Reviews for Naeba Prince Hotel

Review 1:Hmm, it wouldn't hurt to replace the carpets in the rooms but who cares. I loved everything.

Review 2:I came here for 4 days right after leaving Shiga Kogen Prince hotel in Nagano. Prince in Nagano is a joke compared to this place. Very friendly and accommodating staff and also foreign friendly. It's huge, almost like being on a cruise ship that's docked at the base of a half dozen ski slopes. I never left the hotel. I brought a microwave and my own food and booze but still ate out once every day. there's about 2 dozen restaurants in the hotel most of them pretty decently priced (10-15 USD per person). I loved it here and will go back for sure. I can't say the same about Prince in Nagano, this place makes them look sad.

Review 3:Staff cannot speak English

Review 4:Free shutter bus from Echigo yuzawa station to resort A lot of restaurant Outdoor onsen very nice Amazing view of snow from your room Amazing location for winter

Review 5:The location is 30 minutes drive away from Echigo Yuzawa, which is the nearest station from the hotel. They only provide shuttle bus 3 or 4 times a day. Unfortunately we arrived at Echigo yuzawa station around 7 PM and we missed the last bus. The only way to go to the hotel was by taxi and it was quite expensive (7000yen)

Review 6:We really enjoyed our stay at Naeba Prince hotel. Our triple rooms were clean and spacious with beautiful ski run view. The wifi connection was great. The hotel staff were polite and helpful. They have a large number of restaurants and one convenience store near the lobby. They also have ski school for kids with english speaking instructors as well

Review 7:arrive in echigo yuzawa on 5.10. hotel shuttle bus should be arrived at 6 pm. but no show. next schedule is 7.30 pm... wait in Train station and wondering next bus will arrive or not. the only to reach hotel onky by shuttle bus. taxi is very expensive.

Review 8:ski course with English native speaker.affordable ski clothes and rental. big breakfast.

Review 9:Open air onsen, mountain cafe and many shops are closed left only 3 restaurants. Shuttle bus at station service left only 3 times a day. If u don't have a car for trip will be very difficult to get to site. Flushing system is very bad.

Review 10:Ski in/out and rental services are convenient. The ski mountain view are excellent. Ski school is professional yet need advance booking for English instructor.

Review 11:Staff was awesome. Local onsens and restaurants were solid. Rentals at this resort are very expensive. I would have gone to another mountain if I had done my research, or stayed at a smaller guest house/ryokan style lodging in the same town, there were many within walking distance to the ski lifts

Review 12:Rental staff are impolite and lazy and ticket seller is sleeping when we want to purchase lift tickets.

Review 13:Good price and free snowboard rental on the weekday.

Review 14:When we arrived and after we went to the room, they had sent us to a storage room however they rectified the situation and provided an upgrade.

Review 15:Location was good

Review 16:Many of the hotel and some ski mountain seemed to shut down on less busy weekdays. For example: the open-air onsen was closed all week in mid-March (making for a very crowded indoor onsen). Many of the restaurants were not open, and some of the lifts were not open. The hotel is also a bit worn down asthetically.

Review 17:The ski in/ski out location was fantastic and the staff was very helpful. The shuttle from Echigo-Yuzawa Shinkansen station was also very convenient.

Review 18:Bunny slopes right next to the hotel, ideal for families & young children learning to ski. Great standard of English spoken by many staff, including ski-hire & ski-instructor. Wide selection of restaurants. Nice onsen.

Review 19:WiFi only in the lobby. No double beds at all but the beds are at least moveable..

Review 20:Good connection from Tokyo and comfortable approach by free shuttle bus from station. For japanese conditions the room size is good.

Review 21:Wish hotel can provide eariler shuttle bus in morning returning to train station!

Review 22:Great to stay just for skiing. Free shuttle is great to get to and from Echigo-Yuzawa Station, and very nice staff!

Review 23:WIFI not availeble Lots of places to eat, but opening times not allignes, so hard to find somthing to eat between 3 and 5 in the afternoon.

