Reviews for Hotel Campo Marzio

Review 1:The staff at the front desk weren't the greatest.. The man that was there once I checked was a little creepy and he required that my husband I left our passports at the desk overnight while he did the paperwork, which I wasn't really comfortable with.. And the lady who checked us out seemed like she couldn't be bothered to have anything to do with us.. Kind of off-putting.

Review 2:The room was great! Very clean, bed was comfy, and I really liked the color-changing lights in the shower, they were and awesome addition. The location was perfect, such a short walk from the train station but far enough away to where we weren't bothered by the trains. Taxis got there within a minute when we called for them, and perfectly adjacent to the main street in Vicenza so we could go do some shopping/sight-seeing.

Review 3:Only downside was the continued reconstruction going on. Our friends had to move rooms due to a water leak into their room. The hallways and exterior continue to be under renovation making things a little dusty and disheveled. When done, this will be a fabulous hotel

Review 4:Great hotel in a perfect location to the old center of Vicenza. Wonderful rooms, modern bathrooms, comfortable beds. Wifi was great. Breakfast was standard but had a few nice additions. Staff were helpful and always on hand.

Review 5:The only bad thing was that the wifi wasn't the best but unlike other hotels, you could link multiple devices and it was completely free. But of course, this was a small issue.

Review 6:We enjoyed our time here. The staff were very helpful and ensured that all our needs were met. We had stunning rooms that were comfortable.

Review 7:very convenient - located near the old city centre & the train station. we were upgraded to delux which was very appreciated. staff were most helpful & friendly.

Review 8:Nothing

Review 9:The hotel is being renovated, but there was very little disturbance in our room. The room (a deluxe room)was beautifully and elegantly decorated.Very stlylish and and a credit to the decorator.Location was perfect, only less than 5 minutes walk from the train station and 2 minutes from the city gate.If you are staying in Vicenza,I suggest this is the spot.

Review 10:The hotel is apparently undergoing renovation, but this did not adversely impact our stay because we saw no workers.

Review 11:Front desk staff were very helpful - especially in recommending nearby restaurants during a heavy downpour. Location just a short walk from the train station and at the edge of the historic center was especially convenient for us, as we made daytrips to Verona and Padova in addition to exploring Vicenza and environs.

Review 12:Single bed was very uncomfortable - hard mattress - and I had to ask for an additional pillow. My room was a bit shabby - it was one of the rooms that hasn't yet been renovated. I could hear all goings on in the bathroom next door - through the wall. The noise started at 6:00. Not restful.

Review 13:The location was good - close to the station and the old town. Staff were very pleasant and obliging. Breakfast was quite good too.

Review 14:The room we were given smelled strongly of cigarette smoke but the hotel quickly upgraded us to a different room when we reported this. The hotel is undergoing an extensive refurbishment, which wasn't mentioned in the advert, so the front of the building was covered in scaffolding and a lot of the interior was looking tired and definitely in need of an upgrade. This wasn't too big a concern for us as we were only staying one night but I would have been unhappy with this if we had been staying longer.

Review 15:The hotel was close to the train station and only a few minutes walk from the gateway into the old town.

Review 16:A pleasant hotel very close to the central part of this beautiful and historic city. It was also close to the railway station and shops/cafes/bars/restaurants so is very convenient indeed; an ideal location! The service was very good with very helpful staff and the breakfasts were generous with a great variety of things to choose from. The hotel is also very clean and serviced well.

Review 17:The extra money we paid for the deluxe room was worth it, he breakfast room was bright and spacious and the breakfast was very good. The location to the train station and the center of town was great.

Review 18:Hotel looks like it is in the process of renovation, reception and ground floor, as well as coridords looking old and need refurbishment.

Review 19:Hotel has a perfect location. We took junior suite and it was great (when you see entrance you would never expect such a good room).

Review 20:Ideally situated (just next to the station and next to the town center!), perfect accommodation, extremely agreeable place. I recommend it warmly to anyone who wants to enjoy his stay in the beautiful Vicenza.

Review 21:Very comfy top location very friendly staff excellent breakfast newly renovated with great taste. Air con in good position not right on the bed but over the entrance door.very happy to have chosen this hotel.

Review 22:Renovation on the outside of the hotel.

