Reviews for Wada Lodge

Review 1:so far, NO.

Review 2:Tradition Family-owned Japanese Home Stay. The staff there are very polite & helpful. Even they just speak few English, they will try to help as much as possible. Most of the customers are local, but they are good to foreigner as well. Just a 5 minute walk to Mitsumata Ropeway allows you to enjoy snowboarding or skiing easily at the Kagura ski area. They allow temporary storage of luggage that you could still enjoy skiing whole day after checked out at the morning.

Review 3:The only thing was the shared bathroom. As I am not used to this, it was a little shock at first, but just have to embrace this cultural difference.

Review 4:I thought that the food provided was amazing quality and was truly delicious. The owner was very friendly and helpful and was so accommodating.

Review 5:Shared bathrooms are not my preference and customers need to be aware that they have to bring their own towels. My other bug bear with this hotel and the region in general is the lack of credit card acceptance. It is incredibly inconvenient having to carry wads of cash around, especially when the one ATM in the town isn't working. Hotel, lift tickets and rental equipment all bought with cash! I would happily pay the surcharge to avoid the hassle of finding cash machines.

Review 6:Pleasant staff and a comfortable and warm traditional room. The food was home made, served with obvious pride and very authentic, however, if you are expecting teriyaki chicken think again. This would appear to be a region and hotel that rarely has western customers. The staff didn't speak English so Google translate was a savior.

Review 7:Being able to speak a little Japanese helps, especially if you are trying to coordinate rental equipment and lift tickets at the inn itself. But, you can make do without :)

Review 8:I went here with a friend on account of the great price. The staff set us up with ski rental, ride to the ropeway, two meals, shower, and cozy wood stove atmosphere. Morning espresso by the fire was a great touch.

Review 9:We weren't expected due to missing paperwork at the Lodge - and we were the only guests there so they were basically shut. So very uncertain about everything (room, food, facilities) at the start - although they responded well and were very considerate of our needs. Early season issue I suspect.

Review 10:Location, dinner, assistance with discount ski passes, dinner, assistance with discount gear at shop directly across from the ropeway. Did I mention dinner? Really lovely family run place (I suspect 4 x generations!) and I reckon would be a great place if more guests there(we went mid-week/early season so it was very quiet. Virtually no English spoken - this is not a complaint - it is simply a reflection this place is just opening up to a broader client base. Great experience. Great cooks!

Review 11:Great service, food and location. Friendly staff. Authentic Japanese experience.

Review 12:Shared bathroom is a bit far from the room

Review 13:Food Staffs' hospitality Only a 5 min walk from onsen

Review 14:Helpful staff Casual atmosphere Fantastic meals
