Reviews for Leon Bianco
Review 1:The staff was friendly but they did not make a huge impression on us. The breakfast was adequate for the price.
Review 2:The location right on the square is perfect. It's worth it to spend a little more and get a larger room with windows that open onto the square. It's clean and well decorated.
Review 3:Compared to other hotels in the region, it might be a little expensive, but in general terms it's a very good hotel.
Review 4:Location is perfect, San Giminiano is beautiful.
Review 5:Nothing!
Review 6:This is a perfect stay in San Gimignano! Right in the main square, with a marvellous view... Charming, confortable, big room, good bath, delicious breakfast included! Best stay in Italy!
Review 7:Mold and mildew in shower stall, and quite a lot of it. No heat yet but gave us wool blankets.
Review 8:Location is wonderful. Hard to find in a tight old medeival City centre but worth the find. Views in back of hotel up high are the best.
Review 9:no complaints
Review 10:Location was wonderful. Nice hotel and intetesting architecture. It was possible to drive into the auto restricted zone to drop off luggage and it was about a 5 minute walk up the hill into the town.Breakfast was good. WiFi worked.
Review 11:There were no bad experiences at Leon Bianco. We had no car so parking was not an issue.
Review 12:Friendly reception. Excellent location. Really nice room. Ambience of this hotel was really good and excellent breakfast in open air area.
Review 13:Bed coul be softer.
Review 14:Great location in the middle of everything. Nice breakfast included with room. Park in front of hotel to unload then go to lot #3 to park car. 10 minute walk and 15 euros per day parking fee.
Review 15:Hotel is now a bit old style and might need some renovation. Rooms are clean but really basic and even the confort rooms are not so charmy as you could expect. Good price but might be slightly disappointing.
Review 16:Great location, on central piazza. Very nice staff. nice breakfast. The room offered was very small and dark, we asked to change and we had a better one, with bigger windows. Appreciated.
Review 17:The only bad thing about this hotel is if you are arriving by car you have to navigate through some rather narrow midievel streets in order to drop your luggage off, then drive back to the public parking spaces on the edge of town and walk back. Small price to pay for a wonderful stay.
Review 18:The location of this hotel is as good as it can get for exploring San Gimingnano. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is very helpful.
Review 19:The location was great. The people was great. I can't say much more than that really. It's what you would expect of a tourist hotel. However with a personal touch to make you feel at home.
Review 20:The location was superb, right in the middle of the main square. We had a huge room with two windows overlooking the square, with a very modern bathroom and excellent WiFi. Also had an iron and ironing board in the room.
Review 21:tiny (and slightly claustrophobic) bathroom with no window and quite humid. "industrial" breakfast with limited choices. not a real double bed (two single beds put together), very hot room despite some air conditioning.
Review 22:central in San Gimignano well equiped and nice decoration
Review 23:Perfect central location with parking outside walls(hotel will provide shuttle back to your car!), spacious room with beautiful views of town center and the Tuscan countryside! Some of our best photos were from our room's windows! Plus incredible breakfast buffet in the morning! Friendly staff too.
Review 24:We were there for only one night but it was lovely. Easy to find as it was right on the piazza. Room was spacious & clean. With window shut (our room overlooked the piazza) & a/c on it was quiet & comfortable. The staff was helpful and kind.
Review 25:Location is great and generous room sizes with views to hills. We went for a basic double, which felt a little spartan but it was clean and comfortable for one night.
Review 26:Taxi from Pisa dropped us off at gate and we had to pull cases up hill to hotel. Was sorted out afterwards by hotel.
Review 27:Location. Room to front. You feel in the heart of Tuscany.
Review 28:If we have to mention one, our only little grumble would be the limited wi-fi accessibility.
Review 29:We like good service, but not the over-pampering and fuss at many high * hotels. Leon Bianco has the balance just right - we were looked after very well, all needs efficiently attended to by the friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Its a lovely hotel in a fantastic location, with beautiful rooms which are sound proof and air conditioned, so very comfortable. Its surrounded by nice restaurants, lots of interesting places to visit within the town and in the locality, with all sorts of events going on in the square right outside the front door. Fantastic breakfast too!
Review 30:Parking is a bit far and not free, but unavoidable due to the hotel's location inside the city walls.
Review 31:Great location, super clean, perfect WiFi, varied breakfast. What more can I say? :)
Review 32:We didn't have a bad experienc but you do need to be aware this is a tourist 'Mecca'. Once they have gone for the day the town Is a delightful place to be.
Review 33:We had a room with a view and well worth what we paid. It was simply wonderful staying in the middle of the main piazza. Very close to absolutely everything and could explore safely all the town. We hired bikes and spent a day cycling the surrounding countryside. You could also hire vespers or cars from same place - Bellinnis. They staff were very friendly and accommodating at all times if the day. Wifi was excellent as were the outstanding breakfasts. The room was generous in size as was the bathroom. The bed was quite comfortable. Just ask for extra pillows if one is not enough for you. Our room was serviced every day of our stay (3nights). We loved our stay at Leon Bianchi.