Review 24:Location to the ski hill

Review 25:Nothing!

Review 26:Friendly staff and delicious food Reasonable price for skip gears Wonderful viewing Dragondola We started at building 6 which is quite old but very well maintained

Review 27:The room could get quite warm and no wifi in room .

Review 28:The location is excellent with great ski facilities. You can ski in and out with lockers provided. They have good dining facilities with enough choices in price and cuisine. The hotel is pretty old (it shows) but is well maintained.

Review 29:I leaved in wing 6. The hotel didn't offer free wifi in rooms, but only in lobby....

Review 30:The hotel has shuttle bus between JR station and hotel, pretty good.

Review 31:But the staff is pretty rude when we try to check in earlier. They didn't allow us to check in early but told us the room is ready. We try to ask for it again then they finally agree to let us check in in the early morning with an extra 4000 yen charge.

Review 32:The location is really convenient for the ski beginner, or family. We were able to rest in our room between the tiring ski sessions. That's nice.

Review 33:Room assigned was different from the one shown during booking. Barely fit 3 adults. No WiFi in the room !

Review 34:Easy access to ski lifts for beginners and young kids..

Review 35:The price per room is quiet high and not provided free wifi or complimentary drinking water in the room. Being the hotel guest, does not seem to have anything different with others who come for just skiing.

Review 36:The location is the best. You can walk out to Ski field just open the door.

Review 37:the kids park is 1000yen each (adults have to pay too) everything is very dated and old and some areas of the hotel are dirty (next to the bins there were drinks spilled on the walls that stayed there the entire time we were there

Review 38:great location, right on the ski slopes the onsen is lovely and not too crowded for such a big hotel

Review 39:Checking and check out time. 11 for check out and 15 for check in unless you pay. Rooms not according to pictures on website. Restaurant of overall low quality.

Review 40:Only problem I found was the shuttle bus schedule. The earliest one leaves from the hotel to the train station is at 11am. A bit too late in the morning. Interestingly, there is. Pick up service from the station to the hotel at 8am

Review 41:Absolutely convenient to get to the ski slopes of echigoyuzawa and kagura.

Review 42:It is quite run down and a bit daggy, could use a face lift. Food court closed at 6pm? Therefore forced to go to more expensive restaurants.

Review 43:Easy to get to ski field as right on it! Free shuttle service excellent.

Review 44:Free internet was unstable, need to connect Wi-Fi frequently.

Review 45:The room condition is acceptable, enough space for family of 4. Love the mountain view from our room. Everything is under one roof, restaurant, food court (10am-6pm), souvenir/convenient shop children's snow play area, snowboarding, ski, snowmobile etc. Overall satisfactory.

Review 46:a bit small room

Review 47:Wonderful view, great location. I can access the ski area once I go out of the building, There is many ski rental shop, many restaurants and staff is very friendly and willing to help.

Review 48:No wifi in Wing 6. Small room. Only 1 place serving latte and only opens at 11 (Snow Cafe, which is a favorite for those wanting a cosy place to relax). Other places only provide black coffee.

Review 49:Convenience of a one-stop shop ski resort. Very clean. Not a big mountain but sufficient slopes for beginners, intermediates and experts. Good for families. English speaking International concierge team was extremely helpful and friendly with recommendations and pointers. Free shuttle to the Echigo train station. Nice cocktail lounge with a view of the slopes (where wifi is available).

Review 50:Onsen is small. Lady in front desk isn't sincerely, I saw her colleague introduce the facilities to the guest, but she didn't tell us. The breakfast is buffet but the food isn't abundance.

Review 51:The hotel is in big need of a general work over. Built in the seventies it is now looking worn and in some areas even unhealthy (onsen).

Review 52:Perfect location at the bottom of the slopes. Great breakfast and dinner buffet. Nice small service- and souvenir shops.

