Reviews for Quinta Dos Moinhos De Sao Filipe

Review 1:The villa was amazing, so peaceful and tranquil. The lady of the house was so helpful and recommended a load of stuff. This place would be perfect for a small family as there is a private playground for the kids.

Review 2:The road up to the hotel was tricky!

Review 3:This is a beautiful place to stay and offers delightful surroundings both inside and outside of the hotel Breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the bay

Review 4:Everything about the property was fine except it is a bit far from town and was hard to find.

Review 5:really unusual property. Nice ocean view, pool and patio areas in which to relax. Nice modern bathroom. Room was comfortable. Would have loved to stay in one of the windmill houses which were a bit more. Helpful and friendly staff. Very accommodating.

Review 6:Breakfast was minimal (ham and cheese in the fridge) for that type of pricing, we had to have an extra breakfast outside with some warm food.

Review 7:Excellent conservation of old windmills in the middle of a beautiful park. Stunning view and 5 Min to Setubal's city center. Great experience.

Review 8:The bed was just a little hard.

Review 9:The view was stunning and it was very peaceful and welcoming. Felt very much like a BNB and that I was a guest in someone's home. Not in walking distance to town but taxi was only 6 euros.

Review 10:It's quite tough to find when coming by car, so plan well in advance.

Review 11:The villa is absolutely gorgeous, with old style furniture and a classy atmosphere.

Review 12:Breakfast was a bit formulaic with lacklustre cheese and ham. Loud music until 4am one night from a local music festival but otherwise very quiet and beautiful.

Review 13:Views are spectacular and the property is close to the interesting town of Setuba. The owner was very helpful.

Review 14:This apartment is in a renovated windmill and is beautiful and spacious. The view of the Bay of Setubal is spectacular. The apartment is spotlessly clean and most attractive. The hostess was so sweet and accommodating.

Review 15:Quinta dos Moinhos is just as good as it looks in the photos. Wonderful views across the Sado river and a short drive into the attractive and interesting city of Setùbal . Very friendly and helpful owner.

Review 16:The breakfast was not very elaborate; we went back to Setubal to buy a bit more ourselves. The bed was too small for two friends to share, so one of us slept on the sofa downstairs. The water pressure in the shower was not very strong.

Review 17:The view was breathtaking! The mill was gorgeous, and the staff was very kind! Despite some small negative points it was an excellent stay, and we really enjoyed it!

Review 18:This is a wonderfully comfortable and charming place to stay with incredibly pleasant and helpful staff. The owner is always available to answer any questions about the area is also full of great suggestions of things to do and see. And the views are incredible too!

Review 19:We thought the property was beautifully located with a fabulous view of the sea and the surrounding countryside. The property was a beautifully converted windmill with some great features including a secret lookout, a fire (which we needed!) and a beautiful terrace (which we didn't need, but would be lovely in Summer) Nicely equipped and well maintained. Easy to find which sometimes is difficult for these 'out of the way' places. A friendly owner and staff.

Review 20:was a little difficult to find the location as there was road blocks in the town. The address was not exactly correct in google maps.....keep driving up the road a couple more minutes to find the quinta. No issue with the establishment itself though

Review 21:great location. View was amazing to wake up to and have breakfast to

Review 22:A car is mandatory to make full use of the advantages of the hotel

Review 23:Beautifully restored old windmill with attention to detail Beautiful landescape at the border of a national park Very friendly staff Well kept hotel pool Quiet relaxing atmorphere

Review 24:Bed was only 1m40 wide which is too small for this price and room type. Breakfast is OK but a piece of fruit would be welcome. Nothing else to dislike!

Review 25:Beautiful location on the edge of the Arrabida national park. Close to beautiful beaches (Coelho, Galapos) We had one of the cozy renovated windmills which was a special experience. Amazing views over the ocean and surrounding mountains. Theresa, the owner, gave us a very friendly welcome. Parking space is available on the domain, very convenient. Large pool with enough seating. Recommended!

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:Beautiful location, excellent service, cosy inside

Review 28:Nice and relaxing holiday with a beautiful view.

