Review 1：I would have liked to have dinner equipment also after 1900 hours and a sink in the barbecue area.

Review 10：We arrived at 5.30 which was too late to meet staff. The temperature was 42 degrees and when in our very tiny room the air con was not working and we did not know who to call. In the morning we complained and staff said they would look into it. Unfortunately she then told me we could have called !!!!!!! We suffered dreadfully all night. Not even a fan. We had planned to stay two nights but decided to forgo the extra night cost and we went home.
Review 11：The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. When I got sunburnt they even lent me their own after-sun. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a barbeque area and they sold barbeque food packs at reception. The pool was a good size. There were heaps of leaflets of the local area in reception and trips could be booked directly at reception.
Review 12：Everything is very old. When we arrived the toilet and phone were not working. They moved us to another room where the kettle was not working this time and air con was half broken.

Review 17：Our daughter came up from Victoria for a conference so we drove up from Townsville to see her for one night. Both of us had booked "budget" rooms but were upgraded on booking in. The room was comfortable, clean. Breakfast was excellent as were the facilities.

Review 24：The door to our room was jamming at the top which made it extremely hard to open and shut, making it very dangerous if you had to get out in a hurry if a emergency occurred. The shower leaked leaving a pool of water on the floor. A fowl odour was coming out of the drains in the bathroom/toilet

After 2 mornings of cooking our breakfast; the staff seemed helpful and OK with us cooking on the barbecue, however, the next morning I noticed that the hot plates had been removed, when asking at the reception why, the receptionist stated that they sell hot breakfast, and we are not to cook our own. Review 62：As a smoker which I know is bad but having to walk all the way to the parking lot for a smoke is a joke. When we were given a room they meant a room. Small. Me an my partner rarely Get time to ourselves without our kids just expected something better. I'm sure the ad said buffet breakfast not a buffet. Free wifi not even those were the conditions to our room. The photos felt miss leading I think. The rim around the shower was dirty some kind of black stuff. Wish I could get a refund.

If I wanted that I would havepaid half the price to stay in a hostel much closer to town. And when Itold the staff they did absolutely nothing to help or offer.The next night I ended up staying at the Rydges for cheaper & on the esplanade!!! They upgraded our room for nothing and the customer service was out of this world. So much better.

Review 110：It's a bit of a trek when it's hot to get to restaurants, shops etc and I wasn't happy to walk by myself late at night to go into Cairns and walk back. Fine if you're a couple though.

Pick up from airport only on weekdays, you have to hunt for this information on their website, and they will not take you to the airport, which is terrible. Their reason? 'We do not want you to leave!". Don't think there is room for everyone to stay forever. No elevator so you carry your bags to second or third floor, a problem if you older or sick.

Review 126：We stayed for one night in a basic room, no bathroom. It was fine for a night but a bit small for longer. There was only 1 shower/toilet on our floor which could do with renovation/better cleaning. The staff were very helpful and even let us borrow some scales so we could check our luggage!
Review 127：Your credit card gets charged a day before you arrive 'because their system requires that'. That means you also pay the surcharge for paying by CC. 10-15 mins from he beach/shops, supermarket is quite far away as well.

Review 131：The hotel is a little way out of the action in the centre. It is a 15 minute walk into the centre of town. This was no problem for us. You had to pay $5 for WiFi unless you book a tour through the hotel, in which case it is free. Like almost everywhere in Australia the WiFi is frustratingly slow.
Review 132：All the staff here were great. Couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Very clean good basic facilities. Breakfast was simple but adequate continental style with some Chinese options. Staff suggested to us a day reef tour with Reef Adventure. We did this and it was great. Snorkelling and diving on the reef is amazing.