Review 34:nothing.
Review 35:The staff were so helpful and friendly. Lovely hotel in an amazing location. Rooms were very comfortable and breakfast was great, something for everyone.Bathrooms were huge so no problems. Would definitely stay here again with any doubt, in fact organizing a trip for 2016
Review 36:the Wi Fi was poor and the breakfast could be improved , no toast , limited choice
Review 37:the location is excellent. Staff were friendly and. helpful. the double glazing which was needed was very good.
Review 38:From the start Leon Bianco was so helpful, we messed up out days and came early, and they did everything to find a spot for us. The place has that true feel of a medieval town. The rooms were spacious and very clean....but I think my wife will kill me for selecting "mature" travelers...seeing she is 32 :)
Review 39:Perfect location right in the centre of village. We loved the fantastic country view from our window. After a hot day out in the Tuscany sun we very much enjoyed the jacuzzi in the hotel. Breakfast was also exellent.
Review 40:The bathroom was a little tight, which was not a problem for me as a solo traveler. The door touches the sink when opened.
Review 41:The concierge service was perfect. They were very helpful in planning my stay and transportation. The bed was comfortable, and the room was a good size. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options. Excellent value for the price.
Review 42:Nothing really! Parking was ok if you didn't mind walking a distance, but that was the same for all the hotels there.
Review 43:Location is unbeatable, the hotel has a welcoming feel and has been renovated to a high standard, the staff were very knowledgeable and very helpful with anything you needed. We had a double bed room with a view of the piazza which was magical and not too noisy because of the double glass windows. Indoor/outdoor breakfast area was lovely.
Review 44:Excellent rooms and views, attractive foyer. Was surprised to find they had a table tennis and billiard table. Also a Jacuzzi tub although we didn't see that being used. Very friendly helpful staff.
Review 45:The only slight downside was that the bedroom overlooked cisterna square which was still noisy with street musicians after midnight . So late nights were necessary
Review 46:The location was perfect for a first time visitor to San Gimignano. Staff were helpful in solving minor issues and organising trips and taxis
Review 47:the guy at the front desk didn't explaing what he was charging only after he charged, he should speak english much better so that tourists can understand him. san gimingano is a place full of tourists
Review 48:the location is amazing right at piazza cisterna. the food was good, the room was excellent. the ladies at the reception really helped
Review 49:The parking situation is not good, you can't get close to the hotel and have to walk up a steep via to the hotel. At night this is more difficult.
Review 50:Locale is good.
Review 51:Nothing at all!
Review 52:The hotel was absolutely out of this world. The location was unbeatable- right on the main square. It was spotlessly clean throughout. Very helpful staff. Outstanding value for money.
Review 53:If you're after a quiet night - request a room that does not look on to the square
Review 54:Amazing location Guests can drive right up to the hotel to drop-off/pick up Air-con. A rarity and necessity in July/Aug
Review 55:Right in the heart of the old city of San Gimignano, the hotel was walking distance to everything. It was fun to stay in an old building, yet the hotel had all the amenities needed.
Review 56:Excellent hotel in a supurb location in the centre of San Giminano. We had a problem with the toilet where water was constantly flushing, they had a plumber come out on the same day and fix, staff where really helpful and nice. Breakfast was good for 3 star and also had a pool table and jakuzzi. The wifi was also excellent better than most 4-5 star hotels. This is great hotel for value for money a must if going to San Giminano
Review 57:Nothing to dislike about this place. Best ever. Will return.
Review 58:Location is fantastic. Tourists leave and you have the place to yourselfall night. Awesome place at night and best dinner in italy.
Review 59:The location was the best you could ask for... San Gimignano is lovely and being in the center of it was great. The breakfast was very nice, lots of choices.
Review 60:The location is excellent, best there is in San Gimignano. The staff kindness and helpfulness was superb, especially the blond lady at reception. We highly recommend it!
Review 61:Nothing bad to say. Great place. Very glad we stayed.
Review 62:Right in the middle of town, was perfect. Once the day crowds dispersed, the village was quaint with many restuarants & places to sit, watch the world go by just outside the motel, or just watch it all happen from my window, yet double glazing quiet it for sleep. Clean, lovely motel, great breakie too.
Review 63:Bed was too 'firm' (hard) for our liking, but we did sleep well. Bathroom & toilet access was 'compact'. Still functional, but squeezy.
Review 64:Location ! Views from our room ! Thursday Market in the Piazza out front.! Staff were great. ! Driving into San Gimignano through the tight one way streets and into the Piazza, parking up front of the Hotel to off-load the cases was an 'experience' to have.
