Reviews for Hotel Arangues
Review 1:Requested early access to room by email the day before arrival. No answer. Only on arrival were we told we couldn't enter the room until 1500. Then they forgot to inform cleaning staff so we had to wait outside the room while they cleaned it until 1530. Moral: they should answer requests made in email bookings
Review 2:Not very central but very near station if you're on foot.
Review 3:internet got off every now and then, no balkony and so no location for drying swimsuits outside
Review 4:Very friendly and helpful staff, english was no problem, breakfast buffet was simple and good with bread, muesli, jam, fresh fruits, honey, cheese and sausage, clean rooms, large bathroom
Review 5:The hotel is very well located a few minutes from the station. The staff very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is more than just ham and cheese. I was really happy with my experience, and definitely recommend.
Review 6:Suggestions: the hotel could have a pool to make it even better!
Review 7:Very helpful and friendly staff with excellent English skills. Within walking distance from the train, the town, fantastic market, Pizza Hut, the ferry to a really good beach and the main bus station. Easy access by car and good parking possibilities. Very few foreign tourists - an authentic place!
Review 8:There are constructions in the building and we were awaken at 8 am because of the noise. The staff was not able to recommend a place to have dinner or drinks.
Review 9:The room was clean and the staff was friendly.
Review 10:The town closed early making finding somewhere to eat a challenge
Review 11:Right in the middle of town. 3star well furnished hotel. Fluent English speaking receptionist. Secure garage parking 5 euros per space per night. We parked 3 motorbikes in one space for that price. Hotel bar very reasonable. Bottled beer at about £2,25 a pint. No evening meal but plenty of local options. Air con room. Decent bathroom. Powerful shower with ample hot water. Limited TV channels but that might be Region rather than hotel. Breakfast standard cold buffet with cereals, yogurt, juice, breads, meats and cheese
Review 12:TV not good. Rooms cold.
Review 13:The staff. The buffet breakfast INCLUDED in the price. Only 10 minute walk to train station. Easy to get to Lisbon by train. Only 10 minute walk to downtown.
Review 14:- the neighbourhood may appear a bit dangerous, but it is not
Review 15:- the position close to the center - the free parking facing the hotel - the rate - kind staff
Review 16:The staff was very friendly. Good location. The room was big and clean. WiFi worked very well Breakfast was ok but it could be improved. They had the same thing every day ( bread, croissants, ham, cheese, some cereal and yoghurt, nothing hot like an omelet for example). It's ok for a couple of days but you get tired of the same thing after that.
Review 17:Room servicing was late in the afternoon just as we wanted to rest after walking around most of the day. The location (5 minutes from the city centre) leaves a lot to be desired - walking into the city as directed by hotel staff took us through very run-down areas (Graffiti everywhere) and was 25 minutes before we reached what we considered to be a "safe" area! The hotel maps are out of date and misleading (no one-way systems shown,) Trying to get into the city by car was quite difficult but, when there, car parking was available and cheap - €2 for 4 hours.
Review 18:Hotel is a bit dated now. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean but basic for a 3* hotel, no refrigerator in the room!
Review 19:Staff was absolutely amazing. Beds comfortable. All tidy and nice.

Review 56:Location
Review 57:Value for money and staff willingness to help all the time.
Review 58:Area seemed very run down. As we only stayed one night differcult to for sure as we didn't have time to explore area.
Review 59:Staff, service, location to city centre and good parking very close to car park.
Review 60:Very noisy if someone talks in nearby room, upper or lower. Sound in a canalization tube looks like a leak from the ceiling in the bothroom. In a 50 m trains regularly run.
Review 61:Big room. Big bothroom. Good restaurant nearby.
Review 62:TV in the room was small, old and with a poor selection of channels.
Review 63:The hotel was very comfortable even if the furnishings were a little tired. Breakfast was good.
Review 64:No tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms
Review 65:Clean and comfortable basic hotel with friendly staff, good value for money. We enjoyed the two night stay.
Review 66:It is situated closed to the train station and bus station, but a bit out of the downtown and the harbour.
Review 67:We had an unforeseen difficulty but the staff helped us very kindly. The room was nice and the breakfast too.
Review 68:Quality relevant to the price (40 EUR per double room) Location very good and extremely helpful staff Regular breakfast (bread, ham, cheese, jam, croissants, coffee, tea)

Review 73:well-located, easy walk into historical center; ample free parking; helpful staff and ample breakfast
Review 74:The breakfast was adequate, but the instant coffee was grim. Next time I'll take my own!
Review 75:Good-sized room, very comfortable bed; very helpful staff.
Review 76:Hotel a little tired,although clean.
Review 77:Well-located, within walking distance of the "downtown", good free parking available, helpful and friendly staff.
Review 78:Setubal seems like an authentic Portuguese city not overrun by tourism (at least when we visited in May) with a historical (albeit a little run down) city center, with lots of opportunities for hiking close by and beaches in the immediate vicinity. Hotel Arangues is close to both the train station and the bus terminal and every part of the city (including the center and the ferry docks) is within walking distance. The hotel itself is clean with decent service and is relatively sophisticated considering the extremely low price.
Review 79:Our room smelled a bit of smoke, and that wouldn't be a problem except that the windows aren't the kind that can stay open, there's the need for someone there to hold it.
Review 80:The breakfast is simple but really good, the staff were very friendly. There's lots of space to park your car in front of the hotel, and it's also free. Everything in the room was very clean.
Review 81:Close to bus and train station. Within one hour by train into Lisbon. Good seafood restaurants within easy walking distance. Hotel receptionist very good and good command of English.
Review 82:In the dinning/breakfast room was no heating so in this time of the year cold. People were eating with their coots on.... Also the temperature of the warm water during showering was not very warm.
Review 83:The rooms were very clean and the staff, as far as necessary, very help full and friendly. The temperature in the rooms were very nice, you could set this yourself.
Review 84:Very old hotel in Setubal. Its in a housing complex so you look at the balconies of the neighbors, but also have a little look at the sea. Need a car to go to the centre of the town, it`s a 5 minute drive. Have to pay for Wifi, and it`s expensive.
Review 85:At Hotel Arangues we were greeted by incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Our room had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. The hotel is well located and our room was very reasonably priced.
Review 86:The heating (in the room) was broken, so the room was quite cold. Also, even though it was a non-smoking hotel, the room smelled of smoke.
Review 87:The room was simple, clean and quiet. There was free parking rightopposite the hotel. The breakfast was very good with excellent service.
Review 88:We had difficulty in initially locating the hotel, particularly with theheavy city traffic. A better location map would have helped considerably
Review 89:Excellent for a short stay
Review 90:The room was old and looking tired, tv from the 80's, the colors in the hotel were insane :D

Review 108:Very small room, overtight control over an extra item took during breakfast.
