Reviews for Casona Plaza Hotel
Review 1:Slightly noisey at night.
Review 2:We stayed in 5/6 hotels on our 3 week stay in Peru and this by far was the best value for money. Puno may be not have the same tourist demand as Lima, Cusco and Arequipa but a lot of prople use it as a base for lake Titicaca. Rooms were very well sized with all mod cons. Very clean. Proper double bed. Breakfast was good for a mid-ranged hotel in peru. A great surprise for the price we paid.
Review 3:Showers require plumbing expertise and extraordinary patience to get warm, the frig is nothing more than a cupboard and minor repairs (broken globe) required repeated requests to fix. The rooms are odd with no external windows but rather views into the neighbouring guests' room
Review 4:Excellent location with OK breakfast. TV had good reception
Review 5:The wifi wasn't working properly in the room but was ok in the lobby and restaurant.
Review 6:The location, great breakfast buffet, big rooms with large beds, nice staff.
Review 7:Not really 4 star. Only a small heater in the room which couldnt really cope especially as the windows are sginle glazed (let in alot of noise and cold). We had to phone to get picked up from the train station as they didnt read or reply to our booking.com special requests.
Review 8:Great location
Review 9:I think the water was a bit brownish.
Review 10:HOT WATER! and even a (small) bathtub! with heating! Comfortable bed and nice breakfast. It was really a treat after so many hostel around. Very good location near the main square.
Review 11:Linens/detergent gave me a rash. WiFi was very slow - was only able to send text messages or emails. Difficulty loading websites& videos. Washroom was cold and hot water took a few minutes to get hot.
Review 12:The staff spoke some English. Location was good. Breakfast offerings were good.
Review 13:They should give information of the travel agency and number after booking the travel to lake titicaca .this will be of great help for the tourist .
Review 14:Service , food ( breakfast variety) , location to plaza
Review 15:Insufficient heating in the room even though there was a non-mobile radiator.
Review 16:Customer service - Front Desk staff and the supply of oxygen when needed. An excellent buffet breakfast!
Review 17:Can hear traffics and people in the corridors very clearly. Egg station closed too early before breakfast ends?
Review 18:Location. Hot water is instantly available in bathroom. Hairdryer is provided without asking. Chocolate powder is provided at breakfast so you can make your own hot chocolate.
Review 19:The traffic noise. I don't know if there are quieter rooms away from the traffic, but it would be worth asking. Drivers don't hesitate to use their horns even at 3 in the morning.
Review 20:The staff were friendly; it's great value for money - clean and spacious rooms, although a little chilly when we arrived. There is heating (needed);
Review 21:Loved the large bed and the comfort of the room, the location was close to everything we wanted to visit. Lots of interesting things occurring the Plaza. No hesitate in recommending the property.
Review 22:The coffee at breakfast needs a lot of improvement. Just a block away from the main square but the street side room can be noisy from early in the morning to late into the evening due to traffic. The bathroom had a window that could not be totally closed, hence was freezing cold at night.
Review 23:The king size bed in lieu of the usual double bed one gets in most hotels in Peru was comfortable and appreciated.
Review 24:Hotel was fine .. Lot of works going on in town, looks like nothing ever gets finished but .. All that aside locals are friendly and helpful a must see location
Review 25:Location was great, very central in the town area. The breakfast was exilent. Staff spike multi laungages and where very helpful with directions and advice
Review 26:Very noisy just because we arrived during a 2 day festival and parades went right past hotel. Would be a noisy spot on a regular day as well.

Review 34:The hotel is quite old and this is evident expecially in the bathrooms. It is not a 4 star hotel.
Review 35:Staff is efficint, kind and english speacking. Breakfast is good and starts at 6 am in the morning.
Review 36:Slow internet connection and terrible breakfast: coffee which was not hot and we have asked to make it hot, no answer. The yoghurt had a bad taste, so we did not eat it. Dry bread... Practically we had to leave everything and went to have breakfast in a bar. It is a pity for 4 star hotel.
Review 37:central position in Puno.
Review 38:The hot water was not hot - this may sound petty but I picked the hotel specifically because it advertised the hot water, so that was disappointing.

Review 96:The room was spacious and very clean. Good shower. Good breakfast with eggs to order. Only a block from the square. Staff were good.
Review 97:Centrally located close to the main square, multiple restaurants and stores. Friendly staff. This was a large hotel with all the facilities you would expect.
Review 98:Wi-fi was intermittent at best.
Review 99:The rooms were great with extras like house coats included. The included breakfast started early. Bags can be left. There were heaters in the rooms. It was quiet enough.
Review 100:Hotel is a bit dated and need updated . We booked a suite but the room was facing the street so a bit noisy .
Review 101:Centrally located and friendly staff . There were dressing gown and complementary slipper provided .