Review 29:Views were fantastic, pool was great, accommodation unusual in a positive sense. Very clean, helpful staff

Review 30:Great staff who went out their way to help

Review 31:Simplistic breakfast. The invoice of our stay wasn't provided.

Review 32:Excellent location. Friendly staff. Very clean facilities.

Review 33:the location, the silence, the assistance and kindness of the staf, great value for money

Review 34:Nothing comes to ind.

Review 35:The location and the view. You can see over the entrance to Setubal and the city.

Review 36:The view and the comfort. Felt like a home! Amazing breakfast!

Review 37:no evening dining available.

Review 38:unusual location, beautifully kept property, expertly designed by the owners

Review 39:We have nothing bad to say.

Review 40:We liked everything about our stay.

Review 41:Very peaceful and private location. Cosy living room for our disposal with a fantastic view.

Review 42:Superb location. Excellent interior finish. Brilliant base for a short visit to the Arabida national park. Grand country walks for those who love hills. Must have some of the best views on that coastline

Review 43:We found it very difficult to find as we did not have a Stat Nav in the hire car.Fortunately we eventually got hold of the Manager who was able to give us directions. It needs to be sign posted from Setubal. The double bed was very small and uncomfortable, as there were only the 2 of us, we made use of the sofa bed and slept separately (not ideal).

Review 44:The accommodation was excellent. Very relaxing and beautiful views. The pool was lovely and clean and was a welcome addition when hot. All the cooking facilities were good and plentiful. The warm breakfast rolls were lovely, and it was nice not to have a early breakfast as in most B&B'S. We didn't need him, but it was nice to know that the Manager was onsite should we need anything.

Review 45:It can be quite windy so it was odd to find that the windows weren't equipped with stays to keep them from being blown around when open.

Review 46:Fantastic view of the sea and town of Setubal.

Review 47:Very hard to find even with GPS(aim for the Pousada, it is just next toit). This is bed and breakfast and not a hotel. Breakfast very modest.

Review 48:Beautiful location and view of the ocean.

Review 49:Dangerous approach road last 500 m. The double bed in bedroom is narrow 1,40 m and a hard mattress, pillow is not good as well. The bathroom contains shower and WC in one room and are very small and outdated. Poor facilities in kitchen, no washing dishes machine, no enough dishes, we had no even tea cattle. Very small refrigerator. The breakfast is: 2 slices of cheese, 2 slices of beckon, 1 yogurt, 1 jam, 1 package of juice and milk, fresh bread.

Review 50:Many thanks for hospitality of Mrs.Teresa, she is Perfect location for relaxation with amazing view. Cleaning every day. There is a super big kids ground in the forest. Kids will be really happy! Internet WiFi is OK, but not so speedy.

Review 51:The bed was a little too hard for us. Owners need to continue to invest to maintain the current high standards.

Review 52:The best location on the mountain overlooking Setubal's spectacular bay and the Troia peninsula. Windmills are very well appointed with lots of indoor and outdoor space - fantastic views. Lovely mature wooded grounds. Friendly welcome and efficient service from the manager.

Review 53:The place is difficult to find: the GPS sent us into the boonies. Once you know it is up to the castle but keep right it is easy. A sign at the bottom of the hill would be helpful.

Review 54:Beautiful house with a spectacular view on the estuary. Large terraces with a lovely pool. Comfortable room with a very personal homely atmosphere. Lovely living room, very tastefully decorated. Very discrete staff but efficient and helpful. We stayed only one night but might have spent a whole soothing week there.

Review 55:There wasn't anything not to like.

Review 56:It is set in an absolutely unique and wonderful location. The views of the sea and of Troia beach are breathtaking. Fantastic place for relaxation.

Review 57:No dining possibility. Had to drive back into Setubal to eat. Remote, but worth the extra drive to get there.

Review 58:It was surprisingly cold weather, but the heating was turned up immediately and our stay was very comfortable. Beautiful views.