Review 23:The location of the hotel is very convenient as its next to the city centre and has parking space. The rooms are a bit out dated but very clean, the breakfast was okay and the staff was nice.

Review 24:The road outside is vey noisy. No restaurant available for dinner. While it did not impact on our stay the hotel is undergoing renovations with the outside looking somewhat of a construction zone. But don't let that put you off

Review 25:Being close to the train was a plus. The room was recently renovated with a wonderful modern bathroom. We had a great outlook to the front of the property. Reception were very helpful and breakfast was good. Free wifi and mini bar. Well situated just outside the old city. 250mtr walk.

Review 26:The spaciousness and luxury of the modernized double bedroom and en suite bathroom made us feel we were staying somewhere much grander than four stars would suggest. The hotel reception staff are excellent. We felt nothing was too much trouble. Probably the best Italian hotel I have stayed in for years by far.

Review 27:nao tenho absolutamente nada a reclamar!

Review 29:Hotel was under renovation which disturbed the ambience quite a bit, but as we didn't hang around the hotel anyway it didn't matter. When the renovation is done it should be lovely.

Review 30:Good location for walking to old town; helpful front desk staff; free parking; our room was newly renovated and was modern, comfortable, beautiful, and functional.

Review 31:No printed list of TV channels so one not familiar with Itakian TV is left wandering through the first ones. I did not know that there were global, etc channels . I only looked at 4 channels because the 5th or 6th said that it was not available.

Review 32:Breakfast was excellent

Review 33:Very friendly and helpful staff. Massimo made us feel welcomed immediately and has a wonderful sense of humor. Excellent location to centro and train station; also has easy access for those driving. Rooms are comfortable and attractively designed. Substantial buffet breakfast.

Review 34:There were locals who lingered in the alleys and near the hotel who were a little shady. Definitely be smart and alert when leaving the premises.

Review 35:This hotel is within a short walk from the train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast had a wide variety of choices and was more than plentiful.

Review 36:The hotel is under restoration, the staff is not proffesional, the breakfast is very basic. This hotel is overpriced and the pictures in booking aren't correct.

Review 37:The location is perfect, right to the old town.

Review 38:Room was probably to small for the modern necesities, hard to set a "Lap Top" or even to lay Your head on the Pillow, as the space even in the bed is limited. Probably I could define the room as a Child room, and not even a Student room, but not an Adult Single room. Also, Obvious re-furbishing and re-construction work was in progress in the corridors of the same floor of the room I was allocated. This it is not fair if the room was allocated without previous warning about works. I believe that the Wi-Fi problems were also related to the distance of the room from the reception/server. The Concierge dismiss this as: "sorry, the system is out of order, we have no solutions until tomorrow"....not a good answer for a Hotel that advertize Free Wi-Fi.

Review 39:The welcoming, the personalized attention and information. Close to parks and amenities, limited noises. Excellent Breakfast, the Old Fashioned Way, You can boil eggs in 3 minutes, get good coffee from the bar, and get great variety of Breads and Fruits.

Review 40:The bed was small and uncomfortable. All the facilities are quite old (at least look so). Parking is free ...if you find a place (entrance is unlimited and noone cares of that).

Review 41:Position in the city. It's right in the very heart of the city. Free parking. Good shower in the room.

Review 42:Not the hotel's fault, but alley next to hotel leading to old town seems to be the meeting place of job or homeless people. Although room was newly renovated a considerable amount black mold was already sprouting around the lower edges of the shower.

Review 43:Very spacious room and bathroom. Parking right in front of hotel and free of charge. Newly renovated rooms (renovation of parts of hotel still in progress). Good above average breakfast. Sound proofed room.

Review 44:Nothing, this is a great place to stay in

Review 45:Everything, we had a great stay. The room was very spacious, nicely furnished and, very importantly, the staff was very nice and welcoming. Hotel very close to the station and a few steps away from the pedestrian area. Vicenza is not a big city, so this is a good location to stay in. Restaurants very close, supermarket, and shops.

Review 46:The hotel is essentially a building site whilst it is being rebuilt. Our room being immediately next door to heavy duty hammering and drilling making it unihabitable during the day. Noise from the area outside was bad at the weekend too. Breakfast did not live up to other reviews. This is an expensive hotel and not recommended.

