Reviews for Reef Villa and Spa
Review 1:It is an exquisite luxury hotel; simply wonderful rooms, beautiful vistas, pampering facilities, delicious food and the staff were everything you'd hope for in a boutique hotel.
Review 2:I would say the only small problem was finding the Reef Villa - we did have a problem finding it so wasted an hour driving alongside the train tracks for a sign and calling for directions so when you have been on the road all day and tired this can get fractious, purely as not very well sign posted from the main road.
Review 3:Upon booking the Reef Villa I did not know it was Boutique type hotel with about 7 suites only, I should have paid attention to the Villa part of the name. This is 2nd time I have visited Sri Lanka and what a find, behind those wooden gates is a well and truly a beautifully designed home - does not feel like a hotel and I am sure it was designed that way by the owners to make you feel you were somewhere special. Detail, I always say its in the detail and again this has it. The rooms very well kept and Mossie net on four poster bed what more could you want - the history behind the rooms content is in the leaflets the owners have left for you to read. The Manager was exceptionally helpful and we had a little language problem with our driver we had hired for our trip - the Manager spoke with him on our plans the next morning so he was clear before we took off on our destinations. Nothing is too much trouble very pleasant stay and would certainly stay there again. Food was very good - Breakfast made to order liked that very much. Once you arrive its all very relaxing very much recommend this large Villa and its gorgeous surroundings.
Review 4:The only downside is the sea is not great for swimming, rather choppy with currents. There are no other options for dining in the area but the restaurant is so good it doesn't matter.
Review 5:Wonderful, friendly staff were so attentive without being too formal. Manel room is fabulously oversized and luxurious. Food amazing. Very relaxing and such attention to detail in the beautiful house. A real gem.
Review 6:*Poor value for money. *Some staff could be more friendly. *Poor late check out facilities.
Review 7:*The layout and quality of the room was excellent. *Pre booking communications with resort was excellent.
Review 8:Not much going on in the local area but then again why would you leave somewhere so idyllic?!
Review 9:Superb stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Tailored food for our toddler. Beautifully and painstakingly crafted house and gardens. Absolutely wonderful place. If in doubt about booking - trust me, just go for it!
Review 10:Nothing....
Review 11:Every detail of this resort was exceptional.
Review 12:Gorgeous hotel, lovely staff and like stepping back in time ..all furnished with original furniture and ornaments from bygone era. Wonderful..
Review 13:The beds were beyond uncomfortable, food can only be ordered at limitedtimes, there is nothing locally to see or do, the beach is dirty, thesea is rough, the pool shades are fixed so can't protect yourselffrom the sun all the time. The bathroom toiletries were never refilled. The minibar didn't chill. Trips are best organized by yourself asthe hotel overcharges massively.
Review 14:The house and grounds were lovely, the pool staff exceptionallyattentive. The lizard and the fish were entertaining.
Review 15:Leaving! Don't think their website does the reef villa andspa justice.
Review 16:Paradise! Beautiful setting in lush gardens. A very personalised touch.Food was delicious and the staff extremely attentive.
Review 17:The noise in the room due to proximity of the train station... The pricetoo high for Sri lankan standards...
Review 18:The room; the restaurant, the fantastic park, the staff. Fabulous stay.
Review 19:There was nothing to dislike, just be careful with spray for the mosquitos as they are all over the osland at cerrtain times.
Review 20:The delightful couple that have designed and built this beautiful hotel have completed a prject most would only dream of. As you walk in you loose yourself in the world of an eco freindly environment that allows for every luxury whilst maintaining a sense of great balance with all around it. Peace and harmony here like no other, absolutly amaxing, well done to you both.
Review 21:Staff is to persisting in touting services. One day, I was invited to make preliminary order for dinner three times: two calls to room and personal visit to my apartment. During calls I was sleeping... Car service is very expensive. For pick-up from airport (just one way - 90 km) I paid to the hotel 160USD, just a little less than I would pay for a week car rent in Sri Lanka.
Review 22:Probably one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka to stay in calm and relaxed atmosphere. Interior and territory has been designed to bring most of comfort and local style simultaneously.
Review 23:House party atmosphere.
Review 24:Limited spa services . Remote from other activities .
Review 25:Beach location, food, convenience
