Reviews for Hotel Varandazul
Review 1:We were looking for a hotel that was cheap with parking and local transport available so we didn't have to drive into Lisbon (heard traffic and parking was terrible) Hotel was as expected, budget but pleasant.Close cheap local restaurant (not open Monday like everything else in town!)
Review 2:Used and even broken facilities in the bath. Water leaves the bath too slowly. No place to walk nearby.
Review 3:There are two good restaurants nearby but one of them is always closed. Good place to spend last nigth before departure from Lisbon. Very friendly stuff. Good breakfast. Fresh juice.
Review 4:the quality of sleep. One of the worst mattresses I've ever slept
Review 5:location, friendly staff
Review 6:small hard beds and smallish room with old decor, no modern amenities
Review 7:great staff and breakfast
Review 8:the staff, the location (the village, the town rather, is lovely: walk up to the castle, it's fabulous!)
Review 9:Outdated furniture. Squeaky floor.
Review 10:Clean, quiet and with a lovely staff.
Review 11:"Rubber" pilow. Low water drain from the bath. Cleaning is required. No Wi-Fi on the 2nd floor.
Review 12:Hopefully, it was 2nd floor location and terrace shadowed us from the all-day cars going hill-up along the main road to old part town. Good restaurant in 5 min walking distance. Nice park on the slope near the Castle. Palmela is more for attractive for tourists rather than Setubal. It is good starting point to explore the Arrabida Nature.
Review 13:- rooms are quite small. - even with elevator, there were several steps to negotiate with luggage - not much choice with breakfast - beds were singles, not even twin size
Review 14:Clean place with good and helpful staff
Review 15:Hard to find - even the satnav got confused. The restaurant was closed (but decent breakfast) and finding somewhere for dinner on a Sunday is not so easy here.
Review 16:A handy stop-over going east from Lisbon airport, avoiding the worst of the Lisbon traffic experience whilst enjoying the terrific Vasco da Gama bridge. Clean, comfortable with helpful staff. Good views from bedrooms
Review 17:Wi-Fi network connection is only available in some rooms
Review 18:Very friendly staff; a modest hotel, but very clean and with everything I needed. Enjoyed having real coffee for breakfast, just out of the espresso machine. Very centrally located, several restaurants nearby. Great value for your money!
Review 19:It was central for what we wanted to see in the area, the staff were very helpful indeed and there were restaurants nearby. We had a lovely view across to Lisbon from our window.
Review 20:The room was very small, and the furniture made it difficult to movearound. There was no second toilet roll in the bathroom, but this wasimmediately rectified when mentioned at breakfast. The breakfast wasvery basic although it was the only hotel of the 4 used on this tripthat supplied pure fresh orange juice. There was no dining room, but arestaurant next door was convenient, although my wife suffered fromdiarrhoea the next day.
Review 21:There was a designated area for the car about 100 metres away.
Review 22:a bit dated
Review 23:Helpful stuff, simple and clean, a good location for exploring the Arrabida area.
Review 24:value for price paid
Review 25:Friendly helpful staff, good value for money and quiet location.
Review 26:Excelent value for money especialy with breakfast included