Review 47:The room was good and the hotel is close to the old parts of the city.

Review 48:The hotel is not at all how it appears from the Booking.com site. The same is to be said for the rooms: I was given a room far less modern than it appears from the pictures published in the site, and actually I do not believe that my room can be rated "4 stars".

Review 49:Position of the hotel, probably this is the most confortable to visit the centre. The parking site is right in front of the hotel.

Review 50:Renovations were taking place and we were not informed in advance. However, they did not disturb us.

Review 51:The room had an amusing, if astonishing décor; good colours and good bed linen Well located for main city, although it is outside the walls

Review 52:Insufficient storage space for clothes. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. No hot food options at breakfast other than scrambled and boiled eggs. Slow internet connection when using communal computer in lobby.

Review 53:Good location (train station & historic core of city about 5 and 10 minutes walk away respectively). Friendly and helpful reception staff and attentive and accommodating waiter staff at breakfast. Nicely furnished and clean room with good en-suite featuring a multi-coloured light setting option in shower. Reasonably good breakfast options. Well-stocked mini-fridge-bar. Relatively quiet despite the close proximity of a (temporary?) fairground and on-going construction works at the hotel, which weren't too intrusive.

Review 54:Very friendly and a good breakfast. Very nice rooms. Parking and very close to the entrance of the nice city of Vicenza. We will absolutely come back for a second visit.

Review 55:Not much except the price, also the ongoing renovation. Not much could be done about either though!

Review 56:I loved the service provided both at reception and by the excellent male breakfast waiter. They even provided me with a bike which was brilliant for seeing Vicenza. And very helpful getting some clothes cleaned. All in all great, I will return!

Review 57:-Apparently not so near of the center of Vicenza, but the town is very small, so everything is at easy walking distance.

Review 58:-Bikes available, included in the price. The best way to explore the town! -Good breakfast. Really good expresso! -Near the train station.

Review 59:The shower was not spotless There are some construction works in progress so the appearance of the hotel is not the best (anyway this is something temporary)

Review 60:Excellent location Spacious rooms Wi-Fi available Breakfast included Parking spaces available Concierge 24h

Review 61:Excellent position, near the center, but still aside.

Review 62:Internet's speed is too low.

Review 63:The accomodation is nice and located in strategic area near the center of Vicenza and few step far from station

Review 64:Nothing.. will defo book this hotel again for next visit..

Review 65:Great newly refurbished rooms, the location is really good and staff very helpfull.

Review 66:Staff not helpful or welcoming.

Review 67:The hotel was reasonably convenient and comfortable.

Review 68:Some rooms need slight renovation

Review 69:Room quality and staff

Review 70:Location, cleanliness, great room

Review 71:We spent there two perfect days.

Review 72:The hotel was under renovation

Review 73:Location is next to centro , free parking

Review 74:room was very small

Review 75:perfect location. 5 mins from railway and at entrance to pedestrian area / old town; good standard, good value

Review 76:Location, breakfast, staff, confort

Review 77:cleanliness, wifi

Review 78:location, stuff

Review 79:Perfect in every way. A must stay.

Review 80:Location is great. Room was spacious and airy. Staff were incredibly helpful.

Review 81:The breakfast.

Review 82:Clean and newly decorated room.

Review 83:Nice Room and Great Brekfast

Review 84:Hotel located just outside of the Centro Storico with parking right in front. Easy to visit Museo Palladio and Palazzo Ducale.

Review 85:The large room with sitting area was very beautiful, tastefully decorated and spacious. The person at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.

Review 86:Breakfast too ordinary.

Review 87:Room newly renovated with good taste.

Review 88:Renovations at the same time

Review 89:Great rooms , well decorated and new

Review 90:Noisy open air stage right next door but they did finish by midnight.

Review 91:Ambience, breakfast, staff, price.

Review 92:Receptionist at the first evening wasn't too kind. But the rest of the staff next day was perfect

Review 93:Location, breakfast

Review 94:Staff, rooms, breakfast, location

Review 95:Breakfast OK but not excellent

Review 96:Hotel greatly situated, good rooms & staff very helpful.

