Reviews for Da O Vittorio

Review 1:There was no parking- Staff very cold- The room was worse than a dormer (cup board)-Unable to open the room's door because the locker was broken- Main entrance very close to a narrow traffic road. It was very dangerous to get out...

Review 2:Nothing

Review 3:Not a thing bad to say, every thing was perfect

Review 4:Reception when we arrived very tired after travelling was very nice with a very warm welcome and we will definitely stay again

Review 5:The restaurant smell seems to seep from every pore of every part of the building. The decor is absurdly 70s. There was a weird spooky doll display in a glass cabinet outside our room.

Review 6:Very friendly staff and owners. Easy motorway access, we used it as a stopover hotel on a road trip. It's a very unique place with a strong identity and history. No extra costs - wifi, breakfast and parking all included.

Review 7:Unacceptably Hot and uncomfortable was this room and no/terrible parking unless you like waking up at 7am to move your car. You would think that after probably 200 years of people living in this building they would realise that summer plus city centre location equals scorching. Amazingly even after the invention of strong electric powered fans and air conditioning no one has attempted to change this extremely uncomfortable internal building climate, here we must realised that intelligence does does not extend everyone. Strange furniture selection, nothing but cold water (thankfully something was cold) generally Sad and accommodation moving to a rating of failure.

Review 8:The bed was okay but due to the litres of sweat I poured into it even that comfort was eventually withdrawn.

Review 9:Elevator is small but not by European standards.

Review 10:Great comfort, access to trains north and south, fantastic restaurant, fabulous service, and a hearty breakfast.

Review 11:One of the washroom showers had mold in it. Due for an update/renovation. It also faced a back alley which was very noisy.

Review 12:We stayed two nights at Da O Vittorio (with another hotel out of town in-between). We has different rooms for each stay, both spacious and lovely. The best part of this hotel is it's charm - both the building and the staff. Wonderful that they also spoke a bit of French and English.

Review 13:Didnt like having to leave!!

Review 14:The room was fantastic, spacious, lots of cupboards, mirrors, 2 balconies. The staff were great, the owners delightful. The meals amazing traditional Italian fare, not to be missed [ie. don't eat out, eat in!!] We loved everything about this hotel. Its an easy walk to Camogli and its classic italian fishing village waterfront and a quick train and bus to Portifino. On top of all this the cost is very reasonable.

Review 15:Lack of a pavement immediately outside the hotel entrance. Not the hotel's fault, but it is a busy road. There is a rear entrance down a side road - much safer.

Review 16:Smallish room in a smallish family run hotel, on the main road out of town leading to the motorway. Large restaurant which for an unfashionable coastal town was always surprisingly.busy. There was one outstanding friendly hard-working and helpful waiter. Slightly pricey menu, but good food. Wine list is enormous.

Review 17:Weren't too impressed with the restaurant attached to the hotel. Found one of the waiters a little rude when he could speak a little English but insisted on conversing with us in Italian only. Meal was just ok. We had the extra large double room which gave us some space. Room overall was what we expected for the price.

Review 18:This was a very affordable location to stay to visit Genoa and Portofino. Lovely small town and we found a gem of a restaurant in town - "da Lino". The waiter there was excellent, even went to the trouble of looking up on the computer the word for ruby grapefruit because the dessert of ruby grapefruit sorbet was DIVINE. The meal was excellent.

Review 19:Poorly solved parking for guests - 2 detached parking places and neither with free (or accesible) spots and night - very annoying situation in a city where you can't park the car. Could here every single noise from the next room - got woken up by someone showering...

Review 20:Although the breakfast is till 10:30, at 10 many things are already finished and they don't refill unless you ask for it

Review 21:We had a junior suite, I would not call it a suite but just a bigger double room with balcony. We only stayed for one night, but the experience was positive. In particular we liked the free bicycles given to the guests. It's really convenient for going to the beach. Free parking is a plus. Breakfast was ok.

Review 22:I have nothing to say here, Look the positive feedback.

Review 23:Breakfasts are simply amazing: some dishes made from eggs, ham, cheese, yoghurts, fruits, jams, fresh pastry and drinks. The location is good - close to the sea.