Review 53:- Door-Step-Ski resort. - Excellent food served in the canteen - Value for money - Hotel guest, weekdays free equipment rental - Hotel guest ski lift ticket promotion - Powder fine snow

Review 54:I was in Wing 6 I believe, and there is no Wi-Fi in the rooms, so I had to use my network's data ( I had an international data plan), and usually when you go to a hotel, that's where you use the internet the most, and you can unwind and contact your friends and family back in your country, which I still did, but with the data that I needed to conserve to use on the road. That's the only thing.

Review 55:Room service! Beautiful view of the slope! Great room!

Review 56:The ski-in, ski-out facilities are the things I like most. Considering the location, the hotel's many restaurants and shops really made our winter holiday so much fun. The room given to us has almost floor to ceiling glass window overlooking the mountains, this was really nice.

Review 57:Since it is the only place, prizes are a bit on the high side. No typical after ski bar/club. Difficult to find breakfast and western type restaurants, all though there is 30 bars and restaurants in the resort, the staff seems to be little aware of the offers in the other restaurants. English is not spoken at all outlets.

Review 58:Proximity to the slopes is very good. Easy to get to the place with the free shuttle. Good variety of slopes.

Review 59:No WiFi in rooms. Bed was hard (maybe normal for Japanese hotels?). Expensive.

Review 60:English ski lessons for kids. Great snow. Good and convenient (but expensive) restaurants.

Review 61:The hotel rooms were small, but got the job done. The biggest problem with the resort is the food amenities. Not only are they expensive, but there isn't really a quality place to eat.

Review 62:Prince is a decent hotel in a premium location. The convenience of being able to wake up and walk up to the gondola makes up for the hotel's shortcomings.

Review 63:Green runs are challenging for beginners Ski access to Dragondola is challenging for a beginner

Review 64:convenience access to locker and slopes friendly staff good restaurant choices transfers to Ichigo Yuzawa well groomed slopes fresh rooms

Review 65:Extrapaiment for early check-in (even if your room is already available), no wifi in the room, "onsen" is not free for the hotel guests, the room is small

Review 66:Location. Staff.

Review 67:wifi only available at lobby wing 6. no wifi in the room. was book wing 6 mountain view but when go in the room notice that is car park view. return to front desk request and they said no room. complaint n show them the booking which state mountain view then only change the room to us. waste our time as we need to go up move our luggage to new room on the spot. far away from train station and there is no clear signboard to show which and where to wait for the free shuttle bus.

Review 68:Nice and cozy room just room abit old, wall and wardrobe abit crack comfort bed a lot of restaurant easy access to ski nice mountain view

Review 69:This is a ski resort. The closed the gondolas for most of the days I was there citing strong wind. It is always windy and using weather as a constant excuse is bad. They closed it even when it was perfectly sunny. If they close it you have nothing to do.

Review 70:Nothing . All as good as advertise in the Internet . There is no misleading info

Review 71:The hotel location was great and we enjoyed our stay here. Was worried at first as its using booking .com but it was great as everything was efficient and smooth . We can change the no of nights with ease and response was fast and great . Thank you booking .com

Review 72:- Wifi is only available in Wing 4 lobby

Review 73:- Breathtaking sights - Nice and cozy room - Friendly and helpful staff - Food court and lots of other restaurants to choose from - Lots of stores inside

Review 74:Bit of a monolithic Butlins feel to the place but this didn't detract from the amazing rooms and great skiing.

Review 75:Wonderful view of slopes and great door to door skiing. With exception of buffet breakfast other restaurants over priced so we went to village ( approx 10 mins walk) for dinner. Great shuttle bus from Echigo station.

Review 76:Very limited wifi at hotel check in area. No wifi in rooms or restaurants !! Guess the Japanese guests do not need any since they have their mobile phones. Foreigners crowd around the check in area every evening for wifi!! Hilarious !! I would suggest that wifi at least be available throughout the public areas. Snow Cafe would be more crowded if there was wifi :)

Review 77:Ski in and ski out ! Saves time and effort! Many food options and shops! Ski and snow board facilities were abundant. Ski school with English coaches was slightly expensive but worth it!

Review 78:Food options: Limited throughout the hotel to average processed carb food & expensive. Better to wander into Naeba village for hotpot or bbq. No gym But, neither of the above negatives really affected our stay - it was still a great stay!