Review 97:wifi was very slow

Review 98:good location, just at the entrance of the city center. We were in a refurbished room which was very nice and comfortable

Review 99:the bed is so comfortable! nice staff great location parking

Review 100:NO PROBLEMS

Review 101:THIS IS MY THIRD STAY IN THIS HOTEL, AND I FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE. THE STAFF WAS MUCH IMPROVED, THEY WERE VERY FRIENDLY.

Review 102:Nothing.

Review 103:Location. Breakfast. Bathroom.

Review 104:Reservation is final and non refundable.

Review 105:All of the above. The location is a short walk through the park directly facing the train station, and a few blocks from the Old Centre. We were assigned the quiet room as requested which turned-out to have a Royal décor (each room has its own elegant style - an achievement) with a crown high above gathering the wall-size drapery - quite an enjoyable 'set'. The largest open shower with a whirlpool for a base. A high-quality diversified breakfast. Professional atmosphere throughout.

Review 106:no restaurant in hotel and not very much choice within walking distance (but desk clerck recommended a good one).

Review 107:The hotel is within walking distance of both railway station and city center. The room was lovely and the hotel not too big and provided a personal service. Good breakfast buffet

Review 108:The hotel is shabby and not what you'd expect of 4 star accommodation. It is being renovated and the front looks like a building site. The air conditioning was a waste if time, it pumped out warm air. We couldn't open the windows because there was loud music being played outside. Not a restful stay at all.

Review 109:The staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 110:Structure old, not so clean, shower floor in poor conditions, doesn't seems a 4 stars. Booking rooms in Italy are probably the worst.

Review 111:Silence, privacy, big bathroom

Review 112:Prior to booking we were unaware that building works were in progress although (as it was the weekend) this did not directly affect our stay apart from the lack of the evening dining option. Sadly, the immediate area outside the hotel seems to be a popular meeting point for the local 'dossers' but they seem harmless enough.

Review 113:The new refurbished room was very nice, comfortable & quiet

Review 114:Unfortunately, the African immigrants who hang out at the corner ofCampo Marzio are terribly loud and drunk. They often harass peoplewalking by. They offer you drugs for sale. I witnessed what appearedto be under aged Italian kids buying from them. Campo Marzio makesevery effort to keep their guest comfortable but can only do so much. The fault is with the Italian law enforcement. The police arestationed around the corner and make no effort to eliminate thiscancer to society.

Review 115:Interrupted construction site! Just some renovated rooms so try to book those (although much more expensive....), because the others are old, dirty, very hot, it's difficult to open and close the window .... Of the many recently built hotels in Vicenza surely this does not excel in terms of value for money!

Review 116:Public computer slow. Hard work printing airline check-in voucher, though very helpful hotel manager sorted it.

Review 117:Helpful and obliging staff. Well places for railway station and town centre.

Review 118:It was a great old school hotel with very spacious rooms and bathrooms, rare to find these days. I felt like I was in Cuba. Location is excellent for those arriving with cars, since it is situated at the brinks of the pedestrian old town, but it has its own parking. Staff spoke excellent English.

Review 119:Only one point is negative that breakfast isnt super. It is not for 4 star hotel.

Review 120:Location are great and very near to center of city. Very good stuff. New rooms is excellent.

Review 121:Nothing to dislike

Review 122:Excellent breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. 250metres from railway station; very convenient for arrival or departure by train. Close to centre of old city and to all museums. Close to the excellent restaurant Antico Ristorante agli Schioppi.

Review 123:There were gatherings of youths in the vicinity which did not make me feel safe going around after dusk.

Review 124:Pleasant staff, excellent coffee, silent room furnished in good taste and, on top of it - changing colour lights in the shower, that was a hit!

Review 125:The rather overpowering smell of room freshener in the foyer. Groups of young black men congregate in the vicinity of the hotel's front door at night but they seem harmless.

Review 126:My single room was small...the plasma TV seemed the largest thing in it ... but so prettily decorated and furnished. Like the bathroom it was spotless. I really appreciated the free WiFi.The hotel is a brief walk from the railway station, and just outside the old town wall. After Venice, it was refreshing to be somewhere not absolutely deluged with tourists. And Vicenza is less than 30 minutes by train from Venice.