Review 24:We had a very comfortable stay. Great to have the elevator for bringing up our luggage. Food in the restaurant was excellent and staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Review 25:This B&B is located together with one of the best restaurant in Italy. D O Vittorio. Even if you're not staying in the room, please take your time to visit and have a beautiful meal at their restaurant. Room is clean and comfortable. Parking is free and safe. We couldn't ask for more. Would recommend to other travellers.

Review 26:no concerns or dislikes.

Review 27:Rooms were well equipped, large and had individual balconies. Lift access to floor - than had to carry bags - but not very far. Excellent breakfast menu - quality and quantity - plus good service for coffee and tea. Staff very helpful and understanding. Restaurant food high quality and very tasty.

Review 28:Arrived on a wet Saturday night, with a wedding in full swing. Nowhere to stop or pull off the road out of the heavy traffic. Told there was no reserved parking as promised, even though we had booked months ahead. Were initially left to find our own in the pouring rain. We were wet through. Room was smallest in 8 weeks. Nowhere to put bags, or drawers for clothes, so hardly able to move. Loud music until after midnight, and passage ways clogged with guests. The other nights were OK.

Review 29:Excellent tourist advice, and great breakfast. And it was so conveniently sited for access to such a special coastal area.

Review 30:Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel also comprises a restaurant with excellent cuisine. We were more than happy with our stay and can warmly recommend it.

Review 31:Fantastic place! If you are travelling through Liguria, you must stop here obligatory both for the hotel and dinner in family restaurant!

Review 50:coll atmosphere. great food and cusine... really a nice experience at dinner.

Review 51:The town was fine for an overnight stop but would not stay longer. Would have preferred the main hotel to the annexed.

Review 52:The restaurant was superb - a gastronomic treat. Staff (all from the owning family) were delightful.

Review 53:Some parked cars in the street obstruct the passage to the main entrance.

Review 54:A very nice, family-owned hotel of traditional style with own restaurant of Ligurian cuisine, 600 m from railway station and 15 minutes from the beach, beautiful landscapes, near to the shops. We have got a spacious room with balcony.

Review 55:The rooms were very simple, old looking and not looking like the photos we saw during the reservation; but was spacious and clean.

Review 56:The owners were very nice and kind. The photos on the walls were all nice. The restaurant was very nice and famous. One lady we met in Portofina even said that it's a very famous restaurant. We didn't have the chance to eat, but I recommend the other visitors to try the restaurant.

Review 57:this hotel has been owned and run by the same family for five generations and if you eat in the excellent restaurant you can feel that family atmosphere we were very well looked after

Review 58:People staying in the second house/ building where banging the heavy room doors all night. Didn't get much sleep.

Review 59:The two owner brothers where very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good.

Review 60:Fantastic staff, all so friendly and able to talk some English, which was helpful as our Italian is non-existent! Wonderful restaurant, with a choice of eating either in the formal restaurant, or the more casual (and cheaper) osteria. Very interesting photos and memorabilia, as the hotel has been in the family for 100 years

Review 61:Area not marvellous

Review 62:Friendly helpful staff though not much English but I prefer that! Why should all the world speak English? The restaurant was really excellent and the foccaccia with cheese superb. Very impressive and full of locals not tourists.

Review 63:Hotel block or part of it, is across the narrow street at the rearof the main Hotel, and the front door opens onto that busy street, with cars passing quite close to your toes!! Ok when you remember tolook left!!

Review 64:Astonishing, beautiful, tasteful room. Excellent and friendly old-fashioned staff, great menu.

Review 65:Parking a bit tricky, Room compact but very clean and comfortable. Given that the bathroom was tiny why would you have the basin taking up so much space??

Review 66:Restaurant simply outstanding.

Review 67:Desk staff with baby on lap! Lift too small, would rather climb stairs!

Review 68:Resturant, balcony, room! Breakfast lady Maria!

Review 81:The breakfast does not include coffee. The bulding is quite old and tired.

Review 82:Adequate parking area. Very good breakfast.
