Reviews for The Secret Garden
Review 1:Difficult to find. Very hilly. Would not suggest for someone with disabilities.
Review 2:Large 1 bedroom apt called Carrubo with fantastic views of Amalfi Coast. Friendly and helpful staff who assisted with luggage. Very clean. Private with great gardens. Would stay again.
Review 3:Room like a prison cell (only a small window with bars), bath notparticularly clean, bath tub plumbing not functional, breakfast was ajoke, and worst of all no air conditioning when outside were 38 degreescelsius. Given the fact that temperatures and humidity are almostunbearable during summer in Ravello, it should have been clearly statedthat there was no a/c in the room. Big minus for Booking.com also, because in 2015, when you go to the seaside, you expect climatisation, and if not existent, a very explicit warning instead. It was like goingto the North Pole in a room with no heating. Almost ruined our vacation.
Review 4:Location is exceptional, the best you can find on the Amalfi coast.
Review 5:Loved the view. Peaceful, beautiful garden. Great location for a mature couple. We stayed in the studio, which was basically a garden (vineyards, flowers, fountains) with a hidden room attached. Near the town square, but have to go up the historic stairs (5 minutes) to get there.
Review 6:I almost liked everything in The Secret Garden. But at the end they did not provide us with a proper bill on payment. It was very surprising and shocking to us. They also don't have any reception or proper entrance with the name of the hotel which is very inconvenient for the people staying there.
Review 7:The place was very nice, a proper house with a nice garden and sea view. The staffs are also kind (though they are not around most of the times!). Overall my colleague and I had a pleasant stay!
Review 8:Our legs didn't appreciate the numerous steps to climb up the side of the mountain to the main Square and all the eating places.
Review 9:Our accommodation was a standalone self-contained room set in the most beautiful garden which looks straight out over the Amalfi coast - an amazing view! We loved breakfast being served on the terrace!
Review 10:We arrived at the property after a great deal of difficult travelling/missed connections at which point we were chastised (yes) by the owner for being incredibly rude arriving so late. The next morning she chastised us again at breakfast. She also spoke about us in French with other clients (we both speak and understand French but did not interrupt). Also, when we returned at the end of the day our room had not been touched- no cleaning, bed made, new towels...There also seemed to be a great deal of miscommunication between the owner and booking.com. I have used booking.com before with no issue and this was a true shame. We booked for 2 and were (repeatedly) told it was for one at which point the price we had reserved at on the booking website was DOUBLED, or we were to leave immediately. Also, when we tried to pay this exorbitant new price, we were told the property did not accept any sort of card payment -cash only- even though I had the booking.com confirmation which stated it accepted Visa, Mastercard etc.... Very disappointing. At this point I'm not sure who is to blame for this mix up. Obviously the way this situation was handled on their end is not ideal, but I think booking.com needs to do some more ind depth fact-checking.
Review 11:it was a STUNNING view. The Villa Rufolo is a top site in Ravello and the Secret Garden has essentially the same view. It was a very- VERY- lovely property and we sincerely enjoyed our time in Ravello, but cannot say that we would ever stay here again or recommend it to anyone. It is a true shame. I love traveling to quirky, unique places but this was decidedly uncomfortable and ungracious.