Review 65:The lift broke down when we were about to leave. Lucky we only had to carry our luggage down, not up.
Review 66:We had a lovely room with a view of the countryside. The breakfast, on the terrace, was magnificent.
Review 67:The hotel is excellently located, overlooking one of the main squares in San Gimignano. The Staff are very helpful especially the ladies at the front desk. There's a good variety of food during bfast and the hotel is very clean. Would definately recommend and stay there again.
Review 68:Nothing with hotel. Not the hotel, but one of the restaurants recommended - Peruca - food we had was excellent, but they had run out of all sides except spinach and salad, which was a bit disappointing.
Review 69:Hotel with ideal situation in main square. Staff are very helpful, restaurant recommendations were very nice. Instructions to unload luggage and then park car very clear. Breakfast good, with outside terrace.
Review 70:Only difficulty was driving to the B&B to drop off luggage since we were unable to walk the strenuous uphill/downhill streets to parking area. Parking was great once you found it.
Review 71:Everything...the room was comfortable, the view was of the Piazza, the windows were triple panes which made the room very quiet at bedtime, breakfast area was indoors or on a beautiful terrace next to the breakfast area. Breakfast was hot and cold and excellent both days. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 72:Wow, what a fabulous location. We had rooms overlooking the Piazza, but not noisy during the night and we had our window open. Just a little murmur of people talking in the restaurants on the piazza earlier in the evening.Very luxurious high ceilings, very clean overall. Shower on the small side, but good pressure and water hot, also not as small as some we had on the trip. Bed was firm, but that seems to be a constant in Italy. Breakfast was pretty good, quite a few choices. Coffee made to order. we drove so had to park none of the car parks outside the walls, not a problem, the closest one was 20 euro per night or you could park farther away much cheaper. Good wifi.
Review 73:Wonderful location on the piazza, generous, courteous and accommodating owners. I was much too early, but they happily took me up and got me settled in my room - very welcome after a long bus trip.
Review 74:Bed was too firm for our liking, breakfast was average at best which was a bit disappointing given the good quality of the hotel overall
Review 75:Convenient position
Review 78:If I would have any critique, it would be that we found the bed to be to firm, and we like to sleep on firm mattresses.
Review 79:We stayed for 3 nights and found this to be a great hotel. Everything positive that we read about this place was true. Great location. We found the breakfast to be over and above what other places served. Would love to reserve here again.
Review 80:It is an old building and very well decorated and excelent rooms and my wife is gluton intolerant and was very well looked after at breakfast with gluton free food
Review 81:Highlight was the private wine tour arranged by reception. If staying here ask hotel to contact Laura and arrange visit to her vineyard. Although hotel doesn't have a restuarant, but do provide breakfast, there are plenty of great places for lunch or dinner within yards of hotel.
Review 82:Bed was too soft for my taste.
Review 83:Large, quiet room, modern facilities in an old building. Staff were very helpful. Good breakfast including scrambled eggs etc.
Review 84:We had no bad experiences at this hotel.
Review 85:The location of the hotel, the relaxed informal and efficient staff. We had room 36 which gave us views of both the Square and the Tuscan hills. We felt that San Gimigano had much to offer us as first time visitors to the area. We shall certainly return.
Review 86:Breakfast was good but not great. The coffee was horrible - but I requested an expresso which was excellent.
Review 87:The staff were excellent. The decor is perfect for this region. The room was a good size with seating area and despite overlooking the square could be noisy, it was not and in fact, perfectly quiet with the windows closed. Beautiful scenery and location. Great wifi. Very good value for money...both couples were very impressed with our respective rooms.
Review 88:San Gimignano is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so you cannot park within the city walls, but you stop for a short while outside the hotel to drop off and collect baggage.
Review 89:The purpose of our visit was to watch the Strade Bianche cycle race which started immediately outside Hotel Leon Bianco. With excellent hospitality as well, our visit could not have been better.
Review 90:Minor little things only and nothing worth deducting points from the review. Internet struggled with the load and kept buffering (Skype would be impossible at peak times for instance).
Review 91:Could not be better located for going around the town. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Price paid was fair.
Review 92:That we've stayed one only night in it!
Review 93:All! One of the best hotels were we have been. An an ancient palace completely refurnished, with a very good service and confort, on t'he best place of San Gimignano!
Review 94:This is a super town to stay in and the hotel is a magnificent location to enjoy a stay here. Lisa was an absolute star and could not do enough to help us. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Review 95:Everything was perfect - location, room, bathroom, beds, flowers everywhere! And it was so nice to have a breakfast under the Orange tree on the terrace. Thank you, Leon Bianco!