Review 59:Although a bit expensive, it is really worth it. The room was great, staff very friendly and you really feel like home. A very steep climb when you're backpacking though! But again; it was worth it. The house is nicely decorated.

Review 60:The place was very well located, a 2min drive from the town center. The view of the sea and Arrabida was incredible! Some reviews had me concerned about the breakfast, but in my opinion it was very good, it wasn't a typical hotel breakfast (no eggs or bacon or unhealthy food, maybe they had it if you asked..) but it was served in good quantity and quality!

Review 61:The villa windmill was amazing- the interior, the ocean views and thefresh biscuits for breakfast brought directly to out door. Thank you fora wonderful stay. If we come back to portugal, we will definitely staythere again.

Review 62:Very difficult to locate the place (given its remote location).

Review 63:This place was an idyllic and romantic location offering a panoramic view of the sea and the forest (Arrabida Natural Park). The windwill we stayed in was a perfect "home-away-from-home" to relax in and was very well equipped and furnished. There was also a large swimming pool availbale on the site although we did not get to use it.

Review 64:Setubal is a death city. Absolutely nothing to do... Nothing to comparewith Lisbon. As far as Quinta Dos Moinhos, I would say that consideringthe price the frige breakfast is absolutely poor.

Review 65:The location is absolutely amazing. The view is fantastic. The place...Difficult to find words for describing it...

Review 66:Breakfast was rather basic. They leave some ingredients in the fridge and bring fresh bread in the morning.

Review 67:We stayed at one of the windmills which was fantastic. Teresa , the owner, was very kind and helpful

Review 68:The location was spectacular with stunning views. The owner could not have been more helpful and suggested good places to eat. We stayed in one of the windmills which was really comfortable and well equipped. Would definately recommend it but you do need a car.

Review 69:I loved the privacy of the place, the amazingly beautiful view, the most friendly, curteous and helpful staff as well as the obvious attention to detail and nicely selected interior of the apartments. The whole place conveys a sense of pure relaxation and one is perfectly able to leave the stress of everyday life behind and enjoy some peaceful moments inmidst a natural surrounding. The way up the hill to the location is already really nice. On the other hand it is not too remote and you always have the chance to quickly make a tour to either Lisbon, the beautiful countryside of the Alentejo province as well as enjoy the beautiful beaches that are just a ferry ride away.

Review 70:The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the shared living room has afireplace, wonderful views of the bay, and music if you like. The owneris very pleasant and helpful. It is only a 5 minute drive from Setubal, yet very quiet. A convenient location to explore the Arrábida, the Sadoestuary, Troya, or even drive into Lisbon.

Review 71:View, property- fantastic place

Review 72:No dislikes

Review 73:Charming host who made us very welcome in her beautiful and comfortable home.

Review 74:Hard and small beds No outside chairs Location difficult to find.

Review 75:Friendly people Fantastisch view

Review 76:Nothing not to like

Review 77:Fabulous location, wonderful staff, class, solitude, quality in everything. Coming back for sure.

Review 78:* a very nice view over Setubal harbour and the sea * absolutely quiet * comfortable and nice ambiente * excellent for leisure

Review 79:Very nice host, you really stay like at home. Great location, great territory. Already miss the place..

Review 80:calme et la vue magnifique le petit dej

Review 81:Rooms lack direct access to terrace. Direct access to swimming pool though

Review 82:Beautifully located above Setubal.

Review 83:Very good service; the hotel has a beautuful view over the city and the the rooms are very nice.

Review 84:The location. The welcome. Everything!

Review 85:Spectacular view, great place to relax with nice restaurants nearby, beaches, mountains, ...

Review 87:Very friendly Super nice location Superb view Nice pool area

Review 88:Nice views

Review 89:Fantastic location, wonderful views and a friendly welcome. Excellent play area for kids as well!

Review 90:Everything was fine, the Lady and the staff is great!

Review 91:Smal bed met te harde matras. Zeer beperkt ontbijt, niet in verhoudingmet prijs.

Review 92:Prachtige uitzicht. Zeer verzorgd interieur.