Review 102:I asked for a Suite and got the smallest room possible. I wasn´t told that they were out of suites and had to ask at the front desk it the room I was at was actually the room I ordered. Furthermore, the restaurant didn´t work at lunch time (which is Peruvian main meal), the bathtub looked nasty and the wifi only worked at the lobby. I wouldn´t come back at this hotel and wouldn´t recommend it.
Review 103:One word to describe this hotel noisey The hotel in on a busy street ona corner, the streets are narrow and do not gave traffic lights so whena vehicle approaches the cross roads from any direction you can hearbeep beep and if that was not bad enough at approximately 2am in themorning I was awoken after only 1 hour sleep a large tanker deliveringfuel directly beneath my bedroom window, I accept it would be difficultto deliver the fuel during the day time but that was no consultation tome at 2am in the morning you definitely need ear plugs maybe the hotelcould put them in the rooms
Review 104:Reception staff very helpful and friendly, large rooms Clean, it iscentrally located but ...........
Review 105:There was no working wifi in the rooms, and even in the lobby it was hard to figure out how to get it to work. One of the main requirements we had was access to wifi. We also had to change rooms because the electricity sockets wouldn't work in the first one. The hotel staff also took it upon themselves to inform my tour guide, when he called to let us know he was on his way, that we were ill and would be canceling our tour. Which we had never ever communicated with them. We only got to go on our tour because I got worried that our guide never showed up and called him.
Review 106:It was a very pretty hotel and had a great breakfast buffet, with eggs and fruit
Review 107:internet on the computers in the hotel was a painfull experience. not sure wether it was due to equipment in the hotel or bad infrastructure in the area generally
Review 108:-big comfortable room -good breakfast -good location -helpfull staff
Review 109:Wifi only worked in lobby and restrraunt but not a big deal.
Review 110:The room was spacious and very clean. Good shower. Good breakfast with eggs to order. Only a block from the square. Staff were amazing. I needed oxygen and they have on site and hooked me up for half an hour which was great and really helped
Review 111:They didn't have our reservation, but that could have been a problem with booking.com Bath can be a bit slippery when getting into the shower.
Review 112:This hotel is just as lovely as its sister hotel in Arequipa. We had two double beds in the room with crisp clean sheets and comfy pillows and duvet. There were also dressing gowns and chocolates on the bed! Toiletries and hairdryer in the bathroom. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Very clean room and bathroom, plenty of towels. What was a busy street in the day was quiet at night. Good wi-fi, TV with cable so we were able to watch programs in English. Helpful staff. Very good breakfast. We were only there for 1 night.
Review 113:The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is located right in the center of everything and is very clean. Sonia, the receptionist, along with the rest of the staff were more than helpful. They really went out of her way to accommodate us.
Review 114:I booked a superior suite with a spa, and was told that the person hadto stay in our room as they had altitude sickness. We ended up gettingtwin beds, and they said they gave us a better rate.. Which I found outtoo late was 10.00 us per night more that I could have booked myself onbooking.com. I asked for a discount and they said they would check withmanagement and we never got a discount. I thought because we had beenmoved to another room we did not book they would have given us somethingas we had been inconvenienced. Not very professional in my view.
Review 115:Location great, comfortable beds, hot showers.
Review 116:Room was a little noisy (facing the road). The breakfast was a little on the basic side. Upon check out, it was really slow and they were not equipped to print out a receipt for us. Their system is not computerised and we waited a long time to get this done.
Review 117:Location was perfect. Very good value for money. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were great.
Review 118:Spacious rooms, comfy beds. Alert and attentive staff: we were forewarned of an upcoming taxi strike and thus managed to slip away two hours before it began. We remain, very grateful!!!
Review 119:The hotel location is good, the staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The room was clean. The hotel is good for visiting Titicaca Lake and the other historical places
Review 120:Not very clean - had to ask the front desk to change our sheets after first night.
Review 121:Prime location. Great for a party of 3 with individual beds for all 3 people.
Review 122:Staff a little formal. Sandwiches served in the hotel bar were reallypoor - however, when this was mentioned to the staff, they did give us areduction.
Review 123:None of the words above describe Casona Plaza - 'luxury' wouldbe the closest out of them all, but I wouldn't quite give it thissuperlative. Very comfortable however - lovely big beds and nice sheets!Very clean and excellent breakfasts.
Review 124:The place had humidity's smell. Slow wifi connection. We used the glasses the put in the room, but they were never cleaned. You had to choose between heater or lamps, because the room had only one electricity plug to them.
Review 125:The place was pretty big and confortable. Well located, near the city's main streets and parks. The staff got us very good tours around the city. Good variety on breakfasts.
Review 126:Bathroom a bit old and outdated, wifi didn't work most of the time
Review 127:Heater in the room, very good breakfast!