Review 96:Nothing
Review 97:Excellent location in the heart of the old town. We had a comfortable spacious room overlooking the Piazza Cisterna. Breakfast was in a pleasant room with a good choice of food.
Review 98:We loved our stay at Leone Bianco. It is perfectly situated to enjoy San Gimignano and the rooms and staff were wonderful. Thoroughly enjoy our second stay.
Review 99:Our bedroom was hot and it felt like there was underfloor heating but we suspect that we were above equipment room and that was where heat coming from. Did not make for a good sleep even with aircon on as that proved a bit draughty. Try not to get put into room 22!
Review 100:Great location in middle of town on one of the main piazzas. Great view from ohr roo m over Tuscan countryside. Good breakfast and helpful staff. Be aware that cannot park close to hotel but kn carpatks out of town. Staff very helpful in explaining options.
Review 101:When we asked for a reciet we were told we were not listed in the computer... After we had insisted, we got the reciet , and it came out that we had been overcharged before - the computer bill made them pay me back 12 euros. I didnt like it at all.
Review 102:vary good hotel, great location, spacious room, nice breakfast, wonderful views reseanable prize We shall visit again any time
Review 103:Your right in the center of town and is a wonderful location. The breakfest was very nice and we enjoyed our stay at Leon Bianco. No problems with the WiFi and the download rate was good. I would book a stay on this hotel again and was a fun place to stay.
Review 104:This was a great location. Friendly staff. Beautiful view of Tuscany. We enjoyed 2 nights. We spent a day in San Gimignano and then the next day went to Siena and drive through the country. It was a great trip. San Gimigiano is a great place. This hotel was very unique and fun.
Review 105:Right from check-in we felt so welcome at Leon Bianco. The staff were incredibly accommodating, helping us to plan our activities in San Gimignano without hesitation. The room is clean, comfortable and the views over the Tuscan landscape is incredible. Hotel is close to everything, including the world's best gelato shop!
Review 106:This is a wonderful hotel to stay in right in the main square. Our room was at the back and had wonderful views of the Tuscan countryside. Breakfast was good and served on a lovely little outside terrace. Would go back.
Review 107:Very well managed, clean hotel in what is arguably one of the best locations in this delightful city. Despite the actual location in a busy piazza, our room was quiet and we were undisturbed. Breakfast provided a good selection to choose from and served on a delightful terrace with marvelous view. Certainly a hotel we would choose to stay at in the future.
Review 108:Location in main town square Friendly and helpful staff Wonderful view from the bedroom window Lovely breakfast on terrace Comfortable and good sized bedroom.
Review 109:Air conditioning did not cool the room as well as I would have liked. Bathroom was a little small and needed more storage area.
Review 110:Walking out the front door into the busy and colorful piazza. Central location to get anywhere in the city. Generous and very good breakfast. Very comfortable bedroom and clean modern bathroom. Extremely helpful and polite staff.
Review 111:Very nice hotel in great location. The whole town is super nice. Friendly staff (lady on arrival was great). Parking is funny and good experience :) Like this place so much!
Review 112:I wished there were a kettle and tea cups in the room. I wanted some tea in the late evening and weren't any.
Review 113:It is a charming hotel located in the centre of the town square. The cakes at breakfast, which I was told, baked by the staff were marvellous!
Review 114:Everything was perfect, and if it wasn't i would say something. Keep up the good work and quality!
Review 115:We stayed two nights in San Gimiginano at the Leon Bianco hotel and it was fantastic. (1) It's location in the center of town at the Cistern Piazza was ideal, very realaxing to sit outside and have a drink after dinner when the crowds left (2) The staff were wonderful, they helped us with dinner reservations and even helped us arrange taxi services to/from florence. Very nice people, thanks Lisa! (3) The hotel was very clean and very well kept. Full breakfast was included and was great.
Review 116:-the staff, who even called around to restaurants to ensure we had tables with a view:) -the location, right in the centre -great breakfast -the amazing views from the dining/sitting room and main bedroom of our apartment -the price
Review 117:Hotel is located in main square. Walking within the town walls early morning before most visitors arrived was a wonderful experience. Reception staff recommended and booked excellent restaurants.
Review 118:Superb location, helpful staff, some with good English, spacious corridors and beautiful lobby, beautiful spacious rooms on first floor, comfortable bed, spacious and new bathroom, cleanliness, views from rooms, very nice breakfast with some tables on a terrace. It felt like a family run hotel, which it may be.
Review 119:Ideally located right in the town square. As you drive through the picturesque Tuscan hills, you arrive into the walls of San Gimignano. An amazing setting within a 1,000 year old medieval town that's vibrant with many things to do and see including museums, shops, restaurants and shows. Truly a wonderful place to stay, we are looking forward to going back! have your camera ready! The staff was wonderful, the rooms are within a structure that transports you back in time. The breakfast is great! ALL GOOD!