Review 79:Location: Ski in and out Convenient to get to from Tokyo, door to door (home to hotel) was a hassle-free 3 hours Decent ski run options kept us busy and interested for a 4-day ski Onsen: cheap and cheerful although busy. Pay 500Yen for a 3day pass.

Review 80:The rooms are pretty small, tight, and the prices for everything that you may perchase is pretty high. We would come skii here one day but would avoid stayin at the hotel.

Review 81:Certainly one of the best resorts ive stayed at, facilities-wise speaking. They offer rentals, lockers, classes, different type of activities, such as snow mobiles and trains for children. Wether you are a guest at the hotel or just here to skii, you will definitely enjoy this area. They also have many sports shops and dining options, in addition to a convenient market and a pharmacy. English speaking staff are available and they are very helpful. We would come here again and i would recommend to my friends. Wont spend more than a weekend here tho.

Review 82:The location of the shops in the building are confusing. To use the public bath, you have to pay which shouldn't be since it's featured in their faciities. The hotel has lots of guests so you'd have to wait in line for a long time to have dinner. In our case, we waited for 2 hours, so make sure you go to the restaurant at 5pm to make a reservation since it's only done in person.

Review 83:The ski resort is just outside the hotel. The express bus from the station to ghe hotel is very convenient.

Review 84:Hard to communicate for foreigners, Need's more english translations.

Review 85:Location and snow was grate, They had all new gear for rent. Ski teachers are very good.

Review 86:Upon check-in we were told they did not have our reservation. We showed the booking.com confirmation# and they took another 10 min. Finally called us over and gave us keys for room 316 in bldg 2, it was a dump. 250 a night and the second I got off the elevator I was hit with the disgusting odor of cigarettes!!! Got the room and it was just as bad, dirty stained carpet and a great view of the roof. Did not even want to set my bags on the floor, much less have my kids on it. Anyway went all the way back down to try and swap rooms and was told they were fully booked to come back in the morning. Hit the slopes for the day and had a great time, decided to go down for a drink with my wife in the prince24 and they did not even have soda to mix drinks!!! Whatever... Done with The Prince Hotel in Naeba. Don't think I will use booking.com again as well seeing how I did not even show a room booked. Good luck!

Review 87:Resort slopes were great and all the staff and patrol did a great job outside. Plenty of lifts working and fun to be had!!

Review 88:1. No Room Facilities (No Ice Vending machine, No drinking water, empty refrigerator) 2. Hotel Staff not aware of Hotel services 3. Onsen was not free for guests staying in the Hotel 4. Hotel asked us to pay 3000 yens extra for early check-in in the room

Review 89:1. Ski Resort was good 2. Location of Hotel good

Review 90:Good experience, good facilities. Pretty cool location for practicing snow sports

Review 91:Add more American food

Review 92:View is perfect....

Review 93:the frequency of shuttle bus was a bit low and the restaurant closed too early.

Review 94:There are many choices of restaurant.

Review 95:Food was a bit pricey

Review 96:Right on the ski slope with access to Kagura ski slopes as well. Good ski rental system.

Review 97:Nothing

Review 98:Room view...ski area perfect

Review 99:spend a long time for check-in/check-out

Review 116:Perfect location, convenient ski rental, beautiful onsen.

Review 117:location, free ski rental on weekdays, view looking to the piste from the room

Review 118:nothing actually.

Review 119:great location, huge ski courses, many restaurants.

Review 120:Price is quite ex

Review 121:Ski course and facility

Review 122:The best is the location of the hotel.

Review 123:it will be perfect if the hotel room is bigger

Review 124:Easily access by direct shuttle bus. Good varieties of food. Perfect ski resort.

Review 125:Hotel requires complete upgrades within the rooms - especially the old carpeting.

Review 126:Hotel direct to Ski Lift

Review 127:Too squeezy! Too crowded!

Review 128:Skiing just a step out.

Review 135:Good location and shuttle bus to Hotel
