Review 1：Ordinary dinner in a beautiful surrounding, but too expensive for its quality.

Review 3：What an experience! We booked a Suite and it was just huge. We had beautiful views over the town and the sea. We ate dinner there and it was reasonability priced considering the service. The accommodation is actually in the old convent adjacent to the castle but the castle is very interesting to walk through anyway. If you are going to stay in a castle anywhere, I'd recommend this one for a very special occasion.

Review 6：Terrible smell of sewage. It was nauseating. We had to switch rooms in the middle of the night. The staff acknowledged the strong odor and said it happens when the wind blows a certain way. We were eager to leave.

When booking our reservation we mentioned that we were celebrating a special anniversary Andy husbands birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted in our room with a beautiful bottle of champaign and lovely fruits. We highly recomend staying here Breakfast was also special

Review 18：Only 1 meal (Veal Medallions) was not as cooked to request. Would've liked a brochure summarising the property and the history to read and take away and share with others.

Review 23：We love this Pousada--it is so exciting to drive up to it, then open the windows in your room and be able to see the ocean several miles away. This is our second visit because we wanted to have this special experience again! Fernanda should get a raise...she's the best ever!!!!

Review 24：Didn't love that the restaurant charges an absolute fortune to dine and if you chose not to eat at the Pousada, your choices are zero, say for local café and snack places.

Review 30：What a delight! Pousada de Palmela is a historic building- was a convent and is part of a castle. Inside it has been done up to 5* spec. We stayed in a suite with beautiful views from every side. Every member of staff was lovely. Fernanda was a delight. Restaurant was terrific, breakfast was superb. We didnt want to leave.

Review 71：The staff was fantastic and provided everything we could ever need. We booked a suite, which was more spacious than we even expected. Location could not be better, sitting atop a hill overlooking Palmela, Lisbon, Setubal, etc. We could even see all the way to the Moorish Castle in Sintra from our room! Dinner onsite was fantastic and easily worth the money. Service impeccable. I don't understand the reviews of it being overpriced or the portions being small, and we were a young couple on a budget. Yes, it is a little pricy but a far better value than some of the meals we had in Lisbon, Cascais, etc. Quite thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. An absolute MUST for anyone travelling to the Lisbon area. You will remember your stay here forever.

Review 73：We enjoyed sitting in the tower at the end of the day. The securityofficer arrived and asked us kindly to move so that he could lock up. Hewas polite and very accommodating to us. He even took our picture. Ifeel he should be commended for his professionalism and customerrelations. Bravo. We had the best breakfast of all the accommodation wehad that week. Review 74：The view was wonderful. It is on the top of a high hill and you cansee for miles. The countryside is beautiful and it is a short driveto Lisbon. The staff was outstanding and the room was great. We hada wonderful dinner and breakfast and we hope to return sometime inthe future.

Review 75：Keine nennenswerten Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Umgebung, und auch die Pousada selbst bietet keine besonders anziehenden oder lebendigen Bar- oder Aufenthaltsräume, auch kein Pool oder Terrasse zum Sonnenbaden. Für längeren Aufenthalt daher ungeeignet, für eine Durchreise ok.

Review 77：Though I can see that it might be difficult to achieve a swimming pool would be a welcome addition to the facilities on offer. The a la carte menu in the restaurant is also very expensive compared to most and clearly does not draw any trade other than from hotel guests.
