But thats not the fault of roomkeeper. Its Saturday night.
Review 11:Nice Staff, good location.Comfortable room.
Review 12:There is nothing that i didn't enjoy here, from the first minute I spent in Jan Hotel everything was great!
Review 13:The atmosphere in Jan Hotel is just amazing: very comfortable, cozy, proper & quiet. At the same time if you prefer to have fun, you just have to descend to the great pub on the groundfloor when people are very friendly, music is jolly. Rooms are very clean, there is more than enough space and lots of windows with a lovely view to the central square. You can also find a lot of great restaurants in the area with a delicious dishes.
Review 14:The hotel is located in the very center of the city. The hotel is easy to find and there are a lot of attractions near. Rooms are quite small, but comfortable and have everything you will need.
Review 15:Maybe is far from the train station, but is exactly in the center of the city. / Quizas está lejos de la estación, pero está justo en el centro de la ciudad.
Review 16:Everything was perfect: staff, room, comfort, location. / Todo fue perfecto: el personal, la habitación, ubicación, la comodidad.
Review 17:Nothing - it was all good
Review 18:The reception for the hotel is in the main bar and it was quite busy in the late evening but I was attended to immediately. A very friendly reception which was most welcome after a long journey. I was given room 4 which looked over the flower market. It was clean and comfy with a great shower - and cushions as well as pillows on the bad - always a good sign. Breakfast was ready as requested at 0700 and included fried bacon and scrambled egg etc as well as a continental breakfast. I had a great chat with Fleur the manageress whilst she was preparing the breakfast room. A great find for me and I hope to return soon.
Review 19:I didn't like was having to use a shared toilet per floor rather than having private one in room. Breakfast was ol but over priced at €9 for what was available.
Review 20:Great location, friendly staff, very clean rooms and comfy beds. Dinner was AMAZING - cooker at Charlie's burger bar next door but brought through. Very good value for money, quaint and full of character.
Review 21:What's not to like?
Review 22:This is the kind of hotel you dream of finding...small, inexpensive, great location, clean, comfortable bed, nice bed linen, great view of the market square from my room with fairy lights dancing in the trees at night. Magic!
Review 23:My 6 nights at the Lange Jan Hotel could not have been warmer . . . the room was warm and cozy (and it was cold outside), there was plenty of nice warm water (as well as a big bath tub), the warm breakfast was yummy, and the staff could not have been warmer or more helpful.
Review 24:little bathroom and room
Review 25:clean room, friendly and helpfull staff, willingly borrowed kettle to room for all stay, good place in the historic centre, atmosphere,...
Review 26:Thought pub closed earlier, but at least it was cold enough to keep window closed, and they provided ear plugs!!!!
Review 27:Clean, great value, friendly staff, good breakfast, beautiful & charming town, good beds, tv!
Review 28:We had a standard double suite, with a skylight view of the Lange Jan tower next door. A small window looked out on a corner of the square. Potentially noisy at night, but apparently well sound proofed, because we heard nothing. A nice touch was the provision of complementary ear plugs, just in case!
Review 29:Nothing

Review 65:Great bar and music downstairs especially Bart's selection on a Monday night!
Review 66:Noisy. Late night life outside. You could hear doors slamming in the morning. Very hard to reach if you don't know your way around town.
Review 67:A clean, no nonsense room. At the heart of the historical centre, walking disctance from all shops, bars, restaurants. Actually the hotel is managed by the pub downstairs. Very convenient.
Review 68:We only stayed one night. All we needed was a cheap bed for the night. We booked the budget room.it was perfect...perfectly clean..crisp and fresh at a very low prijs. We will be back.
Review 69:All of the staff were amazing: Friendly, helpful, personable, and charming! The location was in the city center but very quiet in the room. You are right near the shops and all the places to eat. The bar downstairs is relaxing and non-touristy - a great change from Amsterdam. Try the burgers from the place next door - they are terrific. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area or as a central point to explore the rest of the country. Amsterdam is only 30 minutes away by train.
Review 70:The room was so small you could hardly move. There was no wardrobe. Fine for an overnight stop, but would be hard for any longer.
Review 71:The location was excellent, right in the centre of the old part of town.
Review 72:Very steep stairs! And the name of Lange Jan is not clearly displayed! We found it qiute difficult to find!
